Ch 17 The Plan Comes Together
Vitani and Nuka walked as fast as they could until they had reached the gorge. "Phew I'm glad we made it," Vitani said after catching her breath.
"Yeah," Nuka panted. "Me too. So what do you wanna do?"
"Lets go to the Grassland," Vitani suggested.
"Good idea," Nuka said. With that the two siblings headed for the Grasslands.

Meanwhile back in the Grasslands Nyeusi, Chafu and Safara were debating on what they should do. "I think we should try and find the Prince and Princess," Chafu said. "We can't let the plan fall to far behind."
"I don't know Cha'," Nyeusi said, sounding nervous. "What if we get caught by King Simba?"
"Yeah," Safara chimed in. "He'll kill us for sure."
"We owe it to Kopa and Kiara to at least try," Chafu pointed out. "So I don't want..." But before her could finish that sentence the grey coated cub saw Moto heading towards them with Kijana and Chana right behind him.
"Hey guys," Moto said with a smile. "What's up?"
"We're just trying to find Vitani and Nuka," Nyeusi informed the jackal pup.
"Leave that to us," Kijana said with his own smile. "Me and Mo' can get them here."
"Oh no you don't," Chana said, glaring at her brother. "You're not leaving me out of something again."
"The c'mon!" Kijana said impatiently. With that the triplets headed towards Pride Rock to find Nuka and Vitani.

A few minutes later the jackal pup siblings found the lion cub siblings. "Hey guys!" Moto cried out, bounding over to Nuka and Vitani.
"Hey guys," Vitani said with a smile.
"Glad to see you guys up and about," Kijana said with a smile of his own.
"Glad to be up and about," Nuka said, returning the smile.
"I'm surprised your parents let you guys out without supervision," Chana said.
"Yeah well they didn't," Vitani said, looking away from Chana.
"Yeah," Nuka chimed in. "We sort of snuck away from our Grandma while she was distracted."
"Well since we're all here how about we head for the Grassland?" Moto suggested, knowing that Nyeusi, Chafu, and Safara would be waiting for them there.
"Sure that sounds great," Nuka said, looking at Vitani, who nodded in agreement.
"Then lets go!" Chana cried out. With that the group of young animals headed towards the Grasslands.

Meanwhile back in the Outlands Kiara was distracted. The light brown ten month old was thinking about a number of things. One being the task of getting Vitani and Nuka to trust them. She wasn't sure if she trusted Nyeusi, Chafu and Safara to get the job done. Suddenly she was snapped out of her thoughts by a rock hitting her in the side of her head. "Kiara!" came Kion's annoyed sounding voice. "Pay attention!"
"Huh?" Kiara said, shaking her head. "Sorry Ky. "
"You should be," Kion said with a growl.
"My head hurts alright?" Kiara said, rolling her green eyes. "So don't get an attitude with me Kion."
"How dare you talk to me like that!" Kion thundered, running up to his sister and striking her in her face, sending her crashing to the ground Kiara's eyes went wide when Kion pinned her to the ground, digging in his claws. "Don't you ever speak to me like that again!" the seven moth old cub snarled, his face inches from Kiara's. "I'll end you the next time!"
"Kion please," Kiara pleaded, the fear clear in her voice. "I'm sorry. But please don't act like her. You're better than that. I know you are."
"You don't know a damn thing about me!" Kion snarled, letting Kiara up.
"Kion..." Kiara began. But she was cut off by Kion's shout.
"Get out of my sight!" Kion cried out. "Now! I don't want a pathetic weakling near me!" With that Kiara took off, leaving a fuming Kion behind.
"She's wrong," the brown coated cub thought as he paced. "I'm not becoming Mother. I'm not. Am I?" Kion shook his head and took off to find Sarafina, hoping his Grandmother would have some answers for him.

Meanwhile back in the Grasslands Nyeusi, Chafu, and Safara were getting nervous. "I don't know about this," Nyeusi said after waiting in silence for several minutes. "Maybe we should go back home."
"Are you crazy Ny?" Chafu cried out, giving his younger sister a surprised look. "We can't back out now."
"Yeah," Safara chimed in. "Why are you suddenly getting cold paws?"
"I...I just don't want King Simba to find us here," Nyeusi stammered, not making eye contact. "He'll...he'll rip us to shreds."
"Don't worry Ny," Chafu said, giving his sister a nuzzle. "It'll be alright. I promise." Just then the group saw Kovu and Jasiri heading towards them.
"What are you guys doing here?" Kovu asked, his eyes wide in surprise.
"We're waiting for Vitani and Nuka," Safara explained. "Moto and his siblings are supposed to bring them here."
"Where's Kopa?" Jasiri asked, looking around for the creamy brown cub.
"He's not feeling good today," Chafu said, looking at Nyeusi and Safara.
"Is Kiara not feeling good today either?" Kovu asked.
"Yeah well you see..." Chafu began. But just then they heard Moto call their names. The group turned and saw the jackal pup walking toward them with his siblings and Vitani and Nuka right behind him. When Vitani and Nuka saw the Outlander cubs there their eyes went wide.
"What's going on Moto?" Vitani demanded, glaring at the male jackal pup.
"Yeah what are they doing here?" Nuka chimed in, the anger clear in his voice.
"Guys don't be mad," Kijana said. "There's a good reason they're here."
"Which is?' Vitani asked. Kijana opened his mouth to respond when they heard a voice cry out, "Hold it right there!" The group turned and they were all shocked at who they saw.

Meanwhile back in the Outlands Kion had found Sarafina. "Grandma can I talk to you?" the brown coated cub asked.
"Of course dear one," Sarafina said with a smile.
"Well I was wondering if you can help me with a problem I'm having," Kion said, not looking at his grandmother
"What's the problem?" Sarafina asked.
"Well I..." Kion began. Then he stopped when he noticed Sharka and Tama were standing off to the side talking. "Can we talk somewhere private?" he whispered.
"Of course," Sarafina said. "I know just the place. Come with me." With that the creamy lioness motioned for her grandson to follow her. Soon they reached the area near the termite mound. "We should be safe here," she said. "Now what's on your mind?"
"I don't want to be like Mother," Kion said, causing Sarafina to blink in surprise. "Please help me Grandmother. Help me not become her." By now the six month old cub was on the verge of tears. Sarafina pulled her youngest grandchild close and nuzzled him.
"Shh there now my dear," Sarafina soothed, licking Kion's head. "It'll be alright. I promise you. I'm going to help you, your brother and sister get as far away from your mother as possible."
"You...you are?" Kion asked with a sniffle, looking up at his grandmother with wide green eyes.
"Yes my dear I am," Sarafina said with a smile. "In fact I'm currently working on a plan to help with just that."
"If Mother finds out she'll be really mad," Kion said softly. "She might even kill you."
"I'm not worried about that," Sarafina said with another smile. "I'm more concerned about you, Kopa and Kiara. You three mean more to me than anything else."
"Thanks Grandma," Kion said with a smile.
"And don't worry about becoming Nala," Sarafina said. "Just don't let het hate get to you. Remember you are a sweet, caring young lion with a big heart."
"But what about my training?" Kion asked.
"I'll help you with that," Sarafina said. "I'll make sure Nala isn't to hard on you."
"Grandma I..." Kion began. But he didn't get a chance to finish when a furious voice cried it, "I knew you were a traitor. I'll kill you!" Before either Kion or Sarafina could react someone tackled Sarafina to the ground, determined to kill her
