Chapter 2
Izuku moved quickly through people on the sidewalk, tears running down his face, before he knew it. He was subconsciously heading to the junkie beach that he knows so well. He was bent over, breathing heavily towards the ground exhausted, then he wiped the tears from his face with his hand. The only reason he wanted to come here was because it was quiet, and isolated because nobody comes here unless they want to dump something. Since he's been there so many times he's built a path for himself so he can get deeper into the trash without climbing, so he walked until he got to the dead end of the path. He cleared some of the scraps of metal, syringes, and broken glass in the ground before he sat down. He took out the magical elixir that would allow him to use magic, with tattoos. Izuku takes a deep breath, and out before chugging the drink down. It tasted like ink, and he wanted to throw up, but he held it in, chugging every last drop of it. Izuku's skin felt like it was being pricked by a thousand needles rapidly, he fell to his knees from the pain. He couldn't hold it anymore, and started screaming. The scream echoed out across the valley of trash, it became difficult for him to breathe.
"Hello are you all right, did you cut yourself on the scrap metal?!"
A very young female voice, question loudly from the valley of junk. Then he hears footsteps, and junk being moved heading his way.
Izuku's pain finally stops, and he's able to relax himself. He makes his way to his books. He quickly puts some in the bag before running down his pathway. While he was running down his pathway, he slammed into a pink haired girl, and knocked themselves to the ground. They both fell to the ground luckily for them the soft sand cushion most of their fall.
"Geez."
Izuku weezed out in pain. Izuku was the first to rise to his feet, he held his head in pain. He took a second to look around to see what he ran into, then he saw a pink haired girl sprawled out on the sandy ground. Izuku's face went pale like a ghost.
"Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod I killed a girl what am I going to do. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Wait, calm down calm down calm down she's fine right, um wait should I check if she's fine." A hand came out, and grabbed him by the shoulder during his mumbling. He turned to see the pink haired girl. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh she's a ghost!"
He screamed out so loudly, the pink haired girl had to cover her ears. She had enough at this point after being knocked to the ground, and screamed as she pulled her leg back and slammed it right into the boy's family jewels. Izuku's screaming stopped, but it was replaced with blinding pain. He fell to his knees, his eyes started to water, he felt like his stomach wanted to throw up the remainder of his breakfast this morning.
The pink haired girl with her bullseye yellow eyes, realized she went too far, but she had no idea what to do so she just waited for the green haired child to process his pain.
Izuku painfully muttered, some words of power causing a green light around his body chasing his pain away. He lets out a sigh of relief from the pain, then he gets on his feet.
"Why did you kick me there!?'
He questioned with an angry look in his eye for the first time in his life.
"It's not my fault, I was trying to be nice to you. First of all you're the one screaming, so I ran here to help you. Second of all, you ran into me, knocked me to the ground, and then started screaming. Third of all, you're mad at me for trying to be a good samaritan."
She barked back at Izuku showing her teeth, and her eyebrows slanted in anger. Izuku takes a step back, being reminded of Bakugou's face, and he starts to tear up. After witnessing the broccoli boy become scared of her, her face softens. Then she realized this boy wasn't all right in the head, so maybe being mean to him wasn't a smart idea.
Izuku didn't want another beating, so he pushed himself past her running down the man-made path through the valley of junk. He kept running, not turning back even though the girl was screaming at him to come back. He focused on running back as fast as he could, back to his sanctum where he could rest in peace.
Mei watches the broccoli boy run down the path. She let out a sigh, and before shaking her head, she walked off back to scrounging for scrap metal. Before she left, she noticed a yellow backpack with an All-Might keychain on it. She picked it up, and started examining the backpack, noticing tons of bills in the bag. Her eyes went wide thinking of all the materials she could buy, with that kind of cash. She kept going through the bag, and eventually finding a notebook with an address on it, she started reading the notebook, thinking it was a diary but it was all about heroes. She kept going through the notebook, seeing each page having notes on their quirks until she found the last page which had an address. She didn't have any interest in the boy at first, but now he has her full attention.
Izuku burst through his apartment door heading to his room, with his loud footsteps not even trying to be discreet. Luckily for him his mother wasn't home, she was probably at the Bakugou's residence. He stumbled into his room, with his wet shirt stuck to his back, due to the amount of running he's been doing. He didn't want to stay dirty, so he started imagining shifting the tattoo around him to create the arcane symbols he needed. Then he channeled magic into them, and the tattoos started glowing, but nothing happened. He let out a sigh of disappointment knowing that it will take a while, before he could use magic, with these magic tattoos.
Sabrina walked out of the Sanctum in her human form, and looked at her master seeing him covered in sweat. She blurts out a word of power, causing a white light to appear in her hand, wrapping around Izuku's clothes, and drying them.
"So how did the trip go, Master? Did you get everything you were looking for?"
She questions with a hint of curiosity, while her feline's green eyes start observing her master feeling something was off.
Izuku's smiles at his familiar for cleaning him up, and then he notices that she was staring at him. Almost like she was looking for something, he just shrugged it off.
"My trip went alright. The good news is I got all my magical items I wanted, except for the store clerk, being a mean face."
He spoke with a fake smile across his face trying to hide his anger, and frustration at the events that happened today. He thought about it for a second thinking about how the store clerk laughed at him, and the pink haired girl assaulted him. He knew he had to get stronger for nothing like that would happen again.
Then he grabbed one of his old books on transmutation, he opened it, and turned to the page of the spell that he was trying to use. He looked at the magical circle on the page trying to figure out where he went wrong. He knows the spells have components that are needed to cast spells.
For example when he starts mumbling his magical words, it creates a quick flash image of the magical circle in his head, which allows him to cast magic. Through word association with the magical circle a spell is created, or if you're good enough you could even substitute words to cast magic. But the most advanced level casting, with just picturing the magical circle in your head without saying a word.
Izuku shifts the tattoo on to his wrist and looks at the magical circle compared to the one in the book, it was only slightly off by 2 magical symbols. He shakes his head, with disappointment thinking he needs to get better. He starts shifting it to a different spell, and trying to cast it, but nothing happens again. Then he turns to that page, and notices he was off again. Now he starts understanding why it's so uncommon for anybody to have this, because it was so easy to make a mistake. But he wouldn't let that stop him, he buckled down bearing his head into his book, practicing his heart out between each different spell. Most of his attempts were failures without looking, but he kept making slight progress every time.
He wanted to continue but eventually he heard a knock on the door, it seemed his mom was back, so he made it to the door, and opened it with a heartwarming smile. The first thing he saw was a girl his age, with distinct pink hair holding on to a yellow backpack, and a notebook cradled in her hand that readed Hero Analysis for the future.
Izuku's eyes went wide, focusing on the girl remembering the pain in his groin. He moved his hand trying to close the door, but a wrench was placed between the door stopping it from closing. He let out a little shriek in panic, before being pushed back by the pink-haired intruder. Luckily Sabrina caught the broccoli boy before he fell to the ground. Sabrina gets the broccoli boy onto his feet, then proceeds to give a death stare to the person attacking her master, the pink haired girl seeing this shot one of her own back at her. Sabrina instinctively hissett before leaping at the pink-haired girl with hands, the bullseye's girl grabbed the wrench that was jamming the door, and got ready for a fight.
"Both of you please stop fighting!"
Izuku begged while bitter tears ran down his face, without even knowing it his magical aura released, causing a swirl of green magical energy to wrap around his body. The magical energy shoots out in the chaotic wave causing havoc to the apartment, shattering the windows in the vicinity, and shattering the furniture. The two girls are stunned after witnessing the magical powers that Izuku released, both of them covering their faces with their arms in a defensive manner. The only thing that could be heard in the apartment was heavy breathing which was coming from Izuku, calming himself down from his magical outburst. After a few moments, he finally realized what he did seeing the apartment in ruins, he slowly got up on his feet, and started casting magic repairing the damage he did, with a calm demeanor.
Sabrina and the pink haired girl stared at him wondering, how a boy at such a young age, has so much power. Since Sabrina was distracted by looking at her master, the pink haired girl made her way inside with the backpack of the freckled boy, and sat down on the couch. The feline companion was about to speak to the intruder, but immediately received a glare from her master, causing her to freeze up. She instinctively remained silent, not wanting to anger her master, then she proceeded to make her way towards the Intruder, and sat down quietly.
After about a few minutes of awkward silence, Izuku finished fixing everything he destroyed, he eventually made his way to one of the chairs next to the couch. He sat down and stared at both of the little girls in front of him, both of their bodies tensed up nervously, like a hand was wrapped around their necks, and if they spoke out of term they would be strangled immediately. They both were scared of Izuku, Sabrina for seeing the raw magical power that her master unleashed without even using a spell, she dared not to think about what would happen if he applied focus to his magic. The pink haired girl was scared, because she attacked the boy not too long ago, and now seeing his power she knew that he was going to take his vengeance on her. She knew very well that people with strong quirks rule this world, even at a young age. She can't even count the number of times her inventions were ruined by some idiot with a powerful quirk, and she knew running was pointless as it would always make the beatings twice as hard, so she decided to stay and accept her fate. So they both waited for Izuku to speak.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do anything like this…. I…. I…. saw you two were fighting, and… I didn't know what to do so…um..I lost it. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to make you guys stop fighting before you hurt each other."
He apologized with all the sincerity in his heart, while water burst from his face in a waterfall of tears. The fear from the two young girls immediately vanished, they realized he wasn't mad at them, which relieved both of them and allowed their stiff bodies to relax. The pink haired girl coughed into her hand catching the attention of the crying child.
"My name is Mei Hatsume, future owner of the greatest support course company of all time. Now if you please be so kind as to tell me, what's your name?"
She questioned after her introduction, attempting to converse with the broccoli boy, seeing if she could maneuver into a partnership with him. He tried to get a good look at her through his tears, he ran his arm through his face, moving the tears to clear his vision, so he could get a better look at the girl. His face heated up a bit after getting a look at her, seeing her cute pink hair. He took in a deep breath in and out, relaxing his nerves before speaking to Mei.
"My name is Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you and thank you for returning my backpack. I'm sorry to cause you so much trouble, honestly my quirk has just awakened recently, so that's why I lost control there."
He lied trying to keep his secret, not wanting her to figure out what he could really do. He smiled with confidence that she would just believe his words out right. Mei smiled back with a mischievous grin.
"I don't think you have to lie to me, I know you're a wizard, it's all in this book I read on the way here. You've been a wizard for 3 months studying different types of magic, experimenting with a magic device for storage, which hasn't yielded any results. Which is all very interesting, especially with knowledge that a quirk person cannot produce magic, but apparently in your notebooks there's a way to fix that."
She spoke in a smug demeanor, seeing through all of his lies, and attempts to hide the truth. Izuku's eyes went wide from hearing her words, he remembered he had a notebook of his magic, and like a fool he didn't think anybody would read it. Sabrina stared at her master seeing the panicked expression on his face, she stood up ready to attack, but before that could happen Izuku raised his hand signaling her to stop. Then he turned his attention to Mei, he placed his hand under his chin, and stared at her knowing she was trying to blackmail him. He pondered for a second before a crazy idea went through his head.
"I would only agree if you become my Apprentice, since it would be easier for me to keep an eye on you, and if you accept this I will grant you all the knowledge that I know, and then some. And before you say anything, about being my apprentice, it's only temporary until you're able to stand on your own two feet, after that it's up to you if you want to work with me or not. Deal?"
He explained his convoluted proposal to the blackmailer, hoping that it would be enough to win her over. Mei closed her eyes then proceeded to debate the pros and cons of Izuku's offer. She opened her eyes with a fierce look in her eyes, staring at Izuku.
" The only thing is you should respect me, even if I'm your apprentice that's all I asked for ,and you got yourself a deal."
She suggested that, not wanting to be a puppet to some strange kid, Izuku couldn't help but smile at her response. He agreed to her demands without hesitation, eventually they were able to get rid of her quirk, with a potion Izuku bought at the magic shop mixed in, with a wizard's blood and hers. It takes about six hours for the potion to erase the quirk, it has some restrictions though the person has to be conscious throughout the whole duration, so you can't sleep, also if you willingly fight it the body will repel the magical effect. The potion was created with this safety measure, so no rogue wizard could turn people back to their previous evolution.
She started learning transmutation magic from Izuku, since that was the one she was more interested in. Especially since Izuku suggested that her magic would be her new quirk replacement, it would have to be something she uses quite often. While Izuku is teaching her how to use transmutation magic, he also practices illusion magic, since it would be easier for him to hide from his bullies. Even with his secret almost being revealed he still doesn't slow down at all, always pushing himself to improve his magic, because if he doesn't he will never become the number one hero. Unfortunately that path of becoming the number one hero, will draw more attention than run of the mill villains, something more magical and far more sinister will be waiting around the corner.
