Bakugo's POV

Looking at De... Izuku he could see the differences between the boy he knew versus the vigilante who sat on a sleeping bag. Lean but powerful muscles could be seen under the other's shirt. Without his jacket and gear hiding it, it was impossible not to see the differences.

The Izuku he knew just a short time ago did not have the drive to work out. Yet the proof to the contrary was staring him in the face.

That other bastard the one Izuku called Echo was grinning maliciously at him. If he wanted to fight Katsuki wouldn't hesitate to put him in his place. What stopped him was the uncertainty of the others interfering. It would be four on one and even if they didnt have quirks they had weapons.

Echo had called him, Ground Zero. Hadn't he? How did the bastard know what his hero name was going to be? He hadn't told anyone about the name.

Katsuki questioned leaning against a nearby wall rather than sitting, "What made you contact me, Izuku?"

Izuku rubbed a hand down his face as he said, "Listen to what I have to say before interrupting me. This is going to sound impossible but the three of us lived through it. Orion's quirk allows him to remember."

Katsuki had to admit that he was a little suspicious. Code Shadow Spire was not a code he ever thought they used. It was meant to be a joke in case they ever time travelled. A fantasy of children before his quirk came in. Reluctantly Katsuki agreed to hear Izuku out.

Izuku began his eyes distant, "I guess the best place to start would be with a history lesson. To understand our future you must understand the past. As you know about 200 years ago quirks began to appear. With them came the age old question of is this mutation the act of god. Or is it the act of a demon. Many of the first people born with quirks didnt want them. Many born without quirks did."

Katsuki nodded but didnt interrupt. He was slightly curious to see where Izuku was going with this.

Something hardened in the once green now grey eyes as he continued, "In the chaos of our new world two brothers were born. One, the older had the ability to give and take quirks. The other sickly brother was thought to be quirkless. The older began to make an empire selling his ability to have people in his debt. A name started to appear. They called him All For One."

Unconsciously Katsuki shivered at the name. Despite knowing there was no way someone with such a quirk could still be around he felt the trickles of fear. Somehow he knew that Izuku wasnt lying and a part of him wished the greenette was.

"The younger brother didnt like what the older was doing. Constantly he tried to thwart All For One's plans. In the end All For One got tired of his brothers efforts and decided to give him a quirk. The quirk allowed him to stockpile power within his body. However, unbeknownst to either one of them, the younger brother already had a Quirk with no other power than that it could be transferred to another person. The transference Quirk and the power stockpiling Quirk merged into one and from then on became One For All."

Where was Izuku going with this? Why were they having story time about something that happened two hundred years ago?

"The younger brother somehow discovered this. He had a strong sense of justice and he tried to defeat All For One, but given the huge difference in their strength, he failed. The younger brother decided to entrust the Quirk to future generations of Heroes, hoping that they would cultivate One For All and one day put a stop to All For One. All For One sought after One For All and as a result, almost all of the users of One For All fought and were killed by his hand, but not before they each had the chance to pass on the Quirk to a successor so that it could reach the future and elude the villain. All For One attempted to steal One For All twice and failed both times, first from the fifth user and again from the sixth."

More than one user of the same quirk. How did no one know about this before now? How did Izuku learn about it?

Izuku got almost a sad smile on his face as he said, "We both looked up to one of the One for All holders actually."

Wait... what?!

Izuku smiled knowingly, "All Might is the current holder of One For All. At least until our third year of middle school. However our story picks up again in more recent history. Four almost five years ago now All Might went up against All For One. Before you ask his stockpile of quirks has allowed him to live much longer than any human should. Even after facing down All Might. If you remember about years ago All Might disappeared for several weeks followed by Nighteye branching off on his own. There was a villain fight right before that. One that no one lived to record so it was never public record. This fight was the last All For One versus All Might before our first year of high school. The fight left All For One without an upper face. Until the USJ of our first year of high school he will stay mostly off the radar. All Might didnt leave unscathed either. All Might lost most of his stomach and his left lung. From that time on All Might had a lowering time limit that he could use One For All. From then on he had to start looking for a successor."

Katsuki watched in concern as Izuku's hands clenched in front of him. There was something dark and terrifying in those green eyes. He wondered what his childhood friend was seeing. Time travel if that's what really happened.

How far from in the future had he come back from? What was he trying to prevent? Was it the future he was seeing? Maybe it wasnt time travel but a late blooming quirk. Or one given. That would explain Izuku's intense hatred of All For One. That would not explain the other three however.

Izuku continued causing his friends' faces to darken dangerously, "Nothing interesting happens after this for several years. My story picks up in our final year of middle school. Ten months before the entrance exams for UA, you found out I was planning on taking the heroics exam. That day you burned my 13th Analysis book and said something that would put out the dying embers of our friendship. You told me that if I wanted a quirk that bad I should take a swan five off the roof and pray for a quirk in my next life."

Katsuki felt all the blood drain from his face. He took a seat on the cold concrete. Why would he do that? As much as he wanted Izuku to stop trying to be a hero that wasnt the way to go. If Izuku took his "advice" Katsuki could be charged with instigating suicide.

"I didnt try," sighed Izuku, "That wasnt even the worst thing that happened that day. After retrieving my notebook I took my usual way home. As I was passing under an underpass I was attacked by a sludge villain. Within a few seconds I was weakened and almost died. I was saved by All Might and even receieved his autograph. However in my naivety I grabbed his leg so I can ask him a question. I asked after finding out about his secret if someone like me could be a hero. His answer was heartbreaking and I almost took your advice after he left. He told me that no the quirkless could not be heroes."

Katsuki wanted to agree with All Might but everything he knew was being thrown out. He didnt understand what had caused Izuku to become like this.

Izuku continued exhaustedly, "After that I returned home and decided to take down everything to do with All Might. I changed my plans and applied to regular high schools. My mom decided to kick me out when I turned 16. For a short time I was homeless before I found a cheap apartment. I heard about the things that happened to your class. Class 1A was declared the cursed class after the third attack. Four of your class was did make it to graduation but you did."

This was too much for him but he still listened, "I was surprised when you contacted me for your graduation. You sent me an invite and in it was a message saying that you knew someone who wanted to meet me. However moments before I was to leave to head to UA for the graduation ceremony you sent a text with our code to run. That something bad was going to happen. That's when the world watched as All For One and his successor Shigarki Tomura attacked. They killed All Might using a creature with multiple quirks called Nomus. Heroes and students alike tried and failed to fight the villains. Those of us who survived named this the Fall."

Izuku scratched at his shoulder where the other's soulmate mark was. It only took a few seconds for Katsuki understand. He was scratching at his soulmark. Izuku had lost his soulmate at the Fall. That meant he was soulmates with a hero or a hero students.

Izuku continued, "The world destroyed itself during the Fall. People panicked in and did terrible things in order to survive. For my part I wasnt worth much. I had to be saved by Best Jeanist one of the few remaining heroes. It was his sacrifice that made me realize that I couldnt just stand by and do nothing. Three years later parts of the remnants of CIRO decided to start a new program. They called it Medusa and they trained the quirkless to fight against the Nomus."

That would explain somethings certainly. Being trained by the intelligence communities meant Izuku could and would kill.

"Five years after the Fall the the groups that were banded together found a new metal buried deep within the mines. It wasn't shiny or pretty to look at but it was sturdy. The problem was in its pure form; it disrupted the quirks around it. That was how they got the idea to turn it into weapons. With the help of quirkless blacksmiths, the newly dubbed Orichalcum ore became weapons: arrows, bullets, and knives. They were indestructible even against a disintegration quirk. Putting even a single arrow or bullet into a person's body would stop any and all quirks. In nomus, it stopped all of their quirks. The weapons turned the tide in their wars because of the newfound ability to kill nomus as quirkless. People were beginning to have hope again. Then we killed One For All and two years after that Shigarki."

Echo was the one who continued after Izuku didnt continue, "Delta had gone out after Shigarki. Once it was confirmed he was killed then Alexander Conklin used a plan he had in place. That plan was what sent us into the past. We weren't sure when we would arrive. Our only plan was to meet up here in Japan and stop Shigarki as soon as possible."

The man, Orion said, "My quirk allows me to remember everything. After his freak out with Best Jeanist, I convinced Delta to give me a chance and in turn you. Ground Zero you made a good hero in training in the future. If you can change now you will make a great one."

Katsuki questioned his red eyes narrowing, "Why tell me now? Why tell me at all?"

Izuku said without looking at him, "It was Orion's idea and I owe you my life. Even if it hasn't happened yet. We have become vigilantes to stop All For One and those who follow him. My best chance will be at the USJ in little more than a year. But first I have to get into UA. As a Heroic Courae student would be best but Gen Ed could work too."

Katsuki questioned his head turning to the side in curiosity, "What do you need from me then?"

Orion answered, "A training partner and another pair of eyes on the streets. We cant be everywhere after all."

"That is if you believe us," interjected Izuku.

Katsuki wanted to think they were lying but he knew Izuku. Even if he was from the future he was a terrible liar. There was no signs that the other was lying. He was telling the truth and that scared him.

He said after a moment's thought, "If I were to help you in exchange I want you to train me. That knife of yours I want one of my own as well."

Izuku agreed easily, "I think I can agree to that. Echo?"

"If you think you can trust him, Delta," replied the older teenager.

Charlie grinned and held out his hand to Katsuki, "Welcome to Medusa. We will have to decide a name for you. But I think you will learn a lot from us and us from you."
