If Austin and Ally found being engaged and trying to hide it on tour to be tough, being at home was even worse!
As soon as the pair had touched down at Miami International Airport, they had been swarmed by an endless sea of reporters and record producers. It was only through the intervention of a bodyguard called Chainsaw that Trish had sent, that the pair were able to get tout of the airport without temporary blindness from the camera flashes.
Right now, the pair found themselves awakening to a bright and sunny day, wispy clouds, emerging in the distance.
'' Mmm, morning hubby-to-be'' Ally grinned, slowly opening her eyes, as she lay on Austin's chest.
'' Morning wifey-to-be'' Austin responded, slowly.
'' Ah, I can't not love it when you say that'' Ally gushed.
'' Good, because I plan on saying it for a while.''
The pair lay together silently for a minute, before Austin broke the silence. '' Well, time for breakfast'' the man shot up, causing his fiancée to tumble to the side of the bed with a yelp.
'' Give a girl a warning before you do that'' Ally said, rubbing her head.
'' Sorry babe'' Austin said sheepishly, helping Ally to her feet.
Currently, Austin and Ally were busy renting a house in an upmarket part of Miami. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small pool and a cottage in the back, the pair definitely got a bang for their buck.
Switching on the coffee maker, Austin took a look at the amazing woman in front of him, it never ceased to amaze him that even after 10 hours of sleep, she could still wake up looking amazing. Not a day went by that he didn't thank God that she had left Gavin Young for him.
'' So, we need to address the elephant in the room'' Ally said, the sound of boiling in the background.
'' Yeah?'' Austin raised an eyebrow.
'' Well, we're engaged, and we haven't told anyone yet. I say we fix that.''
'' Fine, but its not like anyone we know is just going to drop everything they have to do just to spend time with us. We aren't royalty babe.''
'' Still, by the way how would you feel about us telling your parents first instead of mine?''
'' Fine? Why?''
'' Mom's still in Madagascar, and just adopted that, thing Lolo'' Ally cringed with revolt.
'' Aw Lolo. He's so cute.''
'' He looks like if Flower from Bambi was a heroin/crack addict.''
'' Fair enough, but come on, there's got to be another reason you don't want to tell your parents first.''
'' Fine, my dad's currently down in the keys for the Cheapies.''
'' What?"
'' He's going to a convention for cheapskates. Apparently, he got chosen because of Sonic Boom's mandatory patronage policy.''
'' I still can't believe he went that low. Its something that Mr. Krabs would do.''
'' Oh come on, he's not that bad Cute nickname.''
'' Remember our trip to Vegas? With Trish, himself and Jace?''
Ally sighed, pouring two mugs of Javanese coffee. '' Yes.''
'' What'd he do?''
'' He brought a drill with him so he could take the hotel's shower gel off of its wall bracket.''
'' Exactly. But in all fairness, if you want to see my folks, according to Moon's Mattress Kingdom's website, they're closed today, I could always call to see if they're available?''
'' Perfect, oh, hold on'' Ally picked up her phone, which was busy charging on the kitchen counter.
'' Hey Mimi. Yeah, the tour was great, New York, London, Tokyo, the were all amazing. Your son?'' Ally grinned at her fiancé, '' he's amazing. Hey, so listen, we were wondering if you wanted to come over later for lunch? Oh you'd love to, great!''
'' So they're coming?'' Austin asked, ignoring the entire conversation that had been going on the whole time.
'' Yep. Oh by the way, that phone call never actually happened.''
'' Excuse me?''
'' Never rang, you never even heard a dial-tone. I called them two days ago, you never even noticed.''
'' How? We were together the whole time.''
'' Not all the time hubby-to-be. Remember I set you for wine?''
'' You're devious'' Austin gasped. He wasn't used to Ally being so…deceitful.
'' Eh well, being best friends with Trish for 20 years, you pick up a few things'' Ally shrugged, sauntering into the living room, her fiancé just gasping.
-x-
'' There he is, my son the record producer, singer, dancer, actor and model. Jesus , that's a mouthful'' Mimi breathed, as she and Mike made their way into their son and future daughter-in-law's home.
'' Hey mom'' Austin said, hugging his mother.
'' Uhm, the man who you came out of, is still waiting for his hug.''
'' Sorry, hi dad'' Austin said, hugging his father.
'' Ally dear, you look wonderful'' Mimi said, hugging her.
'' Aww, thanks Mrs. Moon.''
'' Ally dear, how many times do I have to tell you, call me Mimi.''
'' Sorry'' Ally said, sheepishly.
'' There she is, the girl who my son had a shrine to until he finally got her to get back together with him for free'' Mike said, embracing Ally in a hug.
'' Hi Mi- I mean, Dad.''
'' There we go. So Austin, I hope you didn't make poor Ally do all the cooking'' Mimi smirked.
'' Hey! I can cook.''
'' Babe, I once saw you put a tomato in the blender because, and I quote, I don't want to go to Safeway on a Sunday.''
'' Ok, but I at least cooked-
'' Or how about when you ordered Postmates and claimed that you made it because the driver had one of our songs playing in his car?''
Austin's parent and fiancée cackled, whilst he just looked ashamed, thinking quickly he changed the subject.
'' So, look, unless you guys are comfortable chatting standing up, why don't we go outside, I have something to show you anyways'' Austin shrugged, motioning for his fiancée and parents to follow him outside.
'' Austin, did you buy a-''
'' Wood burning pizza oven. Yep. In fact, that's our lunch'' Austin smiled cockily, pointing to a huge flat circle of sauce, cheese and toppings near the center.
'' Well good for you son, granted I'm not sure how practical that oven is, but good for you'' Mimi quipped.
'' Hey, well, ever since we bought it last week we've used it 6 times.''
'' Ally's tried to make me try all these weird pizza combos. Like the jungle one'' Austin shuddered, lighting the fire.
'' Oh, come on cute nickname, it wasn't that bad'' Ally defended, sitting down next to her fiancé's parents.
'' Alz, I know we've tried some weird stuff around the world, but bananas, fish and pineapple do not belong on pizza.''
Mike and Mimi laughed. They had never said it out loud, but they had been rooting for the pair to get together ever since they first met Ally.
'' You get your taste from me son. I like things my own way, according to that therapist your mom made me go to, that's a flaw'' Mike rolled his eyes.
'' Hey, Allistair was a lovely man, he truly helped us'' Mimi defended.
'' Did he Mimi, did he? Every second word out his mouth was true and hmm.''
Whilst Mike and Mimi had their feud. Austin and Ally exchanged knowing glances, that they would need to bring up the engagement soon.
-x-
'' Oof, I am stuffed. Austin, you're a really good cook'' Mimi said, sitting back in her seat.
'' Agreed, turns out that couple's cooking class we took really helped huh?'' Ally smiled.
'' Definitely. You two have always been our relationship inspiration.''
'' But Mrs, I mean, Mimi. You're 18 years older than we are.''
'' 17 Allison, but still. You two just click'' Mimi shrugged. '' But there's one thing I need to ask you two'' Mimi said.
'' Yes?'' the pair answered, confused.
'' When's the wedding?''
Austin spat out the soda he was drinking. '' Excuse me?''
'' I found this on the floor'' Mimi held up Ally's engagement ring. '' Its not mine, or your fathers so I put two and two together.''
'' Well, now that the cat's out of the bag. Mom, dad, say hello to your future daughter in law'' Austin said, holding Ally's shoulders.
Mike dug in his wallet and gave a 20 to his wife.
'' What was that for?'' Austin asked.
'' Oh, your mom won the bet. You two are engaged before you turned 26, I owe her 20 bucks.''
'' Well regardless, welcome to the family sweet-heart'' Mimi raised the glass of port she had been drinking.
'' Thanks Mimi.''
'' Forget Mimi, call me mom. We're family now sweetheart.''
Ally smiled from cheek to cheek. Her life as Ally Dawson may be coming to and end, but her life as Ally Moon was just beginning.
Well everyone, what do you think? Sorry if it's a bit shorter than my usual chapters.
Until next time, stay safe and stay awesome!
