Ch 6 More Surprises

"Simba!" Zira cried out, her ruby eyes wide. "You stop that right now! You're scaring the children." Zira nodded towards Kovu, Jasiri and Nuka, who were crouched low to the ground, their eyes wide with fear.

"I'm sorry kids," Simba said softly, pulling Nuka close and nuzzling him while smiling at Jasiri and Nuka. "I didn't mean to scare you guys."

"Why'd you roar like that Dad?" Nuka asked.

"Nuka those cubs are not to be trusted," Simba informed his son.

"How come?" Jasiri asked, the confusion clear in her voice.

"Because," Simba said, a slight growl coming through his voice. "Those cubs are the cubs of Nala." When the cubs heard this they gasped.

"Dad are you sure?" Nuka asked, his voice coming out very soft.

"Yes son I'm sure," Simba said. "I know for a fact that Kiara is Nala's daughter. And I'm fairly certain that Kion and Kopa are her sons."

"Yes they are," Zira confirmed with a nod. "I remember Nala telling her mother what her sons' names were. She refused to tell us anything about them or even let us see them."

"Wow," Jasiri said, shaking her head. "She sounds like a real nut."

"That's putting in mildly," Simba muttered.

"She's more than a nut Jasiri," Nuka said. "Dad said she's the one that tried to kill me. And she's the reason I have these." Nuka indicated the scars that were on his side when he said this part.

"So her kids are probably just messed up as she is," Kovu said.

"Which is all the more reason why you are not to go near them again," Asha said. "Am I clear Kovu?"

"Yes Mom," Kovu said. "Trust me I won't."

"Yeah us either," Nuka chimed in. "Right 'Siri?" Nuka looked at Jasiri when he said this part.

"For sure," Jasiri said with a nod.

"That's right you won't," Cala said, coming onto the scene.

"Hi Mom," Jasiri said, nuzzling Cala's front leg.

"Hello darling," Cala said, licking the top of Jasiri's head. "I just heard what had happened."

"Are you mad at me?" Jasiri asked.

"No honey I'm not mad," Cala said with a smile. "After all you didn't know who they were."

"But Dad can we still play with Safara?" Nuka asked. "I mean she's not one of Nala's children."

"But she was with them when you first met them correct?" Simba asked. Nuka nodded so Simba continued saying, "Then she is no doubt the child of one of Nala's friends. So no you're not allowed to play with her either."

"Oh ok," Nuka said, sounding disappointed. Just then Sarabi approached the group.

"Simba Vitani's awake," the older lioness said. "She's asking for you and Zira."

"Thanks Mom," Simba said with a smile. "I'm really glad you're alright Kovu."

"Thanks King Simba," Kovu said with a smile. With that Simba and Zira went to check on heir daughter with Nuka right behind them.

TLKTLKTLK

The next day Nuka and Jasiri were out playing. Kovu and Vitani weren't allowed to leave the cave for a week. "So what do you want to do Nuk'?" Jasiri asked.

"I don't know," Nuka said with a sigh. "We could..." But just then he gasped and his red eyes got wide.

"Nuka what's wrong?" Jasiri asked, looking in the direction where Nuka was looking. She saw Safara and Kion heading towards them. "Oh great," the rusty brown cub muttered. Then she got really mad. "You guys can go right back to the Outland where you two came from!" she growled, surprising Kion and Safara.

"Wh...what are you talking about?" Kion stammered, looking at Safara whose blue eyes were wide.

"We're not from the Outlands," Safara said quickly.

"Yeah like heck you don't!" Jasiri cried out. "We know the truth!"

"What truth?" Kion asked, generally confused. "What the heck are you talking about Jasiri?"

"We know you're the son of Nala!" Jasiri cried out, causing Kion and Safara to jump slightly.

"Who told you that?" Kion demanded. "Cause they're lying!"

"My dad told us!" Nuka cried out, getting in Kion's face. "And you better not be calling him a liar! He would never lie to me or my sister!"

"Alright calm down Nuka," Kion said, taking a step back. "I take it back."

"Well then?" Jasiri asked, glaring at Kion.

"Ok fine," Kion said. "I am the son of Nala. But I'm not like her I sware I'm not. Me and my brother and sister want to get away from her."

"Then why don't you?" Jasiri asked.

"Because she's really mean," Safara said. "She hits Kiara and Kopa when she gets mad. Sometimes she hits Kion too."

"You know," Nuka said. "I bet my Dad would let you and your siblings stay if you told him what your Mom does to you."

"No he wouldn't," Kion said. "My grandma told us that King Simba said that if he caught any of us in the Pride Lands he'd kill us on the spot."

"My Dad wouldn't do that," Nuka said, shaking his head. "He's not mean like that."

"Maybe he is," Safara chimed in. "I mean you don't always know everything about your parents right?"

"Yeah that's true," Nuka said softly.

"But can we still play with you guys?" Kion asked, looking at the cubs hopefully.

"I don't know..." Nuka began.

"Please?" Kion pleaded. "Its the only break we get."

"Well..." Nuka said, looking at Jasiri, who shrugged. "Alright. You can play with us. But we have to be real careful. My parents can't know."

"Oh trust me we agree on that," Kion said, shuddering slightly.

"Then lets play," Jasiri said. With that the four cubs played, not knowing about the danger that was about to come to them.

TLKTLKTLK

A week later Kovu and Vitani were allowed to venture out of the cave. Nuka and Jasiri had told them about Kion and Safara and the two cubs agreed to play with them after much convincing from Nuka. On this particular day Kopa was with them. The creamy brown cub had convince Nala to let him venture on his own. Kiara, unfortunately had received a severe beating from Nala because Nala had over heard her complaining about being stuck in the cave. "Hey Kop' you with me?" Kion asked, waving a paw in front of his twin's face.

"Huh?" Kopa said, shaking his head. "Sorry Ky. What did you say?"

"I said we'd better figure out a way to do our plan," Kion said, making sure he kept his voice low.

"Its your plan Kion not mine," Kopa said, his voice coming out rough. "Mother doesn't think I'm good enough to pull it off remember?"

"Then prove her wrong," Kion whispered. Kopa just stared at his brown coated twin, an eyebrow raised. "Ah c'mon Kop' I could use the help," Kion pleaded.

"Sounds like a you problem," Kopa said, walking away from his brother. Kion shook his head as he watched his brother go up to Nuka and start to play with him.

"I bet those two are up to something," Jasiri whispered to Kovu as she watched Kion and Kopa talk.

"You're so suspicious all the time," Kovu said with a laugh. "They're just talking 'Siri. Sheesh."

"I think I have every right to be suspicious Kovu," Jasiri declared, the annoyance clear in her voice. "They're the sons of Nala remember?"

"And we hate it," Kopa said, getting right in Jasiri's face. The rusty brown cub backed up a step, her brown eyes wide. "You'd hate it too if you got beaten everyday for just existing!" the creamy brown cub continued. "Well he doesn't have to worry about that," Kopa said, nodding towards Kion. "He's the chosen one! The perfect one! So if you want to be all suspicious of someone then it should be him! He's the one that was hand picked by our father to follow in his paw prints!" Everyone just stared at the creamy brown cub, shocked at what he had just said.
