Thank you! I've been hoping I could get good at writing in a more traditional format and I'm glad I made a good start.

Haha! That is kinda similar to Paper Mario's intro. In fact, Bowser's plan in this is like Paper Mario. I wonder if the writers of this game were inspired by that. As for the guy Bowser defeated, we'll get to him later.

Oh, he's back alright! He's bad to the bone!

Thank you!

Just like with Sunshine, this is gonna fill in a few plot holes. We'll get to the OC later. He's not gonna be introduced immediately like Aqua did.

I've been a fan of you even before I started writing fanfiction, so of course I took inspiration. Thanks for sticking around!
Chapter 2: Peach's Letter
The Star Festival, held once every one hundred years. Colorful chunks coming in all sorts of different colors came raining down from the sky. These were called Star Bits, and they were a sign that the comet only seen once a century was about to arrive. The citizens all over the kingdom were trying to catch as many of them as they can possibly hold. Our story starts at Peach's Castle, where the lovely and fair Princess Peach was giving a letter to her friend, Parakarry.
"Thanks Parakarry! Happy Star Festival!" Peach waved goodbye.
"You too, Princess! Have a good night!" Parakarry responded as he flew off with the letter. As he did, Peach was thinking about someone. Someone who meant the world to her. Ever since he showed up in the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach would always feel safe around him. All of the stress, agony, and pain of being a hard working authority and getting kidnapped every week would wash away whenever he was there. Oh, how she was excited to spend the night with him.
But before she could start daydreaming, something white fell in front of her from the sky. At first she thought it was a Star Bit, but it wasn't bouncing up and down like one normally would. Upon closer examination, she saw some sort of small white creature with black eyes, fingerless stubs as arms and legs, and a pointed top. He looked sort of like a star, and was kinda cute, but also appeared to be scared and confused.

"Wh-Where am I?" The creature wondered, looking around his unfamiliar environment.
Peach didn't know what to think of this creature or where he could've come from, but gave him a nice warm smile.
"Oh, hello there little guy! What's your name?" She asked the little one politely.
"I-I'm… Luma," he stuttered with tears in his eyes. "Do… Do you know where my mama is?"
"Your mama? I don't know. What does she look like?" Peach responded, wanting to help Luma.
"Well, she has hair…" he began to describe to the best of his ability. "two arms, two legs, a mouth, a nose, and an eye."
Peach didn't have much to make of that description. Practically everyone she's ever met could match that almost perfectly, sans the part where he mentioned his mother having AN eye. But this creatures mother had to be something she'd never seen before, so she frowned.
"Um… sorry… I don't think I've met anyone who matches that description," she apologized.
"Oh…" said the luma, disappointed. "Well… can you show me how to get back to the Gateway to the Starry Sky?" he then asked.
Discombobulation covered Peach's facial features, for she had never heard of such a place.
"The WHA?!" she said confused.
"Oh… I'll never get back home…" Luma began to cry. Peach picked him up and tried to cheer him up.
"Hey, don't worry, sweetie. I know someone who I think can help you. And luckily for you, he'll be on his way here soon."

Meanwhile, just outside of the Mushroom Kingdom stood a small house with the logo "MARIO" on it. The brave hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, sat on the steps leading to his front door, watching the Star Bits fall down from the beautiful night sky.
"Ah… what a beautiful night!" he exclaimed. Just then, a Star Bit fell down and began bouncing up and down next to him. Mario grabbed it and stared at it for a few seconds.
"You know, I always wondered what these things tasted like. I heard people say they were like candy." Mario then caught a whiff and it smelled pretty good, so he ate it and chewed it up.
"Mmm!" he exclaimed, feeling his taste buds tingling. "Tastes like honey!"
"Mail call!"
Mario overheard the call and saw his good friend Parakarry, the Mushroom Kingdom's local mail Paratroopa, approach him.
"Oh, hi Parakarry! Working late tonight?" Mario greeted.
"Well technically, I was flying around Peach's Castle collecting those star candy thingies, when the princess asked me to give this to you." He held out the letter for Mario.
"A letter from the princess?" Mario's cheeks flushed as red as his clothes at the thought of Peach.
"Yep! You can even smell her perfume from the letter!" Parakarry gave the envelope to Mario. The plumber opened it immediately, wondering what it was about.

"Dear Mario,
I'll be waiting for you at the castle on the night of the Star Festival. There's something I'd like to give you.
From, Peach
P.S. I also invited a special guest over for the Star Festival as well. Keep an eye out for him, because I know he'll be happy to see you."
Mario got really excited reading the letter, knowing that this night had now gotten even better. With this excitement, he put the letter in his pocket and dashed off towards the Mushroom Kingdom.
"YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Bye Mario! Happy Star Festival!" Parakarry waved goodbye. "Man, that plumber's a lucky fella," he said to himself.
