"Well, what do you think?" Camille asked Mia, who looked a little perplexed.
"It looks so ... empty. Not like our home at all."
Camille nodded. "Yes, but it's not that bad. Because now we have the opportunity to have a new home. Together with your daddy and our friends."
"Will we come back?"
"Well, at least not in this apartment. But of course we will come back to this city from time to time. Maybe next summer. After all, you were born here, so this city will always be a part of you."
Mia nodded and looked around again. Then she took a deep breath - she had undoubtedly inherited her mother's penchant for dramatic - and said in a resolute voice, "I'm ready to go, Mommy."
"Are you sure, sweetie?"
Mia nodded. "I'm sure, Mommy. It's going to be an adventure!"
Camille smiled. "Well then …Off to the adventure!" She helped Mia shoulder her backpack, then took her hand, and stepped out in the hallway with her. Camille looked around the apartment one last time. And although she was overjoyed that she had Logan back in her life, she felt a little painful stab inside at the thought of leaving this part of her life behind. But Mia was right. A new adventure, a new phase of her life was waiting for them.
Camille was smiling when she saw Logan sitting in the back seat talking to the taxi driver. When she helped Mia get into the car, she caught his eye. Silently, he asked her if everything was okay. She nodded, kissed him briefly on the cheek, and then sat down next to the driver in the passenger seat.
During the flight, Logan and Camille thought that Mia would be chatting all the time, but within a few hours, she fell asleep. Neither Logan nor Camille talked much during the flight. Both were too wrapped up in their own thoughts.
After they had finally landed, Camille looked around the airport hall. She carried Mia, who was still asleep, in her arms, while Logan took care of the luggage. As he stood next to her again, she asked, "Well, what now? Should we take a taxi?"
Logan shook his head with a smile. "Not necessary. I've already made sure that someone picks us up."
Camille looked around again, but couldn't see anyone who seemed familiar to her.
"I think he's waiting outside," Logan said, going ahead to the exit. As they left the hall behind and stepped outside, Camille opened her mouth in surprise. "I don't believe it."
Logan smiled, walked over to the tall, strong man and shook his hand. "Hello, Freight Train. Thank you for picking us up."
Gustavo's former bodyguard waved off with a smile. "No problem, Logan." Then he looked at Camille and nodded kindly to her. "Good afternoon, Camille."
Camille was amazed. "You really remember me?"
"Of course."
Still surprised, Camille got into the pretty expensive-looking black car after Logan. During the ride, she was lost in thoughts again. When Freight Train finally stopped the car, she looked around in confusion. She didn't know the area at all. She had expected to drive to Logan's apartment or to one of their friends. While she looked around, Mia woke up. She straightened up, rubbed her eyes, and then looked out the window. Unlike Camille, she didn't seem to be surprised by their destination.
"Are we there, Daddy?"
Logan nodded, got out, and opened the car door for Camille and Mia. Then he stepped to the driver's side. "Don't you want to come inside, Freight Train?"
He shook his head. "Unfortunately, I'm running late, Logan. But if you need help again, just call me. I'm always there for good friends."
Logan smiled. "All right. Thank you." He shook his hand one last time, then Freight Train drove off.
"Logan ... where are we?"
"Well, I've recently realized that my apartment is too small for all of us. So Mia and I looked for an alternative and then discovered this little house." He pointed to a white, small, yet welcoming house that was in front of them. "And after we visited it, we bought it."
Camille's eyes widened. "Bought it? So that means-"
Logan nodded. "Yep. It's ours."
When she didn't respond, he added, "I know it's not as big as the house of Carlos and Lex. But it has a garden and everything you need to live. But if you don't like it, we can-"
"Logan..."
"Yes?"
Smiling, she hugged him. "That's probably the sweetest thing you've ever done for me."
"So does that mean you want to see it?"
"Yes!" She said enthusiastically. "Show me everything!" She turned to her daughter. "And you knew about it?"
"Don't be angry, Mommy. Daddy said it should be a surprise to you."
"I'm not angry, sweetheart," Camille replied with a laugh, hugging her.
Logan opened the front door and stepped to the side. "Ladies first," he said with a smile. Camille stepped in and –
"Surprise!"
Camille was delighted to see all her friends standing in front of her, holding up a banner that said "Welcome home!" As she turned around, Logan and Mia stood in front of her, grinning.
"So, what do you think?" Logan asked, making a gesture that encompassed the entire room. Camille looked around. "It's beautiful ... and everything is already set up. Thank you so much, Logan."
Smiling, Logan tilted his head to the side. "Well, to be honest, the idea of full setup wasn't mine."
"But who-?" Camille asked, astonished. She heard someone clear his throat. Kendall took a step forward. "It was my idea." He scratched the back of his neck. "I thought we might take this as an opportunity to forget all the stupid things that happened and that were said once and for all and make a fresh start. We leave the past behind and focus on the present and the future. What do you think?"
All eyes were on Camille. She smiled, walked up to Kendall, and hugged him. "Agreed."
"Okay, great. Now that we are all good friends again, can we finally start the housewarming?" Carlos asked impatiently. James nodded. "Exactly, my friend. Because today the Hollywood super party kings of Hollywood have their comeback!"
Mia looked at James with a laugh. "You said Hollywood twice."
The boys exchanged an amused look with each other and said at the same time, "You bet I did!" Then they burst into loud laughter.
"Oh, Logan, she's really your daughter," James said as he wiped tears of laughter from his eyes.
Logan grinned. "Yes, she sure is."
The housewarming lasted several hours and ended late in the evening. After putting Mia to bed and saying goodbye to their friends, Logan and Camille looked around in their new living room. Logan sighed. "Well, the Hollywood super party kings of Hollywood have done a lot of work," he muttered, unhappily looking at the mess in front of them. Camille, who knew exactly what was going on in her boyfriend at that moment, said, "We can do that tomorrow. Because tonight we should take care of something else."
"What's that?"
"Well ... we could start with our bedroom," she said with a seductive smile. Logan laughed softly and took her hand in his. "Okay. Come with me." He led her up to the upper floor. But just as Camille was about to enter the bedroom, Logan held her back. "Wait."
"What is it?" She asked curiously. Smiling, he put an arm around her waist and wrapped the second arm around her legs. Then he lifted her up in bridal style. Camille laughed. "What are you doing?"
"Well, in this way it just feels a little more ... classic." Smiling, he carried her into the bedroom, quietly closed the door with his foot, and gently put her down on the large bed. For a few seconds, he just stood there and looked at her lovingly.
"Do you want to stand there all night?" She asked amused.
"Maybe..." He replied with a wink.
"Don't get me wrong ... I'm flattered ... but I thought we could do something else..."
"Oh yes? Like what?" He asked teasingly. She grinned, pulled him down to the bed, and kissed him passionately...
