Not done yet dear friends, we still haven't explored dresses and tuxes now have we Welcome to chapter 11 new and returning Dravenites, please enjoy!
'' How about this one?''
'' Are you trying to look like a giant bowl of dyed rice?''
'' Nice!'' Ally gasped sarcastically.
Currently the almost bride found herself in a chic bridal store, not even that far from her home. Naturally since she was also shopping for bridesmaid's dresses, she had gotten her bridal party to come too, even Emma, who was in town for a modelling gig with Austin.
'' Well, is she wrong? Come of Ally, its just not you'' Tilly added.
'' What's so wrong with it? Who doesn't love a floor-length fully sleeved navy blue turtle neck wedding dress?'' Ally protested.
'' Ok ladies, let the fashion expert take this one'' Emma stood up from the bench she was on and turned Ally in the direction of a mirror.
'' Oh God! I look like Allison Reynolds from the Breakfast bunch!''
'' Hey, don't mock the Breakfast bunch, Dez and I watched it last night, it was sweet'' Carrie defended.
'' Not the point brainiac'' Trish added.
Ally was getting tired of this. She had tried on three dresses in the last hour alone. Did she enjoy dress shopping? Sure, dresses were one of her signature looks, but this was getting ridiculous. She wasn't shopping for t shirts or jeans, those were easy. These were wedding dresses, the had zips, buttons and some were so poofy that Ally looked like she had her own orbit.
'' Ok, I'm getting tired of this, try…this on'' Trish handed Ally a much less poofy dress.
'' Fine'' Ally groaned, marching back into the dressing room and re-emerging three minutes later.
'' Well?'' Ally asked. This time the woman was wearing a floor-length sleeveless spaghetti strap dress, complete with a less obvious tulle.''
'' Not awful, Tilly, your thoughts?'' Emma asked.
'' Not that bad actually. I mean, I've seen better but as far as our Ally's fashion sense is concerned, this is pretty good'' the blonde responded.
'' Its not awful, but can we do better?'' Trish added, squinting.
'' Oh, absolutely yes. I've got you covered'' Carrie winked, throwing another dress at her brunette friend, causing her to tumble backwards into the changing room.
'' Was that really necessary?'' Tilly asked.
'' Well how else was she supposed to get it?'' Carrie defended.
'' Give it to her'' Trish deadpanned.
'' Oh…that makes so much more sense. But she should be fine shouldn't she?''
'' Please, she's Ally Dawson, she can do anything'' Tilly smiled.
'' Ok everybody, how do I look?'' Ally trilled, re-emerging from the dressing room.
'' Ho-ly-fuck'' Emma gasped. Ally's new dress was so much more…her. It was a strapless dress, the perfect shade of navy blue for the wedding itself, the bust wasn't accentuated to the point that was a bit…undignified, it was just right. While the tulle was now non-existent, it was replaced by a pencil-skirt style bottom that went down past her feet, the dress itself, perfectly fit the woman's athletic figure.
'' Language'' Ally hissed.
'' Why? None of us are kids anymore Ally, sure Emma may only be 22, but she's still an adult'' Carrie shrugged.
'' Thanks, Mrs. locks-herself-in-her-own car'' Emma deadpanned.
'' Hey! Don't be mean'' Tilly retorted.
'' Mean? Didn't you hold a grudge against Ally for like 10 years?'' Emma raised an eyebrow.
'' That was a long time ago. The talking doctor, electro-shock therapy and trip to the asylum made me much better. The fact that Ally gave me a second chance means the world to me'' the blonde smiled at her brunette friend, who was currently admiring herself in the mirror.
'' Moving on…So, how do you guys like your dresses?'' Ally asked.
The dresses that the other four women had on were all relatively similar, all were in the style of tube tops, per Ally's own request, all of them were wearing elbow-length gloves. Ally herself had already chosen per pair a while ago, and refused to part with them.
Out of all the women, the only dress besides Ally's, that was floor length, was Trish's. According to the Latina woman '' I've known her the longest, I'm her best friend, I have status over you normies.''
'' Look at us, five sophisticated young women, helping to get our popstar friend ready for the happiest day of her life'' Tilly gushed.
'' The best day of her life so far'' Carrie pointed out.
'' You really are a few sandwiches short of a picnic aren't you?'' Emma deadpanned.
'' Hey, leave her alone'' Ally snapped.
'' Yeah, she's the nicest of all of us'' Tilly added.
'' Oh, good lord, all of this sweetness is making me sick'' Trish sighed. '' I wonder if the guys are having a better time than we are?''
-x-
They…weren't. Across town, Austin, Dez, Trent, Jace and Xander found themselves judging the soon-to-be groom like he was on America's got talent. They were currently inside of a private tailor, called '' Armando'', a premier establishment, the owner himself had forbidden all customers except for Austin and his groomsmen to be there all day.
'' Ok, how's this suit?'' Austin asked, spinning in his usual style.
'' Hmm, whilst the three-piece is a bit much for me, in general the suit is decent'' Dez said analytically.
'' Hey, the man's getting married to Ally Dawson, he has got to look the part. Otherwise the press is going to shred him apart. And as interested as I am in seeing that, he does kinda pay my salary'' Trent added.
'' Kind of? Trent, you work for me'' Austin breathed.
'' Pfft, details. So, Jac, Xander, tell me stuff'' Trent added.
'' Ok, look, I've seen worse. Call me a traditionalist but I think he needs to go darker, like a lot darker'' Jace answered.
'' If he goes any darker then he won't be in navy blue, he'll be in jet black'' Xander refuted.
'' Oh my Gd, not this again. Look, he needs to look good, so if we have to deviate from the color scheme then we will'' Trent argued.
'' Bad idea'' Austin responded, sharply. '' The last time I changed something without Ally's permission, let's just say the couch in our old apartment was my bed for a whole two days.''
'' That's Ally for you, unbending'' Dez shrugged.
'' No, I love her'' Austin refuted.
'' Yeah, she's the best'' Dez replied, rapidly changing his previous answer.
'' Ok…Look, Austin, we're in one of the finest tailors in Miami, let's splurge a bit, hey! Come over here!'' Xander snapped his fingers, a clerk approaching them.
'' I prefer to be called and called clicked at'' the clerk glared.
'' Yeah, whatever. Look, our friend needs the best navy-blue tux you have'' Jace said.
The clerk studied Austin for a second. '' Good lord you're Austin Moon!''
'' Yeah I am. Can you help us?''
'' Of course, of course. Follow me gentlemen'' the clerk said, his tone quickly changing.
The clerk led the group to a different area of the store, purely dedicated to unusual colors for suits.
'' Now, Mr. Moon, based on your physicality, I assume you don't want a tight fitting suit, correct?'' the clerk asked.
'' Preferably'' Austin breathed.
'' I see, I see. Now, I overheard that the color scheme for your wedding is platinum and navy blue?''
'' Yes?'' Austin raised an eyebrow.
'' Well then, I highly recommend this newest design from Emma Ross'' the clerk pulled off a dark navy suit, bordering on black. Composed of a polycotton, wool blend, it was exceptionally stylish. The front pocket itself was deep enough that the flower he would have on him with slide in perfectly and not pierce the actual suit itself.
'' Not too bad'' Trent grinned, as he stroked his chin.
'' Agreed, however it's still missing something. I know'' Dez walked to his friend and yanked his signature whistle from under his shirt and putting it over it. '' There, perfect.''
'' Yes! Now this is Austin Moon'' Jace clapped.
'' Mhm. Very…you'' Xander added. '' I'm sure my girlfriend's going to approve too. You know, considering you're buying her design.''
'' We get it'' Austin breathed. '' Now, we just have to take care of you four. Sorry, what's your name?'' Austin asked the clerk.
'' Dorcus'' the answered.
Dez, Trent and Jace bit their lips to stop from laughing, whilst Xander kept his cool.
'' Well…Dorcus'' Austin stifled a small snicker. '' We need to find something for my best friends here.''
'' Ah yes, well, I've seen interviews with the redheaded-one and I know he wears wacky clothes. Whilst I'm familiar with your fiancée's personality, I know she enjoys it when people are themselves. So, I do believe this might be acceptable?'' Dorcus dug through a slew of dress shirts before finding something more Dez's style. It was a houndstooth-print t-shirt.
Dez gasped. '' Its perfect. I'll call her…Tin foil.''
'' Now tell me this white boy did not just name the shirt'' Trent said out the corner of his mouth, his head cocked in Jace's direction.
'' He did'' Jace deadpanned.
'' Thanks Dez, odd and unpredictable'' Austin added.
'' Now then…you, the one dressed like he lives in the 90s'' Dorcus pointed to Jace.
'' Me?''
'' Yes you, come here'' Jace cautiously approached the clerk.
'' Mm, yes, yes. I see, I see. You need something original, something…spectacular, something that says you have no shame'' Dorcus said, emphatically. '' I have just the thing'' the young clerk disappeared into the backroom, re-emerging with a navy blue west, and white dress shirt.
'' I look hot. I should wear this home, I am so getting laid tonight with this on'' Jace said confidently, as he put the shirt and vest on.
'' Charming'' Xander deadpanned. '' How about us?'' the man pointed to him and Trent.
'' You two? Oh wow, this is interesting. Now, I know that you prefer hoodies, correct?'' Dorcus pointed at Trent.
'' Yeah, I do. Can't go wrong with 'em.''
'' Unfortunately, as you are attending one of the 21st century's most prestigious events, you can go wrong with them'' Dorcus retorted. '' However, I have something for just such an occasion'' Dorcus again, went to the backroom, and emerged with a hooded blazer. The same color blue as Austin's suit, the only difference being the attached black hood at the back.
'' Nice. I might start wearing this casually'' Trent smiled, as he tried on the blazer.
'' You should. Now, you, the other one'' Dorcus pointed at Xander and studied him. '' I don't have anything. You seem to not have a signature style of clothing. Hold on a minute, I recognize you… you're Emma Ross' trophy boyfriend.''
'' That's me, Xander McCormick. I really don't need anything too flashy, just a basic navy suit works for me.''
'' Oh good heavens no. You are 100% wearing your girlfriend's suits. Hear… this is her signature line for men, its called'…Vanilla'' Dorcus handed the man a standard navy-blue suit.
'' Not bad, just what I needed. Also, now that I'm wearing my girlfriend's design, she won't rip off my head.''
'' Please man, Emma's not violent'' Trent snorted.
'' Oh, you have no idea. We had solicitors visit our penthouse once. They went home in tears'' Xander answered.
'' Really? I'm dating Trish De La Rosa, there's a reason people around A&A Records call her; The Red One'' Jace retorted.
'' Wait, what? No one told me or Ally that'' Austin protested.
'' Told you what?'' Jace responded.
'' About Trish having a nickname-''
'' Nope, no idea what you're talking about, anyway, who's for Chinese'' Jace interrupted.
Ah Jace, I love the guy. I feel like he's a bit under-utilized in the series, hence why I made him a big player in this chapter. Also before I end off, I know this chapter's a bit short, but her, quality over quantity right? Also, I'm issuing a challenge; whoever can tell me why I named Emma's signature suit line Vanilla, gets a shoutout in my next intro card.
Other than that, I guess the only thing left for me to tell you guys, is stay safe and stay awesome!
