Ch 22 Harsh Realization

"No!" Kion shouted, surprising his siblings and friends, "I'm not in. This whole thing is stupid!"

"Kion," Kopa began. But he was cut off by his brother's furious voice.

"You're even dumber than I thought!" the brown coated cub shouted as hit struck his brother in his face. The hit was unexpected and Kopa hit the ground hard.

"Don't you dare touch him!" Kiara shouted, shoving Kion as hard as she could, sending him to the ground.

"How dare you?!" Kion snarled as he got to his feet. "I'll kill you for that!"

"This isn't the Outlands Kion!" Kiara snarled back. "You don't get free reign here! You can't bully us anymore!"

"I hope Simba and his Pride rip you all apart!" Kion shouted, wiping the blood away from his eyes. "Cause if they don't Mother and I will! And that's a promise!" With that Kion turned and stormed back towards the Outlands.

"Ah who cares about him?" Chafu said, waving his paw.

"I can't believe we were so stupid to think he had any redeeming qualities," Kopa said, shaking his head.

"Yeah," Kiara said with a growl, her green eyes darkening with anger and rage. "He's just as twisted as Mother."

"C'mon lets go," Nyeusi said. With that the group of cubs headed towards Pride Rock, hoping that Simba wouldn't rip them to shreds when they go there.

Meanwhile Kion had returned to the Outlands. "Mother!" the seven month old cub cried out, running over to Nala, who looked at him with surprise.

"Where the Hell are your siblings?!" Nala demanded, getting right in Kion's face.

"In the Pride Lands," Kion informed his mother. "They're on Simba's side. Chafu, Nyeusi and Safara are as well. I tried to stop them but they ganged up on me and Chafu and Kiara are older and bigger than I am."

"They'll die for this!" Nala snarled, his eyes flashing with rage. "Ladies! Form ranks!"

"Nala what's going on?" Tama asked, dreading the answer.

"We're going to war!" Nala thundered. "Simba and his Pride are going to pay for their betrayal! And pay with blood! We're attacking now! And anyone who gets in our way will die as well!" Nala's Pride all roared in agreement and with that they all headed for the Pride Land, out for blood. Sharka and Tama exchanged looks of worry as they followed Nala, determined not to let her harm their cubs.

Meanwhile back at Pride Rock Simba and Zira had just finished getting their cubs settled when two lionesses from his Pride came running up to the King and Queen.

"Your Highnesses we've just seen something that you need to be aware of!" the light gold lioness cried out, her light brown eyes wide.

"What's wrong Suki?" Simba asked, the concern clear in his voice.

"Nala's children and their friends are heading this way!" Suki cried out.

"What?!" Simba thundered. His shouting got the attention of the rest of his Pride, including his children, who had come out of the cave along with Kovu and Jasiri to see what the shouting was about.

"Daddy what's going on?" Vitani asked. But the light tan Princess didn't have to wait for an answer because just then Kiara, Kopa, Chafu, Nyeusi and Safara came running up the side of Pride Rock. When Simba saw them he growled and bared his teeth at the cubs.

"What the Hell do you think you're doing?!" the golden King snarled, running up to the cubs, who backed up a step.

"King Simba please just hear us out!" Kiara cried out, her green eyes wide.

"The Hell I will!" Simba snarled. "I warned you what would happen if you came here again!" With that Simba raised his paw to strike the cubs.

"Dad no!" Nuka cried out, as he and Vitani ran in front of their father. Simba had to stop quickly in order not to hit his children.

"Vitani!" the golden King cried out, his amber eyes wide with surprise. "Nuka! What do you think you're doing?!"

"Stopping you from making a big mistake!" Vitani cried out. "Daddy they're not like their crazy mother!"

"Yeah Dad they really aren't," Nuka chimed in. "They've been trying to help us."

"Its true King Simba," Kovu said as he and Jasiri stepped forward. "They've been trying to help Nuka and Vitani ever since they almost died."

"They're the ones that are responsible for them almost dying!" Simba thundered.

"That's not true!" Chafu cried out. Simba shot the grey coated cub a glare and he gulped in fear. But he quickly regained his composure and continued, "Me, Nyeusi and Safara had nothing to do with that!"

"Its true King Simba," Jasiri chimed in. "Chafu, Nyeusi and Safara weren't even there."

"No but he was!" Simba growled, glaring at Kopa, who gulped in fear, his blue eyes wide.

"Y...yes I was there," Kopa stammered nervously. "But I..."

"I know it was you!" Simba thundered. "I know that it was you and your brother that almost killed my children!" Kopa gasped and his blue eyes went wide with fear as he stared at the furious King who was glaring at him.

"Simba stop this right now!" Sarabi cried out, causing her son to look at her with surprise.

"Mom!" Simba cried out, clearly shocked at his mother's outburst.

"Simba they're only cubs," Sarabi pointed out. "And clearly something major is about to happen if they're willing to risk everything to come up to Pride Rock and talk to you. Especially knowing how much bad blood there is."

"Yes Simba I'm inclined to agree with your mother," Zira piped up, walking up to her mate and sitting beside him. "And you really mustn't accuse them of something so horrible without proof."

"Yeah Dad," Nuka said. "Kopa has been trying to help us. If he had wanted us dead then he would have already killed us."

"Daddy you really should hear them out," Vitani said. "They would never hurt us."

"That's not true," Kopa began. But Kiara quickly nudged her brother hard in the ribs and shook her head.

"You got a death wish or somethin'?" Kiara hissed trough clenched teeth.

"Our mother is going to attack your Pride King Simba!" Kopa cried out. "She's the one that planned the attack on Vitani and Nuka and Kion helped her! He's the one that pushed them down the side of the gorge!"

"Its true King Simba," Nyeusi chimed in. "Kion's the one the pushed Vitani and Nuka down the side of the gorge."

"We thought we could help him but we realize now that he's way to far gone," Kiara piped up, the sadness clear in her voice. Simba looked at the brown coated cub then back at Kopa.

"When is this supposed attack going to happen?" Simba demanded, giving Kopa a glare.

"I...I'm not sure," Kopa admitted. "But..." Before he could continue Zazu came flying in looking frantic.

"Sire!" the hornbill cried out, perching in front of Simba. "Nala and her followers are heading this way! Its war!"

"Zazu alert the other animals to what's happening!" Simba commanded. "We're going to need their help!"

"Yes of course at once!" Zazu cried out as he flew out of the cave as fast as he could.

"Ladies form ranks!" Zira commanded. Instantly the lionesses were around their King and Queen.

"We're going to war!" Simba declared. "If Nala wants a fight then a fight is what's she's going to get. Lets go!" With that Simba and his Pride headed out to fight Nala and her Pride.

"Lets go!" Nuka cried out. "We're going to help too!"

"Right behind you!" Kopa cried out. With that the cubs ran after the adults determined to help at any cost.
