Good Morning Everybody! I know, it's crazy, it hasn't been a year yet, I can actually put out more than one chapter a year! All jokes about my speed of putting out recent chapters aside, here's the conclusion of the first of six Duels that make up this grand finale! There are implications for the Chaos Universe (as I have decided to title this Alternate Universe) that you will no doubt pick up on, but regardless, I know you all will enjoy how this particular Duel ends! Now enough prattle from me, let's get on with it shall we?

Chapter 44: The Burning Soul vs the Heart of Ice
Satellite Highway
Mina Simington was no stranger to the supernatural. She'd been witness to some of Rex Goodwin's rituals leading up to the recruitment of the Signers. She'd watched Yusei and Jack's first Duel in New Domino and bore witness to the Crimson Dragon making its appearance on national television. She'd driven Akiza around the Satellite during the attack of the Dark Signers and watched Yusei defeat the King of the Netherworld, ending the Dark Signer threat. She thought she'd seen it all. Then she'd gotten a call from Trudge on his way to the Satellite, having managed to convince Lazar somehow to take Delta Squad with him there. He'd hoped that she could provide some backup just in case things went south before he crossed the bridge. Not five minutes later, an emergency call from Delta Squad that Mina was desperately hoping was a bad prank had her and a couple of Sector Security officers en route to the Satellite.
Then the colorful light show expanded out from the Satellite and engulfed their vehicles as they were starting across the Daedalus Bridge. Mina could only watch in horror as the car next to hers swerved and crashed into the wall. Fortunately for the officers inside, the walls lining the Daedalus Bridge were much studier than their vehicles, preventing them from plunging the quarter mile down to the water below. Mina was then in for the shock of her life as she watched her coworker writhe on the ground in agony before turning into her ace monster, Athena, and start blasting white beams into the sky indiscriminately.
"This is so much worse than I thought," she breathed to herself, hearing the sudden explosion of screams and calls for backup over the police radio. She shut it off, unable to decipher the cacophony coming through the speakers. She was alone, on the Daedalus Bridge, with some weird light turning people into Duel Monsters. She wasn't prepared to handle something like this. Mina revved her engine, ready to retreat to headquarters and figure out what the heck was going on when her car lurched. She looked back and could only stare at the Horus the Black Flame Dragon that had grabbed the back of her car with its beak. This wasn't how she wanted to die! Mina quickly opened the door and leaped out before the car got too high to safely land. Her left high heel snapped on landing, causing her to buckle, but Mina rolled with the snap, tearing her business jacket as she quickly took off both her heels, as the uneven height between the shoes would've been too off-putting.
"This was my favorite jacket," she snapped angerly. At this point, she didn't have anything else she could do but run. Her car was totaled, her coworkers were either transformed by this weird radiation or fighting for their own lives, and she was forced to go on foot to get away from this Horus the Black Flame Dragon that had just gotten done tossing her personal Sector Security car off the bridge. The Dragon roared as it seemed to track her movements, blasting the ground a few yards in front of her with flames burning as black as the night. Mina turned around, facing the dragon with fear in her eyes. She was cut off, the only option that didn't involve incineration from the Black Flame Dragon being a desperate leap to the water below. Then another large figure leaped in the way and began wresting with the Horus Dragon, the two transformed humans ending up going over the side of the bridge.
"Was that…a Goyo Guardian?" Mina asked nobody in particular, blinking in surprise as she watched them tumble towards the water below. Despite the insane implications of what that particular Monster saving her meant Mina knew only one this was certain; this day was just going to get weirder.

The air in the room felt heavy, no doubt due to the cold temperatures. Jack Atlas watched his breath form clouds before him, something he rarely got to see thanks to the rigidly controlled climate systems in the Kaiba Dome as well as being hurried from place to place in the lap of luxury as Turbo King. He scowled as he felt the stinging reminder in his memory that he was King no longer, merely second fiddle to Yusei Fudo at the moment in the eyes of the public. The Wings Signer let that rage stoke, burning hotter as he tried not to shiver in the freezing cold. "It's my turn! I draw!" Jack looked at the card, anger flaring at his Deck. Tuner's Capture was not going to help here. 'Defender and Cryomancer block attacks from my Red Dragon Archfiend and I don't have any monsters at a low enough level and a high enough attack to break through that so Barrier Resonator, Mirror Resonator, Dread Dragon, and Vice Dragon are useless. Revival Gift is useless with his field full, Crimson Fire is useless since he's not doing effect damage, and Megamorph is useless since I can't attack!'
Cards Left in Deck: 10
"So are you going to Summon a monster that Red Dragon Archfiend will destroy during the End Phase?" Bario asked coldly, steely gaze boring into Jack. "Secret Guards prevents you from targeting Ice Barriers with monster effects, Dai-Sojo prevents destruction via Spells and Traps, so even if you pulled a Dark Hole from that Deck of yours you can't destroy my monsters."
Jack waved a hand dismissively. "I don't need a classic like Dark Hole to deal with the likes of you! A King has to make his Duels entertaining, striking back when the time is right!"
Bario waved at the empty frosted over gladiator stands that surrounded the two Duelists. "What crowd do you plan on entertaining? There's nobody here to witness and the only camera feeds that have any record of what's transpiring here are to the Master's chamber and to my personal computer."
"Then remind me to stop by your room after I've beaten you," Jack's retaliatory comment was smooth, the benefits of having bantered with hundreds of opponents in the Duel Arena. "I'll have something nice to show people when making my autobiography."
Bario raised an eyebrow. "Never mind how badly your first movie, Lord of the King, bombed after your loss to Yusei, right? I'm sure the masses are clamoring for an encore."
Jack rolled his eyes at the sarcasm. Lord of the King had barely made back its budget, because enough people still liked Red Dragon Archfiend, but it wasn't the whirlwind success he had been banking on. If only he'd been able to beat Yusei in that Fortune Cup finale. Now wasn't the time to regret misplays and previous losses though. He had two facedown cards on the field at the moment, Red Screen and Prideful Roar. Both were powerful Traps in their own, but also not what he needed at the moment. Power was what he lived for, the power to wipe out anyone in front of him, but his power was currently sealed, unable to attack at all. His anger roiled beneath the surface, burning in his gut and keeping his limbs from locking up in the freezing cold. "I'll take Yusei down when the chance comes. Until then, you're currently standing in my way and I'll strike when the time is right. Until then, I'll lay these two cards facedown and end my turn." They may have been bluffs, but perhaps if Bario spent resources destroying those Traps rather than going after his Deck, he could buy a turn or two more.
Bario's face remained impassive. "Your last few facedown cards haven't been activated, which leads me to believe they are some of your battle Traps which are to energize the crowd by powering up your Red Dragon Archfiend and make your legend grow. Those other cards can't do anything to stop the lockdown, your past Duels have been more than enough evidence of that."
"Do you really think I care that you've reviewed my past Duels?" Jack countered. "My strategies may be on display, but only one man has been able to slip past them! You are not that man, you are an assassin trying to strike down a king! Weak kings fall to assassins, strong kings such as myself can defeat anyone who dares try to stand in their way, be it through straight up battle like a warrior or in the shadows like the coward you are!"
Bario's eyes narrowed. "People who've been outwitted will call it cowardice, but those who have taken all the necessary steps to ensure victory in the actual battle are merely the best prepared. To charge blindly at an enemy trusting in your own skills, when you could've taken the time to scout the ideal terrain, to find the enemy's weak points, or simply to fortify their own position into a much stronger one, is foolhardy. You may win one battle, or a hundred battles, but eventually you will run into someone who is simply better, or your luck will have run out. All it takes is one bad day, or in the case of Duel Monsters, one bad hand, and you will fall." Another cold breeze blew across the arena to punctuate his statement.
Jack crossed his arms, taking care to not let his cards show to his opponent. "Bold of you to assume that I'm beaten. I have cards that can break your combo. But taking victory from your jaws of defeat will be all that more satisfactory the closer I get to defeat, so go ahead Bario, go for my Deck! You clearly can't go for my soul, Red Dragon Archfiend!"
"Your soul can stay right there," Bario said simply, drawing a card unceremoniously. "Tiyuki, Saboteur of the Ice Barrier's effect now activates." The Frigid Barricade flipped the card around. "Geomancer of the Ice Barrier is Level three, therefore you now discard three cards from your Deck." The female saboteur grabbed some bombs off her belt, throwing the ignited bombs with precision at Jack's Duel Disk. After the smoke from the explosion cleared, his Deck was glowing an icy blue.
The Wings Signer sent the three cards to the Graveyard with a scowl. "And so you continue to shrink from my power!"
Cards Left: 7
"Power is nothing when the foundation is eroded away," Bario countered. "Why take you on at your strength when your weakness makes for a much easier Duel?"
Jack's frown deepened. He clenched his fist tightly, nails digging deep enough to hurt through his gloves, but not enough to draw blood. "So you're saying you have no pride whatsoever, no pride in your abilities to take on anything that comes your way, no pride in your own skills to outmaneuver any opposition that comes your way! You're nothing more than a coward, striking from the shadows when your foe's back is turned!" His gut burned with rage at the thought. "Face me in battle like a true man!"
"No, I don't think I will," Bario said coldly as he inserted the last card into his Duel Disk. "I place one card facedown and end my turn." He didn't allow himself to smile, that would come after victory was secured. He had three facedown cards on the field; the Torrential Tribute that he just set (and his Ice Barriers were immune to that particular Trap thanks to Dai-Sojo of the Ice Barrier), Drowning Mirror Force just in case Jack pulled off some combination to get rid of all his monsters (or found a way to bypass them entirely), and a Floodgate Trap Hole just incase Jack tried to Summon another monster. With his monsters protecting themselves from any targeting Monster effects and all Spell and Trap effects, his position was solid. It wasn't perfection, no Duel Field ever really was, but it was about as good a situation as he was ever going to get. With Sacred Grounds of the Ice Barrier up, even if Jack miraculously managed to wipe the field of his monsters, they'd be back on the field soon enough.
Jack growled, frustration mounting. His Mark of the Crimson Dragon was pulsing with his anger, glowing brightly amidst swirling snowflakes. Something was growing within his rage, he could feel it. It wasn't that Scar-Red Nova Dragon he'd managed to bring out against Draco earlier today, that was different, some ancient evil that had tried to take advantage of him during a moment of desperation. That evil had slipped away after the Duel, a tempting taste of power that he would have to hunt down at a later date. "Fine, if you want to be the world's biggest chicken, you might as well forfeit this Duel now!" He would show Bario the rage of a true King.
The corner of Bario's mouth twitched, as though threatening to creep upward into a smile. His face remained impassive however. "Talk is all you have now, former King, and we both know from our past experiences that talk is cheap. How many times did Hunter Pace challenge you for the Turbo Title? I recall some snarky one-liners from him in the pre-game interview."
"The difference between Hunter Pace and Jack Atlas is that I can Duel circles around that buffoon!" Jack snapped. "It's my turn!" He drew a card and smirked.
Cards Left: 6
"You may have protected your monsters from Spells and Traps, but those three cards in your backrow are nice easy targets." Jack shouted as he inserted the card into his Duel Disk. "I activate the Spell Card Scarlet Security! Now since I control my Red Dragon Archfiend, all the Spells and Traps on your side of the Field are now destroyed!" His Dragon roared as flames gathered in its mouth. "Go Red Dragon Archfiend! Wipe out every Spell and Trap on his Field!" Red Dragon Archfiend spat out four fireballs, the first three wiping out the three facedown cards and the fourth fireball blew away the snowy aurora borealis that marked Sacred Grounds of the Ice Barrier. The snow melted and the stars faded, leaving behind the well-lit gladiator arena, albeit much more soaked than before and while the ice slowly started to creep back onto Bario's side of the field, Jacks field remained the sandy pit of the arena. "Tell me Bario, are you really that secure with your monster effects being the only thing guarding you?"
Defender of the Ice Barrier: Atk 200, Def 1600
Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier: Atk 1300, Def 0
Dai-Sojo of the Ice Barrier: Atk 1600, Def 2200
Secret Guards of the Ice Barrier: Atk 100, Def 1600
Tiyuki, Saboteur of the Ice Barrier: Atk 100, Def 900
"As secure as I'll ever be considering none of your monsters will be able to do anything to get over my defenses," the Frigid Barricade said simply, sounding unconcerned about the loss of his backrow. "Exploder Dragonwing needs to attack to use its effect, which both Defender and Cryomancer both prevent. The Red Wyvern you've used sparingly targets a Monster to destroy it, which my Secret Guards of the Ice Barrier prevents. Your Celestial Wolf Lord's effect only activates when it's destroyed. Red Rising Dragon has no pertinent effects that would effect the Monsters on the field, you have no way of breaking my Field Atlas."
"So you've done your homework on my Extra Deck as well," Jack shrugged. "A King's Duel will always be evolving, and I have more than just the five cards you've mentioned! But for now, I shall end my turn!"
"My turn, I draw," Bario said, plucking a card from his Deck. He glanced at it, cold blue eyes unreadable to Jack. "I activate the effect of Tiyuki, Saboteur of the Ice Barrier."
"And here we go again," the Wings Signer grumbled, anger threatening to boil over.
"By discarding the Level four Revealer of the Ice Barrier from my hand to the Graveyard, Tiyuki's effect forces you to discard four cards from your Deck to the Graveyard!" Bario announced, the Saboteur of the Ice Barrier punctuating his statement by flinging another handful of bombs at Jack. When the smoke cleared, Jack's Deck was glowing blue once more.
"I still have cards left!" Jack shouted defiantly, sending four cards to the Grave regardless.
Cards Left: 2
"You have one more turn to struggle futilely," Bario said simply, no cards left in his hand. "Cry in anger, in sadness, or whatever emotion you have left in you, but your reign ends here."
Something within Jack snapped, the flames of rage roaring within him. His Mark burned with his anger, glowing fiercely in the icy conditions. "Then why don't you end your turn and let me prove you dead wrong?!" he roared, a red glow overtaking his purple eyes.
Bario took note of that development, a sudden shiver of fear zipping down his spine. He clamped down on the emotion as quickly as it had came. The Crimson Dragon's power was nothing to sneeze at, as proven before in multiple battles against the Movement. Was it about to pull off another miracle? "I doubt you have the power to break my Ice Barriers. I end my turn."
Jack held his right arm over his chest, Mark of the Crimson Dragon glowing brightly. "My soul is raging! Your twisted crusade is over Bario!" His voice had a slight tinge to it, some godly power giving Jack strength. Bario surmised that the Crimson Dragon was channeling its energy through Jack. Jack continued his rant. "I'm going to avenge Crow and take you and your Movement down! It's my turn!" His hand began to burn with flames as he placed it on top of his Deck, the fire leaving the cards miraculously unharmed. "I draw!"
Cards Left: 1
'What is his miracle draw?' Bario wondered to himself, bracing himself.
Jack looked at the card with glowing red eyes, not concerned with the flames. "I Summon the Tuner Monster Chain Resonator in Attack mode!" A small little demon with a tuning fork in hand and chains coming from his back emerged from the ground in flames, pushing back the ice on the field as fire began to burn around Jack.
Chain Resonator: Atk 100, Def 100, LV 1
Jack blinked as he saw Chain Resonator glow with a red aura, indicating he could activate the Tuner Monster's ability. With one card left in his Deck, if nothing happened this turn, then Bario was no doubt going to send that last card to the Graveyard anyways, so he had nothing left to lose. "Chain Resonator's ability now activates since I successfully Summoned it! I can now Special Summon one Resonator monster directly from my Deck!" Chain Resonator snickered as the chains on its back began to move, twisting and turning until they formed a portal. Jack drew the last card from his Deck, knowing it was a Resonator monster and looked at it. "I Special Summon the Level one Tuner Monster Synkron Resonator from my Deck!"
"Your last card from your Deck," Bario said coldly as another little demon looking very similar to Chain Resonator appeared, however this Resonator had a green and yellow symbol attached to its back instead.
Cards Left: 0
Synkron Resonator: Atk 100, Def 300, LV 1
"It may be the last card, but that's all I need to take you down, assassin!" The Wings Signer shouted, holding his flaming hand over his heart once more. "I can feel it! My soul is blazing!" His eyes were completely filled with the glow of the power of the Crimson Dragon, a fearsome sight to behold.
'That's not enough levels for that Red Nova he created against Draco,' Bario thought to himself, 'So what will he Synchro Climb into? He's never had any Level nine Synchro monsters before!'
"Level one Synkron Resonator and Level one Chain Resonator now Double Tunes with my Red Dragon Archfiend!" Jack announced. Both Resonators turned into a singular fiery star which both expanded into twin rings of fire.
"Wait, you're Double Tuning?!" Bario was surprised and his emotional masked slipped, shock appearing on his features in the first showing of proper emotion since he'd appeared before the Signer.
"The King and the Devil shall now become one!" Jack chanted as his ace monster flew into the two fiery rings, folding his wings about him as the demonic dragon prepared to evolve. The two rings began to circle around Red Dragon Archfiend, infusing the dragon with power. "Call upon the soul of the Crimson Dragon and roar in the name of creation itself!" The Crimson Dragon itself appeared briefly behind the ongoing Summon, lending its power for this very moment. Jack held his blazing hand up and a glowing red card appeared in the flames, drawing the fire into itself as it formed into a proper card. A pillar of fire erupted from the ball of flames, blowing away all the snow on the battlefield. "Synchro Summon!" The ground shattered in front of Jack with flames scorching the entire room, buffeting both Bario and his legion of Ice Barriers. "Come forth! Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend!"
The newest addition to Jack's Red Demon's Dragon family was much larger than the original, with orange scales lining its four massive wings. The horns had grown longer, and looked as though they'd been dipped in lava with how bright red and orange they were. The end of the tail of Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend was shaped like a devil's pitchfork, all in all giving the new dragon a very fierce look.
Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend: Atk 3500, Def 3000, LV 10
"Impossible," Bario gasped, composing himself as he stared down Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend, who roared a challenge at all standing before him. "That card has never existed in your Extra Deck before."
Jack staggered, the red light leaving his eyes. Apparently the Crimson Dragon had used some energy from himself to make this card. He touched three fingers to his forehead, fighting the sudden dizziness. Jack shook himself, taking in his newest monster with pride. "No Bario, it did not, but the threat you've posed has force me to create a miracle! My Red Dragon Archfiend will not be stopped, least of all by the likes of you!" He played his newest Synchro Monster on his Duel Disk to finish the Summon, very satisfied with the results.
"Even if your Dragon is immune to my monster's effects, them being in Defense mode means you can't take out my Life Points!" Bario pointed out, assuming the potential effect of Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend. "You'll be done come your next turn."
"There is no next turn!" Jack shouted. "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend is currently unable to attack thanks to your monsters abilities, but that won't matter at all! I activate Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend's ability!" Flames began to gather around the fists of Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend as Jack made his move. "Once per turn, it can destroy every other card on the field except for itself!"
Bario's eyes grew wide. "What?!" Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend flew high into the air, reaching the ceiling of the large arena as flames swirling about his entire body.
"Go Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend!" Jack yelled. "Absolute Power Inferno!" His Synchro Monster dropped from the top of the room like a meteor, hitting the ground with a massive explosion focused towards the Ice Barrier monsters. Despite their desperate efforts to create barriers of ice, the Ice Barrier monsters were all destroyed by the flames. When the smoke cleared, the gladiatorial arena that had once been Julius' favorite place to Duel was a melted mess, molten sand forming glowing red puddles everywhere. Only Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend remained, looking very pleased with his handiwork.
Bario was stunned. The one chink in his field set up, blanket monster destruction, was the one ability that Jack had created with his Double Tuning. "So this is the power of a Signer," he said softly. He had one move left, a Trap that had been discarded to the Grave near the start of the Duel. It was his last gasp, the only thing standing between victory and defeat; the aptly named Last Stand of the Ice Barrier. It was a simple Trap, a Negate Attack while on the field, but once per Duel while in the Graveyard he could banish it to stop a direct attack and end the Battle Phase once more.
"This is not the power of a mere Signer," Jack corrected, holding his arm over his chest once more. "This is the roar of a King with the backing of his closest friends. Prepare yourself, for a King's anger has no mercy!"
"This is nothing more than the desperate cry of a deposed monarch," Bario countered coldly. "Your reign is over, your time is done."
"We'll see about that considering I'm the only one with a card on the field now," Jack snapped. His Synchro Monster roared, a challenge to anyone. "Battle! Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend! Attack Bario Directly!" His Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend inhaled deeply, preparing to attack.
"At this moment, my Trap in the Graveyard now activates!" Bario announced. "Last Stand of the Ice Barrier can activate from the Graveyard when I'm attacked directly. Now I can negate the attack and end the Battle-"
"USELESS!" Jack roared as a thin barrier of ice appeared in front of Bario. "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend's other effect lets me negate the activation of a Spell or Trap during either player's Battle Phase and destroy it!" His newest dragon flew forward, punching the icy barricade and shattering it into a thousand shards. Bario's eyes grew wide as Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend once again prepared to attack. "Then Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend gains five hundred Attack points for doing so!"
Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend Atk: 4000
Bario looked up at the towering demonic dragon looming over him, his last gasp rendered useless. "So be it." He closed his eyes. He'd done his job. He fought to the best of his ability. His family was hidden from the Master. Whatever happened now would be beyond his control.
"Now my dragon!" Jack commanded, a pitiless glare on his face. "Attack! Crimson Hell Tide Inferno!" Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend roared and blasted Bario with a barrage of flames, launching the Frigid Barricade into the back wall with a resounding crash.
Bario LP: 0
There was another crash as Bario peeled himself off the wall, an inch deep indent marking where he'd impacted. Jack beheld the man pushing himself to a knee, meeting his gaze with a steely glare of his own. "You've proven your point. I have but one final request." Bario felt the ice starting to creep up, locking his legs in place and causing his body to go numb.
"If I can grant it," Jack answered.
Bario gave Jack an address in New Domino. "I've worked hard to keep my family hidden from the likes of the Master. See to it that they remain away from his influence."
Jack narrowed his eyes. This man was a formidable foe, cold and calculating, and yet it was all to protect a family. The ice that was going to contain Bario in his 'ironic' punishment had creeped over his waist, Bario's skin starting to turn blue from the cold. "On my honor as a Duelist, and as a King, I will do everything in my power to keep them away from the Master."
Bario nodded, the ice reaching his chest and accelerating, his breath forming one last cloud in front of him. "Thank you." With that, he bowed his head, letting the ice overtake his body, freezing him solid. Jack stood in front of the two frozen bodies he was indirectly responsible for, one man turned into marble in horror, the other frozen in ice in bitter acceptance. This war against the Master was taking lives, but he didn't have a choice. A gateway on the far side of the colosseum opened up. Jack glanced around the arena, seeing if there was anything of use in the room.
"Guess this is the way forward," the Wing Signer commented to himself, stepping forward cautiously. He'd had enough of Traps in the Master's maze the day prior, now was not the time to get sloppy. The room he stepped into was simple, one room that seemed to be part of an interconnecting loop around some central chamber. A large window took up most of the far wall, revealing a massive chamber. Gases of all colors seemed to swirl about, giving the room a feeling as though it were larger on the inside. "What is this?" Jack could see flashes on the inside, as well as a few figures within the mists. "Can it be?"
Jack gasped as he recognized the iconic figure of Stardust Dragon appearing inside the mists of Chaos. A moment later, he was even more stunned to watch the Winged Dragon of Ra rise up to face Stardust Dragon. "So they're fighting against the Master and there's nothing I can do but watch." He slammed a fist into the wall next to the window in frustration. "Do it Yusei. Win this!" He may be nothing more than a spectator now, but at least he was ready to step up if Yusei somehow faltered against the Master. Jack had a sinking feeling in his gut though, if Yugi and Yusei couldn't defeat the Master, then nobody was going to.
To steal a line from the Tipsy Bartender; AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! A rather epic conclusion to a clash of pride vs pragmatism, next up on the list: the Blue-Eyes White Dragon vs their spiritual counterparts/successors in the Cyber Dragons will finish their fight in another wild finish! Hope you all enjoyed the chapter!
.
Question of the Chapter: What matchups would you like to see animated? It could be cross era matchup (like a Jack vs Kaiba), it could be another rematch with modern cards (Neos Kluger vs Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer anyone?), it could be a matchup that just never happened in the canon (Zane vs Chazz, to name one), what dream matchup would you like to see? I know there are content creators on YouTube who make videos of potential Duels, but it's just not quite the same, especially since Konami seems to have nuked most of those channels recently, removing some quality content sadly. So one more time, what Duel matchup would you like to see animated?

Response to the Guest Review
Isco: I certainly appreciate the kind words my friend, I just wanted to put a fun story centered around Dueling out there and here we are about a decade later on the verge of finally finishing this fun story! I will say, Kaiba, while he is making parallels with the twins being similar to Mokuba, he is not planning on adopting them (the timeline shenanigans alone are reality shattering), the twins are actually really well off (they may be alone in the Tops, but they're still in the Tops) and Kaiba would probably be more concerned with actual orphans in hard luck orphanages. He cares about the children, but he's definitely not at the "adopt children" stage of his life.
As for your sequel talk, I hate to break it to you, but it's not going to take place in the DM timeline, it's going to be in the Zexal timeline, so no Mokuba crushing on Luna. Regardless, there will be other character interactions that'll hopefully make up for the lack of what you currently desire. Thank you again for the review, I really do enjoy reading your comments.
