Good afternoon Dravenites, welcome to chapter 10! That's right we've hit double digits chapter-wise!

Before I end off, this intro card, a bit of info this chapter takes place like 30 minutes from when the least one left off.

Enjoy!

Poor Austin, Ally hated seeing him sick, what's worse is that she hated being apart from him. It had to do with her separation anxiety, she was almost tempted to barge into the guest room rub herself on him to catch his germs and isolate with him. But she couldn't. Not when there was a much easier alternative.

Ally got off of the living room couch and up to her and Austin's room, opening one of her husband's closets, she took out one of his shirts and took a huge whiff of it. Unfortunately for her, even though she would love to continue doing that for the rest of her weekend, she unfortunately had to take care of the flowers for the wedding. The only problem was that she also had to finish writing some songs for her and Austin's newest album. Argh, sometimes she wished she could just clone herself, but she couldn't. She could however deputize her friends to go flower shopping for her. And that's exactly what Ally intended to do. Going to her nightstand and picking up her phone, the young woman called her best male friend.

'' Alright, lights are ready, actors aren't exhausted or on break, and we're making me richer and action!'' Dez shrieked into his megaphone. Soon the man felt a vibration in his front pocket. '' Ok, I have to take this, just keep…acting.''

'' You don't have to use the megaphone; we can hear you'' a familiar voice called back.

'' You come here too Trish'' Dez called, answering his phone. '' Hey Ally, what's up?''

Ally winced. '' Get rid of the megaphone, I can hear you fine!''

Trish swiped the tool from him. '' Give me that, hey Ally, how's the beautiful bride to be?''

'' Aww, Trish that's so sweet. I'm fine, its Austin who's not well actually.''

'' Oh no, what's wrong with him?''

'' Flu. My poor hubby-to-be is going to be out of commission for a good couple of days. Wait, changing the subject for a second, Trish, what're you doing on Dez's set, you're my marketing director.''

'' Oh that. Doof-I mean, Dez, tell her what's going on.''

'' Right, you see, after the massive success of the Claws dun dun dun movies, more specifically with the role of girl number 2, Clawsters; that's the name I gave the fans of the movies, wanted her to become a more prominent character, so, I borrowed her acting for Girl number 2; Claws' new victim'' Dez explained.

'' Oh, I guess that makes sense, look I need a favor from you two.''

'' Name it'' Dez answered.

'' Well, you see Austin and I were supposed to meet with a florist tomorrow for our wedding, but with him out of commission and me having to not only take care of him but finish more of our songs, I can't go. I hate to be a bother, but can our best man and maid of honor please step in for us? I'll text you the address as well as our order.''

'' Sure'' Trish hung up the phone. '' Oh crap I just realized.''

'' That Santa isn't real? Don't worry, I only found out five years ago, the pain goes away after a while.''

'' Idiota. I meant I just realized that we're right in the middle of shooting this movie, if we stop for the day then we have to move back the world premier date.''

'' Ooh you're right. But, luckily for me, I have a contingency plan. Nelson!''

A lanky older teenager walked over to the director, his round glasses and bad teeth adding to his overall dorkish appearance. '' Yes Mr. Dez?''

'' I have to do some best man stuff for Ally and Trish, some maid of honor stuff tomorrow. I'll confirm details later, but tomorrow until we get back, you're in charge of my set.''

'' Holy crap, I get to be a director!''

'' Yes, you do. Now, go fetch me a coffee. Make it Italian ground roast, if I even taste French vanilla, I will end your career'' Dez hissed.

Nelson winced before dashing off to craft services.

'' You just exercised power over someone lower in rank, I have never been less ashamed of you'' Trish commented.

'' Thanks'' Dez swiped back his megaphone. '' Now back to work!''

The following day found Dez and Trish outside of a small building called Amazonian Florists. Situated between an Arby's and a marijuana dispensary, it was hardly the kind of place the pair would ever picture their best friends getting flowers for their wedding.

Dez chuckled slightly.

'' Why exactly are you chuckling?'' Trish raised an eyebrow.

'' Because this reminds me a lot of when I was filming that horror flick up in Colorado.''

'' Oh right, A world so cold wasn't it?''

'' Yep. Let's get this done'' Dez led his friend into the shop. It was rustic. With some unpainted brick walls, vases with different flower arrangements decorated the store's sides. Behind the pair was a large nursery, presumably where all the flowers were grown. At the counter, Dez locked eyes with a shaggy and unkept hippie, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at the flytrap atop the counter. Clearly, the was high.

'' Hi…Bobby'' Trish greeted, reading his nametag.

'' Heyy'' he answered. '' You guys ever just…relax with that good shit?''

'' Uh, no. I like my brain to develop properly thank you'' Trish answered.

'' Suit yourself. So, what's up?'' Bobby asked, slowly.

'' We're here to finalize an order for Ally Dawson and Austin Moon'' Dez answered.

'' Oh, the pop stars, yeah they called a while ago. They had a really cool request'' Bobby answered.

'' Oh for the love of-look is there someone else we could talk to, a manager or something?'' Trish groaned.

'' Yeah, hold on…Robby! Get your ass out here!'' Bobby yelled.

As soon as he said it, a balding man, clearly in his late 60s emerged from the nursery. '' Yes Bobby?''

'' These two weirdos want to talk flowers and stuff'' he answered.

'' Weirdos? This is Dez Wade, he's a national treasure! And I'm sorry who are you?'' Robby asked, pointing to Trish.

'' I'm Trish De La Rosa. A&A Records marketing director, previously manager to Austin Moon and Ally Dawson, who are you?!''

Robby was taken back. He wasn't usually used to being spoken to so harshly, it wasn't that common in the florist business.

'' Excuse my friend, she has anger management issues. I'm Dez, I see you've heard of me.''

'' Of course I have. Claws dun dun dun is my favorite amateur film. Now, I overheard that you're here to finalize some flowers for your friends?''

'' Yep. Ally Dawson and Austin Moon. They said they already placed an order in?'' Trish raised an eyebrow.

'' Indeed they did. Follow me'' Robby led the pair into the nursery. '' Now, they said that they wanted blue flowers, but they also said something about platinum ones too?''

'' Yeah, I'm no florist, but I'm pretty sure you can't get platinum flowers unless you paint some'' Dez added.

'' You are correct dear boy. However, I do have something a bit more…interesting. Robby pushed aside two large palm fronds revealing a small garden full of orchids, the only odd part being that they had a mild grey tint to them.

'' Holy crap, those look platinum'' Trish gasped.

'' They are…sort of. You see, a few months ago I accidentally cross bred some orchids with some silver-woods , the result is what I like to call; The Amazonian special. Based on your friends' phone call this seems like something they'd be into.''

'' Absolutely it is. But uhm, what about the blue ones, what are we thinking with those?'' Dez asked.

'' Dez…look'' Trish tugged on his sleeve, pointing him in the direction of bright blue roses, growing out of a pot in the corner.

'' Blue roses? Never seen them'' Dez responded.

'' My favorites. You see, most people go for the traditional red or white variety, but I personally love the blue roses. So it that what you're thinking? A mix of Amazonian specials and blue roses?''

'' Guess we are'' Trish breathed. '' We could have a 50-50 split of orchids and roses for the bridal bouquet, orchids could decorate the vases that the hotel is going to have set up.''

'' Right, and Austin could have the roses in the pockets of the groomsmen's blazer pockets. We're actually a good wedding planning team Trish'' Dez smirked.

'' Yeah I guess we are. Who knew you were actually good for something?''

'' Thanks-hey!''

'' Relax ya doof. So Robby, any chance you can these ready by October?''

'' Wow, kind of late notice, but, I think we can pull it off'' the owner shrugged.

'' Great, we're paying now'' Trish smiled, whipping out her black card.

'' Wow, we can't pay for their wedding stuff, that's not ok!'' Dez protested.

'' Fine'' Trish pulled out her phone and dialled Austin's number.

'' Hello?'' he answered, seemingly much better.

'' Wait? You're better? How?'' Trish asked.

'' Good to hear from you too. Now what's up?''

'' Well, Ally sent me and Dez flower shopping, and we can pay now. Dez doesn't want us to, but I was wondering if you'd be ok with it?''

'' Hold on, let me check with my soon-to-be wife'' Austin turned to the left of his bed and gently shook a brunette lump awake.

'' What?'' Ally asked, her nose obviously blocked. The brunette woman had, a few hours ago decided that inhaling the scent of her fiancé's shirt wasn't enough, she needed to be near him, hence why she had barged into the guest room and climbed into bed with him, completely ignoring the fact that he was sick.

'' Trish can pay for the flowers now, Dez won't let her without our permission, are you fine with it?''

'' Honey, she can do what she wants as long as I can go back to sleep'' Ally answered.

'' You heard her'' Austin said, hanging up.

'' That was rude'' Trish said, putting away her phone.

'' Yeah, interrupting Ally's sleep. As someone who sleeps to the point that they might be part cat, you should know better.''

'' Whatever, alright flower man how much?'' Trish asked, staring down Robby who was now behind the counter.

'' Lets see, standard wedding size flower arrangement, blue roses and Amazonian specials, 6 month notice, this is going to come to around… ten thousand dollars.''

Trish shuddered at that amount before looking at Dez. '' Give me, your wallet.''

A week had passed since Ally had deputized Trish and Dez to go flower shopping for her and Austin. Thankfully, Austin had made an amazing recovery really quickly, despite her getting mildly ill in the process.

With almost every aspect of the wedding planning process being completed the only two things left to do, were dress and tux shopping, as well as the bachelor and bachelorette parties, although the latter were strictly Trish and Dez's duties.

Right now Ally was busy at A&A Records' recording studio, busy recording their latest song. That was, until Ally got a phone call from a familiar number.

'' Hey dad, what's up?'' Ally asked cheerfully.

'' Hey sweetie, uhm, I kind of have some news for you'' Lester responded, his voice getting soft.

'' Ok? What is it?''

'' Ok, look I know its super late notice but uhm, I…have a girlfriend, and she's excited to meet you.''

'' Aww, my daddy's in love! That's so romantic'' Ally gushed. '' Wait? I think I know where this is going, you want me to make room for her?''

'' Oh could you, that'd be awesome, thank you.''

'' I mean…I guess Austin and I could make some room, but still, how long has this been going on for?''

'' A few weeks'' Lester exhaled.

'' A few weeks? Why didn't you tell me sooner?''

'' Because, with you're an Austin's new album coming out soon, and with the wedding, you had enough on your plate already. I didn't want to add to that.''

'' You're sweet dad, but I'm a big girl now, I can take care of myself, also, I have a 6'0 fiancé who caters to my every whim.''

'' Still. So, can you do it?''

'' Well…''

'' Allison…''

'' Kidding'' Ally breathed, '' I can, but on one condition.''

'' And that would be?''

'' I want to meet her first.''

'' Seriously?''

'' Of course, I do. She may end up being my new step mom, I want her to be a good fit for my daddy. Now, Austin and I have the night free, show up at our house at 6 sharp, bring wine and this lady-friend of yours.''

'' Yes maám'' Lester answered playfully, before hanging up.

'' So how's your dad?'' Austin grinned from the doorway.

'' Jesus, you scared me!'' Ally put her hand over her heart. '' Don't you knock?''

'' Not when it's my building no.''

'' Its my building too genius'' Ally smirked.

'' Eh fair enough'' Austin shrugged, causing Ally to laugh. '' But seriously, you never answered my question, how is he?''

'' He's fine. He actually has a girlfriend.''

'' Really? That's cool…wait. He doesn't want to bring her to our wedding does he?''

'' He does, but'' Ally pointed a finger at Austin, signaling for him to shut up '' I want to meet her first. So tonight at 6 they're showing up, he's bringing wine and we finally get to show off our new house!'' Ally clapped giddily.

'' Hell yeah we do. No one picks real estate like Austin and Ally'' Austin said, high fiving his fiancée.

-x-

'' Ok, house is clean, you look…presentable, pasta's cooking, am I forgetting anything?'' Ally asked, later that evening.

'' How about some Benadryl? You're acting like a maniac, the floor's so clean I can see my face in it'' Austin commented.

'' Hey, you know I clean when I'm nervous.''

'' Yeah, but why're you nervous?''

'' Your parents are still together, you wouldn't know.''

'' Then tell me, for the next..'' Austin pulled out his phone and set a timer '' Four minutes, I'm not your fiancé, I'm your best friend. Talk to me.''

'' Fine, I'm nervous that she won't like me, remember that Joanna woman he dated back when we were still just dating in senior year?''

'' Yeah, her kid's coming to our wedding.''

'' Well, I always felt that they were right for each other, and that Mikey and I got in the way of their happiness. I don't want to scare this girlfriend off.''

'' Aww, Allz'' Austin pulled her into a hug. '' Your dad chose you over her because he loves you so much. Besides, I'm sure this one won't run away in fear.''

'' You really are the love of my life'' Ally teared up as she squeezed Austin harder.

'' Same here'' Austin said, capturing her in a chaste kiss, which she happily returned.

'' Take that Gavin Young!'' Austin said as he pulled away. '' You may have the country market cornered but I got Ally!''

'' Again with this Gavin crap? Austin, we were only together for a few months, I chose you not him. Get over it.''

'' Sorry, I guess I'll always be beating myself up over losing you to that overly nice, hayseed '' Austin tensed up.

'' Well don't'' Ally pecked him on the cheek as she turned his phone off. '' Oh crap, that's them'' Ally dashed to the door to let her dad and his girlfriend in.

A few seconds later, Lester came through, the only shock? The woman he was with.

'' Joanna?!'' Austin looked shocked.

'' Hello to you too Austin. My my you have a beautiful home.''

'' Thanks, Ally threatened to leave me if I didn't put an offer in.''

'' That sounds like my little Ally-bear'' Lester smiled at his daughter.

'' Hey!'' Ally protested.

'' Oh, I brought…wine'' Lester dug in a paper bag he had brought in with him. '' here you go'' Lester handed the container to Austin.

'' Costco box wine? Come on dad'' Ally flailed her arms in derision.

'' Hey, this is quality stuff. 8.12 for a whole box, you know I can't pass that up'' Lester defended.

'' That's your father Ally, the cheapest man alive'' Joanna smiled.

'' Hey, I'm not cheap!"' Lester defended.

'' Uhm, Mr. Dawson, for Ally's last birthday you got her a rotting log'' Austin tapped the man on the shoulder.

'' It was a quality gift. If I gave her flowers they would die, but a rotting log-

'' Will keep producing mushrooms for a good few years, yeah I remember'' Ally pouted.

'' See, she isn't judging me'' Lester patted her on the head.

'' Oh no, I'm judging you nine ways to Sunday'' Ally answered.

That was exactly how the night went, laughs, catching up and just pure joy, by the end of, there wasn't a doubt in Ally's mind, this woman, in spite of how bratty her son used to be, was the one for her dad.

Ah love, I adore it. Thanks so much for reading everyone, hope your days are going well. So as I said during the story, we're passed the hallway point in the story, but not to worry, I still have some more ideas cooking upstairs for more chapters.

Other than that, stay safe and stay awesome!
