Frozen in time
The memory of you and I
A distant past
Forever in my mind
One Year Later…
"God I hate packing." Elliot said with a huff, "Especially when it's not my own crap."
Olivia walked up behind him and pinched his side, "You're the one that said we needed to take the next step. And by the way, the box you're carrying…is for your eyes only. But if you're gonna complain about it…I can toss it."
She went to take the box from him and he turned, "No. Mine."
Rolling her eyes she laughed and looked around her now mostly empty bedroom, "That's what I thought…"
Opening the top, he peeked inside and saw some of his particular favorite pieces. Lace upon lace in all different colors and he smirked, "Living with you is gonna be fun."
She was lost in thought and turned to look at him, "Hm?"
He saw the emotion on her face and he smiled, placing the box down at his feet, he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, "This is gonna be good Liv…I promise."
Sighing, she leaned back against his chest and nodded, holding his arms around her body, "I know. I'm ready…it's just Noah grew up here…" She paused for a moment and whispered, "Hell…I grew up here. I got my life together here. Just feels a little weird…" She could feel it in his body language that he was nervous, and slowly she turned to look at him, "But…I'm ready." He stared at her, still unsure, pushing up on her toes she kissed his lips softly, "I promise El. I'm ready…this is the best move for our families. The back and forth was taking its toll on the boys. This way…we're all under one roof."
"We're just lucky we found a place that can fit the five of us." He smiled, "Bless you for allowing my Mom to live with us by the way."
"El, of course it's okay. She's your Mom. And she should be surrounded by family. Besides, Noah loves his Grandma B and wants to spend every minute he can with her." She said with a smile.
Elliot's heart fluttered in his chest, "The first time he called her that…" Sighing softly he shrugged, "I love that kid Liv. I love him more than you know."
Her cheeks flushed, tears welled in her eyes and she held his face firmly in her hands, "I know." She kissed him with her eyes wide open and said, "And trust me when I say…he loves you too."
"Good." He whispered as she pulled away and started to look around again to see if anything else was missing, "We're gonna be happy Liv. All of us are going to be happy."
Peeking at him over her shoulder she winked, "I know babe. I know." Taking a deep breath she ran her hands along her thighs and said, "I think…we're ready to go."
Elliot lifted the box once more and shook his head, "Actually…you forgot something."
Frowning, she looked at him and then followed his gaze until it landed on one of the built-in shelves on the wall. And there she saw two picture frames. One held the picture of her, Cragen and Elliot so long ago. The second was of the two of them last easter. They'd all gone for a walk after dinner and Elliot had picked up a bouquet of flowers, handing it to her. In her green dress and her jean jacket, she'd wrapped her arm through his and Kathleen had snapped a candid photo. A few days later she dropped it off to Liv at the precinct and they had never looked back…
Walking over to it, her shoes clicked on the hardwood floor. Reaching out, she took the two frames in her hands and smiled at them both. So much had changed over the years, but one thing never changed. How much she loved him. "Ready?"
Looking back at him she smiled, nodding her head and answering honestly, "Ready."
Holding the box against his hip, he held his hand out to her. Bending down by the door, she picked up her bag and slipped the two frames inside before taking his hand and following him outside. Locking up the apartment for the last time, she passed the key to her landlord, said her goodbyes and didn't feel the need to look back. Together they rode the elevator down, climbed into his car before he started to drive away.
"Alright, so the plan is we drop these last few things off at the new place. Noah, Eli and my Mom are at my place. We got kicked out for dinner." He said with a smile. "Which is good because I have other plans."
She glanced over at him and frowned, "What plans?"
Reaching for her hand, he lifted it and kissed her palm, "You'll see."
Leaning her head against the headrest she smiled, "You're a good man Stabler, did you know that?"
"I'm a good man because of you." He said, she went to open her mouth to protest but he shook his head, "You make me better Liv. You always have. Even when we were apart…knowing you, meeting you, changed me for the better."
"We changed each other for the better, partner." She spoke with a twinkle in her eye.
Smirking, he held his fist out and whispered, "Partner's for life…"
A little laugh escaped her lips and she smiled, bumping her first with his, "Partner's for life."
An hour later, they pulled up in front of a nice restaurant in Manhattan. Elliot exited the car first and she knew better than to try and get out herself. Though it had taken a while to get used to, she knew that it was important to him to be chivalrous, to feel like he was taking care of her when he could. And she had to admit that sometimes it felt nice to be doted on. Slipping her hand into his, he pulled her out of the front seat and she smiled, "Thank you."
He winked, leaned in and gave her cheek a kiss, "So…I hope you weren't set on having dinner with just me."
Frowning, she let him hold the door open for her, "We're meeting someone?"
"A few people actually." He said with a nervous smile as he pointed ahead.
Slowly, her gaze looked forward and instantly a smile grew on her face. Sitting in the corner were three of her favorite guys in the whole world, "El…"
He smiled and pressed his hand into her back, kissing her temple, "I finally nailed a night down when all of us were free."
They'd had dinner with each of them individually and a few times with others, but not just the five of them. And as they walked, her heart was pounding, her head swarming with so many different emotions and memories. All three of them stood to greet her, Fin hanging back to let his friends get their time first since he saw her daily.
"Hey kid." Don said as he kissed her cheek, "Really moving in with this asshole?" He teased.
Olivia laughed and wiped a stray tear away though no one said a word because it meant just as much to them as it did her to be here together. "Looks like it! But only because this guy turned me down first…" she said pointing at John.
John and the other men laughed as he pulled her in for a hug, "Hello Captain Benson. You know I only turned you down because I knew I would never be good enough for you."
She laughed and shook her head, "Oh really? That's the reason?"
"Yes." He looked at Elliot, pointing at him, "Not sure he is either."
"I know I'm not good enough." Elliot said with a smile, "Thats why I trapped her now. She's still a bit in the honeymoon phase."
Olivia smacked him playfully, "You shush." Looking between them she took a deep breath and then said, "At least I'm still the prettiest out of this group but God we are old…"
Everyone laughed again and then Fin gestured to the table, "Well let's sit before we get any older."
Settling into their seats around the table, Elliot's hand reached for hers and she squeezed gently. A silent thank you for making this happen. "So…" All eyes turned to Don, "What dumbass thing did you four do now that I have to dig you out of?"
They all smiled, "How much time do you have?" John asked, "My list is long…"
Fin chuckled, "Yeah…did I see your face on a wanted poster down in Brooklyn last week? You start some underground anti government group? You be careful now…Stabler traded in sex crimes for more global terrorism issues."
Elliot smirked at his old friend, "Don't worry John…I've sent them in a different direction. You're safe."
"I appreciate that. Good to have friends in high places." He said with a smile, "Still liking the new gig?"
Elliot leaned back, draping his arm around Olivia and pulling her close out of instinct. His hand reached for his beer, his fingers wrapped around the neck of the bottle and he nodded before taking a sip. Though he'd apologized, discussed and hashed out everything with these people, he still felt guilt. And he knew it was because they were important to him. It was hard to let go of that pain. When he felt Olivia place her hand on his thigh and squeeze, he looked at her and her eyes said it all. Don't live with regrets. It was what brought them here, and she was right.
Taking a breath he said, "It keeps me on my toes, that's for sure. And I'll admit…I needed a break from the sexual deviants." He looked at Olivia and Fin, "I don't know how you two have been able to stay this long…"
"Someone's gotta do it." Fin said with a lift of his shoulders, "Besides, I told Liv, as long as she's there I'm staying. Aside from Don, there is no one else I'd rather work for."
Olivia's cheeks blushed, "You're not getting a raise Fin, so don't feel the need to sweet talk me." Everyone smirked and she shrugged, "It's draining, that's for damn sure. And there have been plenty of times I've thought about doing something different. But…"
"But…" Don said with a smile, "It's your house now Benson…you're right where you were meant to be. I always knew it."
She fidgeted uncomfortably in her seat, "I don't know about that…"
"He's right." All three of the other men who said it, her head snapped up and they all laughed.
Her cheeks blushed and she shook her head, "Okay let's not-"
"Actually…let's." Fin said with a smile, "We all know that you were the heart of the team Liv. John said it too. You made us better…kept us going. Kept us sane. There's no one better than you."
"I agree." John said quickly, "As soon as you showed up…I knew you were meant to be there. I had a feeling. Members of the team came and went while I was there…" He put his hand up, "And yes, we can all make jokes about how long I was there but you two are about to give me a run for my money." He said pointing at Olivia and FIn, "You walked in ready…confident, sure of yourself. And if you weren't…none of us ever saw you sweat."
"Not to mention the fact…" Don piped in quickly, "You sure put this one in his place from day one."
All eyes turned to Elliot and his eyes went wide and he smiled nervously, "Oh here we go…the infamous story."
"Never gets old." Fin said with a smirk, "Especially since I wasn't there. Tell it again Cap."
Don smirked and leaned against the table, pushing his water glass aside, "It was a cool fall day in 98 when she walked in. I'd already interviewed her and I knew right away I wanted her on the team. But…the only concern I had was if she'd be able to handle this stubborn asshole over here."
Everyone was laughing, even Elliot, "Yes, yes, I was unstable. Which you all find funny because my name is-"
"Stabler." They all finished for him with a teasing smiling.
Rolling his eyes he turned to his former boss, not feeling angry as he might once have. Instead, he felt grateful and knew that he was right, "Keep going…"
"He'd scared off four other partners in the last few months and I was at the end of my rope. Didn't want to get rid of him because despite his faults…" He said with a smirk, "There was no one better than him…he just needed the right partner. And…" He looked over at Olivia, "She showed up just in time."
Olivia slipped her hand into Elliot's and squeezed, listening to her former boss, mentor and friend, "Cap…"
He shook his head, "He had been on a three day bender…and I called Olivia in early because we needed help. There was something we were missing but we couldn't figure out what it was. I gestured to Benson to come over, she was smiling, ready to meet her partner and jump in. And Stabler barely looked at her because he was too focused. He shook her hand, looked pissed and it wasn't until he finally looked up that he stopped…"
"Because he was too stunned to speak. Her beauty overwhelmed him." Fin said with a holler of laughter.
Olivia smirked and leaned into Elliot who sighed, "Hm…"
"I saw it. And for a second…" Don said with a little laugh, "I thought to myself…oh you're playing with fire here Don. They're attracted to each other. It was so clear." He sighed and then shrugged, "But…I bit my tongue. And then, Stabler got defensive a few hours in when she tried to help."
Elliot rolled his head side to side, "I wanted to catch the guy…"
"And you did." Don said with a smile, "We did. Because Olivia found the missing piece…"
Olivia blushed and looked down, "Sometimes all you need is a fresh pair of eyes on something. I wasn't trying to overstep any boundaries…"
"But that's what he accused you of." John said with a smile, "Because of his stubborn pride. I believe he said…'Listen sweetie, I know you're excited to be here, but I think I know a bit more than you."
Elliot smirked and threaded his fingers through hers remembering it all too well, "To which she replied, "Listen buddy, I don't know who you think you are, but if we're gonna be partners you should know to never call me sweetie again."
"Which you didn't." She said with a smile, "You listened."
"And then you dropped the real kicker." John said with a laugh, "You walked over, flipped the board right side up and said, 'And if you had listened to me twenty minutes ago, you would have known you guys were looking at this map upside down and what you're looking for…is right there." He pointed at her, "And you stabbed the board to the exact address and Elliot looked like he was gonna shit himself because he knew you were right."
Everyone laughed and Don mumbled, "Never seen a man cave so fast…he sat down on the edge of his desk and said, 'Damn."
"I still maintain that he was more turned on than anything else." John added.
Everyone looked over at him and Elliot smirked, "I plead the fifth on that…"
Olivia laughed and leaned into him, "No denying it El…you wanted me."
He narrowed his eyes at her and whispered, "You're lucky I love you Benson."
She smiled and looked at her former boss, 'As much as we love to tease…" She smiled, "Elliot was the best partner for me too. He pushed me just as much as I pushed him and I am grateful that you put us together. Despite probably wanting to pull your hair out from time to time." Don gave her a look and she laughed, "Metaphorically of course."
Don smirked, "You know how many extra AA meetings I had to have over the years because of you four?" He said pointing at them all, "Not just you two." They all smiled but he shrugged, "But…at the end of the day I was proud to call you my team. And I wouldn't have changed a thing…I went to bat for all of you and I'd do it again." Lifting his glass he smiled, "Despite the hard times…the good times were that much better."
"I'll drink to that." Fin said, tapping their glasses all together, "To the two best bosses I ever had, Don and Benson. And to knowing I'll never have to take the reins because I'm pretty sure Olivia's gonna stay in that office until the day she dies…"
Everyone laughed again but Elliot shook his head, "Not if I have my way…"
Olivia looked over at him as she put her drink down, "What's that mean?"
"It means…" Leaning into her he smirked and kissed her softly, "That I plan on growing old with you and seeing the world. Can't do that sitting behind your desk Captain…"
She rolled her eyes and pushed him back, "Always making plans for us…" Her phone began to ring and she smiled, "Speaking of my job…" Lifting her phone she slipped out of the booth, "Be back in a minute."
"Tell Velasco and Rollins they can handle it on their own." Fin called out to her as she walked away.
She waved him off and slipped away to a quieter area of the restaurant. All four men watched her go, smiling proudly before they turned back to Elliot. "So…"
Elliot smirked and fidgeted in his seat, "So…?"
"When you called us you said there was a very specific reason you wanted us all here at the same time." John said with a smile, "So what is that reason?"
Elliot took a deep breath, looked over at Olivia and decided he had enough time to ask, "Before I say this…I want the three of you to know that I know how lucky I am to be with her. Especially considering how I left…that fact that she forgave me at all, welcomed me into her life in any capacity is a miracle. And while the two of us have decided to try and not live with regret…my biggest regret has been and always will be hurting her. Which is why…I will spend the rest of my life making sure she wants for nothing and feels loved and safe every second of every day."
"Which means you plan on spending forever with her." Fin said with a smile, "as more than just friends…"
Glancing at Olivia again he saw her walking outside to get more quiet space, "As much more than friends…" Reaching into his coat pocket he pulled out a box, "As…"
"Husband and wife." Don said with a smile, "Forever partners…"
Elliot sucked his lower lip in and whispered, "Partners for life…and even after."
John took the box and popped open the top, leaning in Fin whistled, "How could she say no to that?"
He fidgeted nervously on his seat and shrugged, "Oh she might…and she has reason too. I mean we've talked about it but I still won't blame her if she says no."
"She won't say no." All eyes turned to Don, and it was clear he had tears in his eyes, "She won't say no, son. It was always going to be you."
Elliot's heart pounded in his chest as he thought of the words he'd written in the letter. In a parallel Universe, it will always be you and I.
Even Cragen knew it. They were always meant to end up together. And God willing, she felt the same way. Swallowing hard he said, "So…the reason I wanted you all here was to make sure I had your blessing." He looked between the three of them, "The three of you mean the world to her. You're her family. And I know…how much you all care about her. So, I guess…I'm asking…do you approve?"
Don, John and Fin all looked at each other, serious expressions on their faces before slowly breaking out into smiles. "I say…" Fin held his hand out to him, "It's about damn time Stabler."
John held his own hand out and whispered, "Mazel my friend. Wishing you both nothing but happiness. You both deserve it."
Elliot smiled and whispered, "Thank you." He turned to Don, a man who had been so much more than a boss to both of them and whispered, "What do you say Cap?"
Clearing his throat, Don sat up straighter and then slowly extended his hand, "I say, treat her right. And remember…that she loves you too." Clasping Elliot's hand between both of his he smiled, "Be happy. Both of you."
"Thank you…" Elliot whispered softly, "Thank you Cap…"
Fin looked left and quickly said, "Incoming…"
Elliot grabbed the ring, slipped it in his pocket once more and saw Olivia walking towards them. All of them gave each other a knowing look, a look that said they understood, that they respected Elliot's choice and supported it every step of the way. Sliding in beside Elliot again, Olivia smiled, "What'd I miss?"
Elliot smiled and wrapped his arm around her again, "Just more teasing on my end…"
Olivia beamed at him, leaning in she kissed his cheek, "You're an easy target El. Don't take it personally."
He squeezed her shoulder and pressed his lips to her temple, "Yeah, yeah…I know."
"Everything okay boss?" Fin asked, "Am I getting called in?"
Olivia reached for her beer and took a sip, "No. Everything is fine. Some paperwork got dropped off for me that I need to sign before tomorrow morning. Since we're moving in…I think maybe we'll swing by after we leave here?" She asked looking at Elliot, "If you don't mind?"
Elliot shook his head, "Not at all. On the way anyway."
"Last night as non roommates…" John said with a smile, "You guys ready for this?"
Elliot twirled the beer bottle in his hands and nodded, "I'm more than ready…"
"What about you Benson?" John asked, "Ready to share your space? Noah's good with this too?"
She laughed, "Noah's been ready since day one…" She shook her head with a little smile, "As far as if I'm ready?" She looked over at Elliot and saw that he looked to be holding his breath, "Absolutely…"
Elliot winked, took a sip of his drink and knew that she was on the same page as him. And it felt good, damn good to know that all the stars were finally aligning for them.
After dinner and saying their goodbyes, they took off towards the precinct together in Elliot's car. Elliot had come to her work from time to time, but she knew it wasn't always easy for him to be there. But he did it for her. Because he loved her and for that, she was grateful. "I'll make it as quick as possible."
Elliot smiled and leaned his head against the back of his chair, "I'm good Liv." She went to move and he smiled, "I'm also coming with you."
She laughed and looked at him, "You don't have too."
"I want to." He said with a sigh as he climbed out, "It's late…" She gave him a look and he smiled, "And yes I'm aware you are here late most nights…but humor me would you?"
She just smirked and slipped her hand into his as they walked up the sidewalk towards the main entrance, "You're insufferable…"
"I just like spending time with my girl." He said with a smile as he dropped her hand and wrapped his arm around her, "Is that such a bad thing?"
She'd never admit it to anyone, but hearing him call her his girl made all the butterflies swarm in her belly. But it wouldn't feel the same if it was anyone else and she knew that. That's what told her he was the one. Knowing that the office was mostly empty, she didn't push him away, only held him closer as they walked into the squad room. The few Detectives working wouldn't give her a hard time, they just waved and smiled.
As they walked through the doors of her office, Elliot stepped to the side and watched her switch into Captain mode. She navigated her office like a pro, which she was. There was no one better at their job in his mind and he wished she could see herself the way he saw her. Sitting down behind her desk, she reached for the files left for her. His heart skipped a beat when she slipped on her glasses and an idea formed in his mind. She was chewing her lip softly as she sorted through the paperwork, signing her name where it was needed. And though to some it was probably such a simple action, to him it was sexy as all hell.
He must have made a noise because she lifted her head slowly to look at him, "You okay?"
Elliot jumped slightly and then whispered, "More than…"
Knowing him as well as she did, she recognized that look in his eyes, "Get a grip Stabler…"
He smirked and looked behind him, glad to see her blinds were shut, "You know the glasses are a weakness for me…"
Rolling her eyes, she saw him moving towards her, "Yeah well…get the idea out of your head. It's not going to happen."
Reaching over the back of her chair, his hands began to massage her neck gently, "Oh come on Captain…live a little." She moaned softly when he hit a particular tense spot, "Besides, there's no way you haven't thought about it."
Tilting her head backwards, she smiled up at him, "I didn't deny it…"
Leaning down, he kissed her upside down and whispered, "So…does that mean I can tempt you?"
She groaned and lowered her head down, "Oh, you can always tempt me Stabler…" He laughed softly behind her and began to massage her neck again, "But will I give in…that's another story."
"You know I love a good challenge." He pressed his fingers into her neck even more firmly, "And I don't give up…"
Biting her lip, she tried to focus on the papers in front of her even though she had signed everything already. He didn't know that. "Is that so?"
Bending down beside her seat, he reached for her hand, he pressed a kiss to the back of it and began to kiss his way up her arm. She shivered slightly and he smiled, pushing aside the collar of her shirt, sucking softly on her pulse point. Her hand gripped the pen in her hand tighter and she held her breath as his teeth grazed her jaw, "You are so sexy Captain Benson."
Shivering at his touch, her eyes fell shut, "You aren't playing fair El…"
He laughed and bit down on her neck, "Come on…let's live out some of our fantasies." She tensed and shrugged, "There are only two people here. And we can be quiet…" She shot him a look and he laughed, "When we need to be…like the first time when our kids and my Mom were just outside."
She whimpered again and felt him turning her chair towards him, "I'll get fired…"
"No you won't." He pressed his lips to the v at her neck, "You're the boss, remember?"
His hand slid between her legs, rubbing her through the jeans she was wearing and she knew he felt how warm she already was, "Fuck…"
He teased her through the material and licked his way up her neck again, "Come on baby…I know you want me."
She frowned and slowly reached for him, turning his head towards her, she crushed her lips to his as she growled, "You make me crazy…"
He laughed and lifted his fingers, flicking the button of her jeans, "Trust me when I say the feeling is mutual."
She felt him slide his hand down and start to tease her this time through her panties, "We have to be quick…"
He smirked at her, knowing she was already more than ready for him which meant she had probably been thinking about this before he even brought it up. And seeing as he got hard when she just looked at him a certain way, he was already ready to go, "I don't think that will be a problem babe…"
She huffed and lifted her hips so he could tug them down, knowing it might be the only item of clothing he removed right now, but at the moment she didn't care. She just wanted him inside of her as quick as possible, "El…"
Tossing the jeans to the side he leaned forward, pressing his lips against the lace garment, "Do you know how often I used to dream about everyone else leaving the precinct so I could have you all to myself?"
Her hands gripped the arms of her chair and she looked down at him, about to devour her with that talented mouth of his, "Elliot…"
Slowly shaking his head, his lips and nose created friction against her pussy and she jumped, "Almost every fucking day Liv…I can't remember a time when I didn't want you."
"Please." He lifted one of her legs, bending her knee over his shoulder and she whimpered again, "Please…"
He licked along her inner thigh, he glanced up at her and whispered, "What do you want Captain Benson? I need the words…"
She bit down hard on her lip and whispered, "Your mouth…" Pressing her back against her seat she continued, "On me…"
Shaking his head he bit down on her thigh making her jump, "You know I want to hear the words…where exactly do you want my mouth? I want to hear you say it…"
She smiled down at him, knowing the dirty talk turned him on more than anything, "Your mouth…on my pussy. Right fucking now Detective…."
Leaning in, he inhaled and slipped her panties to the side, "That's my girl…"
As soon as his lips touched her clit, she began to tremble, "Yes…Dear God yes…"
He smiled, wrapping his hips around her before swirling his tongue up and over her warmth, "You like when I do this Captain Benson? Especially here?" He moaned against her and she slid forward, letting him press more firmly against her, "You like when I fuck you with my mouth?"
Her hand fell to his head, gently caressing the top of his bare head, "You know I fucking love it." She inhaled sharply and gripped her breast through her shirt, "Feels so good…" She sighed, rolling her head to the side, "You make me so wet El…"
He smiled, sliding his tongue up inside of her, tasting all she had to offer, "Olivia…"
Her hips rocked back and forth slightly and he liked her slowly, "God it feels good…but I want more…" He looked up at her and she smiled wickedly, "I want…" Shaking her head, "El, I need your cock in me. Right. Now."
"So demanding." He said with a huff, she laughed and slipped her leg from his shoulder, "First you want my mouth on you…then you want my cock in you…"
She sat up slowly and beamed at him, "But I didn't say where…"
Slowly, he stood up and stared down at her, "Captain Benson…whatever are you suggesting?"
She shrugged and reached for his belt buckle, "We have to be quick. And you got a taste…so now it's my turn."
He stood in front of her, his hands behind his back as she pulled his cock from his pants, "You're in charge here Cap…"
She smirked and wrapped her hand around his cock, stroking him gently, "That's right Detective…I'm in charge." Leaning in, she licked the tip of him and said, "And I want your cock…in my mouth."
His mouth dropped open slightly and he sighed as his cock slipped between her lips, "Fuck babe…"
Her hand snaked up between them, cradling his balls she held him in her mouth, "Mmmm…"
Hearing a noise outside the office, his head snapped up and he growled, "Liv…"
She smirked and pulled back, his cock leaving her mouth with a slight pop before she began to stroke him again, "Do you honestly think I didn't lock the door behind us?"
His eyes went wide as he watched her lick him again, "So you already had a plan for this? When you sat here trying to pretend we couldn't do this…"
She smiled innocently up at him and shrugged, swirling her tongue around the tip of him, "Maybe…"
His eyes grew darker and he quickly reached for her, gripping her by her biceps. She stumbled slightly, but the heat pooled between her legs, dripping down her thighs. "Bend over Captain Benson…"
Smiling at him she tugged on his shirt, "I thought I was in charge…"
Shaking his head he sucked in his lower lip and he growled loudly, "Bend the fuck over Benson so I can bury my cock all the way inside of you like I know you want me too."
Pressing up on her toes, she kissed him hard, "Yes, sir."
His large hands gripped her hips, turning her around quickly before he bent her over the desk. She gasped, her arm knocking something off the desk, "Shit…"
Elliot laughed and looked towards the door again, "You sure you locked that?"
She smiled and spread her legs, feeling him align himself at her entrance, "Yes. But even if I didn't…right now I really wouldn't fucking care."
Teasing her slowly with the tip of himself he asked, "You want it?"
Her hands slid forward and she turned the picture of her son away from her, "God help me…but I do."
Elliot laughed at her movements, "Smart move Benson…smart move." And then he thrust forward, entering her completely, a loud grunt leaving his lips, "Fuck…"
Her hands curled around the front of her desk and squeezed tightly, "Yes…" She bent her head and dropped her forehead to the smooth surface, "Elliot…yes!"
He knew she was trying to be quiet but she wasn't going to be able to hold it in, "Liv…" He warned.
"El…" She pleaded, "I can't…"
He laughed, thrust forward and then wound his hand around the front of her, covering her mouth with his hand, "Be quiet Captain…"
She bit down on the inside of his palm as he thrust in and out of her, hard, fast, "Mmm…"
He gripped her hip with his free hand, his fingers digging into her skin, "You feel that? My cock buried so deep inside of you?" She grunted into his hand and he smirked, "I've got you bent over this desk in your office, fucking you?"
Her eyes closed tight and she bit harder on his hand making him gasp, "Fuck…" She mumbled.
Bending over her, he tugged on her ear gently, "Did you want this? All those years when we were partners? My cock inside of you? Did you want me?"
"Yes." The desk creaked under them and she was sure the few people outside could probably hear it but to hell with it, right now she didn't care, "God you know I did. Yes Elliot…I've always wanted this."
Pulling all the way out of her, he gripped her hips and lifted her off the desk again. She looked up at him, wide eyed, her legs shaking. Sitting down on her chair, he fisted his cock, stroking it slightly, "If you like to be in charge…why don't you take the reins for a bit."
Her chest rose and fell as she breathed, leaning forward slid her knees onto either side of him and climbed up on top of him, "Getting tired old man?"
He smiled and threaded his fingers through her hair, "No, I just like watching my girl take charge…" She rocked her hips back and forth and the tip of him slid across the length of her, "Such a fucking turn on…always has been."
Slowly, she sank down on top of him and gripped the back of her chair. They both moaned loudly as she began to ride him right there on her chair, "You like giving me control huh? You like when I take charge and fuck you?"
He smirked and leaned back in his chair, "Uh huh…I love that you want me. That you know what you want…and take it." Gripping the back of her head with one hand he pulled her lips to his, "You are the sexiest woman I have ever seen…" He panted, "And I'm so fucking glad you are mine."
She bounced on top of him, reaching for his hand she placed it firmly over her breast as she rode him hard and fast. The chair now creaking below them but neither one of them cared. In the beginning of their relationship, despite how hard and fast they'd gotten together that first day, it had taken a while for her to find her stride. It wasn't him of course. She wanted him more than anything. But she had to find her groove again, what she was comfortable with and what she wasn't. Had to fight through her emotions and fears, her scars, both physical and mental and he'd been there for all of it. His need, want, love, desire for her never wavering and it only made her love him more. But now, she wasn't afraid. She wanted him, and he wanted her and God that felt good.
She leaned over him, biting his lip as she rocked against him, "Elliot…"
He felt it building between both of them and pulled her hair, exposing her neck to him, "Come on baby…" He moaned against the hollow of her throat, "Let go…come for me. Come hard on my cock…"
Trying to breathe, she gripped the back of his neck, "Right there…fuck El…"
He smiled and let his teeth graze along her neck, he squeezed her breast hard knowing she liked it, "Olivia…"
Leaning forward, his cock slid across her clit and she shuddered, coming hard and fast. Knowing she wouldn't be able to hold it in, he tilted her head down and captured her lips with his, swallowing the moan that left her body. As soon as she clenched down around him, his own orgasm quickly erupted, the warmth of his release triggering a second round of pleasure for her. Both of them were breathing heavily as they tried to come down from their high, she rode him slowly as his hands settled on her hips, "Elliot…"
Smiling up at her, he pushed her hair back and whispered, "Much better than I ever could have dreamed of…"
A lazy smile grew on her face, and she caressed the sides of his face, "Damn…that was fun."
He kissed her lips again, and then her nose, "We should do that again sometime…"
Laughing, she pulled herself off of his lap, her knees cracking and s he sighed, "Simmer down Stabler…" Reaching for her bag she smirked, "This was a risky game…"
"But a fun one." He pointed at her, "You said it yourself." He adjusted himself as he watched her trying to clean herself up, "And anytime you want a late night booty call…" She shot him a look and he smirked, "You know where to find me."
"Yeah. At our new apartment. With a big bed." She said with a laugh.
"And my Mother and our boys…" He shrugged, "Either way there's risk…so you let me know which you prefer."
As she pulled her jeans up and over her hips, he leaned over her, "Elliot…"
"If you don't want me to fuck you anywhere and everywhere…" He smacked her ass playfully, "Don't look so damn good."
Sighing, she leaned against her desk, "What's wrong with us?"
Shaking his head he gently cradled her head in his hands and smiled, "We waited a long time for this Liv…and now that I've got you, I've got years to make up for. I can't get enough…"
Kissing him again, she pressed her hand to his chest, "Hey El?" He cocked his head to the side and waited for her to answer, "I don't know why you want me…" He went to protest but she shook her head, "But whatever the reason…" Sliding her fingers along his jaw she whispered, "I am so damn glad that you're mine."
He kissed her again and pulled back, pulling her by the hand so she stood up, "Come on…we have a big day tomorrow. A very big day."
And as they made their way out of the office no one dared to look at them and he knew they knew. But he didn't fucking care. Because tomorrow…tomorrow was the first day of the rest of their lives.
The next day passed in a blur of activity. They moved the last of Elliot, Eli and Bernie's things to the new place in Manhattan. They spent the afternoon unpacking, organizing and trying to settle in. Bernie had gone to bed early, completely wiped. Though she hadn't lifted anything, the activity of it all was a lot. Eli and Noah were settled in Eli's room playing on the xbox while Elliot and Olivia cleaned up the pizza boxes in the living room.
Elliot ran his hand down her back as she pulled away from the sink, "I'm gonna take a quick shower" Leaning over, she kissed his lips, " And then I plan on falling asleep and not moving for the next twelve hours…"
He smiled and squeezed her shoulder, "Good thing we both took tomorrow off too."
She kissed him again and smiled, "Think the boys will let us sleep in?" Elliot stared at her and she smiled, "Let me rephrase that…think Noah will let us sleep in?"
"I already promised him ice cream if he does." He said with a smirk.
She laughed, her nose scrunching up as she walked backwards, "You're a hell of a man Elliot Stabler…" She sighed and stretched her arms over her head, "I won't be long. Just need to rinse off…"
His heart started to beat a little faster, "Take all the time you need. I'll be here…"
She looked back at him and smiled, "Because we live together now…you don't have to go home."
"I am home." He whispered and her smile grew, "And so are you…"
Sighing happily, she turned and walked down the hall towards their bedroom and master bath. As soon as he knew she was gone, Noah, Eli and Bernie poked their heads out of their rooms and he smiled, "Is it time?" Noah asked.
Elliot nodded slowly and walked towards him, ruffling his hair he whispered, "It's time kid. You still good with this?"
"Absolutely." Noah replied, practically bouncing on his toes as he looked up at the man that would hopefully be his Father soon.
Elliot turned to his son, "And you?"
Eli shoved his hands in his pockets and nodded slowly, "Yeah Dad. This is good…I promise."
Elliot let out a shaky breath and then looked over at his Mom, she laughed, "Do you even need to ask me?"
Walking over to her, he kissed her cheek and walked towards the hallway, taking one of the boxes he had stashed away for this very occasion. Walking into the bedroom, he walked over to the bed and set it down. Turning towards his dresser, he grabbed a marker left over from earlier and opened the top drawer. Inside lay the ring box and a pad of post it notes. When they had gone through his Olivia box and her Elliot box as she called them, they had saved notes. And this was one he thought she might want to keep. Scribbling their initials on the side of the large box, he placed the ring box inside and beside it the note that read…
Will you marry me, Captain Benson?
And then, he sat down on the edge of the bed and waited. A few minutes later, she appeared dressed in her favorite leggings and one of his button down shirts. Her hair was thrown up in a messy ponytail, a few tendrils curling around her face. And just as always, she took his breath away. Yawning, she walked to her dresser and reached for her favorite face cream, "God I am exhausted…and I hope I never have to unpack another box again." Looking at him through the mirror she said, "We're staying here forever."
Elliot smiled and ran his sweaty palms against his knees, "I'm okay with that. But…"
"But?" She turned to him, eyebrow raised and put the container back down beside her, and then she saw the box, "I thought we were all done?"
Elliot shrugged, smiling nervously, "Found one last one…thought we should open this particular one together…"
Her mind wandered back in time, to the year before when they'd both revealed their boxes of memories. All the things that reminded them of each other, the things they'd packed away assuming they had to put it all in the past. Something about the way he was looking at her made her heart jump in her chest. Her hands shook and she looked at the box, seeing the same letters he had written on his box, EO but beside it, there was a little heart. " El…"
Biting his lip, he reached for her, "Come here…"
Pushing herself away from the dresser, she stepped towards him and he took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. The box was large, but she could tell whatever was in it was small and the tears began to burn in her eyes. Gripping the edge of the box, she looked down and gasped when she saw the little black box, "Elliot…"
Feeling his own emotions building, he put his hand on her lower back, "There's a note…"
Leaning in, she took the small yellow piece of paper out and whispered, "Will you marry me, Captain Benson?"
Slowly, he pushed himself off the bed and kissed the side of her face. Reaching into the box, he took the black velvet one and slowly began to kneel down beside her, "Liv…"
"Oh my God…" She laughed through her tears, "Elliot…"
Lifting her hand, he kissed the back of her hand and whispered, "Last night you told me you don't know why I want you…" She turned her body towards him fully and he sighed, "And I can tell you that there was never a time when I didn't want you…I have loved you. Always." Tears streamed down her face and he didn't even try to hide his own, "Since the moment you walked into that precinct…you turned my world upside down. Made me see the world, the good parts, the things I'd been afraid to look for. The things I didn't think I deserved. You made me want more…pushed me to be better and do better." Taking a rattling breath he popped open the box and she gasped, "We said not to live with regrets…and I have stayed true to that as best I could the last year. But I will always regret hurting you." Slowly he took her hand and held it between them, "But, if you say yes I promise Liv…I will never leave you again. I will never hurt you…never turn my back on this partnership again. Because I need you. Because I love you. Because my life…is only worth it if you are beside me."
"El…" She whimpered softly, her knees shaking, overcome with so many emotions.
"So…that being said…" He cocked his head to the side and asked, "Will you marry me Captain Benson?"
Staring down at him, she saw it all, the past, the present and the future. All roads always led back to him, to them and there was only one answer. "Yes."
The smile that grew on his face was one she'd never seen before, a look of such happiness and a look that told her he meant every word. Sliding the ring on her finger, she quickly reached for him, bending at the waist so she could kiss him as he stood up in front of her. Pulling her against his body, he lifted her off the ground. They were both crying, both laughing before she pulled back, holding his face in her hands, "Elliot…"
Brushing her hair back he smiled, "Partners for life Liv…I meant that."
Shaking her head still in disbelief she leaned in and kissed him again as the door burst open and the boys and Bernie came in, "Partners for life…"
Noah grabbed her waist, hugging her tight. Looking down at her son, she saw the look on his face and knew that Elliot had discussed this with him. Then she looked at Eli, the young boy she helped bring into this world and he smiled, letting her know that this was okay with him too. Bernie beamed proudly at them and when she turned again, Elliot was lifting up Noah, "She said yes?"
Elliot laughed and nodded, "She said yes…"
"So…" Looking between his Mom and her new fiance he asked, "First day I met you what I should call you…we settled on Elliot…" He looked at his Mom and smiled, "For now…"
Olivia laughed and ran her fingers through his wild curls, "Noah…"
The young boy looked back at Elliot and asked, "But I was thinking…"
Elliot nodded slowly, "So was I…" Looking at Olivia and then at Noah he asked, "How does Dad sound to you?"
Olivia kept her eyes on the two of them, wondering how she had ended up here. Then again, maybe that's always where she was meant to be. Noah beamed at him and said, "Dad sounds good to me." He looked back at his Mom, "That okay with you Mom?"
Olivia leaned in, kissed Noah's cheek and then Elliot, "Yeah…that sounds good to me kid."
Bernie quickly pushed Eli towards them, "Oh get in there…let me take a picture of you all."
Eli settled in beside his Dad and Elliot looked at Olivia, "Another memory frozen in time…"
Olivia wrapped her arm around his waist and whispered, "The best memory…"
The four of them stood there, smiling at the camera. Tonight was the first night in their new home, their first night as a family. So much had changed over the years, but one thing would remain the same. Benson and Stabler. Partners for life.
