Secret Crisis: Battleworld Chapter 3
Alone with her thoughts once again, Sara Lance sits in a chair wiping sweat off her forehead to self reflect. All she would see are memories between her and her family, The Legends. Echoes so to speak. One of her first initial fights with Ava. When they first initially lost after Kang finished forming Battleworld. Sara was hellbent of leading an all out full frontal assault on Kang and his army to get revenge. Blinded by her rage and loss over Mick, Nate and Peter.
She winced and shook her head trying get rid of that memory as she got up to walk away.
She then saw echoes of some of the team, one by one, leaving much to her grief and their own.
Sara kept try to fight off the memories, going to the kitchen part of this ship. She then saw where her initial binge drinking and eating began. Back when Ava did her best to be as supportive as she could. Back when Sara would down too bottles of beer on the regular just to start. From that moment on, the just stopped caring. Sara opened the fridge as she goes to pour the remaining beer down the drain.
She then heads back to her bedroom where the final fight between her and Ava happened as Sara then recalls the worst Echo of all. The moment where after everyone else had left, long after Ava stayed as long as she could, she couldn't any longer. This was when after the binging got so bad, it affected Ava as well since all she could do was just made Sara not feel so alone as she ate and drank with her. But one night after once again snacking constantly and drinking beer, Ava had enough as she had also put on weight as did Sara. She didn't find this healthy any more nor a problem solver. She could only wallow in self pity with her for so long and shrugging off the weight gain too. So they had a fight and Ava was the last one to leave, leaving Sara all alone inside the Waverider never to be heard from again up until today.
She flicks on the light in the bathroom running some cold water to splash on her face and wash clean. After wiping her face dry, Sara took a good long look in the mirror. She thought about what the ghost of Peter told her about taking the opportunity to have a second chance. To be finally free of her self imposed guilt. She then steps back a bit to get within full frame of the body mirror turning side to side, sucking in her larger gut and exhaling letting it all out as big as it got, lifting up her belly and letting it drop and jiggle. It all finally caught or to Sara with how much weight she put on throughout her body especially looking at her own depression through her rounded out face.
Sara then heads to where she kept something close and private from the others. Especially Ava. She opened a door that had remnants of the Iron Spider suit. She stared at the armor getting one final set of Echoed memories that haunted her so bad, she purposely hid it away. The day she wore the armor and when Peter died. When she had Cletus at her feet and wanted to kill him. But after Battleworld formed Sara convinced all the heroes to bad together leading the charge as she fixed up and wore the armor. But as it happened, they all lost again and Doctor Strange surrendered on behalf of all of them, forming the peace treaty that lead to where everyone is now. She lifted up the helmet and held it in her hands resting it on her head, closing her eyes.
"I'm so sorry Peter." she sobbed.
"I'm gonna make this right. For you and MJ. You wouldn't give up. But I did. Now it's time I finally fix that."
Sara puts the helmet down and goes to clean herself up. She showered, fixed her hair and goes to grab her White Canary suit.
She hesitates at first because it's been a VERY long time since she last wore it, but she didn't care.
Sara after struggling to put it on due to her weight gain, somehow managed to put on the tight leather suit on as she goes to see how it fits after all these years.
It was definitely...tight to say the least. Especially around her legs and hips to how it was on her arms to the corset. As if it was some miracle, she sucked it all in to get it on. Feeling a little victorious, she exhales and let's it out, causing everything to snap open and having her belly exposed.
"Baby steps Sara. Baby steps."
Just as she said that, her stomach growled.
"Maybe after a quick snack first."
New York, The Future, Time merged under the dome.
Annie-May Parker sits atop of a building where her dad used to. The death of her father weighed very heavily on her. Especially since he died in her arms. But she couldn't dwell on it anymore as she was supposed to meet with Mia Queen so she masks up and swings away.
"Queen? I'm on my way. Where did you want to meet up again?"
"The Mansion." said Mia.
"But it's been abandoned for years" said Annie-May
"Exactly. No one will know but us" said Mia.
"Fine."
Annie-May swings over to the old abandoned Mansion in Manhattan, entering through the window.
"Hellooooo?"
"Over here" said Mia from the shadows.
"You might coming out towards the light? Haven't seen you since...you know..."
"I know Annie. Since we lost again"
Mia steps forward showing how she's been for the past few years. A vibranium arm and Captain America's shield on her back.
"So how has training to use the frisbie been going?" Asked Annie-May
"Clint has been a huge help. Turns out archers are good with this thing too. Just been trying to step up since James died." Explained Mia.
"We lost a lot of good people that day." Added Annie-May.
"And I guess Thor and Bucky aren't the only ones with metal arms now." said Mia looking at the Vibranium arm.
"How's your old man?"
"Dad comes and goes. Giving me advice here and there with this shield and how to be a better archer. But he's not doing well either. Being the Spectre has kept him busy recently." said Mia.
"Alright so spill it. Why bring me here?" Asked Annie-May.
"We're gonna take back Battleworld and reverse all this. Hopefully bring your dad back too." Explained Mia.
Annie-May's eyes widnen with interest.
"How can you bring my dad back?" she asked.
"With Eddie's Symbiote. After the treaty, Kang took it away and kept it locked away in one of his vaults in his Fortress. But in order to even get inside, we're gonna need some muscle and rally everyone we can to take part bits and pieces." Explained Mia.
"I'm in!" said Annie-May.
"Thought you would." said Mia.
Two whooses and streaks of lightning arrive.
"So she's in?" Asked Bart.
"Yep" said Mia.
"Good. Guess we can tell dad now" said Nora.
"Not without us"
They all turned to see Spider-Man 2099 arrive on the scene.
"There's another part of the plan to this too. But one specific detail Peter-3 has kept from Barry. We're not just gonna need the other members of the Spider-verse, but we're gonna need to go beyond the Spider-verse." Explained Miguel.
