Before we start, I'd like to announce that I OFFICIALLY got Super Mario 3d All Stars! I will be using that game's version of Galaxy for research from now on since it's now much more convenient for me than turning on my old Wii. Though unless the sequel gets a Switch port, I'll have to go back to it when I eventually make Part 2. I will also be taking the soundtrack names from that game from this point onward. Now then, onto your reviews.

I'm really glad you're enjoying Aster! I'll be honest, when creating him, I was mixed on whether people would like him that much or not.

I'm sorry about the phrasing. Dialogue happens to be my biggest strength when it comes to writing. Not so much for the phrasing coming with said dialogue. I'm trying my best.

He does happen to care very much for Rosalina. So whatever is offense to her offends him as well. I figured that since Rosalina has begun to trust Mario, she'd be comfortable with sharing a bit of information about her, as well as a more personal side to her. Of course I didn't have her reveal everything about herself. It's too early in the story for that. But it's safe to assume that Mario can trust her from what he does know, and can somewhat look up to her as a mother figure.

Even without Galaxy 2, the Switch is still the ultimate Mario machine just from how many Mario games you can play on it. Huge variety! Still wish for it to get added.

I got my copy from Target, so I suggest checking out your local stores. However, because of what's going on currently, I HIGHLY discourage going shopping just for the sole purpose of getting 3d All Stars. Your life matters more than any game, so try looking for it while you're also shopping for groceries or clothes, or anything that's important.

If you fail to get the game before the deadline, I'm sure the three games will be sold separately on the eShop.

I wanted Captain Toad to play a bigger role than just sitting around waiting for Mario. In the original game, he claimed to be helping Mario, when he really wasn't helping at all. And so, this idea surfaced! He's still rather cowardly at this point, as he won't be facing any big baddies or anything, but our captain will be going after some secret stars in the game. Including the ones Luigi would normally go after.

I won't. But go check out my friend, nintendoscript15. He has what you're looking for. I do Mario and Luigi, he does Paper Mario. Trust me, his stories are worth reading. His characters, Alex and Leah, are even in this story! So you can tell I certainly enjoy his work.

Amethyst Goldenwind

Thank you! I wanted him to have a bigger role than he did in the original game.

I'd like to think she manages to deal with it because she knows it's just the natural way of things. Lumas come and go. They were destined to transform. Besides, when old Lumas go, new ones come in.

Hey listen, I'm glad you enjoy my story. But if you're gonna review, can you actually say something meaningful about the chapter, and some things you like about it? It seems to me like you're reviewing just for the sake of reviewing.

nintendoscript15

In the chapter that introduced Aster, I showed you what Mario's friends are going through. Alex is stuck in captivity by an alien tribe, likely feeling claustrophobic, Leah is in a frozen tundra and gets hypothermic from it, and Luigi is stuck in a place full of ghosts and monsters that will likely torture and scar him for life. They are still alive, but they're not safe!

Nataly Guardado

I'm not a Pokemon fan, so I looked up what you were talking about, and they look nothing alike. They're both bugs, but that's about it.

Chapter 12: Big Bad Bugaboom

[BGM: Peach's Castle - New Super Mario Bros. U]

Peach's Castle

As her castle was still afloat in outer space, Peach cried in her room, having lost hope.

"I've lost Luma, Mario's g-g-gone…, Luigi' trapped in a place where no one's returned, Alex and Leah could be anywhere…, and now Bowser's lifted my home away…" Peach trailed on, but soon came to a conclusion. "Yep… my life is over…"

Peach was about to fall asleep in her tears, only to get startled when Bowser opens the door to her room in a good mood.

"'Sup, beautiful? Y'know, since my Galaxy is currently in the early stages of construction, and I have to wait quite a while, I thought maybe we could talk for a bit," Bowser suggested.

Peach just groaned. "Bowser we've been through this before, I'm not interested in having a casual conversation with you. There's probably nothing I can do to stop you from just barging into my room, but could you AT THE VERY LEAST knock before you do so?!"

"Now, now, Princess. I like your attitude, but you know I'm not gonna take your orders. Let me remind you, my dear, that this place is under MY control now. Therefore, you are to follow my rules, whether you like it or not!" Bowser said sternly. "If you behave yourself, maybe I'll give you the liberty of exploring anywhere besides this room, but try to escape, and punishment is certain for you."

"Fine…" Peach rolled her eyes.

Kamek came into the room.

"Your nastiness, may I speak with you for a moment?"

Bowser growled. "Is this important? I'm having a chat with Princess Peach."

Kamek grew nervous. "Well… yes it is. We have a bit of a problem."

"Tell me about it outside."

Bowser and Kamek walked outside and shut the door, hoping that Peach wouldn't hear.

"Lord Bowser, you know that pink swirly stuff you have being made in the Gateway Galaxy?"

"You mean the cake frosting for the galaxy-sized cake Peach will be baking me?" Bowser licked his lips just thinking about how delicious it would be.

"Yeah… well you see… someone stole the power source for the machine making it," Kamek informed.

Bowser's daydreams of eating cake stopped upon hearing that. "WHAT?! Who stole it?!"

Kamek began to sweat. "Who? Well, uh… You're not gonna be pleased about this, but…"

"Well? TELL ME!" the koopa king roared.

"Err… Maybe it's better if I just show you rather than telling," Kamek suggested, which Bowser agreed to.

Kamek used his magic wand to show a projection of the machine getting shut down. Bowser's eyes widen in horror when he sees who grabbed the Grand Star. That mustachioed man with the blue overalls and red cap was all too familiar to him, and he didn't like it one bit. Kamek could tell, as he started to get frightened when Bowser curled his arm into a fist.

"You mean… to tell me… that Mario is still… ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE?!" he roared with fury. His roar was so loud, everyone in the castle could hear it. Including Peach, who was overwhelmed with happiness hearing that her hero was safe. She didn't say anything, though, as she didn't want Bowser to know she heard him (even though it was obvious, but Bowser's not too bright).

"I SWEAR TO GRAMBI'S NAME, KAMEK! I ACTUALLY THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD! A BLAST LIKE THAT SHOULD'VE KILLED HIM! HOW IS HE ALIVE?! HOW?!" Bowser continued to bellow.

"Bowser! Remember your blood pressure!" Kamek yelled in concern, which garnered Bowser to take out a bag and breathe into it for a moment. "I don't know how he's still alive, but the important thing is that he's out there and is collecting the stars you stole as we speak. If we don't stop him, he'll have enough to be able to reach the center of the universe where you're building your galaxy!"

"Hmm… Well, the galactic bases are still being worked on, with the first one almost finished. I'll have to order the troops to install more traps."

"Hey, papa!"

Bowser and Kamek turned over to the end of the hallway to see Junior approaching them.

"I overheard. That bad Mario is still alive?"

Bowser growled. "Unfortunately yes, son."

Bowser Jr. grinned. "Well normally I wouldn't say this, but I'm actually kinda glad. You see, me and some of the troops have been working on a secret project that I think will solve all of our problems, and I didn't want it to go to waste. It's at your first base if you wanna see it."

Bowser was intrigued by this.

"Hmm… Sure, son. I'd like to see it."

The two Bowser's and Kamek walked away. Peach heard the whole conversation and wrote down what she learned in a letter. Once she wrapped it up in an envelope, she sent it out to space and prayed.

"Oh Grambi, please let this letter reach Mario… wherever he is right now," Peach prayed.

Meanwhile at the first base, Bowser and Kamek were blown away at the view of the project.

"So, whaddaya think Papa?" Junior asked for approval.

"Son…" Bowser slowly started, and then quickly laughed in delight giving him a pat on the back. "You have outdone yourself! Look at this thing! Mario will know just how a Goomba feels… BUT WORSE!"

Both Bowsers and Kamek laughed together.

Comet Observatory

[BGM: Rosalina in the Observatory 1 - Super Mario Galaxy]

Mario was licking some honey off his clothes, which he just noticed after coming back from Honeyhive Galaxy.

"Mmm, this stuff is absolutely amazing!" Mario said as he licked it off.

Aster scoffed. "Yes, because nothing is more delicious than bee..."

"Woah, woah, Aster! There could be kids reading this!" Mario interrupted.

The space hero shrugged. "So? They're going to find out eventually."

"That doesn't mean that you straight up tell them where honey comes from," Mario argued. "Why don't you tell them about the birds and the bees while you're at it?"

Aster smirks.

"That's not a bad idea. You see, when a Mommy and Daddy love each other very much…"

"Okay, okay, be quiet before this fic gets marked with an M rating!" Mario warned.

"Fine, party pooper." Aster scoffed again.

Captain Toad came and approached them.

"Hey guys, I found a Power Star that you seemed to have missed in Good Egg Galaxy." He shows the star.

"Really? Thanks! Where was it?" Mario asked.

"On top of a red house," answered Toad.

"My vacation house? How did both of us miss that?" Aster said, dumbfounded.

"Maybe it landed there after we left," Mario assumed. "But thanks, Toad! Keep up the good work!"

"You bet I will! Because, take a look at this!"

Toad led them over to the garage, where the Toads and Lumas just finished building a starship. It was a large metallic red mushroom with windows taking place of the spots.

"Introducing the Starshroom! We'll use this baby to help you guys search for Power Stars! And we, the members of the Toad Brigade, will be the brave crew by your side!" Toad saluted.

"That's amazing, Toad! I wish the best of luck for you and your crew out there!" Mario gave him a thumbs up.

"You too, Mario! Oh, and I forgot to mention! We'll be building multiple Starshrooms for each member of my crew. So keep an eye out for those."

Both heroes bid Toad goodbye.

"Your mushroom friend sure has good taste in machinery's ," Aster complimented.

"Yeah. Toad is a fun gi! … See what I did there?" Mario joked.

"Yeah…" Aster dryly replied. "So… I guess there's one more Star we need to take care of in Honeyhive. We should head over there."

Mario agreed. So they went into the Terrace, selected Honeyhive Galaxy, and took off for the bee colony one last time.

Honeyhive Galaxy

[BGM: Course Intro - Super Mario Galaxy]

There was panic in the Honeyhive, for the Mandibugs have invaded the kingdom after hearing about how Mario and Aster defeated the Stink Bug Parent on the Observation Deck. They've taken it as an act of war and were attacking the bees.

[BGM: Big Bad Bugaboom - Super Mario Galaxy]

Once Mario and Aster landed on the starting planet, they were confused by all the chaos.

"What's going on?!" Mario yelled in confusion.

A bee came up to them in panic.

"Augh! Thank goodness you guys came back! The whole Mandibug clan has infested our kingdom! Please, save us!" the bee begged.

"Bugaboom!" Aster growled.

"What?" queered Mario.

"He's the leader of the Mandibugs! He must've been behind this invasion! We gotta stop him! Mario, if there's anytime you teach me your ground pound move, it would be now!"

"Okay, okay! It's easy! Just jump up, flip forward, and land on your bottom with a thud." Mario demonstrated this.

Aster attempts it a few times. After at least ten tries, he got it. "Like this?"

"Good! You got it! Now, let's-a stomp some Mandibugs."

Mario and Aster traveled all over the Honeyhive Kingdom, pounding all of the Mandibugs attacking the bees. They even found a Life Mushroom and a Bee Mushroom on the way.

Once all the Mandibugs were dealt with, Bee Mario and Bee Aster approached the Honey Queen, who was at the end of the tunnel behind the waterfall.

"It's good to see you made it here! The neighbors are causing trouble again! We would be most grateful for your assistance," she requested.

"We're on it, your highness! Bugaboom will pay!" Aster bowed as the Launch Star appeared.

[BGM end]

Using the Launch Star, the two bee protagonists were transported to a flat planet with several flower stems, a huge tree in the center with a few honeycombs on it which a few beetles were stuck to, and a shallow river of water on it.

"Keep your eyes peeled. This is where Bugaboom resides," said Bee Aster.

Luma peaked out of Bee Mario's cap.

"Mario, I'm scared…" Luma admitted.

"Don't worry, Luma. We've got this! This 'Bugaboom' guy won't know what's coming to him," Mario reassured.

Just as he said this, though, they heard loud buzzing from above and gasped as a large Mandibug landed in front of them. It looked like the rest of its kind, except it was green, had fly-like wings, six longer legs, and a flat body rather than a round one.

"Bugaboom!" Bee Aster went into his battle pose, while Bee Mario did so as well.

[BGM: Bouncing Boss Battle - Kirby Triple Deluxe]

Bugaboom roared at them and charged right at the duo, snapping his pincers like , Mario and Aster were able to use their flight abilities to dodge up above that attack and pound ground him from above.

Bugaboom growled and proceeded to take off with his wings. Mario was shocked by this.

"He can fly?!"

"WATCH OUT!" Aster pointed up to Bugaboom, who was now dropping bombs from his belly as he flew in the air. "We'll have to use those flowers to reach him!"

Mario followed Aster to the next flower, dodging the bombs that Bugaboom dropped. They waited for the massive Mandibug to get close enough, ground pounding onto it once it did.

"Ha! Eat that!" Mario smirked, but Bugaboom got back up and turned red with anger. This time, he flew even faster, while also flipping to its side to avoid getting stomped again.

Every time they tried to use the flower and hit him, the bug would flip to his side. Aster was starting to get worried, while Mario had an idea seeing the bombs getting dropped.

He turns toward the camera. "What I'm about to do isn't possible in the actual game. Sorry if it's kinda cheating, but some corners have to be cut."

Mario hit a bomb below Bugaboom to knock him out of the sky, giving both heroes the chance to ground pound him one last time.

[BGM end]

Once they did, Bugaboom roared in pain before collapsing on the ground, exploding, where a Power Star emerged from the bug's corpse.

[BGM: A Chance to Grab a Star! - Super Mario Galaxy]

Both heroes gave each other a high five as they celebrated.

"We did it! Nice work, pal!" Aster gave a thumbs up.

"You too!" Mario said as they both grabbed the star.

YOU GOT A STAR!

"WAHOO!"

"YES!"
