~Chapter 18~
Anna
I didn't know I could make a blade of fire. I knew the first thing I wanted to do was hit Elsa with it and that's precisely what I did. She went down so fast and easy it was laughable. Though the moment, I gutted Elsa a shrill scream rang in my head. It was my former self shouting in anguish. It was all I could do to silence her as I was the one in control, but sometimes she managed to slip through.
"You will pay for this!" She would tell me.
"I did you a favor."
Slipping out of Arendelle was easy. Nobody bothered me if they saw me. Though I still was careful just in case word got around that Anna was missing and she was seen going in a particular direction. Even after her death, Elsa's frigid storm remained which didn't add up in my mind.
"Rasmus?" I beckoned with my mind.
"What's wrong?" His voice sounded agitated.
"My sister is gone, by my own hand and yet her storm still holds."
"Then it seems reasonable to figure that she still draws breath, Siren."
"But I gutted her,"
"Enough!" He growled, "There is no time to fix your mistake. You have more important things to do In you, I've bestowed you with some power in addition to the fire. Use your voice to draw people in. The spell of your voice will keep them under your control and then blow the horn."
"Horn? I have no horn."
"It's still in Ahtohallan then. Find it, use it."
"Yes, master."
I climbed the hills on the outskirts of Arendelle overlooking the city and I felt a pain in my heart as I looked down upon it. She was fighting me. She didn't want me to leave.
"You are now my siren. Use this power to collect the souls of those who imprisoned me to free me."
His voice was a haunting warning in my head and yet, I felt obligated to obey.
"It will be done."
I began to weave through the trees outside Arendelle getting further and further away. The storm that Elsa conjured slowed me down, but not enough to stop me completely thanks to my powers of fire. Elsa really outdid herself with this storm. I crossed my arms hugging myself as I walked emitting all the heat I could stand from my power. I asked Rasmus to help me get to Ahtohallan quickly from here. With the fjord frozen over, I just needed fast legs to get me there, but Elsa's raging storm would make that difficult.
"Anna!" A voice called to me.
I heard the crunching of snow as I turned behind me to find that man of blonde hair wearing leather and a hooded fur cloak. He grabbed my arm spinning me toward him.
"Where you going?" He asked.
I could hear her voice inside my head screaming at him to get away. I still had access to her memories. This man called himself Kristoff and he was her fiance. This would be fun.
"I have to go. Find this horn to help stop Elsa's storm."
"Well great, how can I help?" He asked searching my eyes.
He had a reindeer, but not nearly fast enough for what I needed especially traveling in this storm.
"Kiss him," I heard Rasmus say.
I obeyed my master pressing my lips to his. The moment our skin made contact, I heard a sort of chanting in my head. Though it wasn't in my head, I was doing the chanting casting a spell over this man. A purple mist began to emit from my fingertips and surround Kristoff.
"This spell binds him to you forever as your pet." Rasmus told me.
Kristoff began grunting and shouting as the purple mist consumed him completely. Though before long, I couldn't hear a voice of a man anymore, but that of a beast growling fiercely. A paw of white fur came forth out of the purple mist followed by a head with two black beady eyes looking back at me.
"A polar bear?" I questioned Rasmus.
"What other creature can withstand these temperatures?" Rasmus replied, "That man doesn't know who he is in this form, but only obeys your command. He becomes a man for one hour before sunrise. He wanted to follow you, so this is his punishment."
She was screaming inside my head his name. Rasmus silenced her with a single word.
"Go forth, my Siren. Release me from my prison."
"It shall be done," I replied.
I glanced at the polar bear as he bowed his head and lowered his back for me to climb up. With this beast bent to my will, nobody would dare get in my way or I'd fry them to a crisp.
