Ch 20 Enacting the Plan
A month later things were getting slightly better. Kiara and Kopa had succeeded slightly in talking with Kion. They along with Safara, Nyeusi and Chafu had been heading to the Pride Lands and met with Kovu, Jasiri and the jackals almost everyday. On this particular day Kiara was having a chat with Kion while watching him train with Safara. "Hey Ky," the eleven month old cub said.
"What Kiara?" Kion snapped as he flipped Safara over his head.
"Can we talk some more?" Kiara asked.
"I'm busy right now," Kion said as he pounced on Safara once again.
"Please Ky," Kiara pleaded. "Its really important."
"Ugh fine," Kion grumbled, turning to face his older sister. "What do you want Kiara?" the seven month old cub asked, his voice a normal tone for once.
"I...uh was just wondering if you though about what me and Kopa were talking to you about yesterday?" Kiara asked, keeping her voice low and looking around to make sure no adults were around.
"Yeah I did," Kion said with a nod.
"And?" Kiara asked, trying not to let the impatience show.
"And I think you're crazy," Kion declared. "There's no way in Hell I'd ever step one paw in the Pride Lands."
"But Kion," Kiara said. "We just thought that you'd like to pay your respects to Grandma by visiting the place where she lived almost her entire life. Especially since Mother didn't allow us to."
"Yeah that was pretty messed up," Kion admitted, his voice coming out soft. "And what's even worse is that she won't allow anyone to tell us where she's buried."
"Exactly," Kiara said. "Which is why we should go into the Pride Lands to mourn her in our own way."
"Yeah," Kion said, looking down at the ground. I guess you do have a good point Kiara. Alright I'll go. But how to we explain to Mother why I'm not here training?"
"Leave that to me," Safara said with a smile. Kiara and Kion exchanged looks of confusion. Safara smiled again and walked towards the bushes. To the shock of Kiara and Kion Safara dug her face into the sharp thorns of the bush causing scratches to form all over her face. Suddenly the dark tan cub let out a high pitched scream, starling Kiara and Kion. "Mom!" Safara shouted. "Mom come quick!" Within seconds Tama came running along with Tama, Sharka and Nala. Kopa, Nyeusi and Chafu came seconds later.
"Safara what in the world is wrong?" Tama asked. Then she noticed the scratches on Safara's face. "Who did this to you?" the dark tan lioness snarled, her blue eyes flashing with anger.
"It...it was a...a hyena!" Safara stammered, forcing tears to come out of her eyes. "It was hiding in the bushes and...and it attacked me!" Safara broke down and "cried" into Tama's chest fur.
"Which way did the bastard go?!" Sharka demanded.
"He...he went to the west," Kiara stammered. "Me and Kion tried to stop him but he was to fast."
"Damn them!" Nala snarled. "I'll teach those scum a lesson they won't soon forget! Come Sharka and Tama!"
"I don't think I should leave Safara," Tama said, nuzzling her daughter.
"I'll be alright Mom," Safara said. "Really I will. And I'll feel a lot better once I know that creepy hyena is gone."
"Very well then," Tama said. "I'll be back soon." With that Tama, Nala and Sharka were gone, leaving the cubs alone.
"Heh told ya I could do it," Safara said with a laugh.
"You mean there wasn't a hyena?" Chafu asked, his hazel eyes wide with surprise.
"Nope," Safara said with a grin. "It was all a trick to get rid of the grown ups so we can go into the Pride Lands."
"You mean you've finally been convinced?" Kopa asked, looking at his twin with surprise.
"Yeah," Kion said. "Now lets go before I change my mind." Without waiting for a response Kion took off towards the Pride Lands.
"Hey wait for us!" Kopa called out as he and the other ran to catch up with Kion.

Meanwhile Kovu, Jasiri, Nuka and Vitani were waiting to meet with the Outland cubs. "Ugh this is so boring!" Vitani cried out.
"Vitani why don't you stop complaining?" Jasiri snapped, glaring at the five month old Princess.
"Keep it up Jasiri and I'll rip your face off!" Vitani growled, glaring at her eight month old friend.
"Try it!" Jasiri growled back.
"Alright knock it off you two," Kovu said, stepping in between the two lioness cubs.
"Move or be move Kovu!" Vitani hissed.
"I'd like to see you try and move me," Kovu said with a laugh. "I'm ten months old and twice your size Vitani. But seriously you need to calm down. Both of you." Kovu gave Jasiri a look when he said this part.
"I'm not just..." Vitani began. But she was cut off by Nuka's voice.
"Shh quiet," the five month old light gold cub said. "They're coming."
"Finally," Vitani muttered. Then her blue eyes went wide when she saw Kion with the group. "Kion!" the tan coated cub cried out, her blue eyes lighting up as she ran towards Kion and tackled him to the ground. "I've missed you," Vitani said, giving Kion a lick.
"Get off of me!" Kion cried out, shoving Vitani off of him and getting to his feet. "Don't ever do that again!" the brown coated seven month old cub hissed as he brushed himself off.
"Sorry," Vitani muttered, pinning her ears to her head. "I just missed you that's all. You don't have to be so mean."
"Kion be nice," Kiara hissed. "This isn't the Outlands. You don't have to be tough here."
"I don't like being tackled Kiara," Kion hissed back. "You know this."
"Yeah but she doesn't," Kiara said, nodding towards Vitani.
"Yeah," Kopa chimed in. "Cut her some slack will ya?"
"Fine," Kion grumbled. "Maybe I overreacted a little ok?"
"Alright then," Vitani said with a small smile.
"Thanks for sticking up for my sister," Nuka said to Kiara with a smile.
"No problem," Kiara said with a smile of her own. Nuka nuzzled Kiara, which surprised the eleven month old at first but soon she found herself nuzzling him right back.
"You're such a noble lion," Jasiri said, nuzzling Kopa, who let out a nervous laugh.
"Uh thanks Jasiri," Kopa stammered, blushing slightly. Kovu and Safara shook their heads laughed slightly. Only when they shook their heads they accidently bumped heads.
"Oh heh sorry about that Saf'," Kovu said with a nervous laugh.
"Oh heh its alright 'Vu," Safara said with a nervous laugh of her own.
"Well we gotta get goin'," Kion declared.
"Wait!" Vitani cried out. "Don't go!"
"Yeah we actually want to talk to you," Kovu said.
"Sorry no can do," Kion said, shaking his head. "We're only here to we can pay our respects to our Grandma. Then we've gotta get back before Mother comes back and finds us gone."
"Uh actually Ky we should probably stay," Kiara said. "Ya know hear them out or something." Kion gave his older sister a confused look. Then he looked at Kopa, who gave him an awkward smile. Then it dawned on the brown coated cub what was really going on.
"This was all a trick wasn't it?!" Kion growled, whipping around to face his brother and sister.
"No!" Kopa cried out, his blue eyes wide. "It wasn't a trick I swear it wasn't!"
"Liar!" Kion growled, baring his teeth and extending his claws.
"Kion please calm down," Kiara said, stepping between her two brothers. "Kopa had nothing to do with this. This was all on me."
"Then you're the one I'll rip apart!" Kion growled, advancing towards Kiara.
"Kion please," Kiara began. "Please calm down. I needed you to come here so you can see the truth!"
"And what truth is that?!" Kion demanded, glaring at Kiara.
"The truth about everything!" Kovu cried out, stepping in front of Kion. "You need to hear this Kion! Its for your own good!"
"Why should you care?!" Kion snarled, glaring at Kovu.
"I won't let you become as twisted at Nala and Scar," Kovu declared. "I need to help you, Kopa and Kiara."
"Why?" Kion demanded. "Why would you want to help us? We're Outlander cubs. We're the children of Nala. The children of Scar!"
"So am I!" Kovu cried out.
