Lily groans and grips her cup of coffee a little tighter. "Oh, this is like something out of a nightmare," she says with a heavy sigh, watching as Sirius carefully swaddles Harry in the pastel yellow baby blanket. "Oh, his shoes!"

Sirius snorts. "I've got them. Don't worry, Lily."

It's easy enough for him to tell her not to worry. Lily can't help thinking that someone would have to be out of their mind not to worry about something like this.

"C'mon, Lil," James says, affectionately ruffling her hair. "Everything will be fine."

She rounds on her husband so quickly that she spills a little coffee in the process, leaving a small puddle of milky drink between them. "Don't tell me everything will be fine, James Potter," she says, her voice low and dangerous. "You know this is a big deal!"

"And Harry is in perfectly capable hands," James counters, offering her a reassuring smile. "I know Sirius might be a little rough around the edges—"

"Oi!"

"—but you know how much he loves Harry. He'll be as vigilant as can be."

Lily sighs and shakes her head. Of course Sirius will be careful. She's the way he acts with his godson, the love and care he shows Harry. Besides, all that aside, she knows Remus will be with Sirius this weekend, and Remus has always been more responsible than the other three combined. Harry will be okay.

Still, it's hard to let go. It's his first time away from her for more than a few hours, but Sirius insisted that she and James need some time to themselves. As much as she'd like to argue, she knows he's right; Lily loves being a mother, but it's exhausting.

Sirius carefully lays Harry in the sidecar of the motorbike. Lily hands James her coffee and moves forward, grabbing Harry's shoes from Sirius and putting them on her son's feet. "You be good for your uncles, Harry," she tells him. She knows he will, of course. Harry is such a precious child, the best. Still, it's the first time he'll be away from her like this, and she can't help but fret. "Mummy and Daddy love you very much, my sweet boy."

"C'mon, Lily," Sirius says softly. "At this rate, you'll have me here all weekend."

"Sorry."

James appears at her side, reaching down and playfully grabbing Harry's left food. "See you soon, kiddo."

With that, James gently pulls Lily away. "I know," he assures her. "It feels weird for me too."

She looks at her husband with raised brows. "It does? I thought you were fine with it."

"I am. But that doesn't mean it doesn't feel weird. A whole weekend to ourselves… No bottles. No waking up at three in the morning. No stinky nappies."

Lily chuckles. "It's definitely different. I've forgotten what that's even like."

Sirius offers them one final wave before mounting the bike and starting it. Lily leans against James, cuddling into his side as she watches Sirius fly away with Harry.

Once they're gone, James wraps a warm arm tightly around Lily. "It's a pretty day," he tells her, kissing her forehead. "How shall we spend it?"

Lily presses a quick kiss to his lips. "Hmmm…. Lunch? A Muggle film?" she suggests. "I miss our little cinema dates."

"Your wish is my command."
