The following day

Joe and Jamie went to talk the two OD's in the hospital. The one didn't make it, the other had no recollection of anything. They had no new information which was frustrating.

When they got back to the station, they were surprised to see Angelina at a desk alone, waiting.

"Angelina? What are you doing here?" Joe wondered, Jamie stood back a little and let him take over.

"I think I know who had the drugs at the party." She said.

"How? Who?" Joe asked.

"Felix Price…It's my brother." She said. Joe looked at Jamie who then intervened.

"Did you talk to him?" Jamie asked.

"On the phone later that night yeah. He was really scared, and panicked. Then he told me I should go back home before they come after me or something."

"Did he say anything else?" Jamie wondered.

"Just that he needed money." She said.

"Okay did he ever mention any names he worked for?" Jamie asked.

"I don't know. Last I talked to my brother was before I left and moved to North Carolina…he's a piece of shit, I hope he rots in jail for the rest of his life." she started to cry, her emotions were everywhere and she was frustrated.

"Why's that?" Jamie asked calmly.

"He was pissed I was leaving, we used to be close, we lived together. But he got into a bad crowd and I didn't wanna be involved so I left, he practically threatened my life if I ever said anything." She said, Joe handed her a tissue to collect herself.

"Did he ever mention a guy named Hector?" Jamie asked and starting looking through the file folder.

"Doesn't ring a bell." She said and then Jamie put a picture of him in front of her. Her eyes widened, the fear in them was hard to miss.

"That's one of his bosses. I've only seen him twice, the 1st time he was beating the shit out of Felix, the second he had a gun to his head." She said.

"Why?" Joe asked.

"I don't know. Felix said it was business stuff, I left the next day." She said playing with her hands, Joe and Jamie exchanged looks and excused themselves to go talk.

"Alright, this is bigger then we thought…" Jamie said.

"Damn straight, we can't use her. They know her. We gotta put her in protection asap." Joe said.

"I know. And by the way…she's not as stupid as you made her sound." Jamie pointed out.

"Whatever, maybe it's the alcohol." Joe shrugged.

"Good chance, what's your next idea with all this?" Jamie asked.

"All roads lead back to Taylor man and you know it. She's the only other in we got that we can trust."

"Huh Joe for the 3rd time we're not using her." Jamie said.

"Okay then what about Eddie." Joe suggested getting irritated he couldn't make the calls.

"No…" he shook her head and looked around breaking eye contact with him.

"Why? They don't know her, she looks young enough, she's done great undercover work in the past!"

"No, she can't, I won't put her in this." Jamie said shaking his head.

"Dude!-"

"Joe." Jamie stopped him and looked at him square in the eyes.

"She's pregnant. It's a no go." Jamie continued shaking his head and looked around to make sure no one else heard. Joe smiled big at him forgetting his frustration and said "congrats man."

"Thanks. Don't say anything, don't tell her I told you either, just play dumb, it's early yet, and we've been at it for a long time." Jamie opened up and told him.

"Don't worry I won't. Guess she's not doing any undercover work for awhile then." Joe said chuckling.

"Yeah…huh…you really think Taylor could handle it? The more I think about it…she is already involved with all these people, it might be suspicious to throw in a new face." Jamie said swirling around the idea.

"She'll be fine! Let's just bring her in, brief her, show her the guys she's looking for, send her into a party, see if they show up, and we grab them, done."

"She's not going alone, she needs arm candy, an undercover cop, these guys got guns this could go south."

"It can't be me, or you. We'd get made." Joe said.

"Not to mention I'm too old for her!" Jamie reminded with a laugh.

"…I got a guy, he's good, he's a douchebag but he's a damn good detective." Joe told him.

"Great, what's his name I'll call him over." Joe picked up the phone ready to dial.

"Brian Harold." Joe said.

"Isn't that the guy you laid out the other week?"

"Yeah like I said, he's a dick but he's good." Joe assured, Jamie thought for a minute and then went ahead and called over to Joes precinct.

——

Joe called Taylor up and wanted to meet after tour about this operation. If she agreed to it, she'd come into the station tomorrow and talk more with Jamie and Joe about it.

Joe waited for her outside the same pizza place they went to after her trial.

"Hey." He smiled when he saw her approaching.

"Hi." She smiled back and said, they exchanged a hug and went to grab a table. They small talked until they ordered there food and drinks.

"So…what's up?" Taylor wondered. Joe didn't mention what this was all about over the phone.

"You wanna help out on catching some dealers." Joe said.

"Excuse me what?" Taylor said blindsided then interrupted by the pizza coming already.

"Ha, we wanna mic you up, send you into another big party, which I was told happen almost every weekend. We'll be watching from a van a couple blocks away and bust them when we get what we need."

"Ha!" She laughed hysterically then stopped when she saw Joe wasn't.

"Wait you're serious?" She asked with raised eyebrows.

"Uh yeah!"

"Joe! I don't wanna be involved in a drug deal! I'm a dental hygienist! I can't have that on my damn resume" She said quietly back before she took a bite of pizza. Joe couldn't help but laugh at her.

"Your not buying anything! We just need eyes on the guys doing business so we can bust them. Your date, who's gonna be an undercover cop would do most the work, you just gotta get him in." Joe said.

"Can my date be you?" She batted her lashed at him making Joe blush and laugh.

"Sadly no. Everyone there would make me."

"Okay so what if they don't even show up cause of what happened last time?" She said crossing her arms.

"Trial and error, it might take a few parties." He shrugged.

"A few!? You realize I only go to like a couple of these a year!" She said.

"Getting these guys off the streets would be worth the possibility of a reputation." He said taking a drink.

"You're fucking crazy." She said laughing and continuing to eat.

"C'mon, we're desperate, we need you, I know you've been through a lot but it's all the more reason we trust you." He said buttering her up.

"And what's in it for me?" She cocked her head with a raised brow and sat back in her chair crossing her arms.

"Ha…we can arrange something…just tell me you'll do it." He blushed.

"Huh…fine. But this cop better be hot, I don't date ugly people." She said joking.

"Your not really dating him." Joe said very matter of fact, he didn't like Brian but he would be good for this.

"Hey you never know what could come out of all this." She shrugged.

"I guess." Joe took a drink and didn't like that thought, Brian was a player and a dick, he was hoping this remained strictly business and nothing more. He was starting to second guess this decision.
