Chapter 4: Police Friend Comes Back, Case Closed, and a Favor Returned

Despite waking up like normal, Ace felt that his sister either got in his bed or took him to hers for the night. Cracking one eye open, he noticed that she took him to her room and felt that she was under her bed sheets. He gave her sleeping form a smile and kissed her head like she does to him. Looking around, he noticed a newly bought calendar with this month and noticed the date.

'Another year since then and I think I'll skip school and have Rika bring the homework and notes from class.' He thought to himself as he felt his sister didn't try to keep him in her arms under the cover. He got up and reapplied the cover. Leaving for his room, he pulled a different set of clothes for the day. The look of the weather means a chance of rain and cloudy all day from his window. He took a hot shower to clear his mind and relaxed his muscles. Putting on a gray long sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, white socks, and his normal shoes, he put on his special coat that is usually with his gear and strap the sword to his back. He came down the steps and saw his parents in the kitchen.

"Morning sochi, need me to call the school and tell them that you won't be coming today?" His mother asked, seeing him not his normal self.

"If you don't mind, Kaa-chan. There is a chance where it might rain and I won't be training as I could get sick from overworking myself." He said before eating the hearty breakfast she made for him.

"I have to agree with you son." His father said setting the paper down after seeing the weather on it.

"Good morning." Kasumi said wearing a mix of silver and blue clothes made to handle rainy weather.

"Morning, Kasumi-nee-chan." Ace greeted her.

"Morning, Kasumi-dear." Their mother said, setting a plate of food for her as well.

"Did you like having your 'big sister' sleeping with you?" She asked him with a slight tease, but Ace knew different.

"Thank you for keeping me safe in your arms, Kasumi-nee-chan. I was able to sleep like you were my own dream catcher." Ace said, stopping their parents from trying to tease them.

Since Sochi-kun won't be going to school today, Kasumi-dear. I need you to stay with him for the day." Their mother said with a more serious tone, but they knew she was worried for him.

"I'm on it, Kaa-chan." She said, saluting their mother. Ace on the outside showed no emotion, but on the inside he was smiling happy to have a family like this.

'Saving her was well worth it to see our parents smiling.' He thought before getting up from the table. His plate was clean after eating his breakfast.

"Let him go for now, Kasumi-dear. Just eat and catch him later. We need to tell you what today means for Sochi-kun." Her mother said as her father nodded in agreement.

"It's been a few years, but I was drugged and was forced to beat up your mother and brother. How was it done? There was no clue because a certain drink I had 0% of alcohol. Basically all fruit juice and when I came home, it was a nightmare for me. Your brother took the hits for your mother like a champ till something happened and I was in the hospital under police guard. Kiddo was in a different room, but he stood up for me and a friend of the family is still looking at my case since the person who drugged me is still at large." The father said before Kasumi hugged their father and she knows why Ace was like this.

"Tou-chan, you are a hero and a victim, that will never change." Kasumi said, kissing her father on the head.

"You should go look for our old police friend at the local station.

"What is her name?" Kasumi asked while she was done with her breakfast. It was whispered into her ear.

Meanwhile, Ace takes a different way to the part of the city where the police station and a certain police officer works there. He stood on a four-way junction of street lights waiting for the green walk signal and sensed his test giver was following him by rooftops.

'I'm not surprised.' He thought to Rena-chan.

'Why are you not in school?' She asked.

'I appreciate the concern, but right now is not a good time. I'll talk about it later with you. Same spot?' He offered and he hid a small smirk. He had gotten a feeling that she will be there for him.

Ace was out and about with Kasumi on his trail, but Rika and the other tamers were stuck in class. She knew something was up when the teacher told them that Ace wasn't feeling well and won't be coming to class.

'Ace isn't in class and I know he doesn't actually get sick for a reason. Something is wrong and the weather shows it.' She said while taking notes for Ace.

'What's wrong, Rika?' Her partner asked through the link.

'I wish I could have developed his way to scare that stupid pervert.' Her thought reached her partner.

'Maybe he can teach you something more worthy to scare him and the others.' Her partner said through the link.

"Rika, be sure to get Ace's homework for him." The teacher said and she nodded knowing she had to make a copy of her notes for him.

'There is only one day a year that he doesn't come to school and he told me about it during one of our walks back then.' She briefly checked the date on her phone and grimaced. 'Yep, that would be the day his father had gotten into trouble and gotten lucky. Moreover, I need to scare Kazu for Ace and tell him when we meet up.' She thought.

She looked over to Kazu and gave him her best (worst for him) scowling death glare and the said boy was definitely scared. She took a discreet picture of his face with her phone before going back to taking notes. 'Definitely worth it and I want to see him happy too.' She thought smiling under her ice queen mask.

Almost to the police station, Ace felt a wave of pride for a certain pineapple head and he smirked. 'Rika must have done something to make me smile later.' He thought before walking inside the police station. He noticed that the police officers were wearing blue uniforms. 'They are almost like the blues from that first mirror's edge game.' He thought of a game in his opinion that was good.

He stopped seeing his sister waiting there with the officer he was coming to see.

"Nee-chan, how did you get here before me?" Ace asked slightly confused.

"Our kaa-chan showed me a few hidden paths to take less time. They told me what happened before I was adopted into the family." She said getting up and bringing him into a hug.

"You were there for me when you had a chance to leave me in that alleyway, but you didn't. I want to be here for you in your time of need like you were for me." She said in a tone that spoke to him and made him return the hug even more.

"Thank you, nee-chan. Just keep being that light and I will find you." He said in a hushed tone.

"Inspector Carmelita Fox?" He asked as the officer heard him.

"Ace Kamen, my frequent visitor. Your sister came to me and I knew that you would appear. This day since those long years passed; you would help try to find that one person who got away." Carmelita said, knowing Ace as well as she does.

"I think this year will be the year. Oh, an old friend of yours wanted me to give you this." He said before handing her a certain calling card of a ring tail thief.

"How did he get this to you?" She asked.

"Dropped by, said his piece, and asked about you." Ace shrugged.

She went digging into her computer and found data from the calling card when she scanned it. 'Ring tail, I owe you one. Helping a kid and keeping him away from crossing a line though, it would be justified.' She thought with a smile. The inspector is a female fox with brownish-orange fur and yellow fur accents, a mole under her right eye, braided waist length deep ocean blue hair, and a pair of glasses on her face.

"What makes you so sure it will be this year?" She asked him.

"I keep trying to find that scum and so far no luck. However, I have help." He said resting a hand on his deck case. Carmelita noticed where his hand rested.

"So you finally have a partner?" She asked, giving him a smile and a pat on the back.

"Not quite. She has been watching me as I go about my day and try to pass her test." He explained and she nodded.

While they were talking, a certain person with his gatomon was standing on the roof of the building and he was not happy because he found out about something that shouldn't have been possible.

"He is right though. The rat that thought spiking my brand of drinks was a good idea will think again after I'm done with him." He said while trying to keep from leaking killing intent while controlling his anger.

"Let the kid find him and then we will help escort the punk to the police." His gatomon said and he nodded. Ko and his renamon joined them on the roof.

"That idiot will be caught today even if we have to 'help' trap him." Ko said and they all nodded.

They noticed Ace, his sister, and the inspector leaving in her car. They waited till they were ahead enough so they could follow them via rooftops. Ace was looking out the window as Kasumi was doing the same while they were looking for the person that ruined his father's life all that time ago. Thinking of that night, when his father came home drunk and started beating on him for saving his mother.

'Today they will be found and caught.' both Ace and Michael thought at the same time.

The small trio have been through half of the city looking for their prey, but still no luck yet.

'Would you like some help?' Rena-chan asked in his mind.

'Thanks for the offer, but my sister is my one volunteer for this. Just watch and enjoy what happens. Isn't it too soon for another truce?' He replied, but asking that last part. Ace lost in his thoughts that he missed Kasumi and Carmelita calling him.

"Hey." The inspector said gently breaking him out of his thoughts.

"Hmm?" He responded.

"Want to get lunch before we go back to search more later?" She asked.

He thought about it before nodding. By now he would have had lunch with his friends and probably scared a certain pervert about 5 times already. She turned a corner to a place just down a block or two from the station. They were walking to a small cafe that became a place just for the three of them on a day like this.

As they were just getting out, Kasumi was first and waiting for her allies of justice. In the span of a couple minutes, she grabbed a hand that was about a few inches from her mouth and judo flipped the owner of that hand into the ground. She kicked the offender away, making him hit some garbage cans and the noise alerted her brother and the inspector. Ace took a few steps to be by his sister and took the appearance of the person messing with his sister.

"Not him….." Ace said with eyes narrowing at the person.

"I felt a sense of danger behind me and I went with my old training." Kasumi said and he nodded.

Ace turned back to see Carmelita still by her car door and was trying to pick up any stray sounds with her ears. Ace and Carmelita went ahead to the place for lunch and Kasumi was bringing up the rear. Kasumi almost made it inside before a hand covered her mouth and was taken away. Ace immediately felt something go wrong.

"She was right behind us." Ace said as he was slowly getting angry and protective of his sister.

"Let's find her." Carmelita said as they left to look for their companion.

Taking a few turns, Ace stopped hearing his sister fighting back against a couple of opponents.

"Have to survive till help gets here somehow." Kasumi said as her old lessons were working on plain old thugs. Ace was growling at seeing the man that tricked his father by doing something to his sister.

"What's wrong, ace?" Carmelita asked in a low tone.

"That scum of the earth is there, but sounds like he minions trying to wear out my sister. She will need more training to learn more than one style." He whispered as her ears picked up his words.

'Justice, not vengeance. Not by anger or hatred, but find peace. This is for my father and now saving my sister.' Ace was controlling his emotions and trying to stay peaceful. The family card presented itself to Ace by floating on his own and he knew his sister needed help. Grabbed the card, he gripped his digivice before slashing the card through it.

"Tamer Modify: Alter Trigger." He said and a small area around him became distorted.

"Take your shots, but keep the setting on stun for those punks. They messed with the wrong person." Ace said as he charged in to help his sister out.

One of the thugs were about to get a lucky shot at Kasumi before a blur ran by and knocked the thugs away. Carmelita fired a couple of stun blasts at the few on the ground paralyzed and Kasumi had a smile happy to see her backup was here.

"Get up you schmucks, it's only a kid and a single cop." The person Ace was after and it only slightly ticked Ace off.

"Any longer and I might have to waste some energy on idiots who were weaker than ones who actually deserve it." Kasumi said to Ace.

"I think I remember something about you before you became my new sister. If it is what I think it is, then….." He said, but left his thought open-ended.

"Since you have been after that scum, you can handle him while I take out the trash." Kasumi said, flicking her wrist to reveal a device that looks like a transformer. (After this fight, it will upgrade to a new form). "Light Illumina Activation!" Kasumi called out going into her hero form.

Ace had a shit eating-grin on his face before rushing at the supposed boss of the thugs. He punched him in the face, sending him into the brick wall behind him.

"It's several long years, but a family will get closure from your punk ass getting in prison. I also heard things about what people like you get in there by the inmates. It's not pretty." Ace said, knocking the scum out with a chop to the neck.

'Thank you, Uncle Ben.' (The greatest Spider-Man quote ever. Nuff said.)

"Fist of the North Star." Kasumi said using her light as a simple punch. She had to be sure not to use more than necessary energy on them. After a few minutes, a couple more cop cars showed up to arrest the group that had taken Kasumi and the trio had given their statements. Before his power faded, Ace looked over the transformer on his sister's wrist and touched it with his power.

A flash of light blinded their eyes, but her transformer has been changed and also her uniform has been changed as well. She is wearing a headband with a star on her head, silver and bluish-grey fighting gi used in martial arts, white sandals, and a pair of gloves with 5 holes each glove.

'9 spaces not counting one already have, but 4 are still open when I put the other 5 in their place on the gloves.' Kasumi thought before powering down and seeing her new morpher on her wrist. It looked like her original one, a two piece system, but a key to a black transformer. (Magna Defender morpher)

The area around Ace had soon returned back to normal as they watched the police officers move the criminals into their cars including the inspector. 'He could have been a bit worse on this one, but his sister and ring tail must have done some good for him. I hope he comes back soon. We really need to talk.' Carmelita thought as this ended as one of the better arrests she had.

Carmelita led the two teens back to the cafe place that they were going to have lunch before stopping at her car.

"Have lunch on me for this one and be proud of yourselves. Ace, you could have done a bit more dark on that scum, but you controlled yourself and Kasumi had done well surviving till we got there to help her out." She said ruffling Ace's hair and patted Kasumi on the back.

The inspector left in her car as the two went into the café to have lunch and Ace wanted to see if he could unlock some memories.

They were led to a table in a back corner where they couldn't be seen.

"Twice you saved me and I'm your big sister." Kasumi said with a frown.

"The first one was when I had no idea who you were and this time it was a younger sibling trying to help the older one. You did help by taking out the lackeys of that scum while letting me take out that one mean piece of grinch." Ace said, smiling as she returned it. Before she actually left, Carmelita came in and told the staff that she would pay for the two kids in the back corner (Ace and Kasumi).

"You know. Your story when you told us rang a vague bell in my head like I knew you before and I couldn't remember. Seeing that power of yours, helped me remember who you were. You joining our family now felt like my greatest dream came true, but you are still my 'big sis'." He said and she smiled before kissing his head. "However, it will be between you and my digimon partner to save me if I get into big enough trouble." He said and she nodded, unknown to them Rena-chan nodded her head as well.

Their lunch was good and they got to know about each other to the point they were like siblings since birth. "So you knew me before we met that night." She said

"Only in passing. At one point, I wanted to be like you or be on your team." He said with a faint blush and she giggled rubbing his back.

"How does it feel meeting one of your heroes?" She asked, looking at him.

"It felt wonderful to meet you, but felt more so when you joined our family. I believe in making our own path, but along that path is the karma of our actions. I know this path I'm on started with finding you, but we choose to be either dating or blood siblings. However you wish, I don't mind either." He said with a smile as she had a pure red face.

"Keep teasing me and I will unleash hell on you when you have a girlfriend." Kasumi said with an ominous tone, but her smile was dark.

"Whatever this path leads, I will be there to help the best I can and we will get through it. You have your friends as well, but our parents too if you need them." She said, rubbing his head.

"You would get along with Rika-chan and the others minus Kazu." He said before seeing a look.

"He is a loudmouth idiot and a partial pervert." He said.

"How partial?" She asked

"He has a brain in his head somewhere." Ace said.

"Now let me tell you about my friend's journey as the Tamers." Ace said before explaining his friend's history, but skipping his own and his parent's since she already knew that beforehand.

"I'm going back to school tomorrow as today was a special day. Solved a case and formally met my hero, that is my sister." Ace said as they shared a smile.

They were standing outside the cafe as Ace caught a card that fell by him and it said: 'Lumina Gem Surge'. Ace was looking at it before putting it into his deck box.

"That was random." Kasumi said as Ace shrugged his shoulders.

"It happens. Usually a card shows up when something like that happens or something else." He basically explained. Closing his eyes, a blank card appeared in a small flash and he handed it to her.

"Rika-chan has a blank card too, but that one will work with your power." He said and she nodded.

Ace showed Kasumi parts of the city that he enjoys and the visit to the park is the last stop. It is one of the usual spots to meet up with the group.

"Thanks, nee-chan. You helped me stay in the light when you decided to help me and the inspector. If you didn't, then I would have done more to hurt that scum and probably enjoy it." Ace said before Kasumi hugged him and held him close.

"Ace-kun, I meant what I said about being there for you and I mean it." She said, kissing him on the cheek.

"I have told my friends about you minus the pervert and they would all be your friend. The girls think they need more allies, but I'm neutral and with you the balance of power would be even. Rika-chan would even teach you about the card game and I think you would be good at it. I rarely play it. Now Rena-chan, who has been following me, is testing to see if I'm worthy of being her partner." Ace explained while both he and her were sitting on a bench under a tree.

"Little brother, even by controlling your emotions like you did put you in a better spot and not on a level like them. When you fight for someone precious, that is when you have true strength." Kasumi said as she remembered one of the lessons from one of her former fellow knights.

"Ace, you said you were going to tell me what was going on today." Rena-chan said, appearing behind him with her arms crossed.

"Today was a dark day each year in the past before Kasumi-nee-chan helped me with dealing with scum today. My dad finally gets his justice." Ace explained

'Seems like you are steadily reaching to become my tamer.' Rena-chan kept that thought to herself.

A phone was ringing which made both kids check their phones and Ace's phone was the one going off. He smiled gently seeing one of his friends calling him.

"Hey, Rika-chan." Ace greeted her.

"Ace-kun, where are you?" Rika asked

"Sorry for leaving you alone for the day, but I have news for you. Is the group with you?" He asked.

"No, they all went home already and I have your homework with a side of notes to help you. What is your news?" Rika asked

"Come to the park with your partner. It would be a good chance to meet the person I was talking about yesterday." Ace said.

"Ok Ace, we have to walk by there anyway. See you soon." Rika said, ending the call.

"She sounded happy, but I could tell that she has a bit of an ice queen from her voice." Kasumi said.

"Yeah, she and I have masks we wear at school to hide our true selves, the tamer group knows the real us though. She was a major ice queen back then, but I think I melted her heart somewhat and one of my best friends." Ace said

"Before you ask, Rika-chan, there still is Jeri and Alice, also gogglehead and Henry." Ace said before feeling a pair of ….arms around his neck.

"This is your sister? If I like any other girl, I would be jealous and envious of her." Rika said, getting a good look at her.

"Oi pineapple head, since when you were normal?" Ace asked in a normal tone and Kasumi saw a tick mark form on her head. Rika wanted to give him a five-finger head rub, but she decided to do something else.

"Before you ask if I am a girl, feel two reasons about why I am." Rika said as she put his head into her budding chest. He turned his head to hide a very faint blush, but Kasumi caught a small sight of it.

"I think 'little' brother needs some help." Kasumi said before doing the same as Rika, but taking the front side of his body. With the addition of Kasumi to the hug, his blush grew to where both girls saw it on 0art of his face. They let him go and giggled as if they planned that beforehand. Ace made the blush go away before flicking their heads with a hard enough finger flick.

'I think I need to stop Kaa-chan with the future reading.' He thought.

"There will come a time and a place where both of you will be a stuttering mess and blush so red you will be a pair of tomatoes. I will be the one laughing." Ace said like it will be prophesied.

Kasumi told Rika about her history before becoming Ace's new sister and now she just wants to get settled.

"Actually little brother, I might have to push the joining your school part of dad's plan back. During that farce of a fight, it shows I need to get back to training and add more to what I know. Will still join your school, but I need to do this." Kasumi said before Ace nodded.

"I get it, but just train hard and get in before we all graduate." He said as both were smiling.

"I like her already because she is like me in a way and we will get along just fine." Rika said as both girls were also sharing a grin.

"You and her both have a blank card, but hers had a bit more self-control on my end. As far as what they do, no idea. They might be what you need when you need it." Ace explained and they nodded.

"It seems that he is going to be your tamer if things go like they are and he proves during the final testing." Rika's Renamon said and Rena-chan agreed.

"I will bet everything on him to pass." Rena-chan said with a kind smile.

Leaving the park, the trip was uneventful till they saw the bully standing in their way.

"Digimon all around us this time. Most are champions while there are a few ultimates." Rena-chan said as the trio stood back-to-back triangle formation.

"Do you feel like we need another truce here, Ace? I won't leave it to chance with ultimates hanging around." Rena-chan said as Ace felt like trusting her a bit more.

"Just this once and I need all of you to help out." He said, opening his deckcase.

"What do you need?" Kasumi and Rika asked.

"Both Renamons form a dome of diamond storm and Kasumi-nee make a strong light barrier surrounding us." He explained pulling out his trump card.

"What are you going to do?" Kasumi asked.

"Going to use some of my deck for this fight." He said, lining up his and Rika's digivice parallel to both sides of a card.

"Digi-Modify: Banner of the Royal Knights Activate/ Trigger." They said triggering the card for both renamon.

"What does that card do?" Kasumi asked before doing the stance for her new hero form. "Illumina Defender Power!" She transformed, donning her new outfit and fixing her gloves.

"Increases the power of a signature move of a digimon like diamond storm for both renamon, it stays in effect till the battle is over." Ace explained as he had that card from Henry as a gift after the d-reaper event.

The enemy digimon mob charged at the small group, but the diamond storm dome took out the champions, but the ultimates remained. The two Renamon were taking in some of the data from each one. The ultimates are attacking, but the light barrier is still holding strong.

"You have another trick up your sleeve, Ace?" Kasumi asked, starting to feel the strain of feeding the barrier.

"One and it's a big one." Ace said before looking at Rena-chan.

"What do you need, Ace?" She asked.

"Your trust in me for this to work. Not just for us, but for Rika-chan and Kasumi-nee-chan." He said as he pulled out another card.

"Ask it and it will be yours." She said and he nodded.

"Digi-modify: Wizard's Library." He said as the area around them changed to a large library.

"Time for a merger." Ace said he and his renamon were glowing. The family card was glowing as if feeling their hearts coming together.

Both merged into a being that looks like a wizardmon or a sorcerymon. He wears a light blue and purple hat with a skull on the front covering short blonde hair and he has pale green eyes, a mix of white, tan, light blue, and red clothing with his dark blue and purple over cloak, has faces on his pant legs with zippers on them and on the cloak. He is wearing dark brown gloves with two rings on the right index and middle fingers while they have a zipper in the middle of the palm of both his gloves. His shoes have gold and silver crescent moon buckles while he carries a sun and snowflake staff in his left hand.

"Ancientmysticmon, mega level like our biomerge, Renamon. No other information on him." Rika said looking at her digivice.

"Thousand Spellbooks." Ancientmysticmon said as a thousand books floated over to him before opening up and casted a thunder spell on the ultimates damaging them and killing the weaker ones.

"That is like Taomon's Thousand Spells." Rika's Renamon said.

"Is everyone able to do something like this?" Kasumi asked Rika

"No, only we tamers could do it through our bond we have with our partner digimon." Rika explained as Kasumi nodded.

"Why don't they have a bond like you and the other tamers?" Kasumi asked

"Because Ace is still being tested, but I think that she is trying to get him to trust in people again outside of his inner circle." She said and Kasumi nodded.

"Yeah, but you can't force change on people like that. They have to do it themselves." Kasumi said and Rika agreed with her.

"I think I know what he is planning on doing though." Rika said.

"What?" Kasumi asked.

"Giving us a show." Rika said with a smirk as Ancientmysticmon channel energy into both hands.

"As Head Research Advisor of the Royal Knights, I'm about to show you why you can't win." The wizardmon superior said.

"Spellbinder." He chanted trapping the remaining ultimates before channelling more energy.

"Sacred Mystic Elemental Slash!" Was called out as the enemies were cut into data by a blade made of pure magical and elemental energies.

Kasumi was slowing down on her energy to keep the barrier up as the being was split back into Ace and his ally. Ace fell to his knees as Rika with her partner came to them. Both Renamon took most of the data while leaving some to reform as digi-eggs.

"How did it feel?" Rika asked.

"It felt like we were made to be partners with how natural it felt. However, the test won't be concluded until it's decided." Ace said with a tone.

The bully came up behind Ace to attack him, but Kasumi cut him off.

"I may not be helpful as much with digimon business, but protecting my brother is my business." Kasumi said, cracking her knuckles.

Kasumi used her own martial arts to send the bully into a dumpster and may have a bag of trash land on him. Ace gave her a thumbs up as he was being helped by both Renamon. Rika smiled at her and patted her on the back. A smile formed on Kasumi's lips before reverting to her normal state.

"This is becoming an everyday thing with that punk going after Ace. Sooner or later a mega will be after him." Ko said.

"Glad to have that rat behind bars and my fruit drinks will be in the clear again soon." Michael said with a happy smile.

"Yeah, but did Kasumi really have to use her powers on a bunch of weaklings?" Michael's gatomon asked.

"Jury is out on that." Ko said.

"Seems like she is going well with the changes, but those are all her choices. I wonder what will happen next." Ko's renamon said looking at the group.

After dropping Rika and her Renamon at her home, Kasumi was helping Ace walk home till he could walk under his own power. Rena-chan was watching them from a distance with a smile.

'Yeah, it definitely felt natural between us. Sooner or later the final testing will be upon us and I will believe in you to carry through.' Rena-chan thought and it almost scared her for him.

"Thanks, Kasumi-nee-chan. I knew you would protect me from him and you only have to save me one more time before we are even." Ace said before he noticed they were back at the park bench.

"Need a break before we get home. We can talk till we are ready." Kasumi said gently.

"And no, stopping that moron isn't all that special. I still owe you two life saves." She added with a giggle.

"Did you have any heroes before me?" Was asked and he was slowly thinking hard.

"Our parents, the others digidestined that were before the tamers, some of the Royal Knights that know better than to follow the rules, and others." Ace explained and Kasumi smiled knowing that he knew better.

"I was first a guest in your house, then an adopted sister, and a friend. Did you have a crush on me when you first heard of me?" Kasumi asked him.

"No. I think at the time I wanted at the most to be friends more than a girlfriend. I don't know much about dating, but I would like to be myself when I do. While I was growing up, there were only a few friends there for me that didn't care whether or not I had a digimon partner. Just between us for now, I only feel sisterly love from you. Maybe that will change in the future, but who knows" He said with honesty.

"Let's keep going at our normal pace of being family and see if anything like that changes between us." She said and he nodded.

Soon they had stood up from the bench and Ace was feeling much better than before. They made it home some time before dinner and Ace went to get cracking on the homework. Their father was talking on the phone with someone when they got in. Kasumi went into the kitchen and gave her mother a thumbs up. She got a smile in return before going to help cook dinner.

'I have to thank Rika-chan for making these notes and giving me both the homework and notes.' Ace thought using the notes to figure everything out.

Soon the kid's father hugged Kasumi before kissing her head and also kissing his wife.

"I was told that you and your brother helped bring in a criminal that was hiding." He said as Kasumi nodded her head.

"It was to help both you and our little Ace-kun." She said.

"You two are the best kids I could have asked for." He said and she hugged him.

"Tou-chan, can you hold back for me getting in his school?" Kasumi asked.

"Of course. Why do you ask, Kasumi-dear?" He asked.

"I feel like I need to step up my training and make a style just for me." She explained.

"Sure. I'll take a half day from work and we can see about your training. I will get our partners before leaving work." He said and she nodded.

Ace was solving everything within a few minutes once he got enough help from the notes. He turned to hear his father coming into the room. The only thing was "Thank you" and "You are the best son ever" coming from the door. Ace set his work down before turning around and returning the hug to his father.

"Tou-chan, you can rest easy now." Ace said with a soft voice and it sounded like it could break.

"Your sister is helping make a special dinner to celebrate tonight. You and I can train after dinner, but make sure that your homework gets done before bed." He said and Ace offered a playful salute. When his father left the room, Rena-chan appeared behind him and patted him on the back.

"At first it sounded like Ace-kun wanted revenge, but he wanted justice for you. With his sister nearby and you in his heart, he didn't go further or darker. He was in control of his actions and wanted to bring that worthless human in." Rena-chan said.

Dinner was a bit late, but Ace had just finished his homework. There was much joy around the table, but Ace made a plate of food before taking it outside. He left it on the roof, but it disappeared the second he turned his back.

"Thank you, Rena-chan, for trusting me and letting me trust you in return." Ace said before getting back inside.

'Another point in your favor.' Said fox thought with a smile. She ate with a smile before putting the empty plate in the sink. The parents were smiling at his gesture as Kasumi nodded her head. Soon the father-and-son duo were training extra hard while Kasumi was surprised to see them put in more effort than normal. 'Must have been happier than normal, but I'm not surprised.' She thought. She patted the medicine ball that is her stomach and knows that she will be hard at work training to get her body into the frame she wants. 'Working the base form should make the knight form even stronger.' She thought.

Later that night, Kasumi was standing in the hallway with Ace by their rooms. She took him into a hug, but her stomach stopped it though he hugged her all the same. They got ready for bed and Ace had a plushie of Kasumi in her knight form with him. It reminded him of his sister, but also as a hero before then. It was a special friend to him when he was truly alone.

"Goodnight, nee-chan." He whispered to the doll unknowingly if his sister heard him or not.

A day at the beginning was a bad day, but turned better in the end. What will come next?

Like before, some of the old chapter was kept in for the new. Most of it was thrown out. The next chapter will be made from scratch, but will try to have the same quality.

Kasumi: Why am I getting fat from Kaa-chan's cooking?

Me: It's most likely to add more to your body frame, but once you start training….It will turn out better.

Kasumi: Why do I have a blank card like Rika-chan?

Me: Rika's card will be used farther in the future than yours.

Kasumi: And my card?

Me: It will be revealed in the future in the fight against the first boss, the vampire leech. Your real evolution with your powers don't happen till further in, but not as far as Rika. I hope the revamp version is better to read, but just let me know.
