"Milk dud?" Before Rylai could ask her question, the Omniknight held a package of something into their faces.
"Yes, thank you!" Rylai took one, seemingly out of reflex. Lanaya didn't. Then the Maiden shook her head. "Don't bring me out of my line like that! I wanted to say 'trick or treat'!"
The Omniknight frowned. "Oh no, it's Halloween?"
"Happy Halloween!" Rylai chirped happily.
"Of course it is. The Crystal Maiden at my door dressed as little red riding hood and a dressed up wolf by her side. I shouldn't have opened the door."
"How can you be so grumpy suddenly when you just offered me Milk Duds?" Lanaya wondered the same. He obviously had sweets and was generally friendly (though he didn't actually smile).
"Because," the Omniknight sighed, "I'll have to go to Kunkka's party. And I never have a good costume. I'm so very bad at picking one, I always feel like I made the wrong choice."
Before the Maiden said it, Lanaya knew what would come. If she'd thought she could stop it, she'd have tried. But this wasn't something she could avoid. "I can help you!"
And that was how they spent an hour at the house of the Omniknight, Lanaya utterly bored while Rylai was completely in her element with choosing an outfit for the male for Kunkka's party.
