"Ahhh!"

"Anakin!" Padme, apprehensive of her husband's scream, sat up in the bed and looked directly into the blue iris that she loves so much. She knew there was something wrong yet she also knew that it was hard for her husband to articulate what he was feeling, but she was quiet waiting for him to gain control of his emotions.

Anakin

My entire body shook uncontrollably, and I was sweating excessively. Absentmindedly, I brushed a hand over my chest where many reminders of my days of torture were still present. Gently my loving wife placed her soft arms around mine distracting me from the memories and giving me the comfort that I always got from her touch.

Three years have passed since I was rescued from the grasps of the soon-to-be-former Chancellor of the Republic, by my family. Nightmares continued to haunt me after that abhorrent event they had become less frequent over the years. Not many Jedi knew what happened to me during that time even less knowing that I've disappeared as well as broken the nonattachment rule.

"I'm all right Padme, it was just a nightmare."

"Nightmares are becoming less frequent, that's good." I would always scare her when I awoke from the nightmares, but this would be going on for a while.

"They are, but I'm sure that they won't stop until Sidious is dead." Padme nodded her head and the two of us laid back down on the bed ready to return to peaceful dreams. Each of us knew that the Jedi Council was carefully making a plan that would entrap the 'good Chancellor in his tracks however he was a slimy fellow, as such they were having no luck in their endeavors. Enjoying the silence the two of us cuddled closer together savoring the warmth shared.

That was the way until two warm bodies jumped into our beds, we had to laugh as our twin troublemakers always brightened up our days and night with their antics. As they were also forced sensitive they would always know when I was having a nightmare even before I screamed. Both of them were hugging their favorite toys close to them at night. These were always the toys they slept in. For Leia, it was always her doughnut hair princess doll, and for her brother, it was a stuffed tontha. The two of them laid down in between the two of us.

"Daddy, you ok?" My princess was very curious for her age, but in the back of my mind, I had a notion that when she gets older, she would be just like her mother. Since she is my daughter she might have my temper.

"I'm all right princess, daddy just has a bad dream." Leia smiled at me then snuggled in between her mother and me alongside her brother. I looked at Luke and knew that he would have his mother's common sense enough to combat my genetic capability for recklessness a few moments after the two of them were asleep. Yet a presence at our door wanting to join in.

"James, come on in." Bright happiness came from my little nephew as he joined in the pile nearly pushing me and Padme off the bed.

"Thank you, Uncle Ani."

"You're welcome James, you are part of the family and nothing will ever change that."

"I'm worried about Mommy and Daddy." Obi-Wan and Athena visited James whenever they could without drawing suspicion from the unsavory eyes yet it had been a few months since their last visit.

"Tell you what we'll call them tomorrow and see how they are doing." They left something for him from the last time they were just in case this situation ever came up. My sister and my former master love their son and as much as they wish they could switch places with Padme and me, it was just too dangerous. Someone still needed to fight the good fight for the galaxy to become a better place to raise all of our children in.
