Hey guys! Just a quick one-shot as I have Easter off from work lol I hope you guys enjoy and sorry for the radio silence!
Ever since things became quite... normal with us after the wars we ragged for the world, I got to see quite a lot more about Jim than just the heroics and seriousness that he would carry. More than just the person he was when he was more of a Trollhunter than Jim Lake.
I watched the boy as his bright blue eyes widened. His hands took a small little case from me with what I knew was one of his favorite robotic heroes on the cover.
And now, I get to enjoy him as he is.
Including the big nerd he was the whole time but never got to really enjoy as high school idiots.
"No way!" He nearly launched out of the chair he was sitting in as a wide goofy smile took over his face. "How'd you get this!?"
"Well, it has been a while since GunRobot 4 came out." I giggled a little as it was obvious time was no longer a normal construct to the now eighteen-year-old. "We were sixteen when it originally came out there, darling." He gave a small smile before scratching the back of his neck with his right hand.
"Oh, right." He chuckled nervously as he let the moment sink in. "But hey!" He got excited once more as he held up the copy of his favorite movie franchise. "We can finally see it! Remember when we tried to make a date out of it?"
"And I instinctively remember trying to stab you with a steak knife." I crossed my arms over my chest with a smirk. "Must have been one horrible date for me not to remember anything."
"Or maybe it was the possession?" Jim gave a small laugh as we both knew that date was a disaster.
"Mainly the possession." I smiled as I reached out and wrapped my arms around his waist. "You were too nervous to actually let the date go horribly."
"I did try desperately." Jim's features softened as he wrapped his arms around me as well. His free hand rubbed circles on my back as we stood there together.
"I'm dating a nerd though." I reached up and booped his nose which caused him to grin wide like a fool.
"You knew this!"
"I did! Never got to really see it though."
"Claire, I gushed about robots and Vespas for years."
"Which was very few and in between with the hero-ness you have." This caused him to laugh as I wrapped my arms around him again. "Wouldn't change you for the world though."
"I wouldn't change you either, Claire." He squeezed me tight as I put my head on his shoulder.
My hero. My nerd.
I took a deep breath and let it out slowly as I leaned into him heavily.
My Jim.
