Summary: Some rules are meant to be followed. Others were made to be broken. John decided the rule of not writing about his ordeals was one of the latter. Years later, Alex finds a notebook in the attic and decides he needs to know what it means. His decision changes a lot.
Slight AU (Alternative Universe), characters acting slightly OOC (Out Of Character).

Chapter 7
The phone had 8 messages (two of which were read), all of which were sent by the same number. Opening the first message, Alex read:
(I still owe you for killing the spider. Call if you're in trouble) (1)
How would his father killing a spider result in someone owing him? Unless the person had arachnophobia. Scrolling further down, he read
(Nice work with being "shot" on the bridge. Where did you source the blood from?) (1)
(What happened on the plane?) (1)
(Was the bomb faked?) (1)
(Are Helen and Alex safe?) (1)
(Are you safe?) (1)
(Hunter?) (1)
Then there was a time gap of a month before the final message, which was:
(To anyone who may read this. Julia will be dealt with, as will the person who planted the bomb. I will keep an eye on Alex.) (1)
Blinking, he had to spend a few minutes sorting out the information the texts contained, before picking up the business card, which read:
(YG PEST CONTROL) (1)
(NO JOB TOO BIG) (1)
(NO AMOUNT OF PESTS TOO SMALL) (1)
ЗВОНИТЕ НАМ 24/7 (CALL US 24/7 ON) (1)
which was followed by a phone number. In fact, it was the same number as the texts had been sent from, Alex realised after he compared the two. Finding a spare piece of paper, he wrote down a list of things he had to look up or find out, before looking around the room and exhaling loudly.
