There was deadly silence stretched on for a while.

Harry didn't really expect to know what necklace they were talking about. But as it turns out, he is not alone on this matter. The only people who looked like they understood were Chiron, Annabeth, Piper, Hazel and some of their half siblings. Even then, everyone still looked on in fear.

"The Necklace of Harmonia." Chiron tried the phrase. It was something foreign, something that left a bad taste on your tongue. "Are you sure?"

Piper nodded. "He IMed us before we got into Hogwarts. Said that he knew where Harry was and would hunt him down." She waved it away. "But that's not important. I saw the Necklace."

Annabeth raised her eyebrows skeptically. "Are you sure?"

"I saw it too." Hazel told her. "I felt it. It's cursed."

"What's the Necklace of Harmonia?" Percy cut in.

"A Necklace that once belonged to Harmonia," Annabeth answered. Percy rolled his eyes and dodged the playful swat his girlfriend was going for. "Harmonia was Aphrodite and Ares' daughter. Hephaestus, mad at Aphrodite, gave Harmonia the Necklace for her wedding gift, but it was cursed.

"It gave Harmonia eternal youth and beauty by cleansing her soul, but it triggered hubris. It made you think that you were better and above all others. It turned you into the one thing worse than you: your biggest fear."

Piper confirmed the description. "The Necklace wasn't supposed to be passed down or anything. It belonged to Harmonia, who didn't deserve to be turned into a snake."

"So if Voldemort has it, he would be eternally beautiful and young?" Harry asked.

"No, actually." Annabeth frowned. "The Necklace only works on females."

"He modified it to work on everyone." Hazel said. "With magic."

Harry was confused. "Voldemort's biggest fear would be dying, right? He had all those Horcruxes to make sure it didn't happen. Would he die or live?"

"Live, until hubris takes over." Annabeth answered.

By then, the Aphrodite kids were talking amongst themselves. "How dare they use Harmonia's Necklace!" and "It's supposed to stay in the family!" were heard.

Chiron and Annabeth ignored this, but Piper seemed to agree with her siblings.

Unbeknownst to the group and Harry, the children of Hades and Pluto were having their own private discussion back in their cabin.

"So," Ginny closed the door behind her as she walked in.

Nico took out some french fries from a drawer. "The Necklace of Harmonia. It cleanses souls."

The three of them looked at each other, knowing what the others were thinking.

"For Harry," Hazel broke the silence.

Nico nodded. "If we can get it on Harry, we could detach Voldemort's soul from his. We would have two different beings."

"Then we send Voldemort's to the Underworld. No more Horcruxes," Hazel concluded.

"The question here is how we would get the Necklace off Voldemort. Then we can think of what to do with it." Ginny sighed. "They think Voldemort could die because of the Necklace, but he can't. He has one last Horcrux."

"So what can we do?" Hazel laid down on her bed, rubbing her temples.

Through a mouthful of fries, Nico said, "steal it." This earned him two glares. He put down the container of fries. "Look, we're demigods with ADHD. We don't strategise or plan. I don't know a single demigod who doesn't wing it."

Hazel stared at the dark ceiling looming over her. "Annabeth plans. So does the rest of the Athena cabin, most likely."

Ginny considered this. "I'll go get her," she led herself out to the clearing. It wasn't easy making out where Annabeth was, since she was pretty much in the middle of the commotion going on.

"Annabeth!" Ginny called. Some heads turned, but none were Annabeth's. Percy walked over to her instead.

"Wise Girl's off with Chiron and Piper." He said. "At the Big House. About the Necklace, I think." Percy clasped his hands together and asked, "what do you need? Maybe I can help you."

Ginny almost laughed at the image of Percy in Annabeth's role. "I don't think you can." She settled for saying that with a smile.

"Come on, Ginny. I can help you. What do you need?" Percy persisted.

"Annabeth's smarts."

Percy looked at her with a grin on his face. "You're right, I can't help. If you need Annabeth level brains, go to Annabeth. No one else can help you." Then he looked thoughtful. "Maybe Chiron. Or Malcolm." He paused his train of thought to glance at Ginny, the smile peeking in the corner of his lips. "Don't tell her I said that. She's too proud to take that as a joke."

"So can I go see her or is too busy? It's pretty important," Ginny asked. It was better than to barge in on them uninvited.

"Important? What's the matter?"

"I'd rather tell you all at once." Ginny pulled Percy towards the Hades cabin. "I've got to tell Hazel and Nico that we have a change of location."

As Ginny had predicted, barging into the middle of a discussion wasn't all that approved of, whether the discussion was around a ping pong table or not. Chiron had welcomed them though, and the four of them pulled up seats to discuss the situation of the last Horcrux.

Piper and Percy looked surprised at this, and Ginny could sympathize. Annabeth looked like she already thought something like this would happen, or maybe she just prepared for the worst. Chiron stroked his beard thoughtfully.

"Was this not worth mentioning before?" He asked, not unkindly. It was a wonder how Chiron managed to deal with kids so calmly.

"We wouldn't have been able to do anything about it anyways." Hazel gave their reasoning. "It would only serve to make others panic."

"So, what do you think we should do?" Nico broke the short silence that followed the question.

Annabeth looked at him, eyes looking deep in thought. "I agree that we should take the Necklace to cleanse Harry's soul. I think that would work." There was no higher praise than having your plan acknowledged and agreed to by a child of Athena or Athena herself. "But the hard part is stealing it.

"Voldemort, in order to maintain his youth, would be wearing the Necklace around his neck. The likelihood that one can get close enough to steal it without Voldemort noticing is very close to none.

"So, I propose that I, along with two others, will go and watch him. Note his behavior. If there is any chance, we'll take it."

Piper tapped her foot on the wooden floor repeatedly as a nervous habit. "So… stalking?"

"Technically." Annabeth answered.

Percy groaned. "Not another villain. Why? I don't want to do this anymore."

"That," Chiron chuckled, "is some question and reasoning you should have thought of ever since you set foot in Camp."

Why Nico volunteered to come along to watch Voldemort was beyond himself. But obviously, having second thoughts about going wasn't an effective move when you already went.

Jason, Annabeth and Nico were hidden in the shadows of the dark house Voldemort had taken residence to. Maybe he was here because he's been here before and they needed help navigating through the place, Nico thought. But Annabeth was here with him recently on their trip to kill Nagini.

What had he been thinking, coming along?

Nico shook his head. That didn't matter. Right now, they were focusing on the Dark Lord who was currently sitting at the head of the meeting table discussing something.

Except for Piper, Percy, Chiron, Hazel and Ginny, no one back at camp knew about the last Horcrux. They had decided that they wouldn't tell Harry, or bad things might happen. Their souls might link, for one. If this happens, Harry would know what Voldemort was doing and vice versa. Voldemort could know about the Horcrux in Harry.

Nico didn't know much, he had passed out for the beginning of the trip, but nothing exciting has happened so far. Voldemort was ordering an attack on some muggle neighborhood called Cokeworth or something like that.

Not that Jason and Nico didn't try on multiple occasions to just run in there and stop Voldemort from taking any more innocent lives, but Annabeth insisted they stick to the plan. They can't be spotted, otherwise they would ultimately never win.

It was late into the night when anything out of the ordinary happened. Voldemort was in his room, getting ready for bed. That almost makes him sound human, no? As if he were an average adult in their pajamas sitting on their bed in their dark room, the only light source being their bedside lamp. Skimming through a couple pages, reading himself to sleep. But Voldemort's nightly routine was him in his long, black, floaty robes, casting what Nico thought to be protective wards around his bed.

Behind the Dark Lord, a sudden glowing bright light appeared. At first, Nico thought that it was one of the effects of the wards, but Annabeth reached up and covered his and Jason's eyes.

Now, what bright light can he or any mortal not gaze upon? A god or goddess' true form. What god or goddess would show up in Voldemort's quarters this late at night? The only one interested in Voldemort: Hecate.

His answer was confirmed when he heard Voldemort say "Lady Hecate. What a… pleasant… surprise."

His hesitance in the positivity of the goddess' visit went completely ignored. "I know you have the Necklace."

No greeting, no 'hi, how was your day?' Not even towards her own allies.

"I do. Ingenious, isn't it?"

"No. Not ingenious." Hecate stormed over to Voldemort, making him take a couple steps back. "You don't know what you're messing with. You are currently holding the ancient curse, not suitable for those with more mortal blood than godly."

The look on Voldemort's face was priceless when he was called a near mortal. Hecate continued with her rant, reaching out and wrapping her hands around the said necklace. "One wrong move and you would be dead. This… this thing, it induces hubris in its wearer. Then, as if to prove a point, it turns you into your worst fear, demonstrating how there is always something bigger, more powerful than you. Something that has ultimate power over you."

"I have my Horcruxes. I cannot die."

"The Necklace works in the most mysterious ways."

Voldemort's eyes widened, his nonexistent eyebrows raising up to his nonexistent hairline. His lips were thinly shaped, but they always were anyway. "What do you suggest?" He finally asked.

Hecate's voice lowered to a mere whisper. "Return it to where you found it by midnight in three days. I will check upon it at that exact time. If it is not there by then, Potter will not be the death of you."

Voldemort, being the wizard he was, asked, "midnight of where?"

"Here."

"Oh- okay. I'll make that happen, Lady Hecate. Safe travels back to your place on Olympus." The last part was clearly meant to subtly dismiss the goddess.

Hecate turned around, ready to teleport back, but looked back and said, "Voldemort, dear, put the potion to low boil. The poor cauldron's over boiling so much." She pointed to the cauldron on the potions table Voldemort had set up. "Good bye. I sincerely hope I find the Necklace back in the mess you found it in."

This was it. This was their opening. Voldemort was going to put the Necklace back where it belongs - Nico didn't know where that was, but they have Annabeth, so things would be fine - and they would have an opening. Three days before Hecate checked on it. Well, three if Voldemort were to put the Necklace back there right away, which probably wouldn't happen.

Hecate vanished into the shadows, slipping out of sight. Voldemort walked to the cauldron Hecate had made a remark on and pointed his wand to the fire burning on the candle beneath it.

"Is Hecate incapable of doing it for me?" Voldemort muttered. "So apparently she can criticize my excellent potion making skills but she can't fix it for me."

The fire died out as if blown by a gust of wind. The room went completely dark for a few seconds as Nico heard the bubbling potion fizzing out. "Incendio," Voldemort whispered. It surprised Nico that the Dark Lord would rather verbally speak the words, as opposed to nonverbal spells. The candle lit up again with a small flickering flame.

Back at the camp, Jason recounted the run in with the goddess of magic.

"So we have this open time slot to steal the Necklace?" Ginny clarified.

Jason nodded. "Voldemort was to return the Necklace to where he found it. Do you know where it was last?" The last part was dedicated to Chiron mostly, but Jason still glanced around hopefully.

The centaur shook his head. "Unfortunately, the Necklace was stolen out of the Temple of Athena in Delphi. The Necklace of Harmonia was put there for safe keeping, but got stolen a couple hundred years back. Tom Riddle must have stolen it from the last owner."

From the corner of the room, Annabeth clicked her tongue. "That's it. All I need to do is ask my mom for a list of people who visited the Temple. And Chiron, when exactly do you mean 'a couple hundred years back'?"
