"Ah, happy Halloween. Is it that time of the year again?" The Ancient Apparition moved his body slowly through the air from side to side while he spoke. "I'm sorry, I don't usually have sweets at home. Normally I get some for Halloween but I forgot."
The Crystal Maiden smiled up at the strange mage who seemed to consist only of ice. "No problem. We'll just do the trick part, then."
"You would, wouldn't you?" His eyes started to glow softly in a deep red. "Maybe I could offer you something else?" He floated a little backwards and waved his arm. "Come in, and I'll make you a hot chocolate. Would that suffice?"
"Oh." Rylai's eyes got huge. "That would be awesome!"
And before Lanaya could stop her, she stormed into the house of the Ancient Apparition. With an inaudible sigh, the Assassin followed. She was careful, though, always kept the Apparition in her field of vision, not trusting him. He wasn't strong enough to kill them but better to be safe than sorry.
They stopped in a huge kitchen, the Ancient Apparition taking things out of the cupboards, starting to make hot chocolate. Rylai stood next to him watching and talking with the creature. Lanaya didn't listen but took a look around the room. It seemed the Apparition had put real effort in building this kitchen. Did he like to cook? Strange, especially since the Apparition seemed to consist only of ice. The Assassin was sure that she'd never seen a kitchen equipped like that. There was every item one could need for cooking in here and enough space to move around, to prepare lots of stuff.
Even the kitchen in Rylai's ice palace wasn't that grand.
"Hey Naya!" The Maiden's call snapped her out of her thoughts. "You want to sit down with us?"
The Templar Assassin wasn't that big a fan of chocolate but hot chocolate was definitely the best way to consume it. And when she saw the tiny marshmallows sprinkled on top of the liquid in her mug, she smiled a little. Not that anyone could see it behind her half mask.
Rylai grinned at her before she took the first sip. Her eyes rolled back in her head and Lanaya could feel how much she loved the taste of the hot chocolate.
