"Welcome to the Neo Site! The absolute zenith of the Neo-Fight technology! Why fight in your local area, when you can delve on into the virtual world and show your skills to everyone worldwide?! Full of a realistic world, a community of cardfighters, and all the fights you could ever ask for, truly! There is no equal for this world of fighters!" An announcer was declaring from a global screen in said Neo Site area...as off in the distance, atop one of the buildings, a fighter was knocked to the ground.

"Agh..!" They said, as their 6th damage was taken, as the fields vanished, as a boy with dark blue and white hair and purple eyes stared down at them, with a digital mark on their cheek. "What the hell..?! How are you so strong?!" They demanded.

"The card data you stole from those accounts. Hand it over." The boy demanded, as a small "AI" bird flew up next to them.

"You better listen to him! He beat you fair and square!" The bird chirped, as the fighter grunted, before hesitantly opening up a screen and tapping buttons.

"Fine! I didn't want the stupid cards anyway!" They said.

"Good. Then I'm sure you won't be causing any trouble again, not while I'm around." The boy said, turning around and starting to walk away.

"Hey! You never answered my question! Who the hell ARE you?!" The fighter asked, as the boy glanced back.

"I'm just a fighter." The boy said, as the bird chimed in.

"But not just any fighter! The resolved fighter of the shadows! The legendary...Cipher!" They declared.

"Cipher..?! You?! The infamous fighter who's been targeting a bunch of us hackers..?" He asked.

"You better believe it! The one and only! You better learn your place!" The bird said.

"Enough, Pip." The boy said, walking away, as the bird sighed, and flew after them, before both of them de-"materialized".

Waking up in a bed, the boy, now with black hair and no longer having a mark on his face removed a set of gear from his head and neo-fight glove, and opened his eyes, as a bird perched on the window edge looked over.

"...Amazing as always, Adrian!" The bird, Pip, said, flying over, as Adrian sat up. "Although it looks like you've spent just about as much time as you can for now...You better hurry to school! Another late slip or unmarked absence and the teacher's gonna be all over you!" Pip told him.

"I know." Adrian said, getting up and stretching, and putting his bag over his shoulder.

"Maybe you should eat something." Pip suggested as well.

"The human body can go over well over 5 days without eating, I can do without breakfast." Adrian said, before heading out, as Pip sighed, and flew into his bag.

"Fine, just don't be late to class, I don't wanna hear that teacher's loud voice again..." Pip commented. "Man, a full time Vanguard vigilante, and you don't even get any respect for it. The whole anonymous alias isn't doing you any favors, huh, "Cipher"?" He asked, as Adrian shook his head.

"I don't care. It's not about getting known. I'll leave that to those big shots who claim to have things under control." Adrian said.

"Yeah...Fair enough. Can't wait to see the looks on their faces when you do their jobs for them, though." Pip chirped with anticipation.
