"Where are we going?" Daphne asks, and she can't help but laugh as Blaise holds her hand and leads her along.

He's always been quiet, but this is too much, even for him. Daphne notices the bag he carries, and it makes her curiosity go wild. What is he hiding? She supposes it isn't like he's actually hiding anything, but secrets and surprises always get the best of her. She just needs to know.

Blaise laughs and glances at her, a grin curling the corners of his lips. "Impatient little thing, aren't you?" he teases.

She rolls her eyes. "Like you didn't already know that," she counters, her tone light and teasing.

They keep walking, the silence almost maddening. The park isn't particularly crowded today, but Blaise treats every spot like it isn't enough, like it isn't quite right. Daphne wishes she could get inside his head and know what he's thinking, but Blaise is nearly impossible like that.

It feels like forever before they finally come to a stop at a place on the edge of the park, right at the treeline. It's quiet, private, exactly the sort of place Blaise would have chosen. "We've been together for a while now," he says, letting go of her hand and dropping his bag to the ground.

"Five years," she confirms. "Feels like forever, doesn't it?"

Blaise doesn't answer. He busies himself with the bag, pulling out a sheet and laying it on the ground. A carton of vanilla ice cream comes next, followed by a thing of plump blueberries, two of Daphne's most favorite things. She feels her heart race. Blaise is sweet, but he's never been the type to plan something so romantic, not unless it's important.

He straightens his posture and pulls something from his pocket. Daphne swallows dryly. It's the most beautiful ring she's ever seen, a thin silver band with diamonds and emeralds. "It's always been you," he tells her. "From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the only one for me. Will you marry me?"

She wraps her arms around him, kissing him fiercely. "Of course, I will!"

He slips the ring onto her finger, and her heart flutters and races, and she's never felt so excited and anxious all at once. All she wants is to be by his side, to spend the rest of her days happy with him and only him.

"I love you," he says. "Let's eat."

These are the moments Daphne loves the most. She sits beside Blaise, comfortable and content, happier than ever, laughing as she tosses a blueberry at his mouth, only for it to hit his nose and drop to the ground. This is her life now, her future, and she has never wanted anything more in her life.
