Hiya, mates! So I have been getting a little bit back into a series I grew up with due to a friend of mine named Woolly who has recently gotten into it. That series being, Naruto.
So~ as I'm sitting here tired and sleep-deprived and not much other inspiration, I decided to write in this universe with Jlaire lol How am I going to make these two mix?
... Honestly have no clue lol
But~ with some determination and fluffy feelings from my girlfriend who fell asleep a little bit ago, I have some motivation to write some fluff lol Hope you enjoy it!
Becoming a shinobi was an honor in Arcadia. Being a ninja was difficult work and was oftentimes more dangerous than anything, but it was a noble lifestyle. The work was rewarding in morality. Was also rewarding in pay, but that was only ever a showcase if you knew what to do with your coin.
But it meant protecting your land. Doing missions in the name of your leader and people. To protect the civilians within those walls and to keep those you love alive. You made bonds with teammates and teachers that could never be broken. Allowing you to make friendships while protecting the people that didn't have enough within them to protect themselves.
Though the dangers of the work was never something to forget.
I kept my glowing hands close to Jim as I focused my energy into his system with ease. Healing the major cut he acquired in a battle not long ago in our most recent mission.
"You've gotta be more careful, Jim." The blue-eyed shinobi leaned his head back in my lap where I had him laying as my glowing hands stayed close to his chest. A lopsided smile spread across his lips as I tried my best to stay serious with him.
"You know I can't promise that, Claire." His smile spread just a bit for some of his teeth to show as his eyes shined just enough to show the sincerity within his words.
When we were young in the academy, I never thought much about the hunter in training. He was a classmate, sure, and I knew I might have been teamed within the end, but I never gave him much thought.
But that all changed when we were placed in our little trio together. Jim, Toby, and I with our teacher Blinky was all that was needed for the blue-eyed ninja to take over my mind in a drastic way. He captured my mind with ease. As if he put a genjutsu on me from the moment we became teammates. I grew deeply attached to the boy and it was quite obvious to anyone that looked upon us. We became attached to the hip. Which only allowed the feelings swelling in my chest to grow slowly as each day went by.
Which only made the fear of losing him on missions like this just that more terrifying.
"You know what I mean, Jim." I gave him a stern look as I finished that last bit of healing needed on his injury.
"I know." His voice was soft and caring as I noticed the sincere gleam in his eyes. "You know I can't just let you get hurt like that." I gritted my teeth as I dropped my hands from his chest. His wound was completely healed at this point in time.
"A miscalculation." Jim gave me a sympathetic look as he now relaxed in my lap.
"Don't be too rough on yourself there, Claire."
"I should've known it would happen."
"It was an ambush. How would you expect an ambush? Could you feel it in the wind?" He gave me a cheeky smile as he suddenly sat up and turned his body toward me. "Stuff happens, Claire. Don't be too rough on yourself cause of something you can't control."
"I shouldn't have done something there than standing there with doe eyes."
"You were low on chakra too at the time." He reached out to me and touched near my eyes. "You were just using your seal to heal me anyway." I swallowed hard as I allowed my chakra to lower back to its original state. The rejection of my seal's chakra made the obvious black markings around my eyes to disappear as his hand dropped suddenly.
Shadow chakra seals are effective. Only when used effectively though. It took me years to master the one placed on me at a young age. Morgana made sure of that when she realized that I was the only other ninja that had her specific chakra control and abilities. She wanted to make sure she was the only one.
But here I am.
"Better?" I gave him a blank stare that welcomed me with a bright smile in the end.
"Much better." I felt a blush taint my cheeks as I looked down at my hands. "More you after all."
"I'm a shadow user."
"Yeah, but the seal hides your eyes." I looked back up at him as I gave him a confused look.
"What do you mean?" He shrugged as he gave me a soft smile.
"Makes them go from brown to purple." It was obvious he realized that he said too much as he reached up and rubbed at the back of his neck. "I just uh-. I just prefer the original color of your eyes is all. They're pretty- I mean pretty cool yeah." I smiled softly as I noticed the light look in his blue eyes as a small pink tint took over the tops of his cheeks.
Just as much of a clumsy dork as I am.
I steeled myself suddenly as I heard footsteps nearby.
But I wouldn't let anyone else see it. It was only right to only allow him to see it after he's been so genuine with me.
"Claire! Jimbo! You two good!?" I looked over toward Jim's best friend Toby as he appeared along with our teacher, Blinky.
"I see Lady Claire has healed Master Jim here well." Blinky gave us both a wide smile as he looked between Jim and me.
Often times I forget that before Blinky become our teacher, Blinky was one of the few specific protectors of the trollhunter bloodlines. Sworn to protect Jim and all those before him. Training and educating them while also swearing their life to them.
Ending with probably the weirdest teacher-student relationship in all of shinobi history.
"Blinky, I told you before. I'm your student. No need to call me master." Jim chuckled at it as he looked back at me. "Feeling okay to stand? You used a lot of your chakra."
"I should be fine-." As I spoke, I tried to get up on my feet, but I nearly fell over. The boy before me moved at lightning speed though to make sure I ended up leaning against me instead of falling to the ground. A small glimpse of blue light came from him as he did.
"Are you sure?" He chuckled a little as he put one of my arms around his shoulders. "You helped me, I help you. Alright?" I looked toward him to see a bright smile coming from him as he let me lean into him.
It was ironic. A shadow user and a trollhunter. He practices the use of light jutsu. I live on shadow chakra. We're opposites. His bloodline is praised yet feared. Mine-.
Mine is feared.
I looked over toward the boy to see he was still giving me a bright smile as we started making plans as a group to get back to Arcadia.
But he never feared me.
I felt a smile come to my lips as I looked down to the ground while we started walking.
And that's the beautiful thing within the irony we have.
