writingwife-83 asked: For the trope combinations, how about 40 (almost kiss) & 69 (flirting under fire)?

Funny story...I was supposed to write a story synopsis for a trope mashup post on tumblr...and instead I did ficlets. Here's the first, rated T.

Sherlock ducked back down after firing another round of shots at Moriarty's goons. "So, about dinner..." he began.

Molly rose up to her knees and fired off another salvo before sinking back down next to him behind the low wall that was their only cover. "Seriously, Sherlock, flirting? Now?"

He shrugged as he slammed a new clip into his handgun. "If not now, when? If not me, who?" he misquoted at her with his best devil-may-care grin.

Molly sighed, struggling to bite back a grin at his cheekiness. "Fine," she capitulated after he'd finished off the last of the henchmen. At least, she hoped it was the last; they were running dangerously low on ammo. But not, she thought with an internal giggle, amo. "Dinner it is. You're paying, you're picking me up, and I don't care if the maitre d' is an embezzler or the head chef is a serial poisoner - no case interruptions this time, got it?"

He leaned forward as if to kiss her, then sprang to his feet, letting off one last shot to take down the villain who'd crept up on them. "Got it," he agreed.
