It had been a week since Lucy had joined Fairy Tail, something she wouldn't change for the world, she loved it here, it was absolutely bat-shit crazy…well no it was just bat-shit crazy, like all the time but she still loved it here, she had gone on a mission to rescue a book from a mansion with Gray which ended okay in all, I mean the mansion had frozen over and she had been called ugly, but apart from that, it went fine.
Lucy and Gray were currently sitting in the guild hall about to go grab another request to go on another mission, when Loke, another fairy tail wizard that Lucy hadn't spoken to approached her, seeing her keys though made him sprint away as fast as he could, shouting something about how fate can be so cruel, he ran out the doors.
"Loke has issues with celestial wizards, there's a rumour he had trouble with a woman a while back," Mira said looking towards the door he had just run out of, Lucy sweat dropped at that
"Figures...," only to be taken out by Gray who had just been pushed over my Elfman
"Could you guys give it a rest!" lucy struggled out from where she was on the floor,
After Gray and Elfman squared up to each other for the eighth time that day the doors to the guild flew open and Loke came back in, panting from running.
"We've got trouble!" he shouted gaining everyone's attention in the hall "Erza's back," as those words left his lips the guild hall descended into panic, people running around tidying up the small messes they had made In hops they wouldn't get in trouble.
"Erza, Gray mentioned her before, she can't be that bad can she," lucy said confused as to the sudden panic.
Loud footsteps came from just outside the hall, footsteps one wouldn't match with a woman, more a monster's footsteps, a massive shadow descended on the entrance of the guild hall.
"Erza's comin' back," Macao said his voice quivering
"With this kind of reaction Erza must be a really amazing wizard," She thought of what kind of monster Erza must really be to make the whole guild this fearful of her "Scary!"
Erza eventually reached inside the guild hall and placed down the large horn she had carried with her; she scanned the hall for a few seconds before speaking
"I have returned, is master here?" she said looking towards the bar
"S-she's pretty!" Lucy said absolutely stunned, 'I thought she be more, well monsterish'
Erza then proceeded to chew out absolutely everyone in the guild all, somehow even finding out about Macao's escapade to mount Hokobe.
She ended her rant and turned on Gray and Elfman, who now were sweating and currently were locked in a death-like hug on each other smiling at Erza
"Good to see you two are getting along even best friends fight sometimes," she said nodding to herself
"I wouldn't say best friends," Gray said quietly "Manly," Elfman whispered in return
"Gray, Elfman I have a favour to ask," a sound of surprise came from both Elfman and Gray, "I heard a troubling story after I had finished my job, honestly speaking this is something for the master to decide, but I want it settled quickly so I've decided myself, will you two lend me your power?" a chorus of whispers erupted from the crowd, all of them surprised that Erza of all people would ask for help.
"Elfman, Gray and Erza, this could be fairy tail's ultimate team!" Mira stated, her eyes wide with shock.

7 hours later Clover town
Lucy, Gray, Erza, Elfman and Happy were currently standing next to each other after Kageyama had finally given up Lullaby which had turned out to be a demon from the book of Zeref
"Master!" Ezra shouted as she and the others ran up to where Makarov was stood
"THAT WAS MANLY," Elfman cried jogging behind
"Great job gramps!" Gray shouted, "What are you kids doing all the way out here in clover," Makarov asked confused as to why his guild was here
"Master Makarov, your words touched me so deeply I was almost moved to tears," Erza stated as she slammed him into a face-breaking hug…right into her armour plating.
"Looks like Gramps talked himself out of another one," Gray said talking to Goldmine and Bob when suddenly a massive spike of magic power caught them off guard.
Suddenly a loud disembodied voice could be heard laughing "HAHAHAHA I've grown tired of you cowardly wizard and your antics," a huge purple magic circle opened in the sky, the rune knights from Oshibana town who had just arrived were caught off guard as a massive being of wood came from within.
"I CAN NO LONGER HOLD BACK, I SHALL COME FORTH TO DEVOUR YOU MYSELF," instead of a small flute, Lullaby had now turned into a massive monster, easily the size of a mountain.
"I SHALL FEAST UPON YOUR PITIFUL SOULS," looking upon them was the true unsealed form of Lullaby, a giant monster with 3 eyes
"It's huge," Lucy cried as the group of assembled wizards stared up at the wooden goliath
"What is that thing Erigor never said anything about a monster!?" Kageyama got out, "it must be a demon from the book of Zeref," Goldmine answered, as the rest of the guild masters fled the scene, Lucy spoke
"Why did it turn into a giant monster," she asked terrified, "Its lullaby's true form, it was created with living magic, Zeref's speciality," Goldmine once again answered Erza was about to speak up when she was interrupted by the bushes next to where they were stood rustling
"What else is coming after us," Gray asked getting ready to fight this foe first, Lullaby was currently preoccupied with the rune knights at the moment
A humming could be heard coming from the bushes, so it was human, 'maybe Erigor is back' was what was chorusing through everyone's heads at the moment, just as Gray was about to shout at whoever it was a hand was stuck out, one of defence.
"Woah-Woah calm down I'm not here to hurt anyone, I just felt this massive pulse of magic, just wanted to check it out," the voice was strong and mature, certainly not a teenager, but not an adult, a young adult the group's mind settled on, as the figure came out the bush the group's eyes widened slightly
Out of the bush came a man stood at about 6'2 his cloak torn in several places, a katana on his hip combined with a smaller blade on the other side, but it wasn't that that had caused the eye-widening, it was the long pink hair in a ponytail sat upon his head, Happy felt the need to say something about that.
"Woah you've got pink hair," Happy shouted slightly giggling at that fact, "and you're a talking cat, guess were both weird then," the man replied back, that set happy off as tears sprouted from his eyes and he flew towards Lucy "Lucie the strange man with pink hair called me weird, that's like me calling you fat, it's true but its hurts," the cat cried into the girl's shoulder, said girl was trying to kill said cat with a glare that would burn a hole through even the sun.
"Lucy?" the man repeated the name the cat had just said "As in…, Jeez you really are the spitting image of your mother" which went unheard by the group, the man seemed to go off into his own world for a few seconds before he looked back up at the girl who was slightly on edge "You know running away from home and then a month later summoning a demon has got to be a record somewhere," the man said crossing his arms across his chest and smiling at the girl, "Wha-how do you know about that, who are you?" Lucy demanded her hands slowly moving down to her keys.
"Lucy, do you know this man?" Erza enquired, stepping in front of the girl who had begun to shake suddenly, "I-I don't know what-" she was cut off as the man spoke again "I'm a friend of your fathers and yo-" the figure spoke again only to be cut off halfway, the first person mentioned setting her off
"IM NOT GOING BACK THERE," she screamed, her teammates momentarily forgotten as her whole new world was crumbling in on itself, 'why why why, I don't want to go back, I never ever want to go back there'
Outside of Lucy's head, Erza had reequipped her sword and Gray had started a spell,
"What's going on here," Erza demanded, her sword pointed at the man, "How do you know Lu-" she was cut off as a massive energy beam destroyed a mountain near their location.
"I have no need for those pathetic human lives, I would much rather feast on your wizard souls, and look there's even more here than when we started," the eyes of the demon focusing on the small group of wizards where Erza, Elfman, Gray, Lucy, and the rest were stood
Erza looked back to see the man looking up at the demon, more amused than concerned.
"Find something amusing?" her sword still pointed at him, the man looked down his eyes focusing on Erza then back to Lucy who had snapped out of her stupor and was looking at the demon, his face instantly contorted into concern, because of the way everyone had pushed up to get in front of Lucy, she was basically in front of Lullaby, said demon was currently staring right down at her.
"YOU, your soul is weak, you have barely anything for me to feast on, it would be easier to hmmm…crush you," the demon boomed lifting its leg to crush the girl.
"SHIT," Gray cursed as he turned to run towards Lucy
'NO' Erza's eyes went wide as she too turned
Makarov watched on from the cliff side he was on 'there not going to make it' as the demon's leg thundered down to crush the terrified girl, Makarov was about to stop the demon's leg when suddenly a huge explosion emanated from the leg of the demon, flattening the surrounding trees and causing one of the legs of the demon to fall off.
"What in the world was that," Makarov asked, as he looked towards where lucy had been sat to only see her gone, he immediately scanned the area to only see her safe and sound on the ground next to where Erza and Gray and Elfman were, another thing he spotted was the someone stood over her, with his cloak flapping in the wind so was the man who Erza was questioning before 'I didn't even see him move'
Back down with Gray and Erza and Elfman the smoke still hadn't cleared, they thought that the explosion was caused by the demon, they were shellshocked, Elfman was too shocked to speak, "Lucy," Gray said as he fell to his knees thinking he had lost her, Erza was in a similar state as she stared at the ground 'How could I be so foolish' she looked up at the demon only to see the leg on the floor and lucy's body not there, not crushed, she frantically looked around to see her lay safely across from her, the man from before stood over her his sword out from its sheath, a look of pure anger on his face, he sheathed his sword and picked up Lucy in a bridal style carry, before he spoke "I've got her go, take out that demon while you still have the chance, If it plays its song your all dead," his voice was calm, yet Erza could hear the anger emanating from it, "Elfman, Gray lets finish this thing, Happy grab Gray, and then-"

The man carried Lucy up towards an elevated cliffside where nobody was, they had gotten to a vantage point when Lucy had begun to awaken "Huh, what…where?" She groggily spoke out coughing as she awoke, her mouth dry from earlier
"Your safe, your friends are taking care of the demon," he spoke, lucy remembered what was going on before she had nearly died and jumped out of his arms, and grabbed a key from her keyring, she stood defensively, the key she had out ready to summon at any second, on the other hand, the man didn't look bothered, one hand in his pocket the other sat on his hip, he stood there and waited for her to speak.
"Who are you and how did you find me," she asked him, watching him wearily, "Woah now, your father sent me, I was a friend of his-," Lucy was about to interrupt when he held out his hand "Let me finish; and of your mothers, I'm a friend of Layla's, the name's Natsu Dragneel," he moved his outstretched hand for a handshake, lucy looked at the hand then back up at Natsu, 'he's only a couple years older than me' his face was rough but still young, some pink stubble showing through from not having shaved in a while.
"You knew my mother, but you're only a couple of years older than me, how could you have been her friend!" she shouted at him, Natsu retracted his hand "Got the same damn temper and all," he whispered under his breath, sick of being accused of stuff for the 80th time today, he decided enough was enough, with a roll of the eyes and a deep sigh he spoke "Love and Lucky," Natsu finally shouted, Lucy's eyes went wide as she heard the name "Wh-how?" Lucy slowly slipped out of her defensive stance and just stared at Natsu eye's wide, "They named you after a sign, which I still find quite funny but hey, it was romantic at the time," he said giving off a small laugh before speaking again "was my fault the damn sign was missing the K in the first place, got thrown against the building by a very angry forest Vulcan," he said finally, he looked back up at Lucy before deciding to explain what was happening.
"Look, I'm not here to take you back to your cushy privileged lifestyle, I made a promise 16 years ago to your mother, that if needed I would protect you, Jude says he doesn't understand why you left but he is content with you being out here as long as I'm there too, got it," He said walking closer towards Lucy who didn't back away, he then pointed towards the key she still had pointed at him "And just a heads up I don't think Canis Minor would be able to do a lot of damage if you were to summon it," he said flatly, he watched as Lucy thought for a second before checking the key she was holding, and flushing red due to the fact he was correct.
"So you're not here to take me back, but here to protect me?" she slowly said "Look I'm not here to kill your mojo or anything go do whatever teenagers who work for magic guilds do nowadays, but if your going to do something like summoning a demon then give me a heads up m'kay," he said walking In front of her "anyway come on your friends are about to beat that demon," as he said that the magic circle above the demon disappeared and the demon was ready to play its song, but as it tried to the only sound that came out was small whistles.
"They destroyed the pipes that make the wind flow through the body of the demon to create the spell," Natsu stood on the edge of the cliff "gotta hand it to you Lucy you made some smart friends," His hands placed on the back of his head, lucy looked back the battle before smiling behind him "yeah," Natsu then watched as the Red-haired one summoned 20 or so swords and destroyed the demon, a white pillar of energy escaping into the sky.
Natsu whistled as he saw the crater that Erza had left behind, 'The whole building's gone' before bursting out laughing, 'nothing's changed I see' Lucy confused as to why Natsu had burst out laughing looked over at where he was looking "what are you laughing a-…oh, the master isn't going to like this," she said shaking her head slightly and sweat dropping, "C'mon let's head back down there, your friends will want to know your okay" he said tapping her on the head to get her out of her stupor
As Natsu and Lucy moved back towards the group of wizards and masters, the group that had destroyed the demon were getting praised
"You made defeating one of Zeref's demons look easy," Goldmine complimented
"THAT'S BECAUSE WERE MANLY!" Elfman said pumping his hand in the air
Lucy and Natsu came from behind Kageyama, "I can't believe how strong they are, wow, are all the wizards in fairy tail as powerful as these 3," Kageyama stated in disbelief, "there's no doubt about it this is fairy tail's ultimate team," Lucy said surprising happy who flew over to her, "Hey Lucy you're okay!" Happy happily chanted as he flew into her "Hey strange pink guy…WAIT PINK HAIR GUY," Happy quickly picked up Lucy and flew her over towards where the over 3 were "Lucy are you alright," Erza asked again standing in front of Lucy, Makarov stood to the side observing
"Yeah, I'm fine everything's fine now, it was just a big misunderstanding that's all," she said stepping in front of Erza in between them and Natsu, putting her hands up between the groups
"Elfman, Gray, Erza this is Natsu, a friend of my mother's…I think," she says slowly her hands dropping from her side.
Erza looked at Lucy then behind her at Natsu, before slowly putting her sword down and nodding, swiftly walking past Lucy she approached Natsu "I apologise for threatening you with my sword, you may hit me," she said bowing her head
Natsu stared at her for a few seconds before sighing and lifting his hand up
'He's actually going to do it!' was going through everyone's heads
Natsu raised his hand into a chopping motion and lightly tapped her on the head, before looking at Lucy "So you made friends with a masochist," Natsu said slowly "Weird," he said throwing his hands in his pockets and walking towards the group Lucy went bright red and so did Erza, as Erza raised her head to deny that fact that Natsu had made, she had to blink 2 times to see if what she was seeing was real.
"I can't exactly say I know what just happened but It's safe to say we owe fairy tail a big round of thanks," Goldmine spoke up standing in between the guild masters
"Even so, don't you think they went a little overboard," The smoke fully cleared for all to see, and what they saw was a massive crater where the master's meeting hall used to be, "Ahh I forgot about that," Lucy said looking at the crater and sweat dropping she been doing that a lot today, "Aye, there's even a couple mountain tops missing," Happy said floating next to Lucy, Makarov, on the other hand, felt as if his soul was about to float away 'This is going to cost so much money!'
"Hey old man you look like as if your so-oh never mind there it goes," Natsu said as he watched it float away from Makarovs body "Erza I think you should probably go get the old man's soul, I don't think they're supposed to do that," he said giving Erza a heads up "MASTER" Erza shouted chasing his soul around the edge of the crater.
As all the guild masters went off to catch the group that had caused the mess, Natsu strolled over towards Lullaby's remains, "Well prototypes will always be prototypes," he said picking up the Flute, "Well that's what he used to say anyway," Natsu said staring off into the distance, looking back down at the flute and snapping it in half before dropping it into the crater, ' I should probably go catch up with them now'.
