Chapter 2: Mysterious Find and Joining the Family
Ace woke up before dawn like it was clockwork, but went down stairs to check on his guest.
'I hope everything is going well for her.' Ace thought before seeing the girl still sleeping on the couch.
'Mom and dad are still sleeping so I should make breakfast.' Ace thought before going into the kitchen.
After getting the necessary stuff, he went to get started on making breakfast. He had made eggs, bacon, toast, and a special ramen dish his mother taught him recently. The smell of food seemed to wake up the guest and he smiled gently at the girl.
'So sleeping beauty wakes up from the smell of food.' He thought as he went to plate the food.
'What smells so good?' Was the first thought in the girl's head. She had blue eyes, shoulder length brown hair, and a fair skin color.
"Good morning. You had me worried when I found you last night." Ace said to her with a kind tone.
"Good morning too. I guess." She said like she was still waking up.
"I brought you to my home and my father was able to help you get better." He said and she nodded.
"I have to thank you both for helping me." She said.
"We just did what was right." He said with a shrug. Soon both his parents came down for breakfast and were surprised to see their son cook a meal on his own and their guest was up and eating. It was a quiet meal mostly, but something was going to happen.
"Thank you for helping me." The girl said to his parents.
"We did only the right thing to do." His father said while Ace had a smile.
"Did you find anything by me when you found me?" She asked. Ace was thinking about it and he nodded.
"I did. It's by the couch." He said and she was thankful.
"What is your name, dear?" His mother asked
"Kasumi Mitsumiko." Kasumi introduced herself.
"Ace Kamen." He said, shaking her hand.
"Call us mom and dad if you want." His father said with a grin which made her giggle.
Breakfast was good as they shared an info session. Kasumi was sitting on the couch after breakfast and was searching through her bag. She had everything that she thought was with her before. A pair of earrings, a necklace, a case of gems, and a laptop.
'Everything is still here.' She felt relieved with a small smile.
After taking a hot shower, he is wearing a black muscle shirt under a white shirt, dark blue jeans, white with red striped boots that are steel-toed. He put his necklace under his shirt and went to get his bag ready for school.
While Ace left the room, the renamon appeared in the room and went to the desk to see a notebook. It opened it seeing different drawings of different digimon, but more pages were getting turned.
'KitsuAngewomon and Cielamon. Two of the mythical mega level digimon for us renamon that is next to Sakuyamon.' She thought to herself before using a little breeze to turn the pages back to kyubichimon.
'Does he think a Renamon can go to their forms?' She wondered looking at the door of the room before vanishing out like the wind.
Ace came back in to get the same notebook that the wild Renamon was looking into. He stopped for a moment sensing something was just in his room.
'Something was here at my desk and was just here.' Ace thought, grabbing his notebook and leaving the room so he is ready for school.
Walking down the steps, Ace was slightly thinking about how they could help Kasumi fit in better. A stray thought of a certain card flew through his mind, but it went unnoticed for now.
'That dream I had was weird because it was about a Renamon and something about that one was familiar.' He thought.
"Hey kiddo, our morning spar will have to wait till after work and school in the afternoon unless you are tied up with something." Dad said as Ace nodded.
"That's fine. I was going to do my light exercises before class started." He said as his father agreed.
"Hey Kasumi-chan." Ace greeted her and she waved at him.
"What do you need, Ace?" She asked slightly confused.
"Would you like to be part of my family?" He asked her and time just froze on the spot.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"It wasn't fair to someone like you to live a life like you did, but you did with your head held high and that made you a hero. I have other friends, but they are heroes too and they saved the world. Maybe I found you last night so you can have a break and have some good luck for a change." He explained and she felt like if Ace was a leader, then she would follow him with trust and believe in victory.
"I appreciate the offer, but I can't do that to you and your parents." Kasumi said not wanting to intrude in a family's life.
"You aren't and we will be happy for you to join our family. It sounds like you need some good karma." Ace's father said in a kind looking at her with a kind smile.
"We would love to have you in our family as it would mean I have help with these two. Especially the bigger child when that side of him appears." His mother said looking at the father who hanged his head.
"Just let me check at work to see if any info on you is hanging around and it would make this easier. Though with last night, sochi, you will have to step up and take the family heirloom." His father as both Ace and Kasumi nodded.
"We can do it tonight before we go to bed. However Kasumi-dear, you need to think about tonight while sochi-kun is at school." The mother explained and the future Kamen nodded her head.
With that said, Ace went ahead to get to school and to his workout. Soon he stopped as he was getting a feeling of being watched before shrugging it off and on his way to school.
"Is there anything you want me to do?, Kaa-chan?" Kasumi asked her future mother.
"Oh, you are such a sweetheart, just help around the house, dear. It would be nice to have help for a while." She said and Kasumi nodded before going into the kitchen and starting there.
After he left, mom was sitting next to dad and they had serious looks on their face.
"The Renamon from when his necklace magically appeared as it was on the roof." She said while dad nodded.
"Seems like something will happen and our son will be at the center of it." He said.
"Hopefully, he will find a partner and a cute girlfriend that really loves him." She said and dad chuckled.
"Ace has that Rika girl who has a crush on him, but won't say anything due to her pride." He said and she sighed.
"Sochi will bring her to his side with time and care. Maybe he will get two girls to fill his heart with much needed love." She said as he chuckled.
"I worry for our son now that you said that." He said and she pouted.
She whacked him on the head with a rolling pin and a sweet smile that meant pain. Dad rubbed his head before finishing his breakfast and leaving for work.
"I'm going to work and see about getting our partners back so we can help train our little sochi-kun." He said and she nodded before he left for work.
Ace felt something watching him like how Renamon was watching him yesterday when he saved Rika from the bully. He is about halfway from the school and he shrugged the feeling off, but the feeling stayed in the back of his mind.
'Judging by the feel of it, I have to say something or someone is following me, but from a distance so it might be a digimon.' He thought as he jumped over the closed gates of the school and he went to the running track again.
Looking around, seeing that he is truly alone since NO ONE would come to the school this early. He went to the locker room with a spare key from the gym coach so he could do some more solo training. He changed into a white muscle shirt, black gym shorts, and a pair of red striped running shoes. School started at 8:30AM which gave him 3 hours to do his light training before he had to freshen up. Setting his necklace in his bag, which was in his locker before setting a few traps in case someone wanted to take it. The traps aren't harmless persay, but one student would get stupid or 'brave' to open his locker only to get a hit to their forehead from a bb pellet or sharp poke in their gut.
"50 laps before working on my other training." He said dropping to his running stance and shot off like a bullet.
Three hours flew by as he was leaving the locker room while his body was clean and his hair slightly damp. He disabled the traps, but left them there so they could be set up again. He changed into his choice of a school uniform to save his other set of clothes for later. Walking to his school locker, he noticed Rika came to school early and walked to her locker.
"Did your morning routine already again, Ace?" Rika asked as he nodded.
"Yeah, dad had to leave for work so I had to leave early so I could train. I had three hours to kill and it was time well spent." He said and she nodded in return.
"How are you and Renamon?" Ace asked.
"Pretty good though Renamon is trying to figure out how you found her." She said and he smiled.
"One of my secrets, but I have been feeling like someone or something is watching me." He said and she looked at him.
"Might be a digimon looking for a tamer." She said and he gave a slight nod.
"Thought of that, but they are staying at a distance away from me so I can't pinpoint it." He said and she nodded.
"Renamon is close by to the school, but some feet away and she knows that you will take care of the bully." She said and Ace chuckled.
"When we are alone, you are not the ice queen as you seem to be and I'm still the badass." He said and she shook her head.
"And you call me prideful." She said with a smirk.
"How long has it been since the D-reaper event?" He asked and she looked at him with a slightly confused look.
"It has been a few months since then, but 3 months since the tamers got their partners back." She said and he nodded happily to see her smile again.
"Our birthdays are close like a month or only a few weeks between them, but I'm older than you by a week." She said smirking at him and he sighed, but he returned the smile.
During the three hours he was training, he was watched by the wild renamon and students started to walk in the halls of the school. They got their books and switched to the ice queen and the dark genius personas.
They went to their class like other students did the same while Takato who was drawing Guilmon's digivolved forms in a notepad with his rookie form. Rika took the seat in front of him and Henry on his left side. Jeri was on the other side of Takato as Kazu and Kenta were sitting on the far side of the classroom away from them. Their teacher came into the classroom so the lesson started.
Being the dark genius as he was called, Ace had two notebooks, one for notes as he wrote down the problem and solved it within five minutes. The other one is for drawings of a knight like digimon and a renamon like Rika's partner, but with differences. If he turned the pages one would find a drawing of a foxy angel digimon and another one of a foxy maiden with perfect details from his dreams. Ace was called on to answer the problem on the board as Kazu tries to bait him, which backfires. When Ace gets the right answer, making Rika smirk on the inside. While this was going on, the Renamon that was following Ace landed in a tree at the same level with his class room and she was looking in to find him and noticed him writing something with a strange bored look. She noticed that he turned his head and said something before going back to writing, but he would stare at the window for about a few minutes when the teacher wasn't looking.
Ace had drawn Rika as a red renamon with fire red diamonds around her next to her Renamon and her human form, Takato was a Guilmon next to his human form and his Guilmon, Henry was a blue Terriermon next to his partner and human form, and Jeri was a Leomon next to her partner and human form. Ryo was a Cyberdramon between his human form and partner, Alice was a Dobermon between her human form and partner, Kazu was a Numemon between his human form and partner, Kenta was a neon orange Marineangemon between his human form and partner, Mako and Ai were both Impmon next to their partner and human forms.
'He works hard in his training before he is in that room and looks to be learning.' She thought.
Pulling out the digivice, she had before making it glow and had it vanish in a small flash of light.
'We'll see if he can read the band and prove his soul to me.' She thought about going to the spot where the digivice was teleported too.
Classes ended and students went to their lockers before heading to their next class. Ace made sure he got everything in his bag before walking straight to his next class without needing to stop at his locker.
'Seems like a lot is happening today.' Ace thought while noticing Rika as walking with him to their next class. He looked over to Rika and was still wearing her hair with a ponytail making her head look like a pineapple head, but her hair did grow a little bit longer.
The school has a uniform for the students to wear, but doesn't really enforce it, but both Ace and Rika are some of the students that wear it. Rika is wearing a sunset yellow and purple of the girl's uniform shirt while Ace is wearing his black uniform with white trim. Since the d-reaper incident, she had bloomed into a teen with large C-cups with a firm ass not that ace was looking since he was a gentleman. She seems to be still in bloom, but time will tell if she grows anymore. She is wearing a long skirt hiding a pair of pants with the same color yellow underneath so it's like a way to trick the perverts who would be looking at her.
"Were you drawing again?" She asked him and he nodded.
"Yeah, I had some dreams with these two fox style digimon that had human qualities to them and they look related to Sakuyamon, but one was more of an angel and the other possibly a maiden. I don't know, but they are digimon and ones I haven't seen before." He said and she nodded.
"Renamon told me that a digimon was around the school, but vanished. Weird thing is that it seems to be watching someone." She said and he stopped mid step.
"I think that digimon might have been watching me." He said and she looked at him concerned though she didn't show it.
"What do you mean, Ace?" She asked.
"Until recently I have been getting the feeling like I was being watched." He said.
"How recently?" She asked.
"Maybe since yesterday." He said and she nodded.
They walked to their next class before they had lunch with their friends and Ace was thinking about the digimon following him. He went back to drawing in his notebook waiting to be called on after working on the problem. There have been some students that are nice to Ace, but not enough to be called friends. There were other students that bullied him, but learned Ace isn't one to take crap from them and he pinned them to the floor or the wall.
The principal let Ace pin the bullies as they are the ones who start trouble and Ace ends it. Soon the bell rang, meaning the end of class and time for lunch for the students, but some of them sent a silent prayer of relief. Ace was walking with Rika, Takato, Henry, and Jeri to the cafeteria for lunch.
"Kazu is a pain in the ass and it seems he hasn't matured even after the d-reaper." Ace said and Rika nodded with a smirk.
"But you did try to help during the incident so we did give you a spot as an honorary tamer even though you don't have a partner yet." Takato said and Ace nodded with a small smile.
"At least Takato has Jeri and they have been dating for a few months after that mess plus she still has her Leomon." Ace said as said two blushed red and there was a grumble they heard behind them from Kazu.
"At least you stopped him from teasing you for being not a real tamer by taking care of those bullies." Jeri said as Ace got a smirk and turned his head to see Kazu slightly trembling when he saw the dangerous glint in Ace's eye.
"Stop scaring the idiot though he kind of deserves it." Rika said and Ace turned his head with a nod.
They made it to the cafeteria and got their lunch before going to sit at their table which is in a corner away from the center of the room. Ace opened his notebook to the pages of the knight digimon and the two fox style female digimon before drawing a renamon under the maiden and another renamon under the angel. He had drawn a gatomon next to the second renamon under the angel before flipping to a switch to the knight digimon and below it are two detailed drawings of Omnimon and Imperialdramon Paladin mode underneath it. He labelled the fused knight digimon Paladinmon before closing it and looking over his notes for his class. The tamers came up and sat with him after getting their food. Rika sits on his left and Jeri sits on his right with Takato by her while Henry, Kazu, and Kenta are sitting across from them.
"What do you think of the homework, Ace?" Henry asked.
"Should be simple if I can do it within 5 minutes, but it takes longer for someone like Kazu and Takato is smarter than him." He said.
Kazu grumbled before they started to eat their food and Ace thought on some things while he was eating his lunch. Ace finished his lunch in ten minutes, but he enjoyed his company even with Kazu and Kenta.
"Are you really going to start something with me right now when you could be eating your lunch?" Ace said not looking behind him as the main bully that has been persistent in making trouble for Ace standing behind him.
"Because I'm going to make you beg for mercy." He said as Ace smiled before chuckling while he stood up.
"Really. Well that is interesting because that won't happen considering how easy I can kick your ass just within a few moves." Ace said and the bully was growling.
He sensed something before doing a jump spin kick knocking back an orb of energy back to where it was fired from making a small digimon appear next to the bully. It looked like a Thundermon and Ace smirked at the attempt.
"Really? You had a digimon to help you ambush me. Wow you just became even more pathetic." Ace said, pissing off the bully and the digimon. The Thundermon charged at Ace who looked at it with a bored look before using a crescent moon axe kick to delete the digimon with half of his power.
"If you send another digimon to attack me or Rika, I will not hold back in kicking your ass." Ace said with a dark tone before pinning the bully to the floor with his hands behind his back.
"So Ace stopped another fight even if he was the target, hmm." A voice said and the voice belonged to the principal with his lunch in hand.
"You will be coming with me, young man." He said to the bully as Ace let him go and help him up before they left for the office.
"I don't understand how he let you do that and not get in trouble." Kazu said to Ace who was drinking a bottle of tea.
"Black belt martial artist and still being trained by my dad. I take all of the bullies who are bullying other students and show them that I won't take any BS from them if I become their target before giving them to the principal." Ace said finishing his tea and putting the trash and tray away.
Soon the bell rang to end lunch and they walked to their next class, but with each class getting closer to the end of the day then they could go home. He did the same as before in his first two classes, but he kept making notes to stay ahead of the class. He added some color to his drawings and added a renamon next to his human form with him as a renamon, but he hasn't colored it yet. Time flew by and the final bell rang so all of the students were gathering their things before walking home with friends.
"Have to head home so I can train with dad and get stronger. Also have Kasumi-nee-chan as a sister. Rika would like her as they could be the same somewhat in their personality." He said to himself while walking down the steps of the school.
"Ace, wait up." Rika called out as she came out walking to him and her renamon appeared between them.
"What is it, Rika?" He asked, confused.
"I was thinking that you could walk me home after all there could be another digimon attack." She said and he chuckled.
"You have a strong Renamon with you so I don't think I will be needed all that much." He said and Renamon smirked at the compliment.
"Alright, I'll walk you two home. I feel like taking the scenic route through the park though." He sighed with a smile, but decided to give her what she wanted.
When they got to the park, Ace stopped and the renamon was sensing a digimon. Rika looked at them with slight concern, but knew both of them were strong.
"That feeling is back." Ace said, slowly getting annoyed by that getting watched feeling.
"There is a digimon here, but no field or fog around it." Renamon said as she shifted into her attack stance.
"Hmm?" Ace hummed looking down at his necklace seeing it giving off a soft glow of light blue coloring.
"Never seen it do that before, but I think I know what it means." Ace said running off into the park with Rika and Renamon running after him.
They were getting close to the center of the park, but the glow was getting stronger like a guide beacon.
"Ace, wait up." Rika called out to him.
He stopped at the top of a grassy hill overlooking the whole park and saw something glinting in the setting sun. Both digimon and tamer stopped close to him and noticed he was walking down the hill, but they were about to follow him.
"You can follow me, but at a distance. This digimon might be my future partner." He said with a serious tone and they nodded letting him walk down the hill.
'I'll be happy to see Ace finally getting a partner so he can have his place in our group.' Rika thought as her renamon agreed through their mental link.
They followed him while keeping 10ft away from him and his necklace stopped glowing when he got to the center of the park. Looking around, the feeling didn't go away and he looked at the ground noticing something. It is a D-ark like Rika's and the others, but silver with a red strap, a gold band with something engraved in it, and the buttons were white.
'A digivice laying around here and no one took it? Either this is for me or this is a damn trap.' Ace thought holding the digivice.
"Found something?" Rika called out, shaking him from his thoughts.
"Yep." He said before his necklace glowed yellow and green.
"This again?" he asked himself looking at his necklace.
"So you found my digivice, young tamer?" A voice asked, sounding like a female.
"Tamer? I'm no tamer." Ace said, looking around.
"Not yet, but your necklace led you to my digivice so you must be a future tamer with one of the warriors that defeated the d-reaper." It said.
"Are you a digimon? Were you the one following me?" Ace asked.
"Yes to both because you interest me." It said.
"Why?" He asked.
"I'm looking for the soul of the white knight and a child made a certain wish." It said and that shocked Ace to the core.
"What wish?" Rika asked as they walked closer to him.
"Something I wished for when I was a little kid and I didn't know if it would come true." Ace said with a shaky voice.
"But what is the soul of the White Knight you speak of?" Rika's Renamon asked.
"Unfortunately, I don't know and I have been looking for the bearer of the soul and the young tamer here is the best possible choice." It explained.
"Who granted my wish?" Ace asked.
"As far as I was told, it was the ancestors of us digimon, the digi-gnomes." It said.
"I will be testing you to see if you are fit to be my tamer." It said.
"How?" Ace asked.
"I'll let you know." It said before there was silence.
"The digimon left." Renamon said and they nodded.
"Ace?" Rika called out to him as he was staring at the digivice.
The screen flashed before text came up and it said: "Read the digi-code on the band. That is your first test."
'Read the digi-code?' Ace thought to himself.
"Hmm?" Ace asked faintly, hearing her.
"Something wrong?" she asked and he shook his head.
"No." he said before going back to trying to read the digicode.
After a few minutes, he started to speak in a dead language and his eyes started to glow white. His voice was quiet at first, but it grew louder a little at a time. By the time he was done talking, his voice was close to a talking shout or yell. He shook his head to clear his mind like he was just walking up and the screen flashed again making the text go away.
"What was that?" Rika asked.
"I don't know. It felt like I was in a trance, but it looked to be something I thought about last night and something of a legend." He said clipping the D-ark on his belt next to his deck of cards he made for a digimon partner in it's black deck case.
"Well you are the one I'm looking for since you were able to read the legend and destiny of the white knight." A voice said as a Renamon walked out looking like Rika's Renamon.
"I had to be sure and you kept the crystal fox I made for you when you were a toddler." It said and it had the same voice as before.
"I don't remember meeting you, but I know you are telling the truth." He said.
"Why do you look like my renamon?" Rika asked.
"We could be sisters, but I don't know how. I know I am different from her since my eyes are a rose pink, my arm gauntlets are a darker shade of purple, and I don't have a digivolution line like her." She said.
"You have passed a test, but you have to earn my trust before I call you my tamer."
"That should be easy, Rena-chan." Ace said with a smile and the Renamon faintly blushed at the nickname.
"We'll see about that Ace-kun." She said before vanishing like the wind.
It was quiet as the three left the park and walked to Rika's home.
"Well, that was fun." He said and Rika gave him a deadpanned look.
"Weird is more like it." She said.
"I already have a plan to gain her trust, but I won't say what it is." He said.
"Why? We can help you." Rika said
"Thanks, but I feel like I have to do it alone." Ace said and she nodded.
"Ok, but let us know if you need help." She said and he nodded.
"Yep." He said before kissing Rika on the cheek, getting a slap on the shoulder and her head turning away with a blush.
"So how is your magic coming along?" Her Renamon asked.
"Well enough, but training to use them is a pain. Though with each use it gets easier." He said before something came into his range of senses.
"Not that renamon, but another digimon from that punk." He said looking around for any sign of the digimon.
"Over there pineapple head." He said with a smirk seeing a half-hearted glare from her pointing to where he sensed the attacking digimon.
"Rena-chan is watching us from a high point." He added before deflecting a blast of fire from the attacking digimon which is a meramon with a kick.
'So he is able to sense digimon like one, but also deflect attacks.' Rena thought amused.
"How did he have a champion level when most students had rookies and actually trained with them like normal tamers?" Rika asked rhetorically.
"I'm trying to figure out how he has more than one digimon." Ace said.
"Renamon, time for action." Rika said and her partner nodded.
"Digi-Modify: Digivolution Activate." Rika said using a blue card.
"Renamon digivolve to…" She called out as her form was changing.
"Kyubimon." Kyubimon said as the next level for renamon appeared.
'Renamon and kyubimon mix for a champion level. Hmm, something I can work with for rena-chan.' Ace thought to himself.
"Can you two keep him busy for a few minutes?" Ace asked.
"Why? Do you have a plan?" Rika asked as kyubimon used her dragon wheel on him and it did some damage.
"Something like that. One of the spells I was making is a transport/transform spell with some gear I have in my room in the closet." He said crouching and started to chant something.
"Is this gear the same kind you got from your old martial arts master when you completed your lessons back then?" Rika asked and Ace nodded, not stopping his chant before his body was glowing white.
'What is he up to?' Rena-chan thought with an raised eyebrow.
Ace's body is glowing a bright white while his head was zoomed in as a white headband with dark blue trim and a yin-yang symbol with a red frame appeared on his head. His upper body and arms were next, but his shirt changed to a black sleeveless gi with red-orange flames and black arm guards that were made rough to stop attacks. His jeans changed into black pants like the gi with ice-blue flames. A martial artist's champ belt appeared as it tied his pants to the gi. Like the arm guards, the leg guards are a gun-metal silver with wings. His shoes changed to black steel-toed combat boots. His body zoomed out before showing his back and a sheathed sword appeared strapped to his back.
"Wow." Rika said, looking at him before turning back to the fight with a blush.
'I can feel the power coming off him now, but was he holding back while he was in the building?' Rena-chan thought while Ace was walking next to Kyubimon.
'I will prove myself.' Ace thought as his left hand gripped the hilt of his sword. Rika saw his back and the back of his gi one had a picture of a red dragon soaring through the sky and clouds while a white fox was sleeping with two kits by it under a cherry blossom tree.
"Changing your clothes won't matter if you burn to ash." The meramon said firing a large fireball at him, but Ace slashed through it like it was nothing with his sword. The sword looks simple, but has a yin-yang guard and a fox tail tied to the pommel. The hilt was double diamond wrapped with white and gray cloth. The blade of the sword is metallic silver, but made with the best materials to give it that shine, silver color, and sharp edge.
"Nice try." He said resting his sword on his shoulder.
"Kyubimon, mind using your foxfire on my sword?" He asked, holding it out.
"Sure, but why?" Kyubimon asked.
"Need some blue flames to freeze him." He said and she nodded before jumping back.
"Foxtail Inferno." She called out launching nine small blue fireballs at the blade of his sword engulfing it in the flames.
"Frost converter." He said waving his hand along the blade making the blue flames turned into the blue ice with small snowflakes emitting from the blade.
Kyubimon jumped into air before reverting back to renamon and crossing her arms for her signature attack. Ace charged at Meramon with his sword nearly touching the ground while Renamon was still charging her attack so she could take it out. He started to move around the meramon striking it in different spots freezing him so it can't melt the ice that easily.
"Now Renamon." Rika called out as Ace was jumping back next to her and sheathing his sword making the ice fade away.
"Diamond Storm." Renamon called out launching her attack, destroying the Meramon. She absorbed some of the data while letting the rest form a digi-egg later in the digi-world. Ace used a short chant to change back into his normal clothes which made him slightly winded.
"Catch you later, pineapple head." he said walking home ignoring Rika's glare as Rena-chan was following him.
"Do I have your interest, Rena-chan?" he asked the renamon following him.
"It's a start, but you have someway to go." She said and he nodded with a smile.
"Would I get it if I save you from a strong digimon?" He asked, looking at her.
"Depends on the digimon." She said before fading out, disappearing out of his sight.
While Ace and his father were out, Kasumi was busy helping the mother with anything and everything she could. The mother was impressed by her work ethic and made her some homemade ramen for lunch.
"So…..how do you like it, Kasumi-dear?" The mother asked.
"It's incredible!" She was cleaning her bowl before asking for more.
There was some giggling from the mother, but it was to be expected especially with the two biggest lovers of her cooking. Soon Kasumi was laying back on the couch rubbing her full and extended stomach like she had eaten an overinflated beach ball.
"Kasumi-dear, can we talk for a moment before you take a nap to sleep the food off?" The mom asked.
"Sure." She said.
"If you do decide to be part of our family and to be clear, nothing will harm you and you are free to live with us if you want. However, I would love to have you as a daughter. I know you would need a mother figure, but there is much I could teach you." She said
"What about Ace?" Kasumi asked.
"There are some secrets males aren't supposed to know and his father is training him, but I think they would like it f9r you to join them in training. Also you could be with sochi-kun at school and might help him as well." Was said with a most somber tone.
"What do you mean?" Kasumi asked.
"Sochi-kun is the only boy in his school that doesn't have a digimon partner and he gets bullied just by that fact. He doesn't let it get to him, but you know how much only a person can take before they snap. Having you there would help him and you could make some friends yourself." Was explained and Kasumi nodded
"Well, I have some minor things to do so I'll let you nap till the boys get home and they train till dinner." She said softly before kissing her head and letting Kasumi nap on the couch. The last thing she did was put a blanket over her future daughter and went to do her errands.
'I hope that would give her enough to make the right choice later.' The mother thought with some hope.
Ace came home to see Kasumi napping on the couch and looked to see that she was still sleeping off her last meal. He went upstairs to work on his homework before dinner.
'Kasumi-chan could be an honorary member, but still treat her like family. Though if she was, then I probably wouldn't be able to date her.' Ace thought both sides of the debate while doing his work. He finished a little after an hour, but it was easy for him. He went to get a quick shower before dinner. Ace came downstairs as his quest was still sleeping, but he frowned at a thought
'After everything she told us, I thought she looked familiar somewhere.' He thought like a vague memory was toying with him.
(AN: Kasumi's original world is still part of this one, but it seems she was teleported to another city. However, after this chapter she will have a family to stay with.)
"All done with your homework, Sochi-kun?" His mother asked him.
"Yep, it took me a little longer than normal. Though me and dad will have to train later like after dinner." He said and she gave him a thinking look.
"You might not be able to train with him if we help Kasumi-dear." She said and he nodded.
"I don't mind. I want to help her as much as I can." He said and she smiled at him.
"Always such a kind and sweet soul." She said and kissed his head.
Soon Kasumi had woken up from her sleep and looked to be working on her lunch.
'If I keep eating like that, I might be as big as a house.' Kasumi thought, poking her slightly pudgy stomach.
'Though, getting up to my supposed weight would be a good start before any training.' She added as an afterthought. Ace turned to see Kasumi awake and poking her stomach.
"Don't worry. Kaa-chan's cooking will never let anyone get fat, but help them stay in shape." He said and she nodded.
After a while, his father came home with his briefcase and sat at the table with a noticeable frown.
"Something wrong, Tou-chan?" Ace asked his father.
"I was able to get a hold of my and your mother's digimon partners so expect them in the foreseeable future. However, I tried looking into Kasumi's info and her history is locked up tight. I think only she can get it without fail and I need it so she can be officially in our family." He said, still frowning.
Upon hearing that, Kasumi grabbed her laptop before sitting at the table and went to work on getting her info for the person that would be her new father. She was typing on her laptop like she was hyped on an energy drink. It took about an hour or so for her to get all the info on herself.
"Took me a bit of time, but I got it for you." She said before she was given a flash drive.
"Get me a copy of everything related to you and keep it on your laptop while not leaving a trace in the system." He said she nodded before doing as he asked.
Opening his briefcase was like a spy-like computer self-contained in the case. He plugged the flash-drive before making legal documents for her while putting her full name and naming her as a Kamen. (AN: Everything that was legal pertaining to getting her into their family, but that is not the big event….yet). He moved her money into a new account under her future name, did adoption papers, the whole works, and his computer was untraceable. That definitely took some time for him to do, but it was for the future of a family member.
"There my work is finally finished and we can do the ceremony tonight after dinner." He said as they nodded.
"Sorry kiddo, looks like no training tonight. We are going to be too exhausted after this." He added and Ace nodded.
"It's ok, Tou-chan. It's for Kasumi-chan." He said and hugged said girl.
"Thank you. Doing this for me and going so far just to bring me into your family." Kasumi said as she was crying.
"Kasumi-chan, you have faced enough in your life and you are still standing strong. You are a hero and you need to be rewarded." Ace said as she returned the hug.
"Ace-kun, you have an incredible way of making people feel better." Kasumi said, kissing his forehead.
"Clear the table and set it. I'm making enough food to give these two energy to spare so they go to bed late." The mom said, giggling a bit too much.
'Hearing that giggle makes me worried.' The three thought at the same time.
Soon the table was set and looked to be a feast, the food was prepared special and handled with care. The three were looking at the table before taking their places and the food smelt divine. It took the family a little over an hour to eat everything, but it happened.
"Despite being full enough to not want to move, I feel like I have energy to burn." Kasumi said as her stomach was slightly bigger than it was after she ate her lunch.
"I feel like I can go a couple of rounds with Tou-chan and beat him." Ace said shadowboxing.
"Same, but more so." The father said.
"I'm so happy that you three ate everything and left no leftovers." The mother said with another giggle.
"We might actually need the extra energy for the ceremony. No telling how drained we will be after this." He said, the three groaned as they got up before heading into the living room.
"Now the first thing is the passing of the heirloom to sochi. I say this because I used enough energy to heal you, but Ace had to help me in a way that I can't use it anymore. It needs to be passed to the next user, which is sochi in this case. Then Kasumi-chan will be offered a new name while offering a part of her old name. It could be her last name, but even though it may be lost it will never be forgotten. Once she has a new name, all the documents I made for her will be legally binding and she will be one of us." He explained as both kids nodded.
Using his energy from the meal, the father grabbed the card from the mantle and made a spell-like circle appear under them. The room darkened as the light was only coming from the floor.
"As the head of the Kamen family, I hereby pass the heirloom of our forefathers down to you as long as you use it for good and follow what your heart tells you." The father said as Ace nodded.
"I, Ace Kamen, hereby sworn to uphold the honor of guarding the heirloom of our family and using when my heart tells me." Ace said in an official like tone. The father passed the card to Ace before a flashed happened and the area around Ace seemed to be distorted.
"Very good. It seems you are the right bearer of the card. Now concentrating on the power and using it to change the house. Picture a room just for Kasumi-chan being made and bring it to fruition." He said as Ace nodded following the directions. There was a loud crack before it was quiet again, but Ace seemed to be breathing slightly heavy after his first use of the card.
"You are doing very well, sochi, much better than I was with the card. Now Kasumi-chan, step into the circle for your wish to be realized." He said before she did as he said.
"Formally Kasumi Mitsumiko, what shall your new name be upon joining the Kamen family?" Was asked.
"Kasumi Mitsukamen. I may not know my birth parents, but I will never forget them. I hope to know about them some day." Kasumi said now a member of her family or so it seems.
"Before we end the ceremony, there is one thing we must do and that is to share blood with the new member. Not a whole lot, but enough to make her family. However, Kasumi-chan, you have a choice. We share blood and make you a full member or not and still be family despite being an honorary member." The father said while the mother was standing on a side with him and Ace forming a triangle.
"I appreciate the offer, but I respectfully decline the offer. Just being an honorary member is enough for me." Kasumi said as they nodded before the circle faded and Ace fell to his knees breathing hard after feeling the power was gone.
"Need to get used to it before using it for real." He said as his father nodded
"That will be best before keeping in your digimon deck." He said with a small smirk.
"Is it possible later to change some of my features so people who know the old me don't recognize me?" Kasumi asked while helping Ace to his feet.
"Not tonight. Ace will need sleep before trying with that card again and we need to be here as well. Think about what you want changed and we can talk about it in the morning." Her new father said and she nodded with a smile. She took Ace upstairs, passing the door to her new room and setting him on his bed. Ace almost fell asleep right away from the drain of energy.
Kasumi tucked him into bed before kissing his head again and went to her new room for the night. Upon opening the door, the room looked pretty spartan so she and her new parents will need to get things for her room.
Soon she went to sleep, but Ace was still awake for a weird reason. He went to his desk drawing a renamon with nine tails, but wearing his gear.
"Her name is Kyubichimon." He said adding color to the drawings that were still black and white. He pulled some clothes out for him to sleep in for the night. He went to take a shower while his gear was being cleaned by itself due to a chant he cast after pulling the gear out from his closet. Taking a hot shower, he felt relaxed and cleaned up before wearing his sleep clothes and jumped into his bed. He went to sleep after turning off the lights and fell into a deep sleep. Sometime during the night, Rena-chan came into the room like Rika's Renamon and walked over to the desk where his notebooks are closed except for the one with his drawings and it was still on the new form he thought of for her.
'Kyubichimon, hmm. Something not done before, but a cross fuse of the renamon base form and kyubimon. I would be wearing the same gear as him except for the boots so I could still use my feet and I would have nine tails.' Rena-chan thought.
Turning the pages with a soft breeze, she noticed the drawings of the tamers as digimon with different fur or skin coloring and smiled when she saw ace as a golden furred renamon with black and white stripes on his body and tail.
'Cute.' She thought as she was looking at the drawing.
It would be a quiet and peaceful night for the family that grew just a bit bigger.
Chapter 2 of the revamp story is done and I moved some parts around of the old chapter while removing some parts. I could have added Kasumi to the family in the last chapter, but it would have felt rushed. Flamers and people who hate will be ignored.
Me: So any words now Kasumi-chan?
Kasumi: I'm surprised for you to do that for me though Neoken did it first in his first story's first chapter. Why the blood offering though?
Me: Well, the question is do you want to be Ace's sister or girlfriend? Cause I still have that date chapter in the old story.
Kasumi *blushing*: What are you saying?
Me: You have a choice.
Anyway the next chapter will be more fun as Kasumi-chan decides what of her body should be changed and school is on hold for now. Give her a few days and she will be helping Ace at school and maybe show a side of her that hates bullies.
