Ch 18 Unexpected Consequences

"You bitch!" Tama snarled, hitting Sarafina hard in her face. "How dare you conspire against your own daughter and try to corrupt her son?!" Tama hit Sarafina once again in her face.

"Tama stop this!" Sarafina cried out, shoving the dark tan lioness off of her. "You're acting like a crazy lioness!"

"No I won't stop!" Tama snarled, her eyes flashing with anger and rage. "And you're the one that's crazy if you think I'm going to let you get away with this!" With that Tama tried to lunge at Sarafina once again but Sarafina dodged to the side, causing Tama to stumble.

"Think about the harm this nonsense is doing to the children!" Sarafina cried out. "Think about Safara! Don't you want a better life for her?!"

"This is what's best for my daughter!" Tama shouted, baring her teeth and extending her claws at Sarafina.

"How is making them so twisted they would murder someone what's best for her?!" Sarafina demanded, stepping to the side to avoid being tackled to the ground by the still enraged Tama.

"How dare you tell me anything about my child!" Tama snarled as she got to her feet. "You have no room to speak on the matter! You know nothing about what's best for children! Least of all your grandchildren!" With that Tama lunged for Sarafina once again. But once again Sarafina dodged the attack. But she didn't realize that Sharka was also there and the grey coated lioness hit Sarafina hard in the back of her head, sending the older lioness to the ground.

"I knew you were plotting something!" Sharka growled, advancing on Sarafina, who was pinned down to the ground by Tama. "I warned you Sarafina," Sharka hissed, her voice full of hate. "I warned you that I'd kill you if I caught you planning anything! And what's even worse is that you dared try and corrupt Kion!"

"No that's not true!" Kion cried out, causing Sharka and Tama to look over at him in surprise. "I came to her!" the brown coated cub continued. "I'm the one that should be punished not her!"

"Nala would never allow any harm to come to you," Tama declared.

"Yes and its quite obvious that you wouldn't have these doubts if it wasn't for her!" Sharka snarled, her face inches from Sarafina's. "So she must die for it!" With that Sharka raised her paw to kill Sarafina.

TLKTLKTLK

"Kiara!" Safara cried, her dark blue eyes wide with surprise. "What the heck are you doing here?!"

"You should know you can't keep me away," Kiara said with a smile.

"Hey Kiara," Nuka said smiling at the ten mouth old cub.

"Hey there Nuk'," Kiara said, smiling back. Nuka went up to Kiara and rubbed against her. At first Kiara wanted to pull away but she soon found herself returning the young Prince's affection.

"Nuka knock it off!" Vitani snapped, getting between her brother and Kiara.

"What's your problem Vitani?" Nuka asked, glaring at his twin.

"My problem Nuka," Vitani said, sounding really annoyed. "Is that we can't trust her. Her and her brothers are the reason we got hurt remember?"

"Why would you say that?" Kiara asked, her green eyes wide.

"Maybe 'cause it's true!" Vitani cried out, glaring at the light brown cub. "I'll kill you!" With that Vitani began to lunge for Kiara. But Kovu quickly placed himself in front of the Princess.

"Alright Vitani just calm down," the golden brown cub said. "You can't go around getting in fights. You're still recovering."

"Yeah and from the looks of Kiara she's already been in a fight," Safara chimed in. Kiara looked down, embarrassed.

"Besides we already confronted them," Jasiri chimed in. "Well her and Kopa. They said they had nothing to do with your and Nuka's accident. And me and Kovu believed them."

"You're just sticking up for your boyfriend!" Vitani cried out.

"I am not!" Jasiri cried out. "And Kopa's not my boyfriend! So shut up Vitani!"

"Ahem," Moto said, causing the rest of the group to look over at him. "Can we please focus here?"

"Sorry Mo'," Kovu said. "We'll be quiet."

"Yeah we've got things settled," Safara chimed in. "Right Vitani?" The dark tan cub looked over at the younger Princess when she said this part.

"Yeah sure," Vitani said, her voice still having an edge to it. "I'll be quiet."

"Who are they?" Nuka asked, looking at Chafu and Nyeusi when he said this part.

"Oh I'm Nyeusi," Nyeusi said with a smile.

"And I'm her older, cooler brother Chafu," Chafu said with a grin. Nyeusi rolled her dark brown eyes when her brother said this.

"Nice to meet you," Nuka said, returning the smile.

"So where's Kopa?" Jasiri asked, looking around for the creamy brown cub.

"At home," Kiara said softly. "Mother gave us a sound beating. That's why I have all these scratches. But I was lucky. Kopa got a nasty concussion and passed out."

"Wow," Jasiri whispered, her brown eyes wide.

"That's awful," Nuka said, shaking his head.

"That's why we need your help," Kiara declared. "Mother is getting more and more violent. Its only a matter of time before she kills us. And Kion..." Kiara trailed off not quite sure if she should continue or not.

"What about Kion?" Vitani asked, anxious to hear about her brown coated friend.

"He...he's becoming so messed up," Kiara said, taking in a shaky breath. "He...he thinks there's no hope for him. I've tired to tell him that's not true but he just gets mad and hits me or yells at me." By now Kiara was on the verge of tears and she quickly looked away from the group.

"Hey its ok Ki'," Nuka said, giving Kiara a comforting nuzzle. Suddenly Kiara burst into tears and snuggled into Nuka's chest fur. Since she was ten months old compared to Nuka's four months she nearly knocked the golden brown cub over.

"He says he wants to be like him," Kiara said, her voice muffled by Nuka's fur.

"Like who?" Kovu asked.

"Like our father," Kiara whispered, pulling away from Nuka and looking down at the ground in shame once again.

"Your father?" Jasiri repeated, looking at the others who all had wide eyes.

"Yeah," Kiara said with a nod. "He's convinced that there's no hope for him. Just like there was no hope for our father. So he figured that if he's going to viewed as our father he may as well act like him. And nothing me, Kopa or our grandma say will convince him otherwise."

"Wow that's rough," Moto said, shaking his head.

"Wait I'm confused," Nuka said, shaking his head. "Why would it be so bad if Kion turned out like you father?"

"Because our father was about a million times worse than our mother ever could be!" Kiara exclaimed. "He was a cold blooded murderer. He killed his own brother for Kings Sake!"

"Wait a minute here," Kovu whispered, as it dawned on him who this mysterious lion was. He had heard his mother tell him horror stories of Scar and what kind of horrible monster he was.

"Whose your father?" Vitani asked. Kiara stared at the Princess for a second, debating on rather or not she should be honest. But then she decided that if she was going to get them to trust her she needed to be completely honest with them.

"Scar," Kiara whispered. "Our father is Scar." This confession caused the young animal to gasp in shock.

"No!" Kovu cried out, causing the group to look over at him in shock. "That can't be!" With that Kovu let out a snarl and tackled Kiara to the ground.
