A/N: Hello! I bring to you an update. It's not the longest, but it's an update for now. I'm slowly working on getting some of these stories finished so…stay tuned. Enjoy!
OOOOOOOOOOOO
Sadie curled on her side and coughed as she laid on the bed, thinking about how much she hated her heart. She hated a lot of things right now. The fact that she couldn't move. The fact that Jacob had gotten the other boys to comment and make jokes about it and her in general. The fact that Emmett had relentlessly texted, Facebook messaged, Snapped, and whatever else he could to try to convince her to go back home with him for several days now. And especially the fact that she was the reason that the bastard was probably not eating like he was supposed to and was making himself a danger to humanity.
I just want to disappear, Sadie thought, feeling a tear slide down her cheek. I want to make it so that I never came here and ruined all our lives…this is the worst decision of my life.
Sadie heard something rustle. She heard her name being whispered around her and wished that she didn't recognize the voice. It sounded so familiar and heartbreakingly so. She hadn't heard it in so long and she had never thought she would hear it again.
"You're rather pathetic looking right now," the woman said from nearby. "Have you really gone downhill so quickly?"
"You're not real, you're not real," Sadie muttered, putting her hand over her ear. "I heard you disappear from my head with everyone else. You AREN'T real."
"Kiddo, you keep telling yourself that and maybe you will also convince yourself that you're not real either," the voice laughed.
Sadie sat up and looked at the source of the voice. She was seated on the bed, but it was in the forest. And her sister – her beautiful sister – was perched on the edge of the bed, looking amused with life. Sadie stared for a moment and then lifted a finger.
"Am I dead?" she asked.
"No, dummy," her sister said, smiling. "You're not dead. I am dead though. Like dead-dead, not coming back from the grave dead. That dead."
"Then how are you here?"
"Dreaming Sadie."
"Amanda…" Sadie shook her head and looked at the bed spread. "I shouldn't be dreaming of you. This is crazy. I can't be dreaming up conversations with my dead big sister."
"You think this is crazy?" Amanda snorted and punched Sadie on the shoulder. "Imagine having to watch your kid sister screw up time and time again with this new family she's found. First you go and piss off one of the members…"
"To be fair, she is a bitch."
"And then you decide to run off because you're chicken shit." Amanda's dark eyes hardened. "Scared to death that people from four hundred miles away are going to give a rat's ass about one wolf that got away? And even thinking that they're coming for yet another wolf-vampire mixed group? Pfft!"
"Amanda, it could -!"
"Come with me, Sadie," Amanda ordered, rising to her feet. "There's something I need to show you."
Sadie hastily climbed out of bed and followed after her sister because her sister just started walking without looking back at her.
This is crazy…so crazy…
OOOOOOOOOO
Emmett hadn't eaten in God knows how long and he was starting to feel it. Bella wasn't allowed coming over to the house anymore. Because of him. Because he was possibly a danger. To her and to other tasty humans.
No, no. Think of something else, Emmett told himself, running a hand over his face. Think about getting Sadie back. Yeah, she's going to cave soon. She's going to come back home and let me treat her right. No more fucking wolves to keep us apart. Just her and me and the whole family living the good life.
But so far, Sadie had ignored his messages. All five hundred and sixty-four of them. He didn't understand why she would have the patience to do all of that. Unless she was sicker than the others were letting him know about. In which case, he needed to bring her over the border ASAP.
"Look at you," Rosalie said, standing at the foot of Sadie's bed where Emmett was curled up. "You look so pathetic and weak right now, Emmett. Haven't you realized yet that your mutt isn't coming home?"
Emmett growled and looked at her with burning red eyes. "You know nothing! She's going to come home and everything will be good again!" He sneered at her. "Except for you."
"I was the best thing that ever happened to you," Rosalie commented, leaning on her hands on the bed. "You remember that, don't you?"
The big vampire swiped at her hands, not wanting her to touch what was Sadie's. Rosalie laughed and took a step back. She brought her finger to her lips and bit down. Emmett growled as she dropped blood on the bedspread and sat up. Rosalie was gone before he could get out of bed.
"Bitch!" he roared into empty space.
He turned and looked down at the bedspread and saw the bright red blood staining the fabric. Pain hit his heart hard and he ran gathered the blankets in his arms. Emmett turned and saw Alice standing there, looking at him with the same worried expression that she had had since he stopped eating.
"Al?" he mumbled.
"Emmett," Alice whispered before pointing at the blankets. "Do you – do you want me to take those to the laundry room? I can get the blood out better than you can."
For a moment, Emmett tightened his grip on the blankets. But what was the point? Sadie's scent was disappearing off of them. She'd been gone too long. Emmett was simply holding blankets with fond memories made.
"Take care of them," he muttered, not meeting her gaze.
"I will," Alice promised. She took them from him and looked at him again. "Take care of yourself, Emmett. You're important in this family…"
"Right." Emmett turned and fell back on the bed, burying his face in the pillows and trying to remember the scent of Sadie on them.
Sadie, you need to come home. Come back to me. It's crazy to think you may hear my thoughts, but I hope you can. It might convince you to come home. Just come home, little Wolf Girl. You're missed and loved and I am dying without you. You're dying over there and I can't do anything because of some kind of stupid pact. And you can't see how bad everyone over here is suffering. Please, please, come home.
"I miss you," Emmett muttered into the pillows, wishing Sadie was next to him to hear it.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sadie followed her sister through the forest, trying to keep up. It reminded her of all the times she tried to keep up with her sister before. Amanda was known for quick, sure steps and never seemed to get lost or fall. Which was not something that Sadie could boast about.
"Amanda," she said as her sister started climbing a hill. "Where are we going?"
"Stop being impatient, Kiddo."
"But -"
"Sadie!" Amanda cast a look over her shoulder and frowned. "You'll see in a minute. Just chill."
She rolled her eyes and looked ahead again. "Oh, I forgot. You've never been able to chill before. My bad."
Sadie's mouth dropped open in shock. "Take that back! I can chill!"
"Not from what I've seen and I've known you all your life. You are an uptight brat."
Sadie ran up the crest of the hill and tried to jump on her sister. Amanda reversed the move on her and they ended on the bottom of the opposite side of the hill with Amanda sitting on top of Sadie. Sadie growled as her sister squeezed her throat lightly and her body trembled.
"Keep it in your pants," Amanda warned, her eyes flashing.
"Get off me," Sadie growled, feeling her temper surge.
"Are you two still squabbling after all this time?" a familiar voice said from somewhere above Sadie.
Sadie looked beyond her sister and saw someone she hadn't expected to see either. "F – Felix?"
She blinked and looked around them. "Oh my God…it's our…it's our pack!"
Felix smiled. "Hi Sadie…"
OOOOOOOOOOOO
