The guild hall the next morning
"Master, an S-class flyer is missing!" Mira shouted as she ran down the stairs frantically, Makarov spat out his drink as he heard the news.
"What, a job sheet missing?" asked Wakaba said puffing out smoke from his pipe, "What kind of dummy would take an S-class quest flyer?" Kianna asked as the Guild descended into chaos, a voice from the top floor spoke.
"A cat. I saw a cat with wings take it," Laxus's voice boomed down from the second floor, his feet up on the table as he leaned back in his chair, "Happy did? But that makes no sense, he knows he can't do a quest on his own…unless he had…" Mira frantically looked around the guild hall, "Master, Gray's not here!" She said realising who happy had taken the quest too, "That means Gray probably took Lucy, those two are a team right?" someone guild members discussed, "What are those 3 thinking?" someone else asked, "They took an S-class quest just like!?" Alzack said voicing his concern "I knew they were stupid, but not THIS stupid," Bisca the other resident gun mage said from over his shoulder.
"This is a serious breach of the rules," Laxus said smugly, "Oi Gramps, you're kicking 'em out the moment they get back right, I assume?" his tone remaining smug "Though, given their skill level…I doubt they'll come back alive from an S-class job…" he said chuckling slightly, meanwhile Makarov was stood quietly on the bar, his eye's closed, no expression on his face.
Mira stormed up to the second floor, her hands on her hips, she angrily approached Laxus, "If you saw Happy with the flyer why didn't you stop him!?" Laxus shrugged his shoulder and spoke "All I saw was a sneaky cat with a piece of paper in its mouth…I never imagined it was happy," he said sarcastically "Or that Gray was going on an S-class quest," after he had finished speaking he shifted his eyes up at Mira, he smiled as he saw the look in her eye, one of pure fury and anger "Hohoho, you haven't given that look in a while," he said chuckling.
Finally, Makarov spoke up, "Hmm, this is bad, which job was taken?" he asked flatly "The cursed island of Galuna," Mira said turning away from Laxus and heading back downstairs.
"WHAT!?" Makarov shouted, his façade of calmness disappearing, "Galuna island!?" both Wakaba and Macao said surprised "They really are stupid," Kiana said also surprised
Makarov moved away from the bar and looked up at the second floor, "Laxus! Go and bring them back," Makarov boomed up at him, Laxus looked down before gesturing his hand out "No can do, I have my own things going on," he smiled and looked Makarov dead in the eye "And aren't all members of the guild supposed to be able to look out for themselves…right?" Makarov's anger was at a boiling point, "Who else but you can bring Gray back!" he said furious, he looked around at everyone before sighing calming himself down, "We'll just have to wait for Erza to get back, then I'll send her out to collect those 3," he said plonking himself back down at the bar, "Mavis help them," he whispered under his breath.

The port town of Hargeon
"Wow, this sure does bring back memories," she said fondly her hand covering her eyes from the sun looking around, "Lucy it's been about a week," Gray said deadpanning, "Yeah Lucy you sound like an old woman," Happy said snickering, "Shut up cat…what are you even doing here anyway?" she asked looking at the cat hung that was hung onto Grays's shoulder, "I was the one who stole the flyer so I get a cut out of this thing too…I'm going to buy all the fishies in the world," The cat said in his own world, 'you're going to need a lot more money than this job 'll give you if you want all the fish in the world' Lucy thought deadpanning herself, Gray stepped in front of the group walking towards the harbour "Anyway let's go find ourselves a boat," Lucy nodded walking slightly behind him.
After getting to the Harbour Gray approached a boat, after asking if they could take them to Galuna island the man waved his arms out, "No way am I going near that island, the place is cursed," he said turning away and loading his boat with more things, they then asked around for 10 more minutes each answer the same as the last.
"Look even pirates won't go near there, never mind sailors," a sailor told Lucy, Gray rubbed his chin before a light bulb lit up in his head, "We don't need a boat," he said gaining Lucy's attention, "…We can just swim it!" he said banging his fist into his open palm, "Aye," Happy said from his shoulder.
"Are you crazy!" Lucy shouted at him, before sighing deeply, she'd been doing that a lot lately, can't you like, make an ice boat or something," she asked, "I could but it wouldn't make it all the way to Galuna," The sailor who was talking to Lucy before overheard them,
"Wait, you guys are wizards," he asked desperately, "Are you guys here to break the island's curse!?" he again asked, "Yeah were wizards from fairy tail," Gray answered pointing at the emblem on his chest, "Where did your shirt go?" Lucy asked hitting him over the head lightly, Gray looked down before grumbling something about stupid fabrics.
The sailor looked at them for a few more seconds before gesturing with his hand, "Get in, I'll take you to Galuna,"

A few hours later
Lucy, Gray and Happy had been on the ship for a few hours now, the sun beamed down on the small fishing boat as it moved across the waves in the empty ocean.
"Hey, why did you agree to take us," Lucy asked the sailor, bored of the silence, the sailor looked back at the groups and spoke, "My name is Bobo and to be truthful, I'm actually from the island," he said surprising the assembled group, "I fled from the Island when that curse began, such is your fate as well," he said darkly "…can you really lift this curse?" he said pulling away his cloak, "The curse of the demon," as he pulled away his cloak it revealed his arm, which was deformed and purple, hard scales coated his entire arm all the way up to the shoulder, "Mister, your arm…!" Gray said shocked "Curse…you don't mean that…that arm is because…because of the curse!" Lucy said shellshocked.
Bobo looked away and looked ahead before speaking, "There it is," he said calmly "Galuna Island," the group all got in front of him as he stepped back out of their sight, the island was beautiful, and for some reason, a beacon of light was beaming from the islands highest point.
"What is that…is that mountain top glowing?" she asked curiously, not receiving an answer she looked back only to see that Bobo was gone, not a trace left.
"Eh!? Where did he go?" She asked franticly looking around, "Did he fall overboard," Gray asked looking down across the water, "He just suddenly disappeared!" Happy said confused, as they looked over the side of the boat, they noticed how the waves picked up all of a sudden, and as they continued looking for the overboard man, a huge rumbling sound could be heard emanating from somewhere "What's that noise?" Lucy asked, still looking for Bobo, Gray turning around went wide-eyed as he saw the huge tidal wave approaching them.
"H-hey!" he said tapping her on the back, Lucy turned around only for her to be covered in the huge shadow, "GIANT WAVE!" she shouted as the boat began to get thrown about as if it were a toy one, "It's going to engulf us, hold on!" Gray realised as he grabbed onto where he was sat, Lucy, doing the same "Happy lift the boat in the air!" Lucy pleaded, "I can't do that!" he replied back, but it was too late as they were engulfed by the wave

A few hours later…again
Lucy awoke on a beach, palm trees scattered the area around her with a rock outcrop extending out the bay to her right "Where am I?" she asked herself, looking to her right she saw Gray and Happy still out cold, she breathed out a sigh of relief before getting up and stretching, she then looked in front of her to see to her surprise a coconut with a small tiki umbrella and a straw being held out in front of her from her left before she could look to her left a voice spoke up, "Congratulations! You made it to Galuna island!" came the voice of a very cheery Natsu, Lucy looked to her left wide-eyed her mouth in a big 'O' shape "W-wh-wha-WHAT!" she shouted, Natsu cringed as his ears were assaulted by her shout, but none the less kept the coconut in the same place.
"Jeez keep the volume down I'm 'tryna sleep here," Gray said stretching and yawning, and somehow again losing his shirt "Huh wait…were here," he said standing up and picking Happy up out the sand "Hey Happy were here wake up!" he said "Fishi-Huh oh Gray," Happy flew out his hands and landed on Gray's shoulder "Hey Luc-Heh?" Gray looked over at Lucy only to see Natsu stood there, sunglasses on but still in his regular clothes, minus the cloak, and to finish it all off, a coconut in his hand.
"NATSU!?" Gray shouted running over to him, "huh why are you here, how did you get here…You're not here to take us back are you?" he said his eyes glazing over with concern, Natsu slightly down at Gray, his sunglasses falling down his nose as he did, handing Lucy the coconut and turning towards him and crossed his arms, "No I'm not here to take you back, I couldn't care less that you stole an S-class flyer, in fact, I find it hilarious," he said patting the man on the shoulder "And I'm here because of her," he said pointing at Lucy, who was sipping out of the coconut, "Damn this is good!" she said after taking her first few sips, Natsu smiled before walking over towards said girl, "So Lucy…want to tell me why you forgot to tell me you were going on S-class quest," Natsu said his face gone flat, all his humour gone
Lucy looked down at the ground messing around with her hand as she awkwardly shuffled about "I- I didn't want to be a bother," she said after a few moments still looking at the floor, a few tears in her eye's "I didn't want you to get hurt because I need something, it just…" "it just reminds me too much of back there, it's like I'm treating you like a servant," she whispered the last as for Gray not to hear it, a few tears falling from her eye's, too afraid to look up she heard a deep heavy sigh before Natsu spoke again, "Look up at me," he said grabbing her chin softly, as she let his hand pick her head up she was face to face with him until she was bonked on the head with the hilt of his katana, "OW!" she shouted rubbing the top of her head, her lips pointed out into a pout, her cheeks flushed, "what was that for?" Natsu put his sheath back in his harness and smiled at her, his warmth returning he leaned in slightly.
"Look Lucy, I'm not being paid to do this okay, I'm here because I want to be, if you wanna go out on a simple mission like cleaning that's fine, I'm still going to tag along," he said smiling at her softly "Then if you want to go on a super dangerous mission because of a celestial key then I'm still going to be there, that won't change," he said patting her on the head "So we got an understanding?" he said extending his arm out, Lucy looked up at him and smiled "Yeah," she said smiling back at him.
*AHEM* Gray cleared his throat getting both their attention, "If you two are done we need to go find the village, it's already getting dark," he said pointing up, it was true as well the sky was dimming as the sun began to set behind the horizon "Yeah lets get going," Natsu said finishing off his coconut he had placed in the sand and throwing it to the ground, the other two falling in behind him, "Hey Natsu you got another one of them?" Gray asked from behind him as he noticed Lucy sipping on one
Natsu rummaged into his pocket, magically pulling one out of there, and handing it to Gray, Gray looked at the coconut, then to Lucy who shrugged and kept drinking then to Natsu, "I don't even wanna know," he said as began to drink from it.
"Hey Natsu," Lucy said running up to him, "How did you know we were even here, and what the rewards were?" she asked finishing off her drink, "Lucy, you live in the apartment next to me…the walls are very thin," he said chuckling abit at the end, "So when you shout 'Where do I sign up' at 11 pm at night, of course I'm going to know, I heard the whole thing," Lucy flushed red as she looked away from Natsu.
Gray and Happy both looked at each other before Happy snickered to himself and flew in between the two, "You like each other," Happy cooed out, "Shut up you stupid cat!" Lucy screamed as she kicked grabbed the cat by the tail and covered its mouth, her cheeks the same colour as Erza's hair,
All of a sudden Natsu stopped walking "We're here," he said as Lucy stopped strangling happy and let go of the cat, Gray walked in line with Natsu as they stared up at a huge wooden wall, "HEY!" Gray shouted, "what are you doing?" Lucy asked him, "What we might as well let 'em know we're here," Gray said shrugging, Happy looked at the wall before seeing a sign, tapping Natsu on the shoulder, he pointed the sign out to him, "Huh 'Keep out' well isn't that just inviting," he said placing his hands in his pockets, as he said that two guards poked there heads over the wall, "Who's there," one of the heads shouted, "Were wizards from the fairy tail guild!" Lucy shouted up at the pair.
"No one notified us the job was accepted!" the guard said from up top, "Ahh well…" Lucy stumbled racking her brain for an answer when Natsu spoke up "Probably just a mix-up with the paperwork!" he answered, the guards still sceptical shouted down again "Show us your emblems!" they asked, they all nodded and showed the guards their emblems, "There the real thing!" one of the guards said surprised.
The gates began to open as the ground rumbled underneath them, "It's like we're going into the mouth of a really big monster," Happy said from Natsu's shoulder where he had decided to perch, "Don't say things like that!" Lucy whisper shouted at him, the group were greeted by the entire village gathered near the entrance, each person covered in a garb of some sort hiding their body all except for their eyes, as the group approached the villagers the small one front and centre spoke up.
"I am Moka, the chief of this island. Let's get right down to business, please take a look," he explained to the group, turning around he spoke to his people "Everyone!" he boomed out to the crowd, one by one each villager took off their garb, revealing their transformations, all the same, or similar to the sailor from the boat, "Just like the man from the boat," Gray said quietly, "Yeah," Lucy said agreeing with him, Natsu looked upon the villagers, his face flat as he looked at each one, one by one.
"Everything on the island is affected by this curse, the dogs the cats, even the birds," the Moka continued to explain, "Not to question you but what makes you believe it's a curse?" Gray asked, "Couldn't it just be a disease?" he added on, Moka shook his head, "We have consulted dozens of doctors, but they say no such disease exists," he said solemnly, "Plus the moons magic has something to with us taking these forms," he said confidently "The moons magic?" Lucy asked confused.
"This island has absorbed moonlight since ancient times, it made the entire island shine beautifully like moonlight," he said fondly, "However some years ago the moonlight turned purple!" he said exclaimed "Purple?" Natsu spoke for the first time, "You sure old man?" Natsu asked again, the village chief looked up as the moon came out "See for yourself young lad," as he said that a purple hue suddenly overcame the island, Natsu looked up at the sky seemingly searching for something, Lucy noticed and tugged on his sleeve, "What are you looking for?" she asked him, Natsu looked at her from the corner of his eye "nothing for now," he said she turned her eyes to look at the moon again still in disbelief, "The moon really is purple," she said entranced "Now this is creepy…"Gray added.
"It's a curse, this is the moon's magic," he said confusing the group, when all of a sudden, he began to change, no everyone started to change, their bones cracking and moving about in their bodies as they transformed, "What the…!" Gray asked beyond surprised, Lucy moved behind Natsu "What in the world," she said slowly, "Well isn't that just great," Natsu said stuffing his hands in his pockets.
After they had finished transforming Moka spoke up, "Sorry for the shock," he said sadly, "What in the world is this?" Gray asked, "You poor people," Lucy said shocked, Natsu, his hands still in his pockets looked at the villagers before sighing.
"Come morning we will all be human again, but some…some never change back and lose their minds," he said his voice becoming more harrowing by the second "So we have a rule…we kill those who lose their minds," He said ashamed, "Wha-," Gray was lost for words, "Why? They might turn back to normal later!" Lucy stepped out in front upset and slightly angry people are treated that way.
"We have to, otherwise they will kill us!" Moka explained, "How many?" Natsu asked, his arms crossed across his chest, "Only one so far…my own son" Moka said as tears dropped onto the picture he had just pulled out, "That man!" Lucy said confused, Natsu looked at her and pulled her to one side, "What is it?" he asked, "He was the one who took us here, he disappeared on the boat when we got swept up by a huge wave," Lucy turned around to tell them when Gray put a finger to his lips "I realised why that man disappeared earlier," he put his head up and looked around making sure the villagers couldn't hear him "It was a ghost!" he whisper shouted at Lucy, "He couldn't rest in peace," Gray added looking at the ground, Lucy's eyes went wide when she heard this 'A Ghost' she thought, they both looked at the ground when they heard Natsu sigh heavily, but he didn't speak.
"Please save this island! It's only a matter of time till we all lose our minds and become demons…!" He pleaded his head bowed and tears in his eyes.
"Oi Old man," Natsu spoke up his hands in his pockets "We'll fix your problem, don't you worry," he said smiling softly.
"But there's only one way to lift the curse…the moon…destroy the moon!" he said again bowing his head in shame, Lucy, Gray and Happy all went wide-eyed 'Destroy the moon!?' Natsu stared at the man before looking up at the moon, he put his finger to his chin, staring at the moon for a good few seconds then looked back at Moka "Give me a day" he said smiling, Lucy, Happy and Gray all slowly turned to face Natsu sweat dripping down their faces, "HEH!?"

Sat in one of the buildings of the village Natsu, Gray, Lucy and Happy all sat
"What do you mean we're going to destroy the moon?" Gray asked confused, Lucy nodded, her hands on her hips, Natsu sighed pulling out a bottle from his pocket, "And how are you doing that!" Gray asked, he had one too many questions, "What it's just basic reequip magic," he said sick of being asked, "Wh-what, but you're a fire mage!" Gray said now confused, Natsu sighed pulling his hand out of his pocket and reequipped a bottle of rum this time into his hand, "People can learn lots of different magics yah know, it's like riding a bike or driving a magic car, you're not going to forget it once you learn it," he said taking a swig of his drink, "So how many do you know?" Lucy asked amazed, "Oh yah know only a few," Natsu said rubbing the back of his neck and smiling, Gray sighed before sitting down on the bed, "Anyway, so how are we going to destroy the moon?" he asked Natsu.
Natsu looked at happy who was staring out the window, "Happy close the window," Natsu said, Happy complied and went over to Lucy and snuggled into her lap, "Truth is…were not," he said taking another sip, he gestured his hand telling them to wait to talk while he drank though, "I have had my theories as to why they look like they do now, but after seeing them transform, I'm sure of it…these people aren't humans, there demons…" He said taking another swig…
"What?" Gray and Lucy asked simultaneously, "Have either of you heard of the moon drip ceremony," he asked both, they both shook their heads, again simultaneously, Natsu sighed and closed his eyes, "It's a powerful spell that can remove any spell, even spells that are supposed to be unremovable, it uses ultra-focused moonlight to deactivate them, but it also has a nasty bi-product too. It can create a miasma that solidifies in the upper atmosphere that if left alone can cause side effects like memory alteration and body alteration," he explained, opening his eyes, he saw Lucy writing things down and taking notes, while Gray was in dreamland "Anyway, Moka said that this started happening a few years back yeah, Moon drip can take years to remove spells, especially powerful one's, so since he said its been a few year's there is probably someone or something trying to remove a pretty powerful spell, my guess is probably the temple on the island," he said crossing his arm's," Lucy looked amazed 'H-he's really really smart what the hell!' "What do you mean temple?" Gray asked after he had come back to reality, "Galuna island is famous for the fact it converts moonlight, people hundreds of years ago used to come here to worship the moon as their pseudo god, beats me why but, each to their own I guess," he looked at two before sighing, "You two need to take a history lesson, go talk to that book chick, the one with the two hype men always around her…anyway, we'll go to the temple tomorrow first thing so get some sleep,"
Natsu walked outside the building and sat down up against the building, suddenly hearing loud snoring noises from inside "Jeez Gray and Happy cant half snore," he said to himself chuckling, after about 30 minutes Lucy came outside too, her blanket in hand, she opened the door to see Natsu staring up at the sky, "Don't blame you I wouldn't be able to get a second of sleep in there," he whispered to her.
She giggled sitting down next to him "Yeah, it's like being in the middle of a storm," she whispered over to him, he chuckled quietly before looking back up at the sky, "So you gonna tell me anymore of the magic you know," she asked intrigued "I'll tell you three," he said holding his fingers up, "But you cant tell me about the ones I already know about," she added quickly, Natsu looked at her before grumbling about ruining his plans, he sighed and put the palm of his hand of his hand out, "So first very basic, Wind," he said as the leaves around them swirled around them, "I got taught by some monks up in the floating temples of Seven, even though they were monks boy were they funny," he said chuckling remembering his time there "Next, I know lighting magic as well," he said as sparks danced off of his arm, "Woah," she said putting her hand over his arm, as lighting danced of her skin, "it tickles," she said giggling, "and the last one for tonight," he said raising his hand as he placed it over her forehead, "Sleep" as he cast his spell, Lucy's eyes fluttered closed as she fell against his shoulder and fell to sleep.
He sighed as he picked her up, her blanket keeping her from the cold, he opened the door and walked inside, walking into the building his ears were assaulted by snoring, "Jeez you guys are loud," he placed Lucy down on the bed and walked back outside and after abit fell to sleep himself.

The next morning: 12 pm
"Natsuuuu," Lucy and Happy whined, "How much longer? We've been walking for like 3 hours now," they asked as they walked through the forest, Natsu, who had a machete out, was cutting down the thick brush to make it easier to pass through, "Not long now only a few minutes…or hours…" he said scratching the back of his neck as he and Gray walked in tandem, "I'm sick of this," she whined summoning Horologium, ""Hey could you keep it down as well Natsu, I don't know what's outs there?" the young lady asks," Horologium said repeating Lucy's sentence "Hey Lucy are you sure you're using your sprits correctly?" Gray asked sweat dropping.
All of sudden Natsu stopped, un a quipping his machete, he placed his hand on the hilt of his katana, Gray seeing this got ready, all of sudden the ground began to rumble, and loud footsteps could be heard, ""what's happening" the young lady asks," All of sudden Gray went wide-eyed as he stared upon what looked to be, "it's a giant rat," Happy said pointing at the huge beast.
"Gray freeze the ground now," Natsu said unsheathing his blade, Gray nodded and placed his hands on the ground
"Ice make Floor" The rat tried to charge at the group but doing so it ended up slipping and knocking itself out, Natsu stood there for a few seconds before sheathing his blade and sighing "That was anticlimactic, good job Gray," he said patting him on the back as he walked past "Also pick your shirt up and put it back on," he said as he stuffed his hands in his pockets, as Gray went off to find his shirt Natsu looked around, all of sudden his eyes locking on to some stone, but not any stone, "Huh strange, never mind were here," as he walked through a set of tree's on the other side lay the temple, "I'm afraid my times up, goodbye for now," Horologium said as he disappeared, Lucy stood up and walked towards the temple behind Natsu and Gray.
As the 4 walked into the temple, they saw carvings of the moon everywhere, "Woah, it really was a temple to praise the moon," Lucy said looking at the drawings on the wall's "Yeah but be careful this temple is really old so*Crack*…Gray, please don't tell me that was the floor breaking apart," Natsu asked as he looked at Gray who was sweating profusely "Aha," he said rubbing the back of his neck.
All of a sudden the floor gave way revealing a huge pitfall, Natsu quickly grabbed a hold of Lucy, "Happy grab Gray I'll be fine!" he shouted as they fell, "AYE!" the cat replied as they approached the bottom Natsu summoned wind around him, as they approached the floor there decent slowed down more and more, as they touched the bottom it was as if they hadn't been falling at all, "Thank you Natsu, you can let go now," Lucy said hiding her face in her in hands, "Huh?" Natsu looked at his hand to see it was firmly grabbing her breast, "Oh," he quickly let her down and looked over to see Happy safely carry Gray down, "We all good," he said checking on the group, Gray looked at him putting his thumbs up and walking towards him, while Lucy was looking away her face bright red, Grey looked at him raising his eyebrow, "Girls," he said shrugging, "C'mon Lucy, let's try to get out of here, we could get back up…but I have a feeling there's something here," Natsu wasn't lying he could feel something, it was definitely dormant, but it was powerful, as Lucy shook herself out of her stupor she caught up with Happy, Gray and Natsu, "So what do you think's down here" she asked Natsu, too which he simply shrugged, they turned a corner and two of the four in the group stopped dead still.
"What is that?" Lucy asked terrified, in front of them was a huge creature trapped in ice, with huge claws and razor-sharp teeth, hard scales lining its body, and on its back especially dense ones leading down to a spiky tail.
"Wh-what th-the…" Gray's mouth was agape, he was terrified, confused, and angry all at the same time, Natsu stood staring at the beast, his face impassive, he walked towards it slowly getting to the edge of the cliff, "You're a long way away from Brago," Natsu said surprising Lucy and Happy, but especially Gray, "How?" Gray said through gritted teeth, "How do you know Delioras supposed to be in Brago!?" Gray screamed at him, Natsu looked at Gray for a few seconds before looking back at the demon, "The demon of destruction Deliora, captured by Ur Milkovich in the year X774," Gray went wide-eyed as he remembered the day, the day his teacher sacrificed herself, the day he regretted the most, the day he saw the man in the cloak…that's when it hit Gray.
Gray trembling now he stared at Natsu eye's wide "Impossible," "I know what happened because I was there," Natsu said affirming Gray's theory, Natsu stared at Gray for a few seconds before it clicked for Natsu as well 'now the maker magic makes sense', he turned away from Gray and stared at the demon again, "I arrived too late to stop it…but turns out the demon had already been not defeated…but captured," he said slowly "It was captured in a powerful ice spell called iced shell, one that transforms the soul of the caster into an ice prison, a spell that was forbidden," he said clenching his fist, but none the less continued his story "I found two kids lying on the floor fast asleep…they'd both been crying, I took them to the nearest shelter, just before I got there though… one of them woke up, he looked up at me, he looked like he was about just ready to break," he turned around to see Gray looking up at him, the expression's matching perfectly in his mind "That was you…wasn't it Gray?"
