Hi! I made up a lot of things in this chapter because it wouldn't make sense for the Cullens to still live in Washington with the kids not aging. Especially since it is more than a ten-year gap. And I know people can stay relatively the same but make it easier I've placed them in Maine. I also omitted the small group that Jasper and Alice originally were traveling with because it would be confusing. Stay Safe and Healthy! -theworldiscrazy

Hermione landed gracefully. She was in a dense woods this time. There were ash trees surrounding her with the earthy smell filling her lungs. The sky was bright blue and the sounds of grey partridges singing. Curious, she looked around and decided to wait. Last time she was in a forest she had to help save Emmett, Hermione's thoughts were perhaps there would be something happening that she was supposed to see. She, after all, had just been thrown outside a diner with no purpose that she could see yet. Hermione heard crunching in the leaves. Her arms pricked with the sense heightened, and she felt herself almost bouncing on her feet in anticipation. A giant moose walked through the undergrowth and emerged through the trees. It was towering and it looked peeved off. Hermione tried not to make sudden moves to get out of its range of sight. It didn't work but moose was aggravated by something else. There was a rushing gust of wind and the whoops of a males voice. It sounded like Emmett's voice,it was a rich deep sound but still managed to be full of childlike wonder. The moose got tackled with four vampires hot on the efforts of killing the giant beast. Hermione took a guess that they recognized her scent, was too into the hunt to notice a human or didn't think a human would be out in the middle of nowhere. But she guessed the former as after a quick takedown her family turned to her with blood slightly dripping down their mouth and announced their greetings. Hermione only smiled at them and wished she had a camera to take a picture of them. Carlisle kicked his lips and took off the residual blood. Taking large strides to his lovely soul mate. He kissed her and encased her in the only hug that felt like home. They shared a tender moment with short more intimate greetings and if their children couldn't hear them. Then she opened her arms and went to hug the rest of her family. Edward gave her a kiss on the forehead and sweet hello. Rosaline gave her a tight hug with two kisses on the cheeks. Emmett decided to lift her up and twirl her around like a small child. Hermione shrieked at his attempts to remind her of flying. Grinning with the salutations down Hermione learned that it was 1950 and they were in Maine. They had moved so not to raise suspicion and lived in a secluded area in the forest they were in. No neighbors in miles but Carlisle still made his way to the nearest town to help be their general doctor and the kids didn't attend school this time around. Hermione nodded, she was curious how the diner scene played into any of this when no new mention of vampires popped up.

"So no new siblings?" Hermione asked for a second time.

"Nope. Wouldn't that be something you knew before us?" Emmett waggled his eyebrows suggestively.

Rosaline, Carlisle, and Edward all reached over to smack him.

"The potion makes me jump the timeline in ways that are supposed to be relevant to my soulmate. But I got stopped at a diner with two different vampires. It was only for a second but I'm surprised. Maybe it's a glitch that I have to tell Professor Snape about." Hermione bit her lip trying to work on a reasonable explanation.

They all couldn't make sense of the mini time leap either. But Carlisle declared it was time to go home. With a kiss he requested she hop on his back and they would go home. Hermione relented at the carrying and grabbed tightly. She still felt apparition would be easier but knew Carlisle just missed her.

Off they went to the house. It was spacious but still felt cozy. The wooded logs felt like a rustic cabin with a cozy fireplace, large counter space enough to be able to allow all the Weasleys to sit comfortably, big windows looking out to beautiful lust trees and enough bedrooms to feel like she was in Buckingham Palace. She could imagine having giant order meetings or having everyone over for camping or rather a glamping, glamorous camping. Carlisle showed her to their room. With a giant master, walk-in closet and bathroom she felt it was gorgeous and perfect for them. She unpacked the outfits the bag provided her into the closet and giggled at the absurdity of it all.

Carlisle came up behind her and kissed her neck. "Welcome home mi amour" Hermione leaned back into his embrace and kissed him.

"It's good to be home." She whispered back. Hermione dragged him onto the bed. Not that she actually needed to use any force. He willingly let himself be positioned where she wanted him to be. They cuddled in bed even if they weren't married because for them, regardless of the ring and vows, they felt married. The family accepted them as married without the ceremony until Hermione stopped bouncing around time where they could have a ceremony. They had missed each other dearly so the freezing cold cuddles were worth it to Hermione.

There was a knock on the door. It almost sounded comically loud to the quiet house. Everyone had been doing quieter activities that afternoon. Edward was writing songs and Emmet and Rosaline were being very domestic and discussing designs for their bedroom. Carlisle moved Hermione off the bed and behind him in seconds. He was being protective when he went down the hall to the front door. Everyone's heads were peaking out of their respective rooms they were in. Suddenly the hall felt much longer and ominous as the long halls of the Ministry of Magic's. The large wooden door banged softly again. It felt like it rung through the whole house. Hermione was right behind Carlisle but Emmet and Edward held her back. They put themselves as a protective shield with their bodies in front of the women. Hermione and Rosaline felt it was polite but they could definitely defend themselves if necessary. The knock came a third time, the Cullens were In the middle of nowhere it was unlikely they would get visitors. Even the odds of a car broken down wouldn't be common this far out.

So Carlisle braced himself for whatever was beyond the door frame and opened it. There stood two people, a short woman with a pixie cut and a taller man with dirty blonde hair. They were facing each other but their bodies were pointed at the door. When the door opened their heads practically whipped forward. The woman smiled warmly.

"Hello! I thought I saw you would be here," the woman said, offering no explanation on the familiarity she had.

The man next to her said nothing till she nudged him. "I'm Jasper and this is Alice. We hear you are a coven."

Carlisle spoke, "I'm afraid I haven't heard anything about you. Are you from the Volturi or did we meet in passing? I do have to correct you as well we are not a coven but a family."

The woman identified as Alice practically was bouncing on her heels. "Perfect! I forgot that is what you call yourselves."

Edward stepped forward to go behind Carlisle. "She speaks of the truth. She has seen us before but I do not recognize her."

Alice said "Oh? Do you experience emotions as Jasper does? That's his gift. I have the gift of sight."

Hermione almost rolled her eyes but then paused and analyzed the situation. She did know there were true Seers. Hermione knew she also did not have the gift of sight but she was pretty certain her good friend Luna did. So perhaps it was an interesting vampire trait she had never seen before. She tried standing on her tippy toes to get a look at the couple.

Edward saw what she was doing and causally slumped across the rest of the door frame so the couple couldn't get in but Hermione could peek. She audibly gasped when she did see them. It was the couple from the diner! Carlisle turned his head in concern but she shook hers slightly to indicate she was fine. She wondered if they were to become her new children. The potion might have known they were important to her without her knowing it yet and since Carlisle didn't save them she figured the potion gave her a quick glimpse.

Carlisle coughed uncomfortably, still a habit he did to blend in with the mortals. "So I am to assume you are vampires? We only drink animal blood and refer to ourselves as a family if you are to join us."

Alice was quick to answer. "I know all about your diet. We have been practicing for the last couple of years to prepare. Jasper and I met at a diner about two years ago and I've prepared him. I personally don't love drinking human blood anyway."

Jasper nodded with her responses but kept quiet. All their distrust was making him feel as if this was a bad idea but Alice hadn't led him wrong yet. He felt curiosity as well and even more curious he heard a steady heartbeat and breathing.

"You say you feed off animals but you have a human in the house?" Jasper's only comment was analyzed by multiple different heads all at once. Their emotions were mixed with uncertainty, but one stood out as calm. He clung to that feeling so as not to run away from this madness. Alice put a hand on his shoulder.

Edward answered before Carlisle had a chance to. "Yes. That is our mother." Hermione smiled and felt pride in her son's answer. She moved closer and pushed him out of the way. She didn't let go of caution all the way and still had her wand drawing skills, but shuffled in the doorway with Carlisle.

"Hello. Terribly sorry we haven't opened the door fully. It was on the side of caution but did come in. We will have much to discuss. I am so very excited to hear all about you." Hermione graciously said.
