I groaned as I woke up. My eyes darted around the room. I took everything in – the mirrors, the purple lights, the TV... I didn't remember where I was or what happened the night before. I was a bit concerned.
I was taken out of my thoughts when I heard a heartbeat and realized my head was on something warm and soft. Groaning, I slowly pushed off of the bed until I was on my hands and knees. I looked down on what my head was on – or rather, who.
"Haru-kun…" I whispered. I watched her, seeing her sleep while wearing my shirt. She looked so peaceful, so relaxed.
That's when it all came back to me – Haru being abducted, Gouhin and I laying waste to the Shishigumi just to get to Haru, me fighting and severely injuring the Shishigumi's boss to rescue her, Haru and I having dinner together and missing the train, and us renting a hotel here…
…and us kissing.
I felt my tail wag and I smiled slightly. That smile faded when I realized that we needed to head back to Cherryton. I sighed. I didn't want to wake her. I didn't even want to leave here. If I had it my way, we would have stayed here and just… I don't know… talk, kiss some more… maybe even…
I felt my face heat up. Who was I kidding? I wasn't ready for that. Not yet anyway. I huffed out a breath before I lowered my head towards her. I brought my tongue out and softly licked her cheek and over and over again until she started to stir. I raised myself on knees and sat as she brought arms out for a stretch. She groaned before she lowered her arms and looked up at me with those black eyes that often made me stare in wonder.
"Hi," I said quietly with a smile.
"Good morning," she said, returning my smile. She then sighed. "We have to go, don't we?"
"I wish we could stay." I looked around the room, taking in every detail once more. "…We can come back here if you want, one day.
"Maybe." With a groan, she sat up and tilted her head. "Hey, Legoshi… turn around for me." I looked at her quizzically, but I complied. I turned around on the bed, putting my back towards her. Some moments later, I felt her hands on my back, sifting through my fur. I bowed my head and closed eyes, enjoying her touches. This went on for a few minutes until I felt her chin on my shoulder and her arms wrapped around as best as she could. "Was it all worth it?"
I raised my head and turned just enough to the right so I look at her. "…Yes," I replied. I took a moment to gather my thoughts. "I've had feelings for you since that day in the garden and realized it the night we walked after we ate together. What happened last night… I never thought I'd fight a whole gang to get to you… let alone ever in my entire life." I allowed myself to smile at the ridiculousness of it. "But I wouldn't change anything about last night."
"Even the part where I tried to feed myself to you?" Haru asked. There was a hitch in my throat as I suddenly looked forward, eyes going a bit.
"Well…"
Haru merely chuckled before she kissed my cheek. "It's funny how easy I can fluster to you," she commented. I leaned to my right and looked at her. She took that opportunity to rub her chin across the top of my muzzle. After that, I could smell her scent coming from my face. She looked at me with that smile of hers that melted my heart a hundred times over. "…Legoshi… thank you… for putting up with me."
"Thank you… for not being too scared of me," I replied. I leaned forward and planted a kiss on her lips. She reciprocated, and we remained kissing for some seconds. Haru then pulled away and sighed dejectedly.
"While I enjoy kissing you, if we don't leave now, I'd be too tempted to pick up where we left off last night. And then we'll really be reported missing." With that, she hopped off of the bed. "Do you mind if I use the shower first?"
"Not at all," I replied. I watched her as she disappeared into the bathroom. I then smiled as I lay myself on the bed and looked up at the ceiling.
