Zach= Charlie

Henri= Echo

Which side is in control depends on which is mentioned.

...

Following him up to the computer room Izuku found Zach and Orion were there too. Both men's eyes were on the computer screen. Zach looked genuinely ill in a way that Izuku hasn't seen since the last hero fell.

Tension was clear in Orion's shoulders. His hazel eyes were dark and worried. Izuku's stomach sank. Out of the four of them Orion had the clearest head. If he was worried something big was happening.

He could not focus on that however. Delta pushed aside the civilian side of his mind. In turn pushing aside the vigilante side as well.

"What's happening?"

Echo and Charlie both shivered at the sound of his cold voice. Once green eyes were now grey. Delta awaited the report of what was happening. What had caused such a reaction?

Orion was the one who answered, "Iz... no Delta there has been a breakout. Villains from several of the local prisons are free. They are terrorizing the city."

"Which ones?"

Orion typed on the computer with swift nimble fingers. It only took a few seconds for files to appear. Izuku only had eyes for rhe faces memorizing who they would need to bring back to justice. They were terrorizing the city. His city. This could not be allowed to continue.

Most of the criminals weren't anything special. They were mostly C listers who on their own could be brought in by local heroes. Together however they posed a large threat. It would take every hero working together to bring them in with minimum casualties. There were just so many of them.

Then there was the exception to the C listers. A villain, Delta had already faced down once. It was Quake an S ranked villain. Under that villains guidance the others could do infinitely more damage. He knew that they would go after those who imprisoned them first. Given no one knew how Delta chose his patrols they would go after the police first.

Delta pulled out his phone and to his surprise he had a message from Jeanist.

AppleBottomJeans: Stay home. Stay at your base or wherever you go when you're not on the streets. Do not get involved in this

For only half a second did he consider the order. Then he shook his head. There was no way that he could standby and do nothing. What he would do was keep Katsuki from joining them.

A quick glance told him that neither Tsukauchi or Eraser messaged him. They were likely to busy with the breakout. There was no way that the vigilantes could stay out of this fight. Not that they would. This was their city.

"How could this happen?" Whispered Echo.

Delta asked his grey eyes blinking slowly at his partner, "What do you mean?"

"This will make news all over the world," explained Echo, "Nothing like this happened before the Fall. How could it happen now? We haven't made any major changes to the timeline. Right?"

It was Orion who answered, "Actually you have. Musutafu didn't have a long time vigilante much less several since Crawler over a decade ago. Every vigilante that tried to make a name for themselves was caught within a few weeks. You have brought in villains that wouldn't see jail for years if at all. Quake is case and point. He killed four heroes and nine police officers before he faced jail in the last timeline."

So they had made some major changes. He didn't realize it at the time. Now he realized that things like this could continue to happen. They would have to be ready.

To the others he ordered, "Gear up!"

...

Naomasa slammed the villain onto the rooftop. He had been chasing this man for the better part of an hour. What had started as a quiet early evening had turned into pure chaos. Naomasa had taken off for the day and only got back to his apartment twenty minutes before the breakout.

Heroes and police alike had all been pulled to aid Musutafu. Quake who was already supposed to be in Tartarus had not yet been moved out of Isengard Jail. A gross oversight that allowed many C list villains to escape. He would find out how this happened when they caught everyone.

Quirk suppression handcuffs were put onto the man under himself wrists. They were both breathing hard from the chase and ensuing fight. Naomasa was not even given the chance to draw his sidearm.

Once the man was secured he pressed a finger to his ear and said into the comms, "Have another one. Send to my location I'll leave him tied to the lamppost across the street."

The dispatcher's voice came over, "Location noted. Nearest car has been dispatched. That the fourth just in the last few minutes. Detective will this end soon?"

Naomasa hauled the man to his feet and replied honestly, "I don't think so. It will likely get worse before it gets better. What is the status of everyone on the streets?"

Loud pops sounded before she could answer. They were coming from just below him. Someone was shooting in the building below him. At what he didn't know but he hoped it wasn't his men. It made him wish he had sent a message off to Delta and his band of vigilantes. What they did might be illegal but the police and heroes could use all the help they could get. Too late for regrets now.

The villain he holds cackled like a hyena sending a chill down Naomasa's spine, "It's over detective! We are going to kill everyone who had a hand in bringing us down. You are going to die detective!"

Truth.

Naomasa felt the cold trill of fear go down his spine. They were aware that it was likely the villains were seeking revenge. To find out murder was the plan was disconcerting. Once more he wished he had contacted the vigilantes.

The man he held continued to laugh and laugh and laugh as shots were fired downstairs. He would have to make his stand here and now. It was unlikely that his back up would arrive in time. Pushing his captive over to the only cover he had he placed himself at the corner where the door opening would prevent him from being seen. He pushed his captive in a sitting position as he drew his sidearm.

As suddenly as it began the shooting downstairs stopped. Naomasa's mouth went dry. He didn't know who had been shooting. It could have been friendlies coming to help him against villains. It could also be villains against villains. He had no way of knowing which was true.

Footsteps were rang against the concrete floor. There was just on set of footsteps. Just one person but that wasnt enough for him. The door to the stairs was then flung open and Naomasa's grip on his sidearm tightened. Who was it? Friend or enemy?

The first thing he saw peek from around the door was a gun. His jaw tightened and his index finger rested against the trigger. The gun was followed by an arm covered in a hoodie. Then it was followed by a torso and Naomasa released a relieved breath. Delta. It was Delta. He moved his finger away from the trigger.

He called out so not to scare the vigilante, "Delta I'm to your right."

The vigilante's head swung towards him and he was surprised by the vivid green eyes. Eyes that for some reason pulled at his memory. Like he was forgetting something important.

"Thank the Kazoo God," came the gravelly voice made unrecognizable by his voice changer, "Detective are you injured?"

Naomass breathed, "No I'm not injured. What happened downstairs? I heard gunfire."

Delta was stiff as he moved to where Naomasa had taken cover. His hands were shaking he realized. Did he remember something? He was prone to flashbacks if what Jeanist said was true.

Flashback to what? That was the question that had been eating at him since that night. What did Delta know that they didn't?

Delta whispered looking at the villain on the ground in handcuffs, "This is my fault. I didn't expect things to change so soon. This was never supposed to happen."

Truth.

What the fuck?

"What do you mean?"

The ground and thus the building shook violently. That was Quake. He was out there searching for Delta and his vigilantes. Naomasa had the feeling he wasn't supposed to hear those whispered words.

Green flickers to grey. Then back to green as if nothing happened. What the fuck was that? Naoamsa had not forgotten that Delta hadn't answered his question.

So he tried again, "Delta," the green eyes met his dark eyes, "What happened downstairs?"

Coolly the vigilante replied, "They are alive if that's what you're asking. Their quirks won't be a problem until the bullets are removed."

Truth.

What the fuck?

Naomasa never got the chance to voice his question. An explosion rocked the building and fire could be seen to the South. Both he and Delta rushed to the buildings edge looking towards where it had come from. To their horror several buildings on that side were demolished or on fire.

Damn it! Why was this happening to the city? No one had attacked Musutafu like this before. Most villains were too afraid of UA and the heroes associated with the school.

When Naomasa glanced at the vigilante he saw the way the man's hands clenched at his sides. His entire body was tense under the baggy hoodie and cargo pants. Instinct screamed at him that this man knew more than he was telling. It irked at the detective that Delta wasn't telling them everything.

Naomasa asked his voice hard, "Delta what is happening? What do you know about this?"

The vigilante looked at him a flash of hurt in his eyes when he replied, "I don't know what you mean, detective. I didn't know this was going to happen."

Lie. Truth.

Delta did know what he meant. At the same time he didn't know this was going to happen. That was something at least. Delta didn't know their city was going to be attacked and did nothing to prepare them. A sigh of relief escaped him.

Then the ground shook again. This time it was a lot more violent. The building they were on was not made of the typical materials. Where newer buildings were built to withstand earthquakes. This one was not.

The violence of the quake caused the parts of the building to crumble. Delta was quick enough to jump back onto safer footing. Unfortunately Naomasa was not so quick on his feet. The roof under his feet gave way and he fell back. Naomasa's arms cartwheels as he tried and failed to regain any sense of balance. He couldn't fall from this height. At best he would break his back and at worst he'd break his neck. Either way it would end his career. His heartrate soared to dangerous levels. As did his blood pressure.

Fear filled his dark eyes as he saw the sky above him. It would have been a clear night if not for the smoke from the fires. He didn't want this to be how things ended. There was still a job to do and criminals to bring in.

To his surprise a gloved hand clasped around the front of his shirt. There was the sound of feet skidding on the rooftop as he was barely stopped from the fall. Looking up he saw the green eyes once more. Again he felt as if he should be remembering something. Something that had to do with those eyes.

Delta grunted with the effort of keeping his grip on the detective. For a moment he thought the man would pull him up. As the seconds passed he realized Delta couldn't. He didn't have the strength to pull Naomasa up. And from his position the detective could see the way the rooftop was ready to crumble. Ready to crumble and take both of them out of the fight.

"Delta," he said his voice hoarse, "You can't pull me up. Can you?"

"I can just give me a second," lied the vigilante his voice straining.

Lie.

Thats what he thought. Delta was many things but he wasn't super human. He didn't have a strength quirk that would be required to pull Naomasa up from this angle.

"Delta..." He didn't get the chance to say anything else.

Strength that he knew didn't come from Delta hauled them both up and away from the edge. Delta turned to look at the unexpected rescuer. Naomasa blinked in surprise as he recognized Hawks. The Number 3 Hero had saved Delta from having to make a choice.

"Penguin," dully said the vigilante. "I didn't expect you."

Truth.

What the hell? Why did he call Hawks, Penguin?

Hawks pouted, "Why are you so mean to me? What have I ever done to you?"

Delta snorted, "You tried to kidnap me to a hospital. Isn't that enough of a reason?"

Truth.

"You were hurt!"

Truth.

The two continued to bicker and argue making Naomasa's head hurt. Especially as his quirk continued to ping its opinions on the subject. Why did he have the feeling he was dealing with children? No matter what anyone said he would forever believe that Hawks was nothing more than an overgrown child. Though he did think better of Delta.

Turning so he could get a better look at the vigilante as his heartrate slows and his blood pressure went back to safe levels. Taking in everything about the vigilante he realized just how short Delta was. He was well below average for a teenager much less an adult. Not only that he was skinny if Naomasa had to guess he barely weighed a hundred pounds.

What really caught his attention was the green eyes. He knew those eyes. He had seen them before.
