Hello! Happy New Year! I am struggling to come up with some interesting plots before she gets sent to the present. So this is a short chapter but I think I have a couple of ideas so hopefully I will be writing a bit more sooner. I enjoy reading all your comments and if you have any ideas you want to pitch, I'm all ears. Thanks for reading :)

Hermione sat next to Carlisle holding hands on the couch, with the fire roaring in the fireplace. It felt cozy, her favorite time of year was the fall and the winter for the holidays. She thought of how poor Harry must be stuck under the stairs. Looking at her family as they were busy bustling about, she felt it unfair that she was given joy while he remained neglected and abused at this time. Hermione wondered if there was some way she could help ease his misery until he could be rid of the horrible situation he was in.

"What if we take a trip down to Pivot Drive and try and magic Harry's living arrangements?" Hermione pondered aloud. She knew in her heart and her head the answer to it, she just hated thinking of her best friend suffering.

"Hermione, I wish we would. But you said that you weren't allowed to change anything that will affect him or the future. You also said that if you started to think like that we had to tell you no." Edward said as he swooped over from the piano bench to where his mother was. He gave her a quick peck on the forehead.

Hermione looked up at him and sighed, she already knew he was right and she had said that. Carlisle squeezed her hand twice as a way to demonstrate a silent "I love you" but he nodded with Edwards statement.

She turned her attention to her children instead of dwelling on the unfortunate thoughts.

"What about you guys getting degrees?" Hermione asked the group.

Emmett groaned out loud. "Not schoolllll. There is a reason I chose to go into manual labor Mommmmmm."

Rosalie shook her head at him and leaned down over him. She gave him a quick peck but also whispered ever so faintly that the vampires needed to strain to hear her. "Behave right now or you will be sleeping on the couch. Hermione needs a distraction and we are going to provide it." If Emmett had blood, it would have rushed to his cheeks and he coughed uncomfortably. "Sorry Mom."

Alice smirked at her brother's antics and looked over at Hermione. "I think school would be fun, maybe do a fun degree."

Jasper was ready to agree with Alice, he thought about her in a cute preppy college look. He grinned widely at the adult themed thoughts.

Edward outwardly gagged. "JASPER! CUT IT OUT!"

Jasper chuckled as he watched his brother's reaction.

Hermione shook her head and untangled herself from Carlisle's grasp before making her way to the kitchen to get some tea.

On the way to the kitchen she noticed a figure at the end of the hall through their glass door.. Then it disappeared. She gasped and whipped out her wand. Inching towards the door, she noticed the rest of the family flanked behind her. They didn't know what had happened but they had her back. Hermione opened the door and looked left and right. There wasn't anyone but there were fresh footprints outside the snow.

The family had been so preoccupied they hadn't noticed what had happened or heard anything till then. Alice couldn't see the figure so she wondered if it was another witch or wizard. Edward hadn't heard any thoughts so they might have been blocking it or he was still distracted from seeing his sister in a risque outfit. They didn't hear a heartbeat except for Hermione's in the darkness.

She shook her head and told everyone to come back inside. It was pointless to be out there as the person was long gone. Carlisle had his arm around her as he continued to scan the area leading her back into the house. The siblings all did the same as they tried to work out clues on what could have happened and who it could have been.

The figure who had vanished had been under an invisible cloak, he was waiting to see what kind of vampires the coven was before he approached them to be on the right side of history. He knew that they would make a powerful ally to the Dark Lord. He had been tracking them down once he had learned about the vampire covens all over the world from a low life vampire willing to spill his secrets with a bit of torture.

The next morning Hermione woke up to a bustling house. The family had been busy mobilizing and making it possible for the family to leave as soon as possible. They were going to a different property away from whoever it was. They were all so uncomfortable with not knowing who was in their yard. Hermione agreed with their assessment and decided to let her family feel better about the situation.

Within a few hours, the family had mobilized to be on a plane to France. Hermione stared out the window of the plane watching the water below. Then she cuddled into Carlisle as they flew to the city of love, and hopefully a safer place for them to be.
