Gotham, The Hall of Justice
Batman let's our a sigh after hanging up the call with Reed Richards.
"Everything okay Bruce?" Asked Ryan.
"Everything will go according to plan as long as everyone does their job." said Bruce.
"That brings another order of business. Who stays and who goes?" Asked Clark.
"We all stay. This fight is theirs. All we can do is send them on their way" said Diana.
"Speaking of which. How are we doing Victor?" Asked Bruce.
"Working on the final logistics for the Boom tube destination. Should be finished within the hour" said Victor.
"Good. The rest of us will stay behind and hold off Kang's forces while Ryan joins her team." Explained Bruce
"You guys are you'll be alright?" Asked Ryan.
"We got this. Nothing we can't handle" assured Arthur.
"Totally! I hope..." adds Billy.
On the Waverider after stopping to pick up J'onn and Courtney, everyone had the briefing to quickly catch up on the plan.
Meanwhile Sara who had the ship on auto pilot was starting to train again doing everything from pull ups, sit ups etc. Albeit failing miserably.
Ava walks in on her former lover and Co captain watching her sweat bullets trying to get back into fighting shape.
"Sara?"
"*grunts* Yeah?" Sara struggled
"You think we can talk?" Asked Ava
Sara then collapsed on her ass exhausted and gasping for air while laying on her back.
"Sure just...*panting* give me a little bit"
Ava hands her a bottle of water with Sara struggling to sit up.
"Little help?" Sara asked with her hand out
Ava struggled and lifted Sara up to a sitting position, then sitting down next to her.
"What's up?" Asked Sara.
"I'm just surprised that you're here." said Ava.
"Yeah well, I could keep sitting on my ass eating snacks and drinking beer anymore. Had to get off my ass." Explained Sara chugging water.
"I know it's been a rough couple of years for you. For us. And you know I was right there with you up until I just couldn't any longer" said Ava.
"Right. Because look where that got you" said Sara patting Ava's belly.
"Right. Look where it got the both of us. After Peter, Mick, Nate. It took a toll on all of us. Worst of all you. If any of us even knee what was going on in your head and how you were trying to cope with it all..."
"Ava...all I have left now is bringing back Peter. Saving the world again. Honoring the memories of Mick and Nate. Then go back to what we do best" said Sara.
Ava then smiled and wrapped her arm around Sara sharing a brief moment of the calm before the storm.
"We really got a Lotta work to do Sara."
"Yeah. We gotta bust through that dome, free our friends over at Warworld, get an alien made of black goo, bring back Spider-Man from the dead and topple an all powerful Conqueror." said Sara.
"Well yeah that...but I mean losing all this weight too. Clearly shaking up with you all that time made me realize the more I ate, the hungrier I got and so on and so forth. A cycle so to speak." Explained Ava.
"Well if it's any consolation, you still look pretty hot. Probably hotter too." said Sara.
Ava laughed it off.
"The feeling is mutual Babe"
The two share a kiss.
"At least none of us have to worry about one being too heavy for the other anymore." said Sara.
"I'm sure sometime after this is over we'll definitely get our fat butts into shape but for now we have the mission at hand first." Explained Sara.
"Good because I'm starting to get a little hungry" said Ava
"Yeah me too" said Sara.
"Alright help me up now" said Sara asking for help.
"Captain Lance, Captain Sharpe! We're approaching Gotham City." said Gideon.
"Here we go" said Ava still holding Sara's hand.
Back in New York, The Spider-verse began their mission as they headed to the source of the merge still with the Totems safe by their side.
"Okay. Let's hope which reality we'll land on first to find the last two Peter Parkers." Explained Peter-4
"Everyone ready?" Asked Miles.
The team nods yes one by one knowing from here on out, there's no going back.
"Let's go" said Peter-3
