Chapter 3: Forest Ranger, Contracted Partnership, a Day for Kasumi
Ace is sleeping in bed having another dream around rena-chan, but it was like a vision and it wasn't a good dream. He woke up with a short gasp and breathing slightly hard, but he noticed that it was close to his normal time for waking up.
'Why are my dreams all about Rena-chan for some reason?' He wondered.
"Sleep was really what I needed after last night, but kaa-chan still made too much food." Ace said to himself feeling like eating a light breakfast.
He got up and started to pop his joints and his neck before getting his uniform ready. He looked over to see his gear hanging up on a stand cleaned and repaired without any damage to it from last night. He went to take a shower so he can be ready for school. He won't do his morning light training today since he figured out some heavy training after school would do the trick.
'Oh, dad was saying something about using the card again to see if Kasumi-nee-chan wanted any changes to stay hidden.' Ace thought as he went into the shower. He knocked on the door and did not hear anything from his new sister.
'Maybe Rika will like to watch me do some heavy training after school before I walk her home.' He thought, hopping into the shower so he could wake up and get himself clean.
'Have to shorten the spells or use another way to get them to work.' He thought about how to make his spells easier to use.
While thinking about other things, he is clean and drying himself off before going to get dressed for school. He was walking to the door of his room when he stopped sensing something and he smirked a knowing grin.
"I know you were here, Rena-chan." He said before hearing faint steps and smiled.
(AN: Ace's Renamon will be called Rena-chan so it won't be confusing when Rika and her Renamon is in the picture.)
As for the new member of the family, she was still sleeping a little bit longer. The mother yesterday went out to get a couple of things for her daughter just for the night. So she can get her own things, but needs a parent for the big shopping. Soon she was waking up due to the sunlight beaming indirectly into her eyes. She yawned before going to the bathroom and went to clean up. She was wearing silver colored pjs and yet all the food she ate was finally applied to her body. Washing her face, she noticed her body had changed like her stomach was back to being flat, her chest had grown slightly bigger (just slightly bigger than hinata from naruto), and it looked like she was healthier than what she was before.
'Her cooking did this?!' She was surprised within her own mind.
"Just means I need bigger clothes and to actually train more." She said, patting her face as she was finishing up in the bathroom.
Walking down the steps, he heard Kasumi moving around so she was up and probably found out about the effect of their mother's cooking. Coming into the kitchen, he noticed his father was reading his newspaper while drinking a cup of morning coffee. They silently agreed to have a light breakfast since they were still full from dinner last night. His father had some toast, eggs, and bacon while he had gotten some toast with 2 bowls of cereal. Soon Kasumi came in wearing a black shirt with silver stars on them, light blue jeans, and a pair of white, black, and silver shoes.
"I see you two had the same idea as me." Kasumi said to the boys.
Ace helped her with what she wanted for a light breakfast which was some fruit, orange juice, and a bowl of cereal. It was nice to have a meal without the mother trying to fatten them up like a certain witch of a story.
"With the weekend coming up, we can use that to see if you need training by me or a teacher like Ace went through. That Monday after is when you will start school with Ace. Oh, if there is a certain type of person with ill intent to you Kasumi-chan let Ace deal with them if they don't listen to you first." Their father explained and they nodded.
"Have you thought about the changes you want done?" He asked Kasumi who gave a half nod.
"Yes, I did." She said before the three were done with their breakfast and went to the living room. Ace took the card from the mantle and a smaller spell circle appeared under him and Kasumi.
"Ok picture her in your mind, kid and follow what changes she wants." Was said as he went to picture her in his mind. The power was slowly filling him, but he was taking controlled breaths.
"Ok Ace-kun, can you picture me taller?" She asked before he did so. She was feeling like she was slowly growing, but she was seeing the two males of the family were slowly shrinking.
"Ok, stop there, Ace-kun." He did so. He made her grow till she was 5'10" and the good thing was that her clothes grew with her too.
"Next, add some color. Like tan me up some and add some color to my eyes and hair." She said and he followed suit. She was slowly tanning.
"Ok, stop there." She said again as her skin had turned to a warm chestnut tan coloring. Next change was her hair color.
"Ok, stop there." Her hair was changed to an auburn-burgundy color mix. She felt his focus went to her eyes next. It took him a few minutes, but he stopped on his own. He handed her a hand mirror to see that he gave her eyes an ocean blue with wisps of silver in them.
Soon the power and spell circle faded away, but Ace was still standing this time. Kasumi picked him up in a hug before clinging his head in her chest and spinning around in place.
"You made wonderful choices 'little' brother." She teased him before setting him on his feet.
"Just to let you know, Kasumi-chan, you can switch between this look and your original look. With a simple thought, you can change between the two while you are here in the house. However, your current look is mostly for outside the house." Ace explained breathing a bit hard.
"My own ninja trick." She said, giggling.
"I wouldn't worry about eating too much for now especially when we get to the harder training, but after you are tested. The energy will help you later." Their father said as they nodded.
"I knew this would take some time, but I was going to skip my morning training. I will be home late because I'm going to be doing some heavier training." Ace said.
"Why is that, Ace-kun?" Kasumi asked him.
"Either my dreams are around a certain digimon or it's visions of that same digimon." He said and Kasumi was looking a bit worried for him.
"Just be careful, ok." She warned and he nodded.
"Gotcha, but I usually have a friend with me in case." He said and she nodded.
"What were your partners when you started your adventures?" Ace asked them after eating some of his ramen.
"A Gatomon and a Patamon, but we took special care for them to reach LovelyAngemon and SlashAngemon." He said, Ace nodded.
"Were you part of the chosen kids back then?" Ace asked.
"We were since our partners were able to reach their normal digivolutions, but your mother had her Gatomon reach Ophanimon instead of her mega level dragon digivolution." His father explained.
"You could say that we were their body doubles, but we did help them with their adventures a few times while having our own adventures." Their mother said as she came into the living room and Ace nodded.
"We were older than them by a year or two, but we did stop some of the problems they would have had if we weren't there. Though we do keep in touch with them to talk with them while you are at school or training a few times. They would be like your aunt and uncle if we had some say about it." The kids' father said.
"So you are body doubles for two of the chosen kids in the past. Like before the tamers were born?" Ace asked, watching Kasumi switching between forms so she can get used to it.
"Yep, but we were the body doubles for the bearers of the crests of light and hope." His father said with a nod.
"I have to get going so I can meet with my friend before school." Ace said as he was turning to leave.
"Ace, there will be a time where we have to keep something from you till we know you are ready for that adventure. That time is a ways off so keep training and get your digimon partner. Treat that digimon like family and protect them. Both of you will get stronger that way." His father said and Ace nodded.
"Do you still have the book your principal wrote before he was the principal?" His mother asked him and his eyes went wide for a moment.
"He is THAT author of the book? The book with the shiny holographic cover?" Ace asked, almost shell-shocked.
"Yep, he even wanted us to write our adventures into the book since we were part of the group, but our adventures are in different spots of the book." She said as Ace grew a toothy grin.
"What would you do if you had a sister, son?" His father asked with a serious tone.
"Love her and treat her right." Ace said.
"If she was missing?" His mother asked.
"Find her and her partner if she has one before helping them come home, but also take care of the S.O.B. who took her from us in the first place." Ace said and they nodded with a smile.
"Ace, time for you to go to school and meet with your friends." The father said before Ace left for school and actually get there on time.
His parents were smiling and sighed in relief before they got serious again.
"Do you have another child?" Kasumi asked her parents.
"The truth is that we did have a daughter, but she had vanished before Sochi was born. We tried looking for her, but we had him to care for and now we have you." Her mother explained and she had a thinking face on.
"Anyway, can I help?" Kasumi asked.
"Go with him when he takes the mission and make sure that both of them come home with you. You are just as important as any blood born child." Her father said and Kasumi nodded her head.
"I would like to meet her when she is brought back home." Kasumi said with a smile and her parents returned it.
(AN: Kasumi is adopted into the kamen family, but has a choice to be a blood relative or not. However, she will be cared for as if she was their own daughter.)
'They are really a great bunch of kids caring for their family.' The mother thought, smiling and shedding a happy tear.
"Have you heard from our partners?" She asked him
"Yes, I will be able to get them back after work and say that they are plushies for ace or for you." He said as she giggled at the old excuse they used for their digimon during their younger years.
He smiled at his friend, partner in life and marriage, and wife of their children before kissing her on the lips and left for work with his briefcase. Walking to the family car, he smiled at the thought of meeting his digimon friend and his wife's digimon partner.
'Things will be interesting around here when Ace gets that renamon who is following him.' He thought before getting into the car and driving to his job.
Ace's mother smiled as she looked at Kasumi before going to make herself something to eat for breakfast. After a bit, the two were hanging around the shopping district. It was mostly getting things for Kasumi like newer clothes that fit her style and taste, a phone so she could stay in contact with her family and any new friends she made, and some small and medium decorations for her room. Kasumi and her mother had ordered a california king size bed for her room, a bookcase for her own books, and a desk to rest her laptop. She knows she has the room for the mattress in her room like everything else.
The mother smiled when her and her husband's partners were back in their arms ready to have fun and help train Ace when he needed it. Ace is walking to school till he notices Rika and her Renamon walking together.
"Morning Rika-chan, Renamon." Ace called out as he walked over to them.
"Morning, Ace." Rika said as her partner nodded.
"How do you think the others did on the homework?" She asked him.
"Henry did it in 15 minutes, Takato did it in 10, and Kenta did it in 25. Kazu on the other hand spent the night slacking off or didn't care." Ace said and she smiled at the jab at Kazu.
"Will Kazu ever be on your good side or is he doomed to be on the receiving end of your glares?" Rika asked.
"The time when I trust Kazu is when he does something to earn it. My only reason he is on my bad side is because he thought he could taunt me about not having a digimon partner and I would let him do it." Ace said and she nodded.
Soon they were halfway to the school and Ace stopped again almost in that same spot he stopped in the day before looking around with narrowed eyes.
"What is it, Ace?" Rika asked.
"I think I sense a digimon following us." Ace said.
"Renamon, can you find it?" Rika called out.
"Hmm, I sense a digimon following us, but I think it's not hostile like that one that was sent by that hostile human." Renamon said and they nodded before resuming their walk to school.
Ace was thinking for a moment. "Could be that Renamon we met before. We haven't met any other non-hostile digimon yet." He explained and they agreed to his reasoning.
The digimon following them is the Renamon that took an interest in Ace as a possible tamer. She smirked glad seeing her future tamer being able to sense her. Rika's renamon faded away when Ace and her tamer made it to the gate of the school. She saw the other Renamon that was following them and landed close to her.
"I thought it was you following us." Rika's renamon said.
"I was following my possible tamer when he met up with you and your tamer." Rena-chan clarified.
"How long would it take for him to be your tamer?" Rika's renamon asked.
"Sooner than most. However, I thought I would never find the one human with the soul of the white knight." She said.
"White knight? What is that?" Rika's renamon asked.
"Either before or after the D-reaper incident, there was a wish made that our ancestors granted. The person who made the wish is carrying the soul of the white knight and I believe I have found the bearer of said soul. After the wish was made, there was a legend about the white knight and two myths within our race. There are two other mega level digimon that we, Renamon, can digivolve into aside from Sakuyamon." She explained.
"Who and what are the conditions?" Rika's renamon asked.
"The first one is Kitsuangewomon and the second one is Cielamon. One condition is a some kind of a biomerge and the other requires the use of a digi-egg." She answered.
"A digi-egg? No digimon has seen a digi-egg since the last group of heroes stopped Malomyotismon and that was years ago." Rika's Renamon said in shock.
"The digimon world has been changing since the Tamers came to get Calumon and the D-reaper and the granted wish." Rena-chan said.
"Hmm, those two forms are possible or all renamon or just certain ones?" Rika's renamon asked.
"I don't know yet, but I have a feeling that he will be the cause of the birth of the two forms. I got a sense that there is more to him than meets the eye." Rena-chan said.
While they were talking, Rika and Ace were at their lockers. They were getting their books for class and they walked to the class early. He was looking at her locker with a weird look before tapping on it to make a card fall and it blank unlike the others they have.
"A blank card? Has that happened before, Ace?" Rika asked.
"No, but I think this one's for you." He said and she nodded.
With classes going smoothly, it didn't feel right to Ace and he knew he was expecting something. He smiled when he heard Kazu got in trouble with the teacher for not completing his homework and Rika snorted, hiding the giggle. Lunch came around, Ace was first at their regular table with his lunch and Rika not far behind him.
"It's been too easy and nothing from that jarhead yet." Ace said.
"Maybe he has given up for now." Henry said with Takato following him with their lunches.
"He could have stopped before, but he didn't." Ace said with his eyes narrowed at the faint sense of something coming like a digimon.
Ace turned to glare at Kazu as he came with his lunch plus Kenta following him. Ace with Rika and Henry were on one side with Takato, Kazu, and Kenta were on the other side. Jerry came in with her lunch and sat on the other side of Ace.
"How are things with you, Ace?" Takato asked.
"Classes have been too easy and yet that overgrown brat hasn't tried anything." Ace said.
"How are things with your fox hunt?" Rika asked him.
"We are civil with each other, but it seems like it's going to take a while." He said as she nodded.
"There is a chance that I will be part of your group for real." Ace said as most of his friends minus Kazu were happy for him, even Kenta.
"That is good to hear." Henry said, offering a smile.
"Yeah, it was great with you around and you seemed to have a sharp mind when it came to the card game." Takato said and Ace smiled.
"I might have to test my luck with the packs to see if I got lucky." Ace said.
"I dunno. Getting new cards is fine, but you have to be smart or be like gogglehead wasting cards left and right." Rika said as the leader of the group hanged his head from that one time. While they eat their lunch, Ace has been thinking of a digimon that would be a problem for him and his future partner.
A group of four were walking around the city enjoying it. They had a group meeting with some old friends during their time here. These four had a hand in the fight with a thrice-damned vampire. Two of them were digimon; a Renamon and a Gatomon and the other two were their partners. They kept to themselves while acting as ghosts to the people of the city.
(AN: Ok, the twins have been remodeled into original characters. Before they were acting as me, but I want them to be them with small parts of me. Since this is the revamp, I took their parts from the first two chapters because it felt like they didn't fit anymore. They will be helping with some of the digimon bosses and mostly training Ace in the future. I felt like I had to address this before confusion ensued.)
"How long till the first group gets here, Ko?" Michael asked his friend.
"In a couple of hours, Michael. I mean how long since they all spread out to follow their dreams. Light and hope are still here as the school staff." Ko said.
"We have to get a wizard back for that gatomon and ace can do it with that card of his." The renamon said before their tamers nodded.
"Let's go to the meeting." His friend said as they left for their meeting place. They appeared at a park and laid against a perfect tree as they waited for their old friends. They settled in for a quick nap while enjoying the weather. After a couple of hours passed, a small group of six people were walking together like old friends into the park.
"Light and Hope are still missing, but they should be coming soon." Ko said to the group.
"So how have you six been?" Michael asked before the group explained what had been going on.
"Hmm, it's nice to know that the years have been good to you and the whole group, but this gen and the future gens will need to be in range with each other." Ko said as his friend nodded.
"Why do we need to come back to the fight when our time is over since the fall of malomyotismon and apocalypsemon." asked the person wearing the crest of friendship on his coat.
"Because a child we have been watching made a wish and I saw the path he would be walking so he will need the help." Ko said.
"But why us when you two are here and do a better job." The crest holder asked, folding his arms.
"Because we have our parts to play and they have theirs." A voice said and it revealed being the principal and his wife. The Crest holder hugged the principal and another man bearing the crest of courage hugged the wife being her brother.
(AN: The first group of digidestined is near adults in age, but have young adult bodies so their age is between the 18-25 range. They don't have kids of their own yet, but they might. The pairings here are different from what most expect, but it's my fanfiction. TkxKari, TaixSora, IzzyxMimi, Mattx?, Joex? When the second group comes in, I have a few surprises for the pairings. Kenxyolie, Davisx?, codyx?. As far as the pairings go for the current season, AcexRikaxCiela[a different one and not the digivolution]xRena-chan[his partner]xKasumi[my version], RyoxAlice, TakatoxJeri, Henryx?, Kentax?, Kazux? I don't know if I should troll those last two or actually try and help them find love. Your thoughts on the matter will help me out.]
"How are they in school?" Izzy asked.
"Just waiting for the kid to say troublesome sometimes." The principal said and his wife nodded.
"He is bored so he looks at the window, still keeping notes, and gets all of his answers right." She said as the others nodded.
"Sounds like another Izzy in the making or another Matt with how you make him sound." The sun holder said with the other chuckling at the jab.
"Protective of his friends and keeps 1-upping a constant bully of his despite that brat using digimon to try to get an advantage on him." She said with a frown as they nodded, not liking the bully.
"Another thing is that his friends from the current group of tamers defeated the D-reaper here." Ko said as the whole group nodded.
"We remember that since it was all over the news plus we did help where we could." The person with the crest of reliability said with the others holding grim looks.
"Kari, I think he will be the one to bring your wizard back as an egg plus with his memories." Michael said. Their eyes widened before looking at her and her gatomon with shocked faces, but they smiled kindly.
"If he can do it, then I think I can not give Ace-kun homework until we get him back at full power." She said
"I feel that some digimon will come back and he will be the one to fight them with his renamon as soon as he gets that partner." was said.
"Who?" the young woman with the crest of love standing next to the sun holder.
"The leech of digimon is only the start, but we don't know if it will lead straight to the final form of that leech." Was explained with a hint of disdain and venom. (pun intended if you caught it or thought/seen the fight with venommyotismon)
"Why him again and why now?" The young woman with the crest of serenity asked.
"Because it's the will of the white knight. He wanted to help fight gulfmon, but not just that pain in the neck." was explained.
"What do you want us to do while we wait for the signs to show?" The sun holder asked the two as the group stood at attention from the two tamers.
"To put it simply, train. Train to surpass your old levels and get his parents here to help with your training." Ko said as they nodded.
Soon lunch was about over and Kazu took Kenta along.
"I don't mind Kenta as much, but Kazu is a pain in the but. Before we head back to class I have news to share with you. After next week, there will be a new student coming here and she is like a sister to me. I will explain more when the time comes, but it would mean a lot to me if you all tried to be her friends." Ace said and they nodded with a smile.
"We need more girl power in the group to balance the boys." Jeri said with a giggle.
"Sure, everyone could use some real friends." Takato said.
"Maybe I can teach her the game." Rika said with a small smirk.
"Hold off on that for now, pineapple head. I mean she might pick it up quickly, but she is still settling in with me and my parents." Ace said and Rika had her patented glare on him.
"Trust me, you would like her when she has to deal with perverts or bullies." He said and her smirk was back.
The bully didn't show up like normal so that means he would try something after school. Ace was standing by the gate waiting for Rika.
"Rika, you want to see me really train?" Ace asked her.
"So that is why you weren't here like normal. You were planning something else for training." Rika said, but nodded all the same. He gives her the necklace proves that he trusts her slightly more than the other tamers. He had gotten some weights and tied them to his wrists, ankles, and wore a 50lb vest. It took him a couple hours of work, but can't blame Rika for enjoying the show and the training was worth it. He took a quick shower and used his key to lock up. He went to walk her and her hidden guarding home, but Rika gave him back his necklace.
'I think I know what digimon to fight to gain her trust.' Ace thought while firmly gripping his necklace.
"Been thinking about that renamon?" Rika asked and he nodded.
"Yep and I think I know the digimon to target by using the stories my parents told me growing up." He explained and she smirked at him.
"You have cool parents while my mother is a boring old model." Rika said and he smirked.
"She could have been like my parents before the modeling phase or something else entirely, but you don't know because you don't want to spend time with her." He said and she sighed. She knew he was right, but that was the old and cold Rika.
"For the record, I am trying to rebuild that bridge and me modeling won't be a thing with her." She said as he patted her back while nodding his head.
"I have seen some of the more sensible clothes that my mother has bought. I thought you would fit in, but I don't know if your mother has modeled in them or not." He said offhandedly.
They were talking while walking to her house, but had a detour to the park. Ace tensed up sensing something stronger than the bully and his digimon.
'Either Yamaki is slacking or the digimon here are getting smarter.' Rika thought about watching Ace for a minute before calling her partner.
"I'll help as well, but your test is still ongoing." Rena-chan said, appearing next to him. He went looking through his cards for a minute.
"Thank you for your assistance, Rena-chan. However, this one seems to be not worthy enough for your test." He said.
"It may not be, but we have to see if we have the synergy." Rena-chan said as he nodded.
"Another champion or an actual ultimate level digimon from what I'm sensing, but it's not here or coming here." He said and they nodded.
"Is it coming to us or are we going to it?" Rika's renamon asked as things got colder and it wasn't natural.
"Dammit we don't need that ice pick here." He said and noticed the breath that Rika had.
"Is that the one?" Rena-chan asked.
"I don't know, but I don't want to find out if there are two digimon." He said, chanting a spell to make his gear appear. Though it took him a few minutes.
"Have to shorten that." He lamented before pulling out his sword and channeled a bit of energy into the sword making it glow slightly.
A chilling fog rolled in and the cold got a bit worse, but Ace was looking around before a card from his deck and using his digivice.
Holding a card with his index and middle fingers, he slid it through the card reader with a flair toss of the card into the air.
"Digi-modify: Flame Haze trigger." He said as the air warmed up and the fog was burned.
Putting the card into a deck case for used cards, they saw the ice pick known to the tamer pair and the new pair in the making as Icedevimon who was burned by the fire haze.
"Still just him for now." Ace said and they nodded.
Ace gripped his sword while staring at the ice devil growling knowing from the story about it from his best friend. The sword started to glow a faint red due the building anger and rage. His eyes widened sensing another digimon, but at a distance and with a person in another part of the park. He started to growl as the glow of his sword grew stronger.
"Biomerge and we will burn him into a steam cloud." He said as she nodded.
He turned to his possible partner and offered his hand to her. "Truce for now and I would love to have your help against this ice pick and a Cherrymon that is further away." He said as she gave it some thought before making a truce with him.
"Ok, only this once. The test goes back in effect." She said.
He nodded before pulling out a card making him smile like a devimon at the ice pick.
"Ok what do we need to do?" Sakuyamon asked ace.
"Trap him." He said.
She nodded before turning to the Icedevimon and readying her plan to trap him.
"Amethyst Mandala." She said completing the first step of trapping him.
"Twin Blades of Beauty and Truth." The prick was trapped even further by two rings of purple energy.
"Fox Card." She said sealing the power he had as she finished her plan in quick succession.
"Our turn." Ace said to his ally.
"Digi-Modify: Wargreymon's Terra Force Trigger." Ace said, giving his ally the power attack. He was setting up his own killing combo.
"Terra Force." Rena-chan fired her attack as he was charging at the trapped ice pick.
"Rage Six Strike." He said. His attack merged with the terra force and the two rings Sakuyamon had summoned. His sword was glowing bright orange, red, and pinkish-purple. It ended with an explosion as Ace sheathed his sword.
"Come on, we still have a cherry tree to chop down." Ace said.
The human and two digimon ran to see a cherrymon with someone wearing a park uniform. Ace noticed that the person wasn't human so he found the person interesting.
"Why is the Cherrymon with you?" Ace asked while narrowing his eyes at the digimon.
"Cause we just met. He thinks I could be his trainer." The ranger said as Ace nodded.
"I know that feeling." He agreed with the ranger.
"There are better ones than Cherrymon like Palmon and Floralmon. I just have a caution with Cherrymon, but I won't have it against you if your digimon somehow got to that stage." Ace explained.
"So with that." Sakuyamon said before turning the ultimate into data with a few attacks with her staff and spirit foxes while Ace was covering the ranger with his sword in a defensive stance. The data was sent back to the digimon world.
"My name is Aleu." The ranger said he shook her hand.
"Ace Kamen." He said.
"The Sakuyamon is a friend of mine biomerged with her renamon." He said and she nodded.
The ranger uniform was quite form fitting on her and he wouldn't mind if she could be his friend. Aleu is a wolf/dog hybrid anthro standing at 6'1, athletic build, sea green eyes with dark brown pupils, and a light grey with dark grey fur color.
"We didn't mean to take your chance of being a tamer, but there are still other digimon and ones that will like your peaceful personality." He said with a gentle tone and gave her a hug.
"I have noticed that a few others are like me and we formed a group. I hope that you four would be our friends as well." She said as the three (four) nodded their heads.
"Sure." They all agreed.
Ace looked behind the ranger sensing something coming, but it didn't pose a threat to them.
"Rookie level, two of them coming this way. They must have sensed the same that I have from you, Aleu." He said. Sakuyamon reverted back to Rika and her Renamon.
"If you need any tips on being a tamer, I can help as will the other tamers if you explain it to them." She said, Aleu nodded as she was given a digivice for both palmon and floramon. They walked to the entrance of the forest park and they were enjoying the silence of it.
Aleu had a place in the forest where she could help her new partners find food as she was getting to know them. Ace and his ally were sitting on the roof of his house watching the stars.
"It was nice just being around you instead of sensing you hiding a few feet away." He said.
"It was quite enjoyable, but this is where our contract ends." She said almost sad.
"Before you go, do you want to know what digimon I have planned for this test?" He asked and she thought about it before nodding her head.
"Sure, what digimon is it?" She asked.
"Myotismon and his two other forms from the last two gens." He said and she looked at him like he was insane.
"How?" She simply asked
"Time will tell when that one will appear. However, I have some business to deal with that leech." He said before she left. He dropped down to his room window going to bed and sleeping so he could be ready for his morning workout, the usual morning run.
Since Ace had a busy day, Kasumi also had an eventful day as well. Her mother had shown her around the city and some of the good places to relax. It was exciting and she felt a void in her heart slowly closing. It was closing because she had a family now and she would be willing to protect them. She knew her brother was sleeping in his room, but she had a different idea.
'Little brother, I think you might need me tomorrow to keep that light in you.' Kasumi thought as she took Ace from his room and brought him to her room.
She was under the blankets while he was just under the cover. She hugged him while his head was against her chest.
"Kasumi-nee-chan, you need to be careful. Our parents will find a reason to prank us if they find evidence." Ace said in a low sleepy tone. She just smiled before kissing his head and she too went to sleep. For the first time in two nights, he found comfort in his sister and he liked the feeling of protection she was giving off.
Tomorrow is another day.

"Well, bringing you as a foxy princess wouldn't make sense here. The next chapter will have you as a support role with Ace, but still as important.
Kasumi: So you are slowly building me up and not tapping into the gems.
Me: The time for the gems will come into play on their own.
