"Let it go! Let it go!" Princess Melody sang at the top of her lungs as she skated across the glittering ice Aunt Elsa made just for her.

Queen Elsa smiled and applauded Melody on how good her ice ballet was. Melody squealed with laughter and tackled Kristoff to spin her around in circles. Anna quietly laughed as Melody made her father spin faster and faster until finally he fell and laid down on the ice, his booming laughter filling the town center.

"Come on, Daddy! The moon's awake! So we have to play!"

Anna giggled so Melody held on tightly to her hand instead. She didn't need any help skating, but she liked skating together.

"Come on, Mommy! Let's skate!"

The pair stopped just in front of Elsa, who had been giggling the whole time, and Anna swiped a flurry of snow at her.

Elsa covered her face and crouched down a little, still laughing. This time Melody joined in.

"Ha ha! Auntie got snowed!" She taunted and threw a snowball at her.

Elsa hugged her and pulled her to the snowy ground.

"The cold doesn't bother us, does it?"

"No!" Melody shouted gleefully.

Elsa helped Melody stand back up and crouched on her knees so they were the same height. "Melody, I have a special gift for you."

Melody squealed. She loved surprises and the best surprises were magical surprises.

"Why don't you tell me your favorite thing in the whole world, just whisper in my ear."

"Oh, I think I can do that!" said Aunt Elsa, after hearing Melody's request. "Just give me a second since I've never done anything like that before," she said with a wink.

Elsa thought for a moment, and took a sip from the thermos next to her.

"Ok? You ready?"

"Yeah!" shouted Melody, full of excitement and ready to be amazed.

Elsa moved her hands in a circle, shooting small pieces of ice into a ball, shaping it, pulling it from the top and bottom as Melody squealed with delight.

"Autie! It's pink! How is it pink!?" Melody jumped up and down. She had never seen Elsa make colored ice before, and it was even more exciting to see her favorite color. It was as much a gift to see that as it was to see the ice sculpture she knew was close to being formed.

Finally, Aunt Elsa placed the light pink flamingo ice sculpture, almost as tall as Melody into her arms, and Melody hugged it close.

"Elsa! That's so cool! How did you do that?" Anna asked.

"All in good time, Sis. All in good time," she said with a smirk.

"You know I don't have that kind of patience!" Elsa cackled as she so loved teasing her sister.

Melody shoved the pink ice flamingo into Anna's arms.

"Cold, cold, cold, cold, cold!" Melody ignored her mother's objections, but Kristoff took the flamingo in one arm while the other took his wife in a warm embrace.

Melody then dragged Elsa onto the ice and stood in front of her, holding her hands. Elsa knew exactly what Melody wanted so she grew ice around their wrists so she could hold on tight.

"You know, Sis, if you're cold, just take a sip from my thermos." Elsa smiled and winked at Melody, who quietly giggled, knowing her aunt was up to something.

Elsa spun around in a small circle, gradually picking up speed. Melody's legs came off the ground and the icy air lifted the light brown braid Elsa had styled for her that morning. Her grey-glue eyes, almost the shade of Elsa's, glittered against the white snow backdrop.

Anna coughed and spat out everything she had just put in her mouth.

"Don't like it?" Elsa asked. She nearly dropped Melody from laughing so hard.

"Hey!" Melody pouted, so Elsa refocused and picked up the pace.

"What kind of tea is this? And why is it cold? Never mind, I know why it's cold. But why is it so sour?"

"It's pink lemonade, silly!"

Melody's face brightened so Elsa gently lowered her down and melted the icy braces. Melody skated feverishly to the edge of the ice and gulped the rest of the contents of the thermos down.

"Mmmmm! I love the taste of pink!" She took her flamingo back from Kristoff and pet it's icy feathers.

Kristoff surprised her from behind and she screamed. Before she knew it she was on his shoulders.

"Time for bed, Pinky!" he said.

Melody insisted on sleeping with Pinky.

"But won't you be cold?" Anna asked as she tucked her in.

Melody shook her head side to side. "The cold doesn't bother me anyway, Mommy!"

Once she was left alone, Melody said, "I love you, Pinky!"

Then, in the highest pitch Melody could manage as a whisper, Pinky said, "I love you, too, Melody!"
