"Ahh, now here is the results." the man in a white medical coat spoke.
"It seems everything seems in order except there isa minor hormonal imbalance, Haruno-san. No need to worry though, just a quick hormonal regulatory support will suffice. Meet with the front desk for the specialized personnel for the job and you will be good to go!"
After the academy started, I had no motivation to continue my rigorous training. So, I stooped training all together. After a week of stopping working out I felt depressed. I always had no energy and started to feel as if the world was collapsing on top of me. I talked with my mother and she decided to take me to the hospital. I had my blood drawn from me yesterday and I was back here for the results.
I had no idea how they are going to fix a hormonal imbalance "in no time" as they say, in my old world it would take at least two weeks of constant drugs and bloodwork.
My mother and I exited the checkup room and went for the front desk. The lady at the front lady was sweet and smiling, she talked to me with a gentle tone as she booked an appointment for the next day.

Next day, in front of hospital room 11
The door opened and a man with a long sleeved white medical coat stepped out of the room.
"You must be Haruno-san, please follow me." The medical personnel who just opened the door spoke.
"Ok." I responded as I followed him to the room.
He shut the door behind me. In the room there was flat bed which had a hole cut off in the top half, presumably for the space for the patient's head.
"In your file, it states that you just started academy. How is academy so far?" he asked, aiming to get me to relax through small talk.
"Eh... Its fine, I guess." I respond haphazardly.
"I remember my time at the academy, the good old days." He spoke with a melancholic tone.
"You tried to be a ninja?" I asked.
"Not tried girly, I am a ninja. A medical ninja to be precise."
"A medical ninja? What does a medical ninja do?" I ask, confused. In my old world the doctors had a Hippocratic oath which included not to harm human body trough their medicine and preserve the medical way. I find that contradictory to the ninja nature. Granted my experiences with the ninja were what I heard from others but I always imagined them as silent killers, invisible to the naked eye, gone with the wind before the head drops to the ground type of guys.
"A medical ninja uses medical ninjutsu to heal and preserve their allies." The medic-nin spoke.
"Medical ninjutsu?" I asked.
"Just like a ninjutsu but aimed towards healing, there are numerous medical ninjutsu techniques but the most famous one is the mystical palm technique which is used to quicken the natural healing process."
"I visited the hospital numerous times but never seen a medical ninja or the medical ninjustsu ever being used." I spoke, trying to get him to show me a cool technique.
"You probably seen them but not interacted with them. Not all medical personnel are medic-nins. For minor injuries and daily checkups there are assistant personnel, which are either civilians or medic-nins in training. And the medical ninjutsu are only used in the cases which regular methods are too slow or not enough. For example, if you broke your arm and came to us, we will send you to the assistants and have them cast your arm but if you broke your ribs, especially in the case of displaced bones, then we will intervene due to the risk of that rib poking a hole in your lungs." The man responded.
"Oh… Ok" I spoke, processing the new information, slightly wierded out.
"If you are interested in becoming a medi-nin, you can volunteer for the assistant spot. They are always welcoming new academy students and after you finish the academy you can even start working as an intern."
"Ok. Sure!" I beam at him. my plan to make him speak was seen through but it was ok. I was excited to learn new techniques.
"Ok that's enough dilly dally, please strip your upper body bare, and lay face first. I need to access to your back." He spoke.
I nod. With little hesitation I strip my torso and lay as instructed.
"I will now use a diagnostic jutsu. You might feel slightly ticklish." He spoke as his footsteps announced his arrival.
I felt a slight tickling barely enough to register as something and before I can locate the origin of the feeling it was gone.
"Now for the treatment, you should feel nothing but the pressure my hands are generating on top of you." He spoke.
I felt as he said. His two hands above my kidneys. We held that position for maybe a minute then separated.
He had beads of sweat on his forehead and was slightly out of breath.
"The procedure is finished, come by next week and we will do a checkup." He said after a few breaths.
"Thank you." I say as I dress myself up.

I went as per the medi-nin told me and got my check up done next week, it came out clean.
Last week I had been thinking about the applications of the medical jutusus in combat, I dreamt about becoming an undying warrior which no injury can hold back, an absolute power. I thought about the limits of medical jutsu and more I thought the more excited I became.
After I got my check up done, I went to the front desk and asked them to volunteer, they handed me a form about my personal info and told me to come by next day.
In academy, we were learning how to read and write as well as basic academics. Basically, I could be done with them while my eyes were closed except reading. I was on par with others on that. With the free time I have, I could focus a little on the hospital.

Around the time when it started to snow in the village I felt as if I had come across a milestone, the day started as any normal. I went to the academy and assumed my normal place in the class. I was middle row nearest seat to the wall. I liked to lean on the wall and sit sideways.
Iruka sensei, our homeroom teacher, came in class and shut everyone up. There were some ruffians including a boy who had tatoos on his cheeks, they resembled fangs. They were pretty cool. And another one was a boy who dressed in all orange and had messy blond hair. He kind off smelled bad. I stay away from him, as per everyone does. The village folk seems to resent him for some reason, I don't give a shit really.
"Alright everybody, todays a special day! Today's lesson will be on a special topic. Do any of you know why today is special?" Iruka sensei asked.
Couple of hands shot at the sky as they tried to guess the reason
"Is it the founding day?"
"Is it because it is snowing?"
"Is it your birthday?"
"No. today is the winter solstice. Today marks a special day on our calendar as it is widely believed that today will be the peak of natural yin chakra that surrounds us."
"Senseiii…. What is chakra?" a kid two rows behind me asked.
"Chakra is what makes us capable of using ninjutsu, chakra is what makes us ninja." Iruka replied to the whole classroom
I was listening before but now Iruka sensei had my full attention.
"Chakra is the mix of spiritual and physical energy, it gathers in your core and expands on its own pathways and stops, which we call tenketsu. With chakra even the scrawniest body can be as strong as a veteran blacksmith. Through chakra we can use techniques that saves our lives daily. Your studies with chakra will be the determining factor of your ninja career" He continued.
What? No way a twig outlifts me. Iruka sensei is just overacting to make us listen him. Right?
"How do we use chakra, Iruka-sensei?" I asked him eagerly.
"We will be further solidifying your foundation before the practice. After all, for the tree to bear wide leaves it must have deep roots. So, we will be on theoretical side for the winter." He replied.
"How do we have chakra and how can we make more of it?" a kid asks from the back of the classroom. It was the creepy kid with the sunglasses and high collar. It was a good question.
"We will get there, but first we must know who is the father and the first sage of the chakra. I am talking about the Sage of six paths. You must know him through the legends but if you want to know more you can visit the library and read the book 'A brief history of chakra' it was written by the Sandaime-sama." He spoke.
"Ninshu is the religion and the peaceful precursor of modern ninjutsu created by the Sage himself, who was the first one to understand and teach the mystery of chakra. The teachings of ninshu were meant to give people a better understanding of themselves, as well as others, and lead the world into an era of peace. Ninshu would eventually come to be known as ninjutsu, a more weaponised version of the Sage's teachings." He continued as he entered his teacher mode.
"The Sage exemplified his teachings by distributing chakra meant to "connect" people's spiritual energies with one another. It would allow people to understand each other without communication and pray for one another's safety. The ninja saw the destructive potential of ninshu, and was started to get used as weapons. Others followed each other's footsteps, using chakra to connect their inner spiritual and physical energies together instead of each other. It was The Sage's belief that no one's chakra should be so much greater than any other. If the power is accumulated into one person, then it increases the possibility that the person will become arrogant and desire even greater power. In the end, they ended up using their chakra in battle, just as The Sage foretold. The winter solstice marks the day when ninjitsu was first used on an open battlefield, snowballing into the world, changing it forever." He explained.
"Now everybody, I want you to think about chakra and its origins by yourself today. This will be your homework and tomorrow there will be a discussion on it." Iruka-sensei added on before forgetting
"Carrying on further down the path chakra was used…."

That night I thought ninja, ninshu and medical-jutsu. I thought through and through, medical jutsu and ninshu were similar, it had good morals and had empathy lying beneath them. They were useful and everyone should have access to it. But it dawned upon me that ninshu was different.
Ninshu was primarily a tool which then weaponized. Ninjutsu was not a good weapon. No matter how much you sharpen a fork it will still be a fork, it can never reach up to the sword.
Even though ninjutsu was a strong tool and dominating the era I saw my chance to become strong with forging myself a new weapon. It would be different and stand out, it would be unexpected and strong.
I was even thinking about grandeur even when I was about to sleep.
I had a newfound motivation! I would be stronger than the rest of them!
