A/N Well folks we're already at ch 11. Thank you all so much for the reviews and the alerts. I really appreciate the continued support. Anyways here's ch 11 for you. Enjoy!
Ch 11 Meeting of the Minds
"Kopa wait up!" Nyeusi called out as she and Kiara tried to catch up to the creamy brown cub. By now they had ran into Safara and Chafu, who were both equally curious to what Kopa's plan was. By now they had reached the Pride Land border and Kopa went to cross it.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa stop right there Kopa!" Kiara cried out, running in front of her younger brother to prevent him from entering the Pride Lands. "You ain't goin' nowhere 'til you tell us what the heck your plan is?"
"Yeah," Nyeusi chimed in. "We wanna help but we can't unless you tell us what you're doin'."
"I'm so confused," Chafu said, wrinkling his brow. "What's going on here?"
"Yeah I'm curious too," Safara chimed in. "What gives?"
"I have a plan on how to help Kion," Kopa declared.
"And it involves going into the Pride Lands?" Kiara asked with confusion.
"Well duh," Kopa said, rolling his blue eyes. "Why else would I be here Kiara?"
"So what's the plan?" Nyeusi asked, the impatience clear in her voice.
"The plan is," Kopa began. "That we find Kovu and Jasiri and convince them to help us. I would say we involve Nuka and Vitani too but I don't know if they're..." Kopa trailed off, not wanting his friends to know how guilty he felt about his role in the Prince and Princess' accident.
"Why are you guys talking about Prince Nuka and Princess Vitani?" a voice asked. The group of young cubs turned and saw Moto standing there with Kijana and Chana right behind him.
"What do you jackals care anyways?" Kiara snapped, glaring at the pups.
"We helped them that's why!" Moto exclaimed, glaring back at Kiara. "Well at least our parents did. King Simba and Queen Zira said we saved their lives."
"So they're not dead?" Kopa said, sounding relieved.
"No they're not dead," Chana chimed in. "In fact we were just about to check on them."
"You guys should come," Kijana suggested. "I mean its pretty obvious that you care about them."
"They can't come Kijana," Moto said, giving the Outlander cubs a look of distain.
"How come?" Kijana asked, the confusion clear in his voice.
"Don't you remember who they are?" Moto asked. Kijana shook his head no and looked at Chana, who just shrugged.
"You know we don't have as good of memory as you do Mo'," Chana said. Moto let out a groan and rolled his black eyes slightly.
"Those two are the children of Nala," Moto said, pointing at Kiara and Kopa.
"Isn't she they crazy lioness that almost killed Prince Nuka when he was a baby?" Chana asked.
"Yup that's her," Moto said. "That's why King Simba banished her. And her kids were banished too. And no doubt these other cubs are cubs of Nala's followers. So we can't trust them."
"Puh that's a good one coming from a jackal," Kiara scoffed, rolling her light green eyes. "Jackals can't be trusted either. Reirei is a master lair and manipulator. There's no way we'd ever trust her pups."
"We're not Reirei's pups for one thing!" Moto shouted.
"Yeah!" Chana cried out. "Our parents hate her and Goigoi! They almost killed me!" Chana nodded towards the scars that were on her side and belly.
"Ah forget them," Moto spat out. "Lets get away from them!"
"For real," Kijana growled, glaring at the cubs. "Lets go. And you can bet that we'll be telling King Simba all about how the children of Nala were talking about his kids and getting ready to go into the Pride Lands." With that the three jackal pups began to leave.
"No wait!" Kopa cried out. "Please don't go!"
"Yeah we could really use your help!" Safara chimed in.
"Why should we help you?" Moto demanded, glaring at Safara.
"Because we're not like Nala!" Nyeusi cried out,
"Yeah," Kopa chimed in. "We're trying to get away from her!"
"Then why not just leave her then?" Kijana asked. "I mean that's what I'd do."
"Because she'll kill us if we leave!" Kopa cried out. "Or get one of her friends to kill us! She'll do it too!"
"Yeah," Safara chimed in. "And besides we can't leave Kion. He's bound to become just like Scar if we don't help him!"
"One second," Moto said, motioning for his siblings to follow him. After a few minutes the trio walked back towards the group.
"Alright," Chana said. "We'll help you."
"But you gotta do what we tell you to do," Moto said.
"Yeah we know how things in the Pride Lands work," Kijana put in.
"And we know King Simba," Chana continued. "And he doesn't like outsiders in his lands."
"And he has a terrible temper," Moto chimed in.
"Well we don't need to talk to him," Kopa declared with a slight shudder. "We just need to talk to Kovu and Jasiri and convince them to help us."
"Can you help us do that?" Kiara asked, her voice sounding slightly condescending.
"You know what?" Moto said, glaring at Kiara. "We ain't gonna help you do anything if you keep up with that tone."
"Kiara please be nice," Kopa pleaded.
"Sorry," Kiara said, lowering her eyes. "I didn't mean to make you mad. But we really do need your help."
"And you're gonna get it," Moto said. "Wait here. We'll be back." Then he turned towards his siblings and said, "Lets go." With that the three jackal pups went into the Pride Lands to find Kovu and Jasiri.
TLKTLKTLK
A little while later Moto and his siblings returned with Kovu and Jasiri in tow. "Alright Moto we're here," Kovu said, the irritance clear in his voice.
"Yeah what's so dang impor..." Jasiri stopped midsentence when she saw Kopa, Kiara, Safara, Nyeusi and Chafu. "What the heck are they doing here?" the rusty brown cub demanded, glaring at the cubs.
"I told you Jasiri they have something really important to talk about," Moto said, rolling his black eyes.
"No," Kovu said, sounding angry. "You said someone had something important to talk to us about. You never said anything about them being here."
"Please just hear us out," Safara pleaded.
"Yeah its real important," Chafu chimed in.
"Yeah like life or death important," Nyeusi piped up.
"Oh yeah?" Kovu said, looking Nyeusi up and down. "And just whose life is in danger."
"All of our lives!" Kopa cried out. "But especially King Simba and Queen Zira."
"So you're threatening the King and Queen now?" Kovu growled, glaring at the creamy brown cub.
"Isn't it bad enough that you nearly killed their kids?!" Jasiri growled.
"What do you mean nearly?" Kiara asked.
"You mean they're alive?" Kopa asked, the shock clear in his voice. Jasiri and Kovu just stared at the creamy brown cub. "Ah c'mon please tell me," Kopa pleaded.
"Yeah we really do wanna know," Safara chimed in.
"Why?" Kovu demanded, glaring at the dark tan cub. "So you can go back and finish the job?"
"So they are alive then?" Kiara asked. Kovu's light green eyes went wide as he realized his mistake. "Look we had nothin' to do with them gettin' hurt," the light brown cub said. "So please just tell us the truth."
"You may as well them them 'Vu," Jasiri whispered.
"Yeah they're alive," Kovu confirmed. "But barely and it's gonna be a real long time before they can go anywhere thanks to all the broken bones they have."
"Then we need to help them!" Kopa cried out, startling the rest of the group. "Before my mother decides to finish the job!" Kiara growled and glared at her brother. Kopa gasped and put his paw over his mouth. Kovu and Jasiri were just staring at his with wide eyes as were Moto, Kijana, and Chana. Then Kovu opened his mouth to speak.
