Yggdmillennia turns the Fourth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki into a Great Holy Grail War by becoming the Black Faction, except all of the Servants of Black are characters from A Certain Magical Index.

2. The Players Are Set

The Players Are Set

As a certain dimension-hopping vampire named Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg would tell you, there are an infinite number of universes and timelines that form a Kaleidoscope of possibilities. Some of these universes can have the same people, just with different choices made, and some can have totally different people and totally different rules of nature and magic.

For one point of divergence, in the 1940's, a Magus named Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia competed in the Third Holy Grail War. Despite getting the help of the Nazi army, Darnic failed to acquire the Holy Grail as his Servant was eventually killed, though he did kill another competitor, a rival named Zouken Matou, and his Servant. However, Darnic was unaware that Zouken was actually his original consciousness inside a mass of parasitic worms centuries old, and all Darnic did was kill his host body. The Third Holy Grail War ended in a no contest when the Holy Grail's vessel was accidentally destroyed, making the remaining Servants disappear.

After taking a new host body, Zouken decided to lay low and wait until the next Holy Grail War to try to achieve his wish of true immortality, rather than having to take host bodies. Darnic also survived and decided to wait until the next Holy Grail War to achieve his wish of reaching the Root, the Akashic Records where all knowledge, especially True Magic, could be achieved. Darnic found a way to maintain his youth, which other Magi assumed was a supreme form of Magecraft he was keeping secret, but in reality was him occasionally consuming a human's soul to replenish his youth.

As the years passed, Darnic became a respected member of the Clock Tower and the Mage's Association, even when he did something unprecedented. Instead of working on siring heirs to try to create a stronger next generation of Magi, he instead adopted individuals from various failed Magus families, making them part of the Yggdmillennia family. His reasoning was that this way, he could keep his own Magic Crest and have various successors with their own Magic Crest. Due to not sharing his method of eternal youth, various family members lived and died over the years and his blood relatives eventually died out, meaning everyone in his family was adopted. In the 1990's, Darnic became especially fond of Fiore Forvedge Yggdmillennia. Although her legs were crippled due to a malfunction in her Magic Circuits, she was a true prodigy in Magecraft, which was all a typical Magus would care about, and Darnic named her his successor. The family members wore a white, vaguely military-style uniform as a sign of solidarity, though they were allowed to customize it.

It was around the start of December 1994. Risei Kotomine, head of the Church in Fuyuki City, informed the Clock Tower that Holy Grail was activating and the Fourth Holy Grail War would soon begin. Darnic made his move. He brazenly informed the Clock Tower that Yggdmillennia was separating from the Mage's Association and would take over all the Servant summonings, ensuring Yggdmillennia would win the war in the end. However, this caused the Holy Grail to alter the rules. Instead of a standard Holy Grail War, it would be a Great Holy Grail War that would pit the Servants of Black versus the Servants of Red. Once one side was eliminated, the remaining Servants and Masters would compete in a standard Holy Grail War until one pair was left to claim the Grail and the wish.

This was exactly what Darnic wanted, as he wished to prove that Yggdmillennia was superior to the Mage's Association. He, his family, and their maid, Toole, quickly moved from the Clock Tower in England to Fuyuki City in Japan, where the Holy Grail was located and the war would happen. They purchased a mansion in the woods and after settling in, began training and gathering catalysts for the summoning of their Servants. Normally, a Holy Grail War has seven Masters and seven Servants: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, Berserker, and Assassin, and this applies for both sides of a Great Holy Grail War. Realizing there were only six of them and that they might as well try to summon an Extra Class to maximize their chances of victory, they contacted a mercenary Magus named Kairi Sisigou and asked him to join them in the Black Faction, which he accepted, traveling from England to Japan. They then contacted a Japanese Magus named Hyouma Sagara and asked him to join them as well, and he accepted.

The Mage's Association was not idle. Eager to punish Darnic for his insubordination, they assigned one of their best teachers, Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, to fight in the war. Kayneth accepted, seeing the war as a chance to increase his own prominence in the Mage's Association. However, before he could depart to Fuyuki, his disgruntled student Waver Velvet stole his intended catalyst, the mantle of Alexander the Great, then departed to Japan to join the War, eager to prove Kayneth was wrong about him being mediocre.

Annoyed by this setback, Kayneth chose a different catalyst and traveled to Japan with his fiancée Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri, both to win the war and punish Waver. Although she did not love him as they had an arranged marriage, Sola-Ui agreed to assist him. Under the Mage's Association's instructions, Kayneth contacted the Tohsaka, Matou, and Einzbern families, the families that started the Holy Grail Wars in the first place, to inform them of the rule changes and ask them to unite as the Red Faction. Since traditional Magi shun technology, he contacted them via magical means.

Tokiomi Tohsaka accepted, informing Kayneth that he and his apprentice, Risei's son Kirei Kotomine, would join the Red Faction. After sending his wife Aoi and daughter Rin out of town for their own safety, Tokiomi and Kirei prepared to summon their Servants in his mansion. Tokiomi was confident that since Kirei had no passions or desires of his own, he would keep his promise to forfeit victory to him once they were the only two left, as Tokiomi also wanted the wish to reach the Root. However, because Kirei was so empty inside, he was secretly debating whether to keep his promise or to use the wish to find out why he was like that and how to fill the emptiness in his heart. Also, after Kirei researched their potential allies and enemies, he became interested in Kiritsugu Emiya, believing he may be as empty as himself.

Tokiomi used a fossil of the first shed snake skin as a catalyst, while Kirei used the very word "Assassin" as a catalyst, then they performed the summoning ritual. What emerged from Tokiomi's magic circle was a tall, handsome man with blond hair and red eyes wearing an elaborate suit of golden armor with a red cape. What emerged from Kirei's magic circle was a lanky man with pitch black skin wearing a black cloak and a white skull mask. Kirei marveled on how the blessings of the Grail gave Servants knowledge of the modern world and local language, so the Servants knew Japanese no matter where they were from.

"Assassin of Red has answered your summons. I ask you, are you my Master?"

Kirei took a deep breath.

"Yes I am. My name is Kirei Kotomine. Who are you?"

"I am the Old Man of the Mountain. I have long discarded my original name. Just call me Hassan-i-Sabbah, or Hassan of the Hundred Faces. Know that we Servants already know of the changes in the rules. I will faithfully serve the Red Faction until the Black Faction is defeated."

They turned to Tokiomi's Servant, who stood there glaring with his arms crossed. Tokiomi spoke up.

"I am Tokiomi Tohsaka, your Master. I know thanks to my catalyst you are Gilgamesh, the Archer of Red."

Gilgamesh scowled.

"Such impudence. I will make this clear. I am the King of Heroes and I bow to no one. You are never to address me as Servant and I will never address you as Master. Do you understand?"

Tokiomi nodded, then Gilgamesh continued.

"All treasures belong to me, this Holy Grail included. But I might as well demonstrate to the ignorant masses why I am the one true King. Unless you do something to displease me, I shall accept you Mongrels as my vassals, and I will crush the Black Faction. You, Assassin of Red, begone from my sight. I detest looking at ugly things like you."

Assassin of Red immediately went into Astral Form, disappearing. Gilgamesh turned to the others.

"You, Kotomine… are interesting. I will talk to you later. You, Tokiomi, until the other Servants are summoned and assembled, direct me to your wine cellar. I demand your most excellent vintage."

"Right away, my King."

As Tokiomi scrambled to accommodate Gilgamesh, Kirei apologized to his Servant for Gilgamesh's insult, while at the same time curious of Archer's comment to him. Assassin of Red shrugged it off.

"I have no feelings. I am just a tool for killing."

Kirei raised an eyebrow.

"It seems what father said about how a Servant summoned without a specific catalyst can fit the Master's personality is true. I don't seem to have feelings either. So, Hassan of the Hundred Faces, we have a few days to prepare. Since we're going to be partners, tell me about yourself..."

Zouken Matou accepted, desiring to both claim the wish and take his revenge on Darnic for his defeat sixty years ago. The old man informed Kayneth that he and his son Kariya would join the Red Faction. In his worm-infested basement, Zouken used the book Avesta: The Universal Revelation of Inscribed Creation, the same one used by the Einzberns in the previous Holy Grail War, as a catalyst. What emerged from the magic circle was a tanned, white-haired, scrawny young man in a loincloth, covered in tattoos and with bandages around his hands and feet. In each hand, he carried a pronged dagger that resembled a beast's claws. He cackled.

"I am Avenger of Red. Wow, you sure drew the short straw when you summoned me. I am good at killing humans, not Servants. In the last war, my previous Master didn't understand this, and I got killed quickly."

Zouken smiled.

"I know, I was there. I know who you are, Angra Mainyu. Rest assured that I have a plan to make full use of your talents. Kariya! What are you waiting for! It is your turn!"

Kariya grumbled and staggered forward. In truth, he did not want to be part of this war at all, but he had no choice. It all started several years ago. Zouken had two sons named Kariya and Byakuya. Zouken was abusive to them, but treated Byakuya worse because he did not inherit Magic Circuits, leaving him an ordinary human unable to perform Magecraft. One of the only things that gave Kariya hope was his childhood friend Aoi Zenjou, whom he was in love with. The Zenjou family had Magi, but Aoi was born without Magic Circuits, not that Kariya cared. Kariya eventually ran away from home, choosing to live on his own like an ordinary person and not develop his Magecraft skills, but leaving Byakuya, who did not have the courage to leave, behind to suffer. Even when Byakuya became a grown up, he still lived in the Matou mansion.

Kariya was devastated when Aoi chose to marry Tokiomi Tohsaka, but decided to try to be happy for her and he became an honorary uncle to their daughters Rin and Sakura. Meanwhile, Byakuya resigned himself to his fate as nothing but Zouken's errand boy, descended into drink, and had a son named Shinji, who also did not have Magic Circuits. When Shinji's mother died, Byakuya sent him at age seven to a boarding school overseas, a few months before the events of the Fourth Holy Grail War being declared happened. At around the same time, Tokiomi had a dilemma. By tradition, a Magus family is only supposed to have one heir because only one person can inherit the Magic Crest, a collection of transplantable Magic Circuits that holds the family's history of spells. Rin at age seven and Sakura at age six both had incredible potential.

Tokiomi found a solution when Zouken contacted him and revealed he did not have any adequate heirs. The Tohsaka and Matou families had been allies for generations and Zouken had been a family friend when Tokiomi was young. Eager to help his old friend, Tokiomi happily offered Sakura to be adopted by the Matou family. He managed to convince his family that this was for the best, as this way, both Rin and Sakura would be able to inherit a Magic Crest and grow up to reach their full potential as Magi. Tokiomi implanted his Magic Crest into Rin and began training her alongside Kirei, while Sakura officially became Byakuya's adopted daughter and Zouken promised to train her well.

Unfortunately, this was nothing but a lie. Zouken had no intention of training her. Instead, he regularly tortured Sakura by throwing her naked into his worm pit. The worms would painfully invade her body, adjusting her Magic Circuits and gradually making her more powerful, but more importantly, gradually making her a suitable new host body for him. As a side effect, Sakura's hair changed from the Tohsaka black to the Matou blue. Byakuya was apathetic to her suffering as he never really saw her as his daughter, and Sakura was cowed by her experiences and fear of Zouken. Without training, she could not use any spells to try to escape or resist. Some of the worms remained inside her body, meaning Zouken would always know where she was. She still went to school, but she was so afraid of Zouken that she avoided Rin and never told her what was happening. When school was out, she would head straight home and either sit around the house or submit to the worms.

When Kariya found out about Sakura's adoption from Aoi during one of his visits, he immediately realized what Zouken would do to her. But instead of doing the sensible thing of warning Tokiomi and Aoi of Sakura's fate, he entered his childhood home for the first time in years and tried to rescue her himself. Unfortunately, since Zouken was a Magus with centuries of experience and Kariya was completely out of practice, he was no match for Zouken. Zouken decided to spare his life when Kariya cut a deal. He knew that the Fourth Holy Grail War would begin soon, so if he helped Zouken get his wish, then Zouken would release Sakura.

Zouken accepted the deal, and to bring Kariya's power up to snuff, he subjected him to his worms as well. As Zouken was angry Kariya had abandoned the family, he intentionally had the worms chew up Kariya's insides to torture him. A number of worms remained inside his body, allowing Zouken to track him at all times and torture him at a whim. Byakuya did not have any words for the brother who left him behind, though he was slightly jealous that Zouken was at least spending time with him; without Magic Circuits, Zouken considered him useless, and subjecting Byakuya to the worms would have just killed him. After a few months, by the time Kayneth gave his offer to Zouken, Kariya's abilities had improved enough and he could generate enough Mana to support a Servant, but the damage to his body meant he would not have long to live. As a side effect, his blue hair had turned white and half of his face was messed up, forcing him to wear a hoodie to hide his face. He did not mind as long as he could save Sakura.

Kariya set his mind to the task at hand. He was glad that for now, Sakura was asleep in her room and Byakuya was off drinking and not there to bother him. Using a fragment of the Round Table that Zouken had recovered as a catalyst, he made his summoning. What emerged from the magic circle was a huge knight in a suit of pitch black armor with tassels coming from the back of the helmet and shoulders that almost reached the floor. His visor glowed red, preventing his eyes from being seen. A black mist formed around him, making seeing his details difficult, but the others could tell he carried no weapon. Kariya tried to look at his Servant's stats, but to his surprise, most of the stat sheet looked like it was blotted out. He was at least able to determine his Servant's Class.

"Greetings, Berserker of Red."

The Berserker nodded, but when he saw Avenger of Red, he roared and lunged at him.

"Oh shit!"

Avenger barely rolled out of the way, but Berserker rounded on him and chased him around the room, throwing punches that Avenger had to avoid. Avenger ran to the worm pit and turned at the last second, trying to trick Berserker into falling into it, but Berserker was agile enough to stop and turn just like he did. Berserker broke a table, then grabbed a leg and wielded it like a club. To everyone's amazement, the leg became surrounded by red lines that spread from his hands. They sensed that the ordinary wooden leg had become a Rank D Noble Phantasm. He swung it at Avenger, who barely blocked it with his daggers, but the force sent him flying. Kariya face palmed.

"Berserker has already lost control. I have no choice but to use this already."

He held up his hand, which had three red marks on it, called Command Spells. When one becomes a Master, they are branded with three Command Spells. These can be used up to give an order that the Servant must obey. Since they have a lot of Mana in them, using one will power the Servant up, or less commonly, one can be used to power the Master up. Since there are only three, they must be used wisely, especially since if a Servant dies, their Master can possibly re-enter the war if they can convince another Servant to join them, but only a Master with at least one Command Spell can make a new contract. It is also possible to transfer Command Spells from one person to another.

"Berserker of Red! By my Command Spell, work together with each member of the Red Faction until the Black Faction has been defeated!"

One of his Command Spells vanished, and Berserker stopped. He growled at Avenger, but put down the table leg and bowed to Kariya. Avenger flipped Berserker off.

"Screw you too!"

Zouken sarcastically clapped.

"I applaud your creativity with your command, but a real Magus would be able to control his Servant without wasting a Command Spell. Now, what have you learned about your Servant?"

When looking at a Servant and concentrating, a Master would see a sheet in the air listing their stats and abilities. Of course, this worked best for their own Servant, but the more one learned about a Servant, the more the sheet filled itself.

"I don't know his name, and I'm not going to waste a Command Spell just to force him to speak. However, I was able to learn some of his skills and Noble Phantasms. He has a skill called Eternal Arms Mastership, which lets him fight and move strategically despite his madness. His Noble Phantasms include For Someone's Glory, which is the black mist that conceals him and his stats. Were he not mad, he would be able to use it to create illusions, but right now, I would have to spend another Command Spell to use it that way. He also has Knight of Owner, which lets him turn anything he holds into a Rank D Noble Phantasm and automatically understand how to wield it."

Zouken rubbed his chin.

"Interesting. It seems you're not a failure after all. This Berserker will be useful for my final victory. Now, begone from my sight and go to sleep. The war will start in a few days and you must save your Mana."

"As you wish, Father. Come along, Berserker."

Kariya walked out of the room. Berserker followed and went into Astral Form. Avenger glared.

"I'll kill him for trying to attack me."

"Patience. My son is a fool, but we'll need them to succeed. Even with my genius, we cannot defeat all the other Servants and Masters by ourselves."

"Fine, but remember. I am Avenger. My grudges are never ending."

"Indeed. You will have your chance, but not before the Black Faction is defeated. Now, for my plan to increase your battle prowess. You will have to allow me to insert my worms into your body. They will give you extra Mana, which will make you more powerful, but I warn you, it will be extremely painful."

Zouken prepared to use a Command Spell in case Avenger decided to attack him, though he wasn't worried because he couldn't be killed by normal means. As long as a single worm remained, he could not die. Avenger sighed, then grinned.

"Pain is an old friend. If this plan can really give me a fighting chance, then I, Angra Mainyu, shall finally have my revenge."

Avenger made his daggers disappear, then stepped into the worm pit. Zouken smiled cruelly as the worms crawled up his legs and he started screaming.

Jubstacheit von Einzbern, the patriarch of the Einzbern family in Germany, accepted Kayneth's offer. The old man informed Kayneth that his daughter Irisviel had summoned Saber of Red and were traveling by plane to Fuyuki. In reality, this was a lie.

All of the Einzbern family were Homunculi, artificial beings created by Magecraft. This had started with the founder, Justeaze Lizrich von Einzbern. Back when Zouken was human, he, Justeaze, and the Tohsaka founder Nagato worked together to create the Holy Grail and the Holy Grail War system, intending to use it to wish for immortality. Justeaze was a seeker of the Third True Magic, Heaven's Feel, the ability to materialize souls into bodies. Giving the Holy Grail the ability to summon Heroic Spirits as Servants was an incomplete version of Heaven's Feel (with the complete Heaven's Feel, a materialized soul would be truly alive with no need for a Master). Sadly, Justeaze needed to sacrifice her life to complete the Grail.

Through the generations, the Einzberns reproduced by making more Homunculi, basically clones of themselves, as well as making less advanced versions as servants and staff. They spent all their time trying to rediscover the Third Magic. In each Grail War, they tried competing to use the wish to rediscover the Third Magic, but failed each time. In the Third War, one of them summoned Angra Mainyu as Avenger, but they were both killed. Jubstacheit decided they needed a different approach.

Roughly ten years ago, the Einzberns formed an alliance with Kiritsugu Emiya, the Magus Killer. He was a Magus who instead of aiming to reach the Root, used his modest Magecraft talents to become a mercenary and assassin. He was willing to use modern technology like firearms and the most ruthless tactics to get the job done. Though most Magi treated him with derision for this attitude, they could not deny his results, having slain many powerful Magi over the years. Kiritsugu agreed to be the Einzbern's champion during the eventual Holy Grail War, wanting to use the wish to end all war and conflict.

Kiritsugu married Irisviel and had a daughter named Illyasviel, nicknamed Illya, who was now eight years old. Raising the innocent child further motivated Kiritsugu to end war and conflict so that she could live without fear, and Irisviel agreed to help him.

Wanting to maximize their chances of victory, Kiritsugu was provided with Avalon, the scabbard of King Arthur, to use as a catalyst, as King Arthur was believed to be one of the most powerful Servants. However, after learning that the scabbard can heal its holder, Kiritsugu decided to conceal it during the summoning to keep it for himself.

One week before the war, Kiritsugu performed the summoning with Irisviel present. They were shocked when what emerged was a short, beautiful, blonde girl wearing a blue dress and armor and holding an invisible sword.

"Saber of Red has answered your summons. I ask you, are you my Master?"

Kiritsugu awkwardly confirmed it.

They spent the week getting to know her. They were surprised when she revealed she is Arturia Pendragon, the ruler of Camelot whom history recorded as a man to form the story of King Arthur. While she helped them prepare for their trip to Japan, she served as a playmate for Illya. Though she bonded with Illya and Irisviel, Kiritsugu considered her a disappointment. She believed in fighting fair and having honorable duels, and frowned on Kiritsugu's beliefs in getting the job done and killing the enemy as efficiently as possible no matter the method. He was dismissive of her and did not try to get to know her or even learn what her wish was.

Kiritsugu tested Avalon by cutting himself while holding it and found his wounds healed nearly instantly, but they healed faster the closer he was to Arturia. He came up with a plan. He secretly converted Avalon to spiritual form and inserted it into Irisviel's body. He told Irisviel to pretend to be Saber's Master while he dealt with their opponents from the shadows, knowing both Avalon and his Saber of Red would keep Irisviel safe. Arturia agreed, as she could not stand him and preferred Irisviel's company.

Once they were ready, they bid farewell to Illya. Arturia and Irisviel took a plane to Japan while Kiritsugu took a different one. They kept one last secret from Arturia. Since the vessel of the Holy Grail was destroyed in the previous war, Irisviel was designed to eventually become the new vessel, which would mean her death. She agreed as she fully supported Kiritsugu's dream and wanted a world where her daughter would always be safe and happy. Arturia was completely unaware that the war meant her friend was living on borrowed time.

Kayneth and Sola-Ui arrived in Fuyuki via plane. After booking the penthouse suite of the Hyatt Hotel and setting up a myriad of magical defenses, he prepared his summon. He had a plan to give himself a serious advantage. He made an adjustment to the ritual so that Sola-Ui would be his co-Master. While he would hold the Command Spells and be his Servant's anchor to this world, she would be the one to supply the Servant with Mana. That way, he would be able to perform at full power.

He was still miffed that his intended catalyst was stolen, so he made do with an old necklace from an archeological dig in Ireland. What emerged was a muscular, stunningly handsome man in a sleeveless green bodysuit with a beauty mark under his eye. To Kayneth's chagrin, Sola-Ui started looking smitten.

"Lancer of Red has answered your summons. I ask you, are you my Master?"

"I am Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, your Master. This is my fiancée, Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri. She is the source of your Mana, so you must protect both of us. Understood?"

"Yes, my lord."

Lancer of Red suddenly saw the necklace and picked it up, sighing in reminiscence.

"This once belonged to my lover, Gráinne. I would recognize it anywhere."

Kayneth glared at him.

"Then your true identity is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, also known as Diarmuid of the Love Spot, a man known for stealing his lord's fiancée."

The Lancer looked at Sola-Ui staring at him with affection, then nervously covered his beauty mark with his hand.

"Yes, that is my true name. Master, I have no wish on the Grail. I only wish to face the other Servants in honorable combat and to prove I can serve a lord without treachery to redeem myself for my betrayal of Fionn."

Kayneth roughly grabbed Sola-Ui's arm and dragged her away.

"When the war begins, we shall see what you are worth."

Waver Velvet traveled to Fuyuki and found refuge by hypnotizing an elderly couple named Glen and Martha Mackenzie who moved there from Australia. Making them think he was their grandson who returned from studying abroad from England, they allowed him to stay in their home.

When he was ready, he wandered into the woods and prepared the summoning circle using the mantle as a catalyst. He was amazed when what emerged was an extremely tall, muscular man with red hair and a beard in Greek-style armor and a furry red cape. He started laughing.

"I am Rider of Red! I am Iskandar, the King of Conquerors! Now that I have come back to life, I will conquer the world!"

Shocked and confused, Waver could only say one thing.

"What have I gotten myself into?"

The Mage's Association had something it did not consider. Tokiomi, Kirei, Zouken, Kariya, Irisviel, Kayneth, and Waver were accounted for, but the association had no way of knowing Zouken summoned an Extra Class, Avenger, instead of Caster, so that slot was still open.

The one destined to be Caster of Red's Master was Ryuunosuke Uryuu, a young man who worked as a manual laborer stocking shelves and unloading cargo in various Fuyuki stores. Uryuu had no knowledge of Magecraft or the Holy Grail War, but he was a descendant of Magi. Unfortunately, he is a depraved serial killer who regularly slaughters innocent families in his spare time. One day, he found a book in his parents' belongings that detailed the ritual for summoning Servants, but he misinterpreted it as a ritual to summon demons. Intrigued, he decided to try it.

One night, he broke into a family's house and killed them, except for a young boy whom he tied up and gagged. He used their blood and body parts to construct the summoning circle. He sadistically told the terrified boy that he was going to summon a demon and feed him to it.

He was confused when what emerged from the circle was a tall man with messy hair and fish eyes wearing a blue robe with a colorful collar.

"Caster of Red has answered your summons. I ask you, are you my Master?"

"Caster of Red? That's a weird name for a demon. Say, you wanna eat the kid?"

Uryuu was confused when his summon untied the child and said he could leave, screaming that he wanted the child in terror. The child joyously ran away, but the man suddenly pulled out a book made of human skin and chanted. A horrific tentacled monster appeared and grabbed the boy before tearing him to pieces and disappearing.

"Terror, in its truest sense, is not a static state but a dynamic one. It is the moment when hope turns to despair."

"Wow! That was so cool! I hit the jackpot with you, demon!"

"I am not a demon, boy. I am a Servant."

"Huh?"

"You don't know what the Holy Grail War is, do you?"

"Nope."

The Servant chuckled.

"I'll tell you about it. We have a lot of work ahead of us. You can call me Bluebeard."

Yggdmillennia arrived in an old mansion in Fuyuki, Darnic's old mansion from the previous war that had been untouched due to protective spells. After Toole cleaned it up, they prepared to summon their Servants. Darnic decided a home field advantage would be a sound strategy, since Servants receive a power up when in their native lands. Shortly after arriving in Fuyuki, he acquired a spear from the Ryuudou Temple, hoping with it as a catalyst, he would be able to summon a legendary spearman like Houzouin Inshun or Saitō Musashibō Benkei.

Gordes Musik Yggdmillennia was a portly 36-year-old man who specialized in alchemy and joined Yggdmillennia to try to restore his family's fading legacy. He was extremely arrogant, but had the same idea as Darnic. He acquired a katana from the Ryuudou Temple, hoping with it as a catalyst, he would be able to summon a legendary swordsman like Miyamoto Musashi or Sasaki Kojiro.

Fiore Forvedge Yggdmillenia was a 19-year old prodigy in Magecraft who specialized in spirit evocation and human engineering. Her legs were crippled and she was wheelchair bound. After it was judged that the only way to heal them would be to remove her Magic Circuits, all she wanted was to use the wish to heal her legs without having to give up her Magecraft. Her 18-year-old brother Caules Forvedge Yggdmillenia was considered mediocre in comparison and shunned as a result. Caules decided if they didn't appreciate him, he would shun their traditions as well. He gained an appreciation for modern technology (which most Magi avoid) and became good with computers. He still cared for his sister and remained close to her. He could not think of a wish, but decided that if he won, he would revive Fiore if she had been killed. He convinced his sister to try to use the same item as a catalyst for their summons, a light bulb. As a universal symbol of electricity, he hoped they would be able to summon Thomas Edison and his rival Nikola Tesla. He figured a relatively modern Servant would cost less Mana to maintain, which would be good for a mediocre Magus like him.

Celenike Icecolle Yggdmillennia was a 26-year-old sadistic master of the dark arts. She joined Yggdmillennia and the Grail War just for a chance to inflict suffering, but she had a secret dream. Ever since she was a child, she was fascinated with the story of Cinderella. She dreamed of averting her happily ever after and making Cinderella her slave. To that end, she had a set of glass slippers made and imported all the way from France. Since the most well known version of the story of Cinderella came from France, she hoped by using the slippers as a catalyst she could summon her as her Servant so she could have her way with her.

Roche Frain Yggdmillennia was a 13-year-old sheltered boy who did not care for people. He specialized in the creation of golems and only cared about them. Neglected by his parents, he joined Yggdmillennia only for research opportunities to improve his mastery of golems. As soon as he arrived in the mansion, he set up a workshop for golem production and wanted to wish to be the ultimate golem master. Having trouble deciding on a catalyst, he settled on a small statue of Archangel Michael he found in the garden, believing whatever it summoned might be interesting.

The two allies they had called in said they would be late, so they decided to perform the summonings together that night. However, despite their preparations and catalysts, there is something they forgot: we don't always get what we want. Summoning is not an exact science, so a twist of fate led to some people they never expected.

The six of them got in the mansion's main living room, created their summoning circles with the help of Toole (Fiore and Caules made their circles overlap), placed the catalysts inside them, and spoke the chant. Much to their surprise, what emerged from Darnic's circle was a beautiful Japanese woman with shoulder length hair wearing sandals, brown capri pants, a pink sleeveless top that slightly bared her midriff, and a denim jacket. What emerged from Gordes' circle was a beautiful, well endowed, and very tall Japanese woman with wavy, waist length hair wearing cowboy boots, denim jeans that were missing the left sleeve and exposed her left leg, a brown leather belt, a white t shirt that had a knot tied on the right side to expose her midriff, and a denim jacket that was missing the right sleeve and exposed her right arm. What emerged from Fiore's circle was a pretty Japanese woman with short brown hair wearing brown boots, black stockings, a short red skirt, a black jacket, and a white hat. What emerged from Caules' circle was a very beautiful Japanese woman with brown hair that extended to her lower back wearing high heels, stockings, and a modest green and yellow dress and scarf. Much to Celenike's delight, what emerged from her circle was a very beautiful caucasion woman with waist length blonde hair wearing a gorgeous blue gown and glass slippers on her feet. What emerged from Roche's circle was a lanky caucasian man with red hair and golden eyes wearing a simple red suit and brown shoes.

The Servants, not seeing each other yet, spoke simultaneously (except for Caules' Servant, who didn't say anything).

"Saber/Lancer/Archer/Rider/Caster of Black has answered your Summons. I ask you, are you my Master?"

The Servants were shocked to hear each other's voices and looked around. Fiore's Servant gave a double take.

"You have got to be kidding me. You guys?"

Caules' Servant roared in anger.

"Misaka!? Meltdowner!"

A few green orbs appeared near her and they fired energy beams at Fiore's Servant. Said Servant's body sparked with electricity and she grunted as she gestured with her hands and made the beams turn away from her. Everyone yelled in shock as the beams punched holes in the walls and they could all feel their incredible heat. Just as the Servants were about to attack Caules' Servant, Celenike's Servant charged forward at incredible speed, wrapped her arms around her, and spoke in a French accent.

"Mugino, stop!"

Much to their surprise, Mugino calmed down, patted her on the head, and hugged her, kissing her on the forehead.

"Cendrillon."

Fiore spoke up.

"You know each other?"

Fiore's Servant answered.

"Yes. I am Archer of Black, but you can call me Mikoto Misaka. The hostile one is Shizuri Mugino, one of my rivals. We usually call her Mugino."

Caules faced his Servant and gathered his courage. Learning his Servant's true name gave him access to her full stats and abilities, and he knew he had to be careful.

"Hello, Mugino. My name is Caules, your partner for this war. You are Berserker of Black, right?"

She frowned, but nodded.

"Well, if you can please cooperate with our fellow Servants and Masters until the Red Faction is defeated, we will be just fine."

Mugino continued frowning at him, but her gaze softened when she turned to Cendrillon and she nodded again. Celenike frowned and addressed her Servant.

"I am Celenike, your Master. Who is Mugino to you? Based on your attire, you can only be Cinderella. After all, Cendrillon is Cinderella in French."

"I don't mind sharing my identity because each of these Servants are my friends and already know me. Mugino and I were married to the same man, and despite this, we became very good friends. I am Rider of Black and my name is Cendrillon. I was a Magus who simply decided to emulate the story of Cinderella; I am not actually her."

Celenike almost lost her temper, but calmed down, telling herself it is better than nothing. Darnic used a spell to repair the holes in the walls, then spoke up.

"Since we are all teammates, let us all identify ourselves. I am Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia. Who are you, my Servant?"

"I am Lancer of Black. My name is Itsuwa."

"I am Gordes Musik Yggdmillennia. You are not what I expected. Who are you?"

"I am Saber of Black. My name is Kaori Kanzaki. I am happy to see you again, Itsuwa."

Kaori was stoic, but started to smile when she realized she was with her friends again.

"Likewise, Senpai."

Darnic rubbed his chin in thought.

"Fine, I will introduce myself once more, Cendrillon. I am Celenike Icecolle Yggdmillennia, your Master."

"Hello, I am Rider of Black."

"Uh, hello mister. I am Roche Frain Yggdmillennia."

"Greetings, Master. I am Caster of Black. I gave up my true name long ago. You may address me as Fiamma of the Right."

"So, Misaka and Mugino, right? I am Caules Forvedge Yggdmillennia and this is my sister Fiore."

Misaka shook both of their hands, then turned to Fiore.

"All of us Servants already know each other; we have fought and become friends in our original lives. For now, let us do something about you, Master."

"What do you mean?"

Misaka put her hands on the sides of Fiore's head.

"With your permission, I am about to perform delicate work on you. I have done this before. I am going to help you walk."

The humans were extremely shocked, then Fiore excitedly nodded.

"Yes! If you can."

"Very well. Hold still. This might hurt a little."

Misaka closed her eyes and concentrated. Fiore grunted as Misaka's hands unleashed an electric current through her body. Caules cried out his sister's name and tried to run to her, but Mugino grabbed his arm and held him back. Fiore sighed in relief as the current stopped.

"Fiore, how do you feel?"

"What did you do to me? Wait, what's this? My legs! I can feel my legs!"

"Good, now get up, Master."

Misaka held out her hand. Fiore grabbed it, then with a bit of effort stood up. She started to run in place, but collapsed and Misaka caught her.

"Be careful. I may have restored your mobility, but your leg muscles are still atrophied. You'll have to work them out to be able to move properly."

Fiore jumped up and started hugging her.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I didn't even need the Grail, you have granted my wish already!"

Caules hugged her.

"Sister, this is wonderful! Wait a minute, can you still use your Magecraft?"

She held up her hand and made a tiny ball of light.

"I can! But how? I thought it was impossible to heal me without destroying my Magic Circuits."

Misaka chuckled.

"In case you haven't noticed, electricity is my specialty. I made a bypass for the nerves in your legs so they can receive electrical signals from your brain."

None of the humans except for Caules understood what she said, but they took it in stride, then Darnic cleared his throat.

"Very impressive, though it vexes me that I have not heard of any of you. Your attire does not match any ancient civilization I have heard of. Can it be? Are you from the future?"

Itsuwa checked a globe in the room and spoke up.

"Partially correct, Master. We did die many years from now, but judging by how many of the cities are different from what I remember and how the knowledge of the Grail conveys many differences in Magecraft compared to what I am used to, we came from an alternate universe."

As the humans gasped, Kanzaki interrupted.

"It does not matter. All that matters is that we defeat the Red Faction and one of us gets the Holy Grail."

Gordes, eager to not get overshadowed by his own Servant, spoke up.

"Well said, Saber. Darnic, it is getting late. I propose we rest."

"I suppose you are right. Everybody, return to your rooms and bond with your Servants.'

Everybody agreed and left with their Servants. Fiore and Caules' rooms were next to each other, so they and their Servants walked together. Mugino barely tolerated Misaka, but could accept her for now. Fiore stood behind her own wheelchair and pushed it, both to stay balanced and to work her legs out. As they walked together, Roche turned to his Servant.

"Mr. Fiamma, do you know anything about making golems?"

"Not much, Master, but I can teach you many things. For now, I'll turn this mansion into a fortress."

Celenike led Cendrillon to her room, which was in the basement and looked like a dungeon and a torture chamber.

"Master, what is this?"

Celenike had an insane look on her face.

"If my understanding of your stat sheets is correct, then just like the real Cinderella, your powers do not work from midnight to sunrise, and midnight should roll. Just. About. NOW."

As the clock chimed midnight, Cendrillon's dress and glass slippers disappeared and she was now barefoot and wearing rags. Celenike was laughing.

"Perfect! We are going to play a game. You will be Cinderella and I will be both your step-sisters and your stepmother. Of course, we'll have a bit of artistic license."

She performed a spell, then some shackles on the wall came to life and ensnared Cendrillon's wrists. However, she grunted and shattered them.

"What!?"

"You have forgotten that I am not actually Cinderella. I am not here to play games, I am here to win the Holy Grail. Now Master, we will conduct ourselves with dignity."

"How dare you!? You are nothing but a mere familiar, yet you think you can tell me what to do!?"

She held up her hand.

"Rider of Black! By my Command Spell, do not ever resist me!"

One of her Command Spells disappeared, then Cendrillon groaned and fell to her knees.

"Much better."

Celenike performed her spell again and new shackles formed from the wall and attached to Cendrillon's wrists, then the chains retracted until she was pulled against the wall with her arms above her head. More shackles attached to her ankles and the chains retracted, pulling her legs apart. Celenike rubbed Cendrillon's face with her hand.

"I have heard that Servants do not need to sleep. Do not worry, I have learned how not to sleep either."

She tore apart Cendrillon's rags until she was naked, then licked her own lips after drinking in the sight of her body. She inserted two fingers into her pussy. Cendrillon gasped, but then glared at her. Celenike laughed and licked her cheek.

"You may be defiant now, but by the time I am through with you, you will cry and beg for my touch."

Cendrillon just kept glaring.

Kairi Sisigou arrived in Fuyuki that night. He was a rugged mountain of muscle in black leather with sunglasses and a scarred face. Similar to Kiritsugu Emiya, he was a Magus and a mercenary who preferred to use modern weapons like guns and grenades, so he needed liberal amounts of hypnosis to get the people in the plane and airports to ignore his weapons. He accepted an alliance with the Black Faction because he had a wish, though he kept it to himself.

He specialized in necromancy, so upon his arrival, he made his way to the graveyard and quickly found a crypt to hide in. After settling in, he decided to make his summoning. Out of curiosity for what he would get, he decided to use one of his pistols as the catalyst. What emerged from his magic circle was a Japanese man with messy, dyed blond hair wearing sneakers, jeans, a white t-shirt, a bulletproof vest, and a brown hoodie jacket.

"Assassin of Black has answered your summons. I ask you, are you my Master?"

"Yes I am. I mean no offense, but you are not what I expected. My name is Kairi Sisigou. Who are you?"

"You can call me Shiage Hamazura. I have a feeling that name doesn't mean much to you, but it is mine."

"Sorry, I do not recognize your name. But based on what I can see from your stat sheet, I am really lucky. We are going to do great things together."

"Ha. I can see you have a lot of weapons. If you know what I can do, then let me see them. If we are going to win, we'll need every possible advantage. Once I am done improving them, you rest and we will meet the rest of the Black Faction in the morning. Don't worry, I don't need to sleep and I am good at guarding too."

Kairi turned over his many weapons and watched Hamazura work.

"I can see why I summoned you. We really are compatible."

"Thank you. Let us get to know each other…"

Hyouma Sagara was a ruthless Magus living in Japan who was willing to do anything to get ahead. At the time he was invited to join the Black Faction, he was living one city away from Fuyuki in an apartment with a prostitute named Reika Rikudou. Reika was an ordinary human and he kept her in the dark about the supernatural. He didn't care about her, only using her as a bed warmer.

At some point, he had acquired the weapons supposedly used by the legendary murderer Jack the Ripper, which were a belt with holsters that held four large knives, two butcher knives, and a scalpel. That night, he decided to use the weapons as a catalyst to try to summon Jack the Ripper. To maximize his chances of success, he attempted to recreate one of Jack's murders. After paralyzing Reika with his powers, he stripped her naked and stabbed her in the gut with one of the knives. He then placed her and the knives on his magic circle and performed the summoning ritual.

Reika had no idea what was happening. Through the haze of pain, all she could think of was this.

Oh please! Someone! Anyone! SAVE ME!

Unable to speak, she screamed this over and over in her head. Then her fear slowly turned to rage.

Hyouma, you bastard! You made me believe that someone could care about someone like me. And now you go and do this!? You don't even care that I'm suffering! Someone, please come and send this asshole to Hell!

Under normal circumstances, the Grail would have responded to Hyouma's efforts and catalyst over a powerless person. However, in an infinitesimal chance, the Grail and the Servant responded to her pleas and anger. The Command Spells appeared on her hand instead of Hyouma's.

What emerged from the circle was a Japanese man with spiky hair wearing sneakers, jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black jacket with a hood.

"Avenger of Black has answered your summons. I ask- OH SHIT! MASTER!"

As soon as he looked down and saw what had happened to Reika, he immediately covered her with his jacket, not caring that it was getting soaked with blood, and looked around to find a way to staunch her bleeding, ignoring Hyouma. As soon as he touched her with his right hand, the paralysis effect ended. She started screaming and trying to sit up, but he had her bite down on his jacket's sleeve and told her to lie down and put pressure on her wounds. Hyouma was furious.

"Servant! How dare you ignore your Master!"

The Avenger glared at him.

"She is my Master."

He pointed out the Command Spells on her hand. Hyouma looked at his own hand and was shocked to find it empty. By this time, the Servant had scavenged the room and found a first aid kit and a lighter. He pocketed the lighter and took the first aid kit to Reika.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm saving my Master!"

"What! Don't be a fool! She has no powers; she cannot provide you with Mana! I can! I can prove myself a worthy Master. Just wait. All I have to do is get her Command Spells."

He prepared a spell and aimed it at Reika. As quick as lightning, Avenger grabbed his hand. To his shock, the spell fizzled out, then Avenger judo threw him across the room, knocking him out.

Avenger had a lot of experience with injuries. He quickly put an anesthetic and disinfectant salve on Reika's wounds. Telling her to hold on, he started stitching her wounds shut. Even with the anesthetic, it really hurt, but she was determined to survive. She didn't know who this stranger was, but she trusted him after seeing him knock Hyouma out. He finished stitching the wounds and added bandages. He then found her clothes and handed them to her.

"Get dressed."

She handed back his jacket and put her clothes on. He washed his jacket in the sink and put it back on.

"Thank you, but who are you and where did you come from?"

"My name is Touma Kamijou, but you can also call me Avenger of Black. Where I come from is a long story. Before I tell you, please tell me, what is your name, and how did you find yourself in this situation?"

"Oh, my name is Reika Rikudou. That man is Hyouma Sagara..."

She told him everything that had happened. In exchange, he told her all he knew about the Holy Grail War. After they explained everything and Reika was able to digest what she learned, she agreed to be his Master. She turned to the still unconscious Hyouma. She was still angry with him.

"What will we do with him?"

"I understand that you want revenge, Reika, but at least give him a chance to make himself useful. If we want to survive and even win, we need all the help we can get."

"Fine."

Touma helped Hyouma up and slapped him.

"Wake up."

He woke up.

"What is going on?"

"Listen up. I am Avenger of Black, Touma Kamijou. Reika Rikudou is my Master, but if you agree to help us, we will let you share the spoils of victory. Choose carefully."

"Wait. You're not my Servant? You are not Jack the Ripper?"

"No I am not."

"But that's impossible. I made the summoning and I used the Ripper's knives as the catalyst! The only one who could be summoned is Jack the Ripper!"

Touma held up the belt with the knives.

"Oh, is that what these are? They are gratefully accepted. We will need them."

He wrapped the belt around his waist.

"Listen up. Reika was in the summoning circle too. The summon was her silent pleas for help; the catalyst was her anger and desire for revenge on you. She may not be a Magus, but we are compatible. I am Avenger. I have the ability to get energy from negative emotions. She has hatred and anger within her like a bonfire, which I suspect is directed towards more than just you. I will have all the Mana I need. As Avenger, my grudges are never ending, but I am pragmatic. I will be willing to forgive you for harming my Master if you agree to help us, but you only have one chance. So, are you in?"

Hyoudou gritted his teeth, completely losing his temper.

I will not play second fiddle to a whore who isn't even a Magus!

"Damn you. DIE!"

He pointed his hand at Reika and tried to blast her. Touma immediately clamped his right hand over Hyoudou's mouth and lifted him into the air. The spell fizzled out. Shocked, Hyoudou tried to break free. None of his spells were working and he could not overpower Touma's hand. In desperation, he tried kicking Touma's shins, but the strength of an ordinary human cannot harm a Servant.

"You stupid asshole. Even if I was summoned as my younger, more naive self, I would have seen that coming. You wasted your chance, but you can still serve one last purpose."

Touma drew one of the knives with his left hand and stabbed him under the chin and into his brain, killing him instantly. As Reika gasped, Touma pulled the knife out and immediately drank the blood that poured out, making sure none of it reached the floor. Once he was done, he put the corpse down.

"Heh, at least he didn't shit himself."

"He tended to skip meals. Holy shit, that was disgusting. How did you drink all of that without getting bloated?"

"Servants turn whatever we eat into Mana and blood has a lot of it. I ate his soul too for an extra boost. I wasn't kidding when I said this asshole had a purpose. I shouldn't be in any danger of Mana deprivation for a few days. Now, get some sleep. We'll have a long day ahead of us tomorrow."

While Reika was a little shocked to learn of Hyouma's final fate, she didn't mind. She spoke in an uncertain, but seductive voice.

"Would you care to join me?"

Touma sighed. Though she was very attractive and it had been a long while since he had been with a woman, she wasn't one of the ones he loved and wanted to meet again.

"Sorry, no. Be warned that Masters tend to experience their Servant's memories when they dream."

She pouted, but accepted it.

"Understood. Good night, Touma."

"Good night, Reika."

As she went to sleep, she pondered his explanation of Servants and noted that she had never heard of anyone named Touma Kamijou, but decided she would worry about that tomorrow.

Author's Note:

Sorry about the lack of dialogue in Arturia's section. I wasn't sure how to do it.

According to the wiki, only the Servant who owns a Noble Phantasm or used it at least once in their original lifetime can use a Noble Phantasm and it is normally impossible for a Servant to give their Noble Phantasm to someone else. All cases where someone used someone else's Noble Phantasm had some kind of extraordinary circumstance. That will not be the case here. In this fic, anyone can use a Noble Phantasm as long as they have the owner's permission.

In this fic, if a Master doesn't know a Servant's True Name, they will only see their physical stats and whatever skills and Noble Phantasms they demonstrate. If a Master learns their own Servant's True Name, they automatically see a full stat sheet. If a Master learns a different Servant's True Name, they see their physical stats and skills, then whatever Noble Phantasms they demonstrate. I don't know how it works in canon, but that's how it will work here.

Since Servants are summoned in their physical prime, all of the A Certain Magical Index characters are in their late twenties instead of teenagers. Mikoto Misaka now resembles her mother, Misuzu Misaka, in height and looks and has boobs now. In case you didn't catch it from their descriptions, Mikoto and Mugino are wearing their outfits from the World War III arc. Touma is 170 cm tall instead of 168 cm tall and wears his outfit from the Magic God Othinus arc. Also remember that since they are Servants, they have lived their whole lives while only looking young.

Remember that the Kaleidoscope has infinite alternate universes, so this version of the characters is my interpretation of them. The A Certain Magical Index characters' backstories will be altered to how I wanted them. For example, according to the wiki, Touma was only 15 when the series started, but I prefer he was 17. That little detail that Touma has brain damage that prevents him from ever forming memories of Misaki Shokuhou, making it impossible for them to have a relationship, while tragic, makes absolutely no sense to me, so that is removed. Instead, Misaki was his girlfriend who broke up with him before the series started, then he forgot about her when his memories were erased by Index in the beginning, then they were eventually reacquainted and she became part of his harem. The Touma/Othinus pairing is one of my favorite ships. I seriously think Kazuma Kamachi dropped the ball when he sank that pairing; despite being mortal enemies during New Testament Vol 9, Touma and Othinus pretty much fell in love at the end. In Vol 10, they all but confessed their love for each other, but after Othinus was shrunk to 15cm tall, Touma goes back to being completely oblivious to girls, including her. If I was in charge, Othinus would not have shrunken and would have eloped with Touma, like in DSCrystalEyes' "The Smile of a Single Girl/OTP" series (damn, I wish that series hadn't been canceled). Touma would not be oblivious to girls and would date several like Index and Mikoto throughout the series. I would have had Queen Elizard, one of the few people who actually respected Touma for his heroics, knight Touma at some point.

During the New Testament, I would have had Touma, Accelerator, and Hamazura let everyone in their harems know about the Magic Side right away. Cendrillon would have eventually become part of Hamazura's harem, not Touma's, because of the chemistry between her and Mugino.

Touma, Accelerator, and Hamazura would have married everyone in their harems, barring a few exceptions like Oriana Thomson (I know she's hot, but she's messed up) and Ayu Mitsuari (I feel sorry for her, but she's just too hateful and crazy). Touma would marry Othinus (top wife), Mikoto Misaka (Mikoto would have also been married to Kuroko Shirai, after Kuroko got a lot of character development and stopped acting like a creep), Misaka 10032, Index Librorum Prohibitorum, Aisa Himegami, Kaori Kanzaki, Itsuwa, Hyouka Kazakiri, Seiri Fukiyose, Seria Kumokawa, Maria Kumokawa (after she got over Bersi because Bersi is a zombie), Orsola Aquinas, Agnese Sanctis, Sister Lucia, Sister Angeline, Lessar, Misaki Shokuhou, Sasha Kreutzev, Arisa Meigo, and Shutaura Sequenzia (they would have found a way to separate Arisa and Shutaura and give them their own bodies); and would adopt Febri, Janie, and Fräulein Kreutune. Accelerator would marry Misaka Worst (top wife), Awaki Musujime, Leivinia Birdway, Esther Rosenthal, Vento of the Front (a personal preference of mine even though they never interacted in canon because I liked the story "Clash of the Unlikely Lovers" by Hyakimaru), Kazari Uiharu, and Ruiko Saten (Uiharu would have been grateful for him saving her during the Battle Royale arc, and Saten is inseparable from Uiharu; Saten would also be married to Miho Jufuku); and would adopt Last Order and Umidori Kuroyoru. Hamazura would marry Rikou Takitsubo (top wife), Shizuri Mugino, Cendrillon, Stephanie Gorgeouspalace, The Girl in the Dress (Kaibi Gokusai), Saiai Kinuhata, and Umidori Kuroyoru (the latter two when they came of age, and it would have been hilarious because Accelerator would treat Saiai and Umidori as his daughters and get pissed off at Hamazura); and would adopt Fremea Seivelun. Although Komoe Tsukuyomi had a crush on Touma too, she would have gotten together with Stiyl Magnus.

Note that in A Certain Magical Index, Mana is toxic to an Esper, just like AIM (psychic energy) is toxic to a Magus. For the sake of Misaka and Mugino, let's just say that becoming a Servant has removed that weakness by giving them bodies compatible with Mana. Otherwise, being fed Fiore and Caules' Mana would have immediately made them bleed out of every orifice and then eventually keel over. Also, I have changed Cendrillon's powers from canon.

It is canon that Misaka wanted to develop her powers to cure people who were paralyzed from conditions like muscular dystrophy. She was able to cure herself when she was paralyzed by a drug. I'd say when she grew up and mastered her powers she was able to cure it in others.

Fiamma of the Right eventually made amends for the time he was a villain and that's why everyone is comfortable around him. Yes, I am well aware that since Roche is a golem fanatic, it would make more sense for him to summon the golem master Sherry Cromwell, like how in canon, he summoned the golem master Avicebron. I just really wanted to use Fiamma of the Right.

In this universe, Arturia died when she was around 35 to 40 rather than the canon 25. It makes more sense to me because by my understanding, Galahad was born during her reign, which started when she was 15, and unlike Mordred, his growth wasn't accelerated. If we're going with "Arturia was 25 when she died", then Galahad would have been at most ten when Camelot fell.

Since Reika's Servant is Touma Kamijou and not Jack the Ripper, she's not going to turn into a serial killer.

Sorry, but Sieg and the Homunculi are adapted out. Toole is a regular Magus. I am not one of those people who think Sieg sucks. I liked him, but the story is complicated enough. This war will not have a Ruler for similar reasons.

Kairi Sisigou will not have that sample of Hydra venom. I honestly don't know what to do with that and it would make the fights a bit too easy. Besides, this is an alternate universe.

I know Avenger is not a regular Class, but I wanted an even eight vs eight battle. I was planning to add more Servants like Shielder, Gunner, and Foreigner, but I couldn't think of who the extra Masters on each side would be. I got the idea for the Servant Class Tempter from the fic "Fate/Harem Antics", where kamenhero25 interpreted the canon Class FunnyVamp. The Servant Class Boxer appears in the video game Capsule Servant.

In canon, they say normally, Servants do not remember previous summonings, though they changed that rule in Fate/Grand Order. In this story and its eventual sequel, Servants can remember previous summonings. Think about it. If they couldn't, then that would mean even if a Servant won and got their wish, then that wouldn't accomplish anything since they wouldn't remember doing it.

The Red Faction's Servant's stats are the same as in canon except for Angra Mainyu. After Zouken is through with him, his Strength and Endurance will go up from E to D. By the way, I got the idea of Zouken using his worms to power a Servant up from ProfMorbius' story "Fate Parallel Fantasia", where Zouken used it on Rider Medusa. For all the Red Faction, there may be a few surprises in how they use their abilities. As for the Black Faction…

This basically means that even if she is blinded, she is almost impossible to sneak up on. She is at this level because its accuracy decreases with distance and she is inexperienced at sensing Mana.
Protection From Arrows: B. The ability to block or avoid projectiles. As a side effect of her Presence Detection, she can detect the presence of projectiles. This works best with metallic projectiles, but as long as they have a presence against electromagnetic waves, it will work.
Noble Phantasms:
Electromaster: Power of the Electric Princess. A. Anti-Army. Mikoto's extremely versatile Esper ability to control electromagnetism. This gives her several abilities. She can fire electricity, call down lightning strikes, control metallic objects with magnetism, turn iron sand into constructs like swords, hack electronic devices, and she can fly if she is in an area with a lot of water vapor. Mikoto is surrounded by an electromagnetic field that renders her completely immune to telepathy or mind control. Though as a Servant, she can still communicate telepathically with her Master. In addition, she is immune to electric attacks as she can absorb them to increase her power.
Railgun: Super Electromagnetic Cannon: C-A+. Anti-Fortress. An offshoot of Electromaster, this allows her to take any metal object and launch it at Mach 3. The larger the object, the farther it can go before burning up from friction. If used on a coin, it has a range of fifty meters. She can adjust the Railgun's strength to be less destructive and energy consuming.
Anti-Art Attachment: Ultimate Anti-Magic Suit: A+. Anti-Army. A powered suit that can fly and is armed with a variety of powerful weapons that can penetrate magical barriers and has anti-Divine properties. Using this puts a strain on Mikoto, so she can't use it for long periods of time.

If Mikoto was Caster or Rider, she would have another Noble Phantasm called Radio Noise: Misaka Network, which would allow her to summon her thousands of clones to assist her. She would as a last resort link with their minds to undergo the Level 6 Shift. I was planning to give her the skills Galvanism and Mana Burst: Lightning before I realized Electromaster makes them redundant.

Pumpkin Carriage: Royal Transportation. A. Anti-Unit. A magnificent carriage made from a pumpkin, pulled by six horses made from mice, with a coachman made from a cat, and footmen made from two lizards. It can make its way to its destination no matter the terrain.
Winner's Aura: A Princess' Dress. B. Anti-Unit (Self). Her blue dress, which enhances her beauty, grace, and charm. The dress greatly increases her Agility and Luck stats and gives her a charismatic aura.

When activated, an ethereal, bird-like red hand will emerge from his right shoulder. While he typically controls it with his right hand, the bird-like hand can automatically defend him from threats. If his right arm is lost, activating and controlling the Holy Right is more difficult, but not impossible. The Holy Right's feats including summoning the Sword of Michael (a flaming sword that is 40 km long), The Strike That Ends Everything It Touches (an attack that annihilates anything it touches without any destructive force), The Strike That Reaches Everything When Swung (an attack that can instantly hit a target), firing a beam of light, and letting Fiamma teleport anywhere along a horizontal plane. The Holy Right's becomes more powerful when used on a target with malice in their heart, but by the same token, it will become weaker against a target will little to no malice, and Fiamma must specifically designate a target an enemy. In addition, the Holy Right can only be used for short periods of time as the bird-like hand will eventually fade away in the air. However, if the Holy Right absorbs Imagine Breaker, it will become solid and longer lasting until Imagine Breaker is lost.
Star of Bethlehem: City of God's Message. EX. Anti-World. A 40 km across flying fortress shaped like a cross with a castle in the center. The surface has buildings of various aesthetics, railways, intercoms, and escape pods, resembling a city. The entire structure can alter itself and ascend up to 10 km. The fortress can fill the sky with Telesma (divine energy) and make it rain down on the world.

I'm not going to include Fiamma's ability to summon angels because it is too game-breaking and he needed a lot of outside help to do it. I'm also not going to include the John's Pen Remote Control, the device that allowed him to mind control Index and use her spells, because Index isn't here, so it would be pointless.

Noble Phantasms:
Meltdowner: Atomic Destruction. A+. Anti-Fortress. Mugino's Esper ability to convert electrons into a form of highly destructive energy resembling plasma or anti-matter. She can form constructs like shields and fire it as beams. Practically anything Meltdowner energy touches is vaporized by the intense heat. If a beam hits something refractive like the silicon cards Mugino carries, it will scatter, basically turning one beam into many. As a side effect, Mugino can also sense and manipulate, but not create, electricity, but by the same token, a person who can manipulate electricity can sense and manipulate Meltdowner energy. Mugino is not immune to Meltdowner energy, so if she is hit by it, she will be injured or destroyed.
Body Crystal: Crystalized Esper Essence. A. Anti-Unit (Self). A small container carrying small white chewable tablets. An Esper who consumes a tablet will experience a drastic increase in power. However, this will put a severe strain on their body and the body's systems will deteriorate with each use.

Mugino is summoned with her eye and arm intact because Servants are summoned in their physical prime and I plain did not want to include her artificial eye and arm.

Hamazura can masterfully ride cars, motorcycles, and even construction vehicles, so he can ride anything except dragons and other phantasmal beasts. If Hamazura was actually summoned as Rider, he would have access to many other vehicles and powered armors.
Personal Skills:
Battle Continuation: C. The ability to continue fighting after taking injuries. Hamazura was able to keep going after getting thoroughly beaten up by people like Touma, Mugino, and Accelerator, though his stamina has limits.
Disengage: B. The ability to escape from a battle. Hamazura is very good at escaping from life-threatening situations and superpowered opponents.
Double Summon: B. The ability to have traits from two Classes at once. He's considered both an Assassin and a Rider.
Eye of the Mind (True): B. A heightened ability to analyze the battlefield and opponents, honed through training and experience. After countless fights, Hamazura has a knack for seeing patterns in his opponents and using the terrain to his advantage.
Marksmanship: A. A skill at using firearms. Hamazura has incredible aim, as he was able to shoot three people while he was falling out of a helicopter.
Quick Draw: A. A skill at quick draw shooting. Hamazura is really good at this too.
Noble Phantasms:
Whatever Works: Everything is a Weapon. A. Anti-Unit. Similar in principle to Berserker of Red's Knight of Owner, this causes anything Hamazura holds that can be used as a weapon to be turned into a Rank E Noble Phantasm. If this is used on another Noble Phantasm, it will retain its original Rank. If he lets go, the effect will remain for roughly twenty seconds, but he can pass an item to another person and it will retain the effect until they let go. Unlike Knight of Owner, he does not gain knowledge on how to wield the item. This Noble Phantasm comes from Hamazura's knack for improvised weapons and stealing enemy weapons. By default, Hamazura starts out with his various weapons in life: handguns, including a lady's handgun he stole from The Girl in the Dress, assault rifles, shotguns, knives, and a collapsible baton.
Dragon Rider: HsSSV-01: A. Anti-Unit. A state of the art powered suit and motorcycle. The suit increases the user's strength, can help analyze situations, and can hack electronics. The motorcycle requires the suit to be used safely at top speeds. It is highly maneuverable and in life it had a top speed of 1050 kph/652.4398 mph. Now it is likely faster since it is more durable as a Noble Phantasm.

Avenger: A. Gains extra Mana when around people with negative emotions, especially if those emotions are directed towards him. Throughout his heroic career, Touma was hated and feared by the Magic Side and the Dark Side of Academy City. Then there was the time he became the enemy of the entire world to save Othinus.
Memory Correction: E. This skill causes the user to be unable to forget their tragedies, grudges, and failures, fueling their hatred and thirst for vengeance. Since Touma normally forgives his enemies and doesn't hold grudges, the effect is mild on him.
Self-Replenishment (Mana): E. A skill that lets the user gradually absorb a miniscule amount of Mana from the surroundings. It is at this level because Touma had no experience with this in life.

God Slayer: B. Gains a boost in stats when fighting an opponent with Divinity. Touma has fought and defeated several divine entities like Archangel Gabriel, various monsters from Norse Mythology summoned by Freyja, and a boss rush of apocalyptic beings summoned by Marian Slingeneyer like a Titan, Ocelot, Surtr, Abbadon, and Vishnu Avatara.
Guardian Knight: B-A. Gains a boost in stats when protecting others. Though he protects everyone equally, public perception of his heroics means he gets a bigger boost when protecting women.
Presence Detection: A-. The ability to detect others and local Mana sources. Although it is Rank A, it is very situational as it only activates in response to a supernatural attack. Touma can sense Mana, AIM, or Telesma in attacks, allowing him to react no matter how fast they are.
Uncrowned Martial Arts: _. An aura that makes people underestimate Touma and perceive all his stats as one Rank lower. If someone learns Touma's true name, the effect is not applied. Throughout his life, people other than the ones Touma personally saved or fought don't respect Touma or have never heard of him. One time, the President of the United States appeared on television to declare Touma a true hero, and people still did not respect him.
Noble Phantasms:
Imagine Breaker: All Illusions Are Broken. EX. Anti-Unit. Touma's right hand can nullify anything supernatural. Any person touched by it cannot use their special abilities. Any spell or construct of Mana, including beings not of flesh (when he punched Archangel Gabriel, Gabriel disintegrated), touched by it is destroyed unless it is very massive or continually fed Mana. It does not work on Reality Marbles or Bounded Fields unless he can touch the source of it, and it does not work on leylines. It can only destroy a Noble Phantasm if its wielder is not touching it, and it can only destroy a Servant if they have lost their connection with their Master. Imagine Breaker can interact with massive constructs of Mana as if they were solid. Imagine Breaker renders Touma completely immune to telepathy, mind control, alterations in reality, healing spells, and he cannot be teleported. However, Imagine Breaker does not work on Command Spells, so he can be teleported via them, and he can still communicate telepathically with his Master. Imagine Breaker is also what renders his Luck stat null and void; without it, his Luck would be C. If his right hand is severed, it can be seamlessly reattached or grow back if the hand is lost. There can be only one Imagine Breaker in the whole universe, so if a hand is stolen, it will disappear once the new hand regenerates.
Invisible Thing: Jaw of the Dragon King. EX. Anti-World. This can only be activated if Imagine Breaker is severed from Touma's body. A titanic, invisible eight-headed dragon will emerge from the stump and attack Touma's enemies. Its power is variable, but it was notably more powerful than Fiamma of the Right at his full power. It has a mind of its own, but Touma can usually control it with his willpower. The dragon will disappear once Imagine Breaker returns. If he was summoned as Berserker, Foreigner, Alter Ego, or Beast, he would be able to become one with the dragon and transform into one like in New Testament 22 Reverse.
Whatever Works: Everything is a Weapon. A. Anti-Unit. Similar in principle to Berserker of Red's Knight of Owner, this causes anything Touma holds that can be used as a weapon to be turned into a Rank E Noble Phantasm. If this is used on another Noble Phantasm, it will retain its original Rank. Touma has this Noble Phantasm because like Hamazura, he also has a knack for improvised weapons and stealing enemy weapons. Right now, he has used it to take possession of Jack the Ripper's knives.
Maria the Ripper: The Holy Mother of Dismemberment: D-B. Anti-Unit. A set of four serrated knives in sheaths, two butcher knives, and a scalpel hanging from a belt originally owned by Jack the Ripper. They contain a Rank B curse where if they stab a woman on a foggy night, then that woman will be instantly eviscerated. If these conditions are not met, they are mere Rank D knives. Of course, since Touma is not Jack the Ripper and has no idea about the knives' special power, he'll just use them as melee weapons.

Since Reika can't provide him with adequate Mana, only one dragon head will appear when Imagine Breaker is cut off. In the series, the Invisible Thing and the dragons are apparently separate things, but I decided to make them the same thing. I'll make Command Spells able to affect Touma and Touma and Mikoto able to communicate telepathically with their Masters even though in canon this would be impossible because it simplifies things. If Touma was in another Class, he would have Rank A Charisma, but Avengers don't usually have that because they are so angry. Also, since Touma is an Avenger, he'll be harder edged and more willing to kill.

When I was writing this, it was a toss-up between giving Touma Uncrowned Martial Arts or giving him Information Erasure, Jack the Ripper's skill that makes people completely forget what the user looks like after a while, which would also make sense for Touma since the public hardly ever acknowledges his deeds and doesn't know who he is. I also considered giving him both skills, but then I decided that would be overkill. Similarly, I considered giving him Mystery Slayer, but that plus God Slayer would be overkill and he had a lot of skills already.
