Finally another chapter, this one is cool!
Let's answer some questions before starting the chapter.
Akabara Strauss: All I can say is that Issei's Balance Breaker will be something entirely different and unique with a hunter theme, unlike the original which is full red armor. But I won't introduce Balance Breaker anytime soon, only when Issei really needs it.
Lawrence H. Bain: Your answer is at the end of that chapter in the endnotes.
Niéreal: 1. The Presence of the Moon is not Oedon. Sorry if you interpreted it that way.
2. Yes.
Dillan97: Rias will not be the main girl in the harem, it will be Maria. I don't intend to make a very gigantic harem.
Now with the questions answered, let's start the chapter.
Chapter 4 - Rescuing the Nun - The reason he fights
It was late at night, and Issei was heading to a specific house.
It was no mansion or apartment, just a simple common house. He was about to sign a contract, and this time he had determination in his eyes. He wouldn't leave this house until the client signed the contract with him. Issei was tired of Kiba's bullshit jokes about him attracting strange contractors...
But this time he was sure the customer was normal.
From what he'd learned in the last few days, ordinary people can't see him, so Issei was confident he wouldn't end up bumping into his family or anything.
For some reason Issei had a strange feeling as he faced the door of his client's house. He was about to ring the doorbell, but he noticed something.
The door was open.
...Seriously, leaving the door open in the middle of the night.
Chills.
Suddenly, the uncomfortable feeling was stronger than before. What is it? Issei had a bad feeling...he really hoped to be able to close the deal this time.
He walked into the house.
Through the entrance, he looked inside. There are no lights in the hallway. There is a staircase that leads to the second floor, but there are no lights on. There's only one room, at the end of the first floor, with a few lights on, and they're dim.
...Yes, there is definitely something wrong. He couldn't feel the presence of any humans around. Could they be sleeping? Impossible. If so, he wouldn't be feeling this discomfort. Issei quickly narrowed his eyes and started to look around the place.
A feeling was taking over him. He didn't know what it was, but without even realizing it he was walking around the house without making a single noise. He was walking normally, but his footsteps were silent, although because of the tension, he didn't realize it. But he was doing it as normal as breathing, it was second nature to him.
He looked into the room through the door which is slightly open, and the light is due to lit candles.
Normally, he would say something like 'Hello. I'm a demon from the House of Gremory... Umm, is the customer here?'. However, this is definitely not happening.
As there was no other way, Issei began to walk silently until he entered the room.
It's a living room and there's a television, a sofa, a table, and everything else. It looked like a living room though...
His eyes were glued to the wall with an unreadable expression.
A wall. There's a body stuck in the wall. Upside down.
... A human. A man. Was he the person who lived in this house? But why...? Who made this?
The body was violently cut. Something like your entrances are coming out of the wounds...
If a normal, frail person saw such a scene, he would certainly vomit everything he ate for lunch. But Issei can no longer be described as a normal person. He was just looking at the body with a little surprise and pity. Nobody deserved to die like that.
Issei was really starting to freak out at himself for not reacting to seeing this man in such a state.
There is a pool of blood on the floor made by the drops of blood running down from the body. His eyes turned to a specific location. There's something written on the wall.
"What is it?" Issei muttered.
"It is written: 'Punishment of sinners!' I just borrowed the phrase from someone important."
Suddenly, a young guy's voice came from behind Issei.
When he turned around, there was a white haired man. He appears to be an alien, and he appears to still be a teenager. He is dressed like a priest. And he is also a handsome young man.
Seeing Issei, the priest gave a devilish smile.
"Hmm, hmm. Well, well, if it's not a demon-kun!"
He looked really happy.
Then what Rias said to him came to his mind.
"Don't get involved with people from the Church. Especially with exorcists, who are our greatest enemies. They can easily eliminate us, as their powers derive from prayers to God."
He's a priest, so he's related to the Church. That was bad...
He even knew that Issei was a demon. He just got into something troublesome again, didn't he?
"I'm a priest~ . A holy boy~ . I cut devils~, and I laugh at them~ . I cut off your devils' heads, so I get food~ "
The priest began to hum.
"Who are you?" His voice came out indifferent, something that made the priest raise his eyebrows a little, but soon his smile returned.
"My name is Freed Sellsen. I belong to a certain exorcist organization. Oh, just because I introduced myself doesn't mean you have to. I don't want to remember your name in my mind, so don't even do it. It's okay since you're going to die soon. I will make sure of that. It may hurt at first, but in the end you will feel so good that you will cry. Now, let's take this opportunity—!"
Issei has never met anyone like him before. Your words don't make any sense.
So this guy is an exorcist. He actually got himself into another troublesome situation.
However, their words didn't affect Issei as much as he thought they would.
"Hey, was it you? The one who killed that person?" He asked looking at the man's body.
In fact, he didn't know why he asked that question, after all, it was as clear as day.
"Yes Yes. I killed him. Because~, he was a recurring criminal, who has been summoning devils, so I had to kill him."
Issei however, didn't show any sort of big reaction. It was just confirmation that he got it.
"Why? You don't look too surprised. However, is that weird? I mean, humans who make a pact with devils are vulgar. Really vulgar. Can't you understand that? No? Is that so? Well, you're a demon of shit in the end."
This guy was just crazy. The worst thing is that Issei felt he had no right to say anything, but he still did.
"Demon of shit, huh. Wouldn't that make you a shitty priest? Murdering a human simply because he made a contract with an 'alleged demon' shouldn't be a reason for you to just kill him in cold blood." His voice seemed to show imperceptible anger.
"Haaaaa? What the hell is that? A mere devil like you is lecturing me? Haha ha. I just have to laugh. You could probably win an award for being funny. All right then, listen carefully, you fucking demon. Devils also use humans' greed to survive. Relying on a demon proves that you are no longer a human. And end. That's why I killed him~. I make a living by killing devils and those who hire them. That's my job ."
At that time, there was no way for him to know. There was no way Freed knew that those words he said would come back to haunt him in the form of the very person in front of him.
"Your job, you say? There's no way you can be a normal exorcist. Does the term lost demon also include you?"
That phrase seemed to win a reaction from the priest. So was he right? If that's the case, that person in front of you is a Lost Exorcist.
"Not even the devils would go that far," said Issei.
In fact, he didn't know why he said it. He'd only known them for a few weeks, so he couldn't say that.
"Haa~~? What are you talking about? Devils are shit. Did you know they are a shitty existence? Did you know that this is what everyone thinks? I did not know? Seriously, you should go back to diapers. Wait, it's useless to say that to a reincarnated demon like you. Besides, I'm going to kill you! Hahahaha Too much, isn't it? That's great, isn't it?"
'Okay, this guy sure has a screw loose.' Issei thought.
Furthermore...
Issei took a look at the dead man's body.
That was your client.
He was confident that he would sign a contract with him.
However, this priest prevented him from closing the contract.
Because of him, Issei still had 0 contracts to his name.
That thought made him a little angry.
Hang on...
One person died, so why the hell is he thinking about the contract!?
Issei suddenly heard a sound.
He looked at the priest who took out a sword that had no blade, and a weapon.
Suddenly, the sound of vibrating air reached his ears.
The sword that only had the hilt turned into a lightsaber. What is it? It looked like a lightsaber...
"Your nonchalant attitude kind of pisses me off, so can I cut you? Can I shoot you? Is that okay? Alright then. Now I'm going to stab your heart with this sword of light, and I'm going to blow your head off with this gun." way! Man, I'm really going to love this!"
SWIFT!
The priest came running towards him.
He swung his sword of light against Issei.
Filth!
Issei quickly dodged the blow, however, he felt his instincts scream. An immense pain coursed through her leg. There was smoke coming from the priest's gun. Had he been shot? He hadn't heard any gunshots, however, but again, he felt his instincts screaming at him, only this time with more force. Issei tried to quickly summon his Boosted Gear, however, he wasn't fast enough. Then, suddenly, he felt another shot hurt his leg.
"Guaaaah!"
He dropped to his knees as he groaned. This time the shot had been to his left calf.
That hurt. It was a pain he knew.
"How it feels!? The special bullet made for exorcists, the bullet of light! And it doesn't make any sound, since it's a bullet of light. The situation is great for both of us, isn't it?"
The pain was because of the light. To a demon, light is a poison. Once it hits, the pain travels through the entire body.
He was starting to curse himself for being a demon right now.
"Die, die devil! Die devil! Turn to dust and disappear! All of this is for fun!"
The priest is laughing maniacally and was about to finish him off.
At that moment, Issei felt his body react in a strange way. He was able to foresee the threat, but his body wasn't able to react in time.
Right now, his instincts were screaming for him to do something.
But he didn't know what it was.
And at that moment, he heard a familiar voice.
"Stop it," the voice said.
The priest, who was about to attack Issei, completely stopped his posture, and looked towards where the voice came from.
He also looked in the direction.
A girl is there, and he knows her.
"Asia."
"Well, if it isn't my helper, Doll-chan. What happened? Did you finish putting up the barrier?"
"No. What are you doing, stop immediately," the girl's voice didn't match her angel-like face.
His expression looked grim.
In fact, Freed was quite curious about it.
He had heard of a nun who had cured a demon, and everyone was talking about how kind and naive she was. He even thought he might take away her innocence and 'play' with her at some point. But when the girl arrived, she was totally out of character.
She rarely showed any kind of expression or emotion on her face, so Freed quickly lost interest in her. She didn't have fun playing with someone who showed nothing. He even called her a doll because she looked like one most of the time. But he was curious about this change.
"Now, now, my dear doll-chan. That's a fucking demon."
"Don't you dare speak that way to the Good Hunter ." Her face didn't show much emotion, but Issei could feel that she was angry.
Very rage...
"Haaaa? Good hunter? What the fuck are you talking about, doll?" the priest asked.
"None of your business, I suppose."
The priest's eyes narrowed.
"What did you say, you bitch?"
"You heard very well. Or have you forgotten why you're here?" She shot.
Issei was just looking at the exchange...strange, as he held his leg that had been shot. What the fuck was going on? Asia looked like she was arguing with this crazy psychopath. She was actually braver than she looked...
"Fuck the reason I'm here. Who do you think you are to order me around, you bitch? Do you want to die?" Freed said as he gripped his gun.
Issei's eyes widened slightly.
However, Asia didn't seem to show any fear. She didn't really show anything. Her expression was as empty as a...
Doll.
Issei quickly felt his heart beat faster than before.
He looked again in Asia's direction with a single thought.
'What the hell is going on?'
"You can't kill me or anything. You know the reason I'm here. Besides, if there was only one person to die here, it would be you. Instead of talking to me like that, you should be thanking me, " she said.
"Haaa? Thanking you? Thanking you for what?"
"For keeping you from killing yourself, of course."
Okay, not just Issei, but Freed himself was confused by her words.
Prevent him from killing himself? What the hell was she talking about?
"What the fuck are you talking about you bitch? You couldn't be implying that this fucking demon was going to kill me, could you?"
"I'm not implying anything. I'm stating it. Even without his memories he could take care of a clown like you."
That was the last straw.
With the gun, Freed hit Asia from the side. And she fell to the floor.
"Asia!" Issei yelled.
He walked towards her, his leg injured, only to see her hand on his cheek and muttering something like 'Even 'she' hits harder than that' . Issei was confused by this.
...There is a mark on her face...
This motherfucker...
Issei didn't know what that feeling was, but he couldn't forgive it. He sure as hell couldn't forgive.
"...That fallen angel girl emphasized that I can't kill you, but that doesn't mean I can't do anything. I'm getting pissed off. Since I can't kill you, how about rape or something!? If I don't, I won't be able to heal my heart. But before that, I need to kill that garbage over there."
'You're the one who's going to be killed, ' thought Asia looking at Issei.
Even though he didn't seem to be able to remember, it was impossible for his body to forget for everything he had gone through within the dream .
The priest pointed the sword of light at Issei again.
Issei, however, had his hair covering his eyes. A faint light began to appear on her left arm, however, before Issei could summon his Sacred Gear, a magic circle that appeared on the ground glowed. Then people he knew showed up for him. I mean, devils.
"Issei-kun, we came to save you."
"Ara ara. This is horrible."
"...Exorcist."
He could see Akeno and Koneko.
Your companions...
Looks like they came to save him... yes, they came to save him...
"But what is it, how many visitors! Hyahou! Here, a gift for the demon group!"
The priest started swinging his sword.
KAGIN!
The sound of metal echoed through the room. Kiba parried the priest's attack with his sword.
"I am really sorry. He's one of us! We can't let you hurt him!"
"Oh oh! A mere demon worrying about his peers? What are you? Demon Squad, the Demon Rangers? That is good. It is getting hot. I'm getting excited! So how is it? You on top and he on the bottom? So you guys have that kind of relationship?"
"Don't talk shit!" Issei yelled at the priest.
They are parrying their swords, but Freed is all cocky and tongue out as he wiggles and swings his sword. Even Kiba had an agonized expression. This guy was definitely disgusting.
"... What a vulgar mouth. It's hard to believe that you're a priest... Oh, that's why you're a 'Lost Exorcist' right?"
"And is! I'm vulgar! Sorry about that! That's why I was rejected! I got kicked out! That's why fuck the Vatican! I'm fine as long as I can slash devils whenever I want!"
"So I got it right?" Issei said as he placed his hands on his knee and forced himself up, surprising the devils.
His leg was pierced by what looked like a bullet. But the wound was much worse than if it was a normal bullet, so it must have been a light of bullet. How the hell is he on his feet so fast? Those were the thoughts of some who weren't involved in the battle yet.
Issei returned his gaze to the fight as he got to his feet.
He himself didn't understand how he was able to stand completely on his feet in all that pain. But for some strange reason, he felt as if he'd already experienced pain far worse than the one he's feeling right now.
Both are still trimming their swords.
Kiba has a calm expression, but his eyes are completely focused on his enemy.
This young priest, Freed, still laughs and enjoys the fight.
"You're the worst kind to deal with. Someone who thinks they should live to kill devils... are the ones who do us the most harm."
"Haaaaah!? You know, I don't want to be lectured by a demon! I'm trying to live like other people! I'm not in a state where vermin like you can talk about me!"
"Even devils have rules."
Akeno was smiling, but her eyes are serious. She is showing a will to fight and hostility towards Freed.
"That's great. I love those passionate eyes. Onee-san, you're the best. I can feel your desire to want to kill me. It will be love? No. I think it's killer instinct! Too much! That's great! I love the feeling of wanting to murder and being murdered!"
"Then disappear."
The person who appeared next to Issei is a crimson haired girl, Rias Gremory.
"Ise, I'm sorry. I didn't expect a 'Lost Exorcist' to come to the client's house."
'Don't tell me,' thought Issei sarcastically.
Rias, who was apologizing to Issei, quickly saw the wound on his leg and was surprised at how he was able to stand up like that.
"... Ise. Did you get hurt?"
...
Was she serious?
Issei looked at her uncomprehendingly. "What? Of course not, Santa Claus decided to deliver the presents earlier this year!" He said sarcastically while blatantly pointing at his two legs with both hands.
Rias narrowed her eyes at him as the others had sweat pouring out of their heads at the fact that he was capable of cracking jokes at such moments.
She then seemed to ignore the joke as she gave Freed an icy look.
"Looks like you've been taking care of my dear servant, don't you?" His voice was deep, and it sounded very scary.
"Yes Yes. I've been playing with him. I was planning to cut this kid all off, but I got interrupted and it ruined my party."
BOOM!
Some of the furniture behind the priest was decimated. It was Rias. Rias shot a ball of demonic power.
"I make sure I never forgive those who hurt my servants. I personally cannot forgive a trash like you who has damaged my personal belongings."
His hostility made the air grow heavy. Your killer instinct is taking over the room. There is what appear to be waves of demonic power surrounding Rias.
"It's personal, huh? You devils are all scum. Especially this 'personally owned' of yours." replied the priest.
"What do you mean by that?" Rias narrowed her eyes as the demonic power around her grew stronger.
"Hmmmm, let's see! When your dear servant found the body of that shit I killed, he didn't show any reaction. He was just looking at everything like he didn't care. It just goes to show the true nature of shit, of you devils~!"
Everyone raised their eyebrows at that.
Asia was just watching everything without saying anything all this time.
As they thought about those words, Akeno's face quickly became rigid and she began to report seriously.
"—! Buchou, there seem to be some fallen angels coming towards this house. At this rate, we will be at a disadvantage."
It seems that Akeno had detected something and informed them.
Fallen angels? Issei quickly narrowed his eyes upon hearing those words.
Rias stared at the priest for a moment.
"...Akeno, let's go back to base since we've recovered Ise. Get ready to teleport."
"Yes."
Akeno started casting a spell as soon as Rias asked her to. teleport?
Suddenly the magic circle appears between your feet.
Issei quickly looked at Asia. She opened her mouth and moved, no one could tell what she was talking about, but Issei could.
"We will meet again, good hunter." Was what he managed to understand.
In the next moment, Akeno finished casting the spell, and the magic circle on the ground began to glow blue again.
"As if I'm going to let you guys get away!"
The priest came swinging his sword at them, but Kenoko threw a sofa at him. By the time the priest had cut through the couch with his sword, they had already teleported to the club room.
Issei didn't have time to think about the feeling of his 'first' teleport through the magic circle, and he could only remember Asia's emotionless expression as she broke into a small smile as she muttered 'those words'.
"There are two types of exorcists."
Issei was listening to Rias' explanation while his feathers were already healed.
Of course, he already knew what she was likely to say about the two types of 'exorcists', but it's always good to have the whole theory and explanation.
"The first are exorcists who receive God's blessing to perform exorcisms in the name of justice. This group of exorcists borrow the power of God and angels to eliminatedevils. And there's another. —'Lost Exorcists'."
"Just as I guessed," he said.
"Exactly," Rias agreed.
He had already told her that he theorized that the man was a 'Lost Exorcist'. However, he would gain all these explanations from this type of exorcist. And information never hurts, right?
"Exorcism is a sacred ceremony that is performed in the name of God. But sometimes there are exorcists who start to enjoy the act of killing devils. They are beings who found pleasure in killing devils and make it their life purpose. Then, without exception, they are expelled from the Church. Or they are eliminated for being found guilty."
"...Eliminated, huh." It meant they were killed.
"But there are those who survive. What do you think happens to these exorcists? It's simple. They look for fallen angels."
"They seek help from those who have also fallen , don't they?" He concluded.
"Yea. Although fallen angels are beings that were cast out of heaven, they still have the power of light—the power to eliminate devils. The fallen angels also lost many of their companions and men in the past war. That's why they started recruiting servants, just like us."
'I see. But it confirms that when alone, they are basically useless, isn't it?' Issei thought.
"So the fallen angels, who find devils a nuisance, and exorcists, who want to kill devils, have the same goal, right?"
"Yes. That's why they are called the 'Lost Exorcists'. Soon, these dangerous exorcists, who became addicted to hunting devils, started attacking devils and humans bonded to devils, using the powers of fallen angels. The priest boy from before is exactly one. He is a 'Lost Exorcist' who belongs to an organization with the support of fallen angels. They're not exactly exorcists, but they're still as dangerous as the real ones. No, since they have no restrictions, they are much more difficult to deal with than true exorcists. It's not smart to mess with them. Also, the Church you were before does not belong to God, but to the fallen angels."
All this church talk has been bothering Issei for some time now. He didn't know why, but whenever he mentioned that name, it was like something screamed inside him. Maybe it was because he was a demon? He felt that was not the case, however.
Issei knew that if he mentioned that he wanted to save Asia, Rias would say something like 'impossible'. So he just got up with a tired sigh, and waved goodbye, saying he wanted to get some sleep after that.
Rias just nodded suspiciously at Issei as he left the club room.
Issei opened the doors of his house and soon came across his parents.
"Oh hello dear. Did you come back early today?" his mother asked.
"Yeah, there weren't many club activities."
Issei had mentioned that he was part of the occult club some time ago.
"We won't have to wait long to have our grandchildren, right?" His father's voice watching television said.
"Honey, don't say that. I'm not ready for grandchildren yet." replied the embarrassed mother.
"Okay, while you guys argue I'm going to go to sleep," replied Issei as he started to leave.
It was a waste of time trying to talk to them when they got that way, so he'd just leave it at that. As he climbed the stairs he heard his mother's voice.
"Goodnight Sweetheart."
"Goodnight."
...
Issei was now lying in his room as various thoughts ran through his mind. First there was Asia.
This weird feeling that he already knew her and it just kept making him uncomfortable. He didn't know what it was, but it was driving him crazy.
And he also had his parents.
He wondered if he should tell them about this demon thing or something. He didn't want to hide anything from them, but he didn't know how they would react. What if they reject him? What if they don't want to be around him anymore? That thought scared him a lot.
There were also those 'crows' that he didn't know what they were. But he had the impression that this unusual red moon was related to them. No matter how much he thought, Issei felt that something very bad was going to happen soon. And he would prepare for it.
The first thing he should do was find a way to keep his parents safe. He would not allow anything to happen to them. And if someone was brave enough to try to do something with them...
Turning his body onto his side and closing his eyes, Issei prepared himself for sleep.
What he didn't know was that outside his house, there were two figures on top of a house, looking directly at the window where Issei's room was.
It was midday.
Issei hadn't gone to school today, and at the moment, he was sitting on a playground bench with his face looking up at the sky.
He had a lot on his mind right now, and going to school wouldn't do him any good, so he decided to skip it. He looked down at his legs. The wounds on his legs from yesterday didn't seem to have healed completely, however, he didn't feel any kind of pain.
Rias had given him a break from his demon job.
She'd probably already spoken to the teacher, so they wouldn't have a problem with him skipping class today.
"I'm hungry," he muttered.
Issei hadn't eaten anything this morning. The moment he got up, I decide to go to some restaurant, a golden color appeared before his eyes.
Looking closely, there was a girl with blonde hair who was very familiar. She saw him too. Both had a strange expression on their faces.
"...Asia?"
"...Hello, good hunter."
...
...
"... Auu."
A strange sight. A confused nun in front of an attendant.
"W-What would you like to order...?"
Even the employee doesn't know how to handle this situation.
It was lunchtime, and he'd taken Asia to a fast food place in the shopping district.
It seems Asia had never visited such a place before, so she was having a hard time choosing her food.
In fact...
'What the hell is up with this change?' Issei couldn't help but wonder.
It was completely different from the Asia he had seen yesterday, but similar to the Asia he had seen for the first time. When she was talking to that crazy priest, her expression was totally blank as if she was abstaining from any emotion.
And here she is... showing an embarrassed expression.
"Sorry. She will want the same as I do." I decided to intervene.
"Right."
"Aww, I'm embarrassed. I can't even buy a simple hamburger by myself..."
"Have you never been to these kinds of places before?"
"N-it's not my fault. The Church didn't give out food like that, and it wasn't possible to taste that kind of food in that place either." She said with a cute expression while pouting.
Issei raised his eyebrows at the word 'in that place'.
So when the clerk delivered their orders, Issei showed Asia how to eat. They talked about various things while they ate.
Issei decided to go to the game center as it looks like she has never been to one before. He also felt like it had been a long time since he'd been one before.
...
...
"Oh, we had a lot of fun today."
"Indeed. I'm a little tired. Thanks for everything, good hunter."
"No problem, I had fun too after all."
At that point, Issei realized something.
He cast a glance at Asia who was smirking at the stuffed animal he had won for her at the game center.
Good hunter.
She had been calling him that for a long time. However, why did he only realize it now? No... he'd already noticed it from the start. The fact was, that name made him comfortable, as if he didn't mind being called that. Add this thought to the 'weird thoughts list' Issei has had. And the list was getting pretty long...
As Issei walked, he cast a glance at his leg. Asia noticed.
"Good hunter, can you lift your pants?" She asked.
Issei knew what she was going to do and didn't deny it. He did what she asked.
Asia then placed her hand on Issei's leg. A warm, gentle light shone on her calf. It was a really welcoming light, a beautiful green light, just like her eyes. Your green eyes...
Whenever Issei to them, he felt a tightness in his chest.
"How are you now?"
"Although I didn't feel any pain before, it feels more comfortable. Thank you, Asia." Issei replied while moving his legs a little.
"No problem, good hunter. Even more, that kind of pain is child's play for someone like you," she replied.
Although Issei didn't understand the meaning of those last words he left it at that.
"Your Sacred Gear is capable of healing anyone, regardless of race, isn't it?"
Suddenly, his expression went a little blank.
"Yes, although that was also the reason for my downfall," she replied.
"What do you mean by that?" Issei asked.
"Oh," she sighed. "This is going to take a while, how about we sit down?" She said as she pointed to a bench near them.
Issei nodded and they went to the bench to sit down.
So she began to tell a story about a girl who was once called "Saint". In a certain region of Europe, there was a girl who had been abandoned by her parents. She was raised in a nearby church by a nun, along with other orphans. The girl, who was a faithful follower of the Church, was given a special power when she turned 8. She healed an injured puppy, and a person from the Catholic Church witnessed this by chance.
From there, his life changed.
The girl was taken to the cathedral of the Catholic Church and she was seen by many as a "Saint" because of her healing powers. She used her power to heal several faithful and they said that this was divine protection. Rumors created rumours, and she was respected as a "Saint". Even without your approval. She had no disaffection with the way she was treated. Church people were kind, and she didn't hate healing people. On the contrary, she was glad that her power was useful. The girl was grateful for the power God had given her.
But she was a little lonely.
She didn't have any friends to talk to.
Everyone treated her well and was nice to her. But there was no one willing to be his friend. She understood why. She knew they looked at her powers as something out of the ordinary. They didn't look at her as a human, but rather as a creature that could heal humans.
But one day, that changed.
Coincidentally, there was a demon nearby and she healed him. A wounded demon. The girl couldn't ignore it. She thought that because he was injured, she had to heal him, even though he was a demon. It was her kindness that made her take such an attitude.
But it changed her life forever. One of the people of the Church saw this happening and warned others in the Church. Church ministers were terrified by this. They said:
"A power that can heal devils!?"
"Something absurd like this cannot exist!"
"The power of healing can only heal the followers of God!"
Yes, there were several people with the healing power. But the power to heal devils was out of the question. Church people thought it was normal for the healing power not to work on fallen angels and devils. Apparently, a similar case had happened in the past. The power to heal fallen angels and devils, who were not protected by God. But this was feared as the power of a "Witch". Soon, people saw her as a heretic.
"Cursed witch who can cure devils!"
The girl, who was respected as a Saint, was feared as a "Witch" and the Catholic Church abandoned her. She had nowhere to go and the "Lost Exorcists" organization took her in. In other words, she had to get divine protection from the fallen angels. But the girl never forgot to pray to God. She also never forgot to thank God. Even so, the girl was abandoned.
God didn't save her.
What shocked her the most was that there was not a single person in the Church who was willing to defend her. There was no one who cared about her.
"That's what my pathetic personality got for deciding to trust idiotic beliefs like that," she replied with a blank expression.
As sad and cruel as the story was, she didn't shed any tears. She actually told everything in a monotone voice without any kind of emotion in her voice.
There was no way for him to know if she was sad, and he really didn't want to know. He himself was not much shaken by this story.
Maybe that's why Asia's personality was like that? No, Issei felt it wasn't just that. There was something else.
For some reason, when Issei heard the name 'Church' he felt some anger. Maybe he was angry at what they'd done to her? Most likely...
But still...
"These people are hypocrites," Issei said.
As far as he knows, Sacred Gears were created by God, to help humans against different beings who possess overwhelming powers. The proof of this was the fact that only humans or people who had some human blood could possess the 'Sacred Gears'. So even if you are a hybrid but have human blood, it is possible to have one. The Sacred Gear has always been with you since your birth, inside your soul.
"What do you mean?" Asia asked with a little...curiosity?
"Sacred Gears were created by the 'Biblical God', weren't they?"
"Yes," she agreed.
"In that case, it should be God's own fault." Issei stated.
He felt a headache when he said that, but ignored it and continued.
"I'm not trying to imply that he's the real culprit, but he's partially to blame. The real blame lies with his blind followers. Are they that retarded?" Issei grumbled that last part.
"What I mean is that Church people are hypocrites," he stated before looking straight into Asia's eyes. "Think with me, if it was God who gave you this Sacred Gear, he wanted you to heal people, right? In that case, if it was possible for you to heal a demon, it means that he allowed it."
A small look of realization showed on Asia's expression.
"Oh, I see. It's certainly true..."
"Asia," Issei caught her attention.
He shouldn't be asking about it right after she revealed her sad past, however, he felt like she didn't really care about it, so he went ahead and asked his question.
"Why do you refer to me as, good hunter?"
That was a question Issei really wanted an answer to. The past few days, everything around him has been strange, and something told him that this girl in front of him had the answers to many of his questions.
Asia seemed to think for a while before speaking.
"Before I answer your question, I'd like you to answer one of mine, good hunter," she said. Issei just gestured for her to continue. "Where's your Trick Weapon? " she asked.
"Trick weapon?" Issei was confused.
"Yes, your trick weapons. The Blades of Mercy ."
The moment she said that name, it was like something inside Issei screamed. He placed his hand on his chest and looked at Asia.
"I don't know what it is. I don't have this thing," he said.
Now it was Asia's turn to make a confused expression. She quickly asked another question.
"When you woke up, did you feel weird?"
He widened his eyes.
"Yes, but how do you know that?"
She however ignored that question and said.
"By the time you woke up , didn't you find any pair of blades near you or something?"
"No...?" He responded uncertainly due to so many things thrown at him like that.
"That's weird..." she muttered.
Hunters should return along with their weapon as soon as they wake up. So why didn't he have his trick gun? She started to think of several things that could be the reason for this.
Issei was just looking confused at this.
What was a trick weapon? That's what he was thinking.
Just when it looked like Asia was going to answer his question, a voice spoke out of nowhere.
"It's impossible."
When they looked in the direction of that voice, they saw who it was. Issei narrowed his eyes as Asia put on a blank expression.
A slender girl with silky black hair. Amano Yuuma was there.
Issei just fell silent as the woman was a little surprised that he wasn't trembling in fear.
"Heh. Did you survive. And as a demon? Seriously, this is horrible." She said looking at him.
"Well, it's better than having black wings and wearing those bitch clothes you're wearing." He shot back.
She quickly narrowed her eyes at his words.
"What did you say you trash?"
"You heard right. But then, what is a Fallen Angel doing here?"
Issei thought for a moment about saying the word 'Crow' to insult her, but he quickly balked at that idea. He didn't know why, but using the word 'Crow' for her was an insult to a certain someone...again those weird thoughts.
"I don't want a dirty Low-Class devil like you talking to me." She stared at Issei as if she was looking at something very disgusting.
"I didn't want to talk to you either, but I don't have much of a choice, do I?"
She seemed to have ignored his words as she spoke.
"This girl. Asia is our personal property. Can I have it back? Asia, you know it's useless to run away, right?"
To run away?
Issei looked at Asia who had a blank face.
"If I really wanted to run away, you would never find me," Asia replied in an emotionless voice.
Raynare just squinted at those words.
When she first picked up Asia, the girl was very kind and naive, but suddenly, her attitude changed from one day to the next. It was totally ridiculous and weird. She didn't know what caused this personality change, but it was impossible to change overnight like this.
"Please don't say that, Asia. Your Sacred Gear is essential to our plan. So please come back with me? I also went to the trouble of looking for you. Don't get me in trouble." She said.
Raynare's approached them, and Issei quickly stepped in front of her.
"We're trying to have a date here, so could you please leave and come back some other time? Preferably never again."
"Low-Class Devil, don't call me by my name. My name will get dirty. What happens between us has nothing to do with you. If you don't quietly return to your master's side, you'll die, you know?"
"Low-Class this, Low-Class that, fuck that shit. You talk like it's something."
It seems she didn't like those words, as she started gathering light in her hand to summon a spear.
If Issei summoned his Sacred Gear and wasn't able to defeat it, he would surely die. His Sacred Gear is something very unique, and if Raynare saw her with it, she would definitely do anything to kill him while he was still weak.
No, he was sure he wouldn't be able to defeat her if he fought anyway.
Asia quickly placed herself in front of him.
"Stop it, I'll go with you." She said.
Raynare raised her eyebrows when she saw what appeared to be a trace of emotion in her words. She however shrugged it off and undid her spear. She had a bigger goal.
"Looks like she saved you, disgusting low-class demon.. Come on, Asia," Raynare called after her.
Issei was going to stop Asia from going with her, however, he heard her voice speak in a low tone for only him to hear.
"You still can't face her. You have to remember motive you fight for, good hunter. I'll be waiting." She said.
His words had some ulterior motive.
Issei didn't know why, but those words stopped him instantly.
PAFT
A sound echoed through the club room. That sound came from one hand holding the other that intended to hit him.
Issei was holding Rias' hand. The others were a little surprised and worried by this.
"How many times do I have to repeat? No, it is not. I cannot allow you to save that nun."
"Why did I even try to come here..." Issei sighed.
"Ise, you don't know what you're getting yourself into," Rias said with a serious expression.
"Oh, so please clarify for me."
"You can provoke a war, Ise."
"What's it like? Are you trying to play the role of a clown?" Issei replied.
His answer and voice left them a little surprised, he continued.
"Shouldn't this be your territory!? The devil's territory! They're in it without your fucking permission! They should be afraid to start a war, not the other way around!" Issei yelled.
He was going crazy. But most of his anger is due to himself. He hates being weak like that.
His words made everyone have a surprised expression on their faces.
"This is your territory. You are its leader, so act like a leader! What kind of leader would let his enemies do whatever they want in his territory!?"
He didn't mind the looks they were sending him and continued.
"It was the same with me. I was supposed to be an ordinary human with no knowledge of the supernatural. However, I was killed, do you know why? Because of your fucking neglect as a leader! You allowed the angels fallen from entering its territory."
He continued.
"You allowed them to kill a human for a fucking 'Sacred Gear'. What if they killed others!? They won't be as lucky as me who was revived by a demon! Do what a true leader should do and drive the enemies of your damned territory!"
After that outburst of words, Issei walked out of the club with a face full of anger. He ignored the surprised looks from some and Rias' voice telling him to stop. He just ignored it all and started walking around with his hands in his pockets.
X
Issei was walking through the streets with an angry expression as his hair was over his eyes. He was walking with his head down with his hands in his pants pockets.
Why?
Why was he so weak!?
He wasn't able to do anything against that crazy priest. Even though he knew the enemy's attack, his body didn't react in time. He hasn't been able to do anything against Raynare either...
Why?
He was able to fight those giant crows with some ease! And in his opinion, crows were scarier than that shitty priest and that black-winged bitch. Then why!?
He was able to kill those giant crows, so why did he have problems with them!?
At that moment, Issei stopped walking as a thought crossed his mind.
Realization washed over him.
It was ridiculous to think that was the reason, but he believed it was.
"Who would have thought, huh..." he muttered.
As he walked, he remembered Raynare's words.
"Please don't say that, Asia. Your Sacred Gear is essential to our plan. So please come back with me? I also went to the trouble of looking for you. Don't get me in trouble."
Asia's Sacred Gear was essential to their plan. His Sacred Gear was capable of healing any race of the supernatural...
It couldn't be, could it?
Issei shuddered as the reality of something he didn't want to believe washed over him. They would take out their Sacred Gear.
And there was only one fate left for whoever had his Sacred Gear forcibly removed.
The death.
It was already getting dark.
Issei raised his head and set off towards the Abandoned Church.
...
'Then he finally realized. ' thought Ddraig inside the Boosted Gear.
'There are people who fight for different reasons. There are those who fight to protect those they love, those who fight for the thrill of battle and those who fight for the desire to get stronger.'
This was the pattern known to many.
But that standard did not apply to them .
'They didn't fight for any of those reasons. They needed to survive. Only that. And in order to survive... ' Ddraig thought as he watched his host walking towards the Abandoned Church.
The sky is already dark, and it was time for the street lamps to be lit.
Issei was watching the Church from a place where he could observe.
There is no one entering or leaving the Church.
But the closer he got, the stronger he felt the bad feeling.
In fact, Issei felt like he was being watched in some way. He thought the fallen angels had discovered him, but that didn't seem to be the case. But there was a problem.
Issei didn't have any plans.
And he couldn't keep thinking of one. Every second mattered, so he just started walking towards the church door. The consequences be damned.
As soon as he reached the door, Issei felt that the Fallen Angels already knew he was here. If they already knew...
So... why not?
He kicked open the door with a force that surprised even him. The door went flying, alerting the people inside.
Upon entering, he quickly came across three fallen angels on the spot. Issei knew one of them, as he had nearly killed him a while ago. The other two were new to him.
"Is that you? What are you doing here?" Dohnaseek asked.
"I came to deliver pizza to Miss Raynare. Could you tell me where she is?"
"I don't see any pizza with you," replied one of the narrow-eyed fallen angels.
Issei and Dohnaseek just looked at him with looks that said ' are you serious? '.
Suddenly, the sound of hand clapping is heard.
Looking in the direction the sound was coming from, Issei quickly heaved a sigh.
"You again?"
"Yes it's me! Meeting! It's a reunion! So exciting!"
Freed hummed.
"Well, I've never met a demon twice before! You know, since I'm super strong, I cut devils to pieces the first time I meet them! Once I see them, I cut them right there! I then fix them up and say goodbye! This is how I usually live! But since you guys ruined my style, I'm lost! That's not good~. It's not good to interfere with my lifestyle~! That's because~! You pissed me off! I hope you die! Really die! You vulgar devils!"
Issei looked at Dohnaseek. "Who was the nut who hired this guy?" He said pointing to Freed.
"I would also like to know..."
"Hey sir, I can take care of him, can I!?"
"Do what you want," said Dohnaseek.
"Whoops! So you fucking demon, I hope you're prepared!"
He took his weapon and the sword hilt from earlier. The sword of light appeared. It will be a nuisance to be cut by that sword. The weapon is also quite problematic.
Issei was starting to wonder if it was wise to come alone.
...Who was he kidding? Of course it was a bad idea.
Freed started to run towards Issei, and he was ready to summon his Boosted Gear, however, a figure moving faster than the eye could see, threw Freed away, causing him to crash into everything in his path. .
A great crash was heard.
"What!?" One of the fallen angels said.
"What the hell was that!?"
Dohnaseek quickly turned to the new person standing between them.
The person was of average size and wore gray and brown clothes, he had a gray cape and used rather strange weapons. In his right hand was a unique-looking pistol, and in his left, was some sort of... knife? He also had a pointy black hat and pointy brown boots.
"Who are you?" Dohnaseek asked.
However, the person ignored him and turned to Issei.
"Good hunter," said the person, his voice was rather young, he seemed to be the same age as Issei. "We'll take care of things here, go to the person you need to save," he said.
We?
As they rolled their eyes, they quickly saw another person, with similar clothes, but they were black and gray in color. He had his arms crossed against the wall as he watched the whole thing without saying a word.
Issei however was confused. Several questions formed in his mind. Who were they? Why were they helping him? What did they hope to gain from this?
Issei had no idea who they were, but he couldn't waste time thinking about that shit, so he just said thanks.
"Thanks," and started forward.
"Stop him!" shouted Dohnaseek.
The fallen angels who were with him were running towards Issei.
However, the first person had his body disappearing into mist, and in just a few seconds he got close to the two fallen angels who just stared in shock. The man with great precision cut off the head of the first fallen angel quickly, and shot the other one in the head with his gun, killing them both in the process. He then landed on the ground as he blew out the tip of his gun which was smoking.
Dohnaseek just stared in shock at what just happened.
"Who was the motherfucker!?" Freed stood up.
He just saw two new people. One had a gun and knife, while the other was on the wall. He saw the boy he was going to kill running to the place where they were going to do the ritual with Asia. He turned his eyes to the person who sent him flying and saw two bodies on the ground next to him. Two fallen angels. One was missing his head, while the other had a hole in his head.
"Who are you fuckers!?" Freed yelled as he pointed his sword and gun at the person who had stopped him from killing the shit demon.
Dohnaseek was about to say something, when suddenly he felt his instincts scream, and he quickly moved from where he was.
At the same moment, a loud bang was heard. He glanced at the place he was standing, only to see what appeared to be a large ax stuck in the wall. The man had been slow on purpose.
"Who we are?" The first figure said. "We're just hunters who owe something to the person who just ran by," he said pointing to the direction Issei had run.
"Haaa? Are you guys owing the shit demon something? In that case, I guess I'll have to kill you."
"I'd like to see you try," just as he said that, a person flew past, colliding with Freed.
"You damn old man! Get off me!" Freed yelled at Dohnaseek.
"Fuck you brat! These people are dangerous!" He said as he got up from the kick he just took.
The second person appeared at his partner's side.
"Reinforcements are coming," he said.
"A little faster than I thought," his partner muttered.
Dohnaseek heard what they were saying and showed a smile as he felt the other fallen angels come to the scene.
"You should leave if you don't want to die." Dohnaseek said.
"They're not going anywhere! At least not the little shit that kicked me. I'm going to kill him!" said Freed.
"Why would we go out?" replied the one who kicked Dohnaseek.
He shot him a look, and it looked like he was going to say something, but his partner was quicker to say it.
"Yeah, he's right. Why would we go out when the hunt just started?"
X
Issei was running.
He passed the stairs hidden in the Church altar. However, upon reaching the halfway point, he came across what appeared to be about 20 priests.
Everyone turned their eyes to him.
At the moment, Issei remembered Asia's words.
"You still can't face her. You have to remember motive you fight for, good hunter. I'll be waiting."
The reason he fights.
Issei finally noticed the difference between when he was fighting those giant crows and when he was fighting these 'people'.
He summoned his Boosted Gear.
A great red and green aura echoed through the room he was in. The priests took a small step back.
"I'll just give you all a warning. Get out of my way, otherwise I can't be held responsible for what happens to you." Said Issei as his hair covered his eyes and he looked down slightly.
He understood the big difference, after all, when he fought the giant crows...
The priests did not seem to hear his warning. They then started running towards Issei.
Issei raised his eyes as he said.
"So this is your choice..."
When he fought the giant crows, he fought with only one goal.
kill.
He fought to kill.
His face showed no emotion whatsoever, just a blankness as he raised his fist toward the priests.
Rias sighed.
"You don't have to get over it," Akeno said beside him.
Kiba and Koneko were also with them.
Everyone was outside the Church, but a little farther from it.
"But he's right, Akeno. Sona and I let the Fallen Angels stay in our territory. What if it's like he said? What if they've killed other people before? I can no longer accept. My brother entrusted this territory to me. "
Said Rias as she looked at them.
"I won't tolerate this anymore. Let's show these crows what happens when they do things without permission in Gremory territory," she declared.
They just nodded in agreement.
'Hope you're all right, Ise. Hold on just a little longer .' thought Rias.
He'd gone to this place alone, so it was pretty worrying.
As they approached the Church, they noticed something strange. There was no sign of a fallen angel. As Issei had walked in, one was likely to think they would call in reinforcements or something. Even though he had no training, he was still the wielder of the Boosted Gear.
"Rias," Akeno called out as she pointed to the destroyed door.
They could hear what sounded like two guns firing.
"Come on," she commanded.
Following his order, everyone went through the door.
The first thing they saw were the bodies.
Thousands of fallen angel bodies throughout the Church.
Issei who had done this? No, it didn't look like he did. They looked up.
And just ahead, there were two people in stylish clothes...coybow? It was the closest to those clothes in her opinion. One of them was fighting that crazy white-haired priest she'd seen before. Freed located his eyes.
"Oh, the shit devils are here too? I'm getting out!" He said as he ran to the hole in the wall.
The two people, however, didn't stop him from running for some reason.
They turned to the group of devils, putting them on full alert. Blood spattered all over the Church, thousands of fallen angel bodies were strewn across it. And they were the ones who did it.
"Who are you? Where is Ise?" Rias was the first one who asked.
Kiba had already summoned a sword, while Akeno and Koneko were prepared for any kind of attack. They all cast suspicious looks at the two people in front of them.
The hunter who had the pistol in his hand, quickly put it away with the knife, and the person next to him followed suit by putting away the axe. He then spoke.
"Now, you don't need to be on high alert like that, you're friends with the good hunter, right?"
Rias and everyone else were confused by his words.
'Good hunter?' It was everyone's thoughts.
The man just continued.
"We owe him a few things, so we helped him out a little. These—" As he was speaking, he quickly sensed something.
The two quickly looked in the direction the good hunter had gone. They looked at each other and nodded. Turning their gazes to the devils who were wary of this, they realized that they hadn't felt it.
"Looks like our time is up. Your friend ran in that direction, you better go fast."
"Wait! Who are you!? What are you doing in my territory?" Rias asked quickly.
"We're just two people wandering aimlessly. We have no intention of doing anything to this place you call 'territory'. Goodbye."
Rias would speak again, but the two men's bodies quickly vanished along with the mists.
This action took them by surprise.
"...Ara...this..." Akeno started.
"It's new..." Kiba finished his sentence.
Rias bit her lip but didn't have time to think about it right now. They had to go to Issei.
"We will!" She screamed as she started to run in the direction those men had pointed. She hoped they hadn't lied.
They started to run until they reached a secret stairway at the altar. They descended, and quickly stood looking at the scene in front of them.
The floor and walls were all covered in blood. And in front of this macabre scenario, there were the bodies of the priests. Some looked like they had their heads blown off, while others looked like they died with a single blow.
They all froze...
Had Issei done this...?
Rias asked them to move forward, and they did so with a little fear of what they would find down the road.
When approaching a door, they could hear a woman who seemed to be suffocating. Everyone looked at each other and nodded.
They entered.
That's when they came face to face with what they were seeing.
A black-haired woman was being held by the neck by a red-clawed hand. The woman's back was bleeding, and soon on the ground were two pairs of black wings. Her eyes were covered with tears as she looked at the person in front of her.
Not far away, there was a girl with blond hair and green eyes standing. She was watching everything with empty eyes. She didn't seem to care what she was seeing. She seemed to be saying something as her mouth moved a little, but they didn't hear what it was. Everyone was paying attention to the scene that was happening in front of them.
And the person who was holding her by the neck.
Issei... covered in blood.
Koneko was shaking as she held Akeno's hands. Kiba was just staring with serious eyes, while Rias and Akeno couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Everyone had just one thought about it.
What the hell happened?
Moments before:
Issei was covered in blood.
He looked back and saw those of all the priests he had killed. He killed them. He killed people. However, his face showed no emotion. He didn't feel regret, he didn't feel anything.
He just walked towards the door that was just ahead.
He opened the door.
"What are you guys doing? I said I don't want anyone here, I'm about to start the ritual," replied a familiar voice.
Issei looked around and saw Raynare fiddling with something while Asia was next to what appeared to be a... bed? They had chains on the bed. It looked like he was going to be arrested soon.
"The ritual will have to wait," Issei's voice made Raynare freeze.
She immediately looked at him. Issei was covered in blood, and his face showed no emotion whatsoever. Just a blank look at Raynare.
"W-what are you doing here!? Where are those useless people who are supposed to watch so no one gets in!?" she screamed.
"Well what do you think?" Issei replied while pointing at himself.
She then widened her eyes when she understood what he meant. He was covered in blood...
"Did you... kill them?"
She mentally began to regret leaving Mittelt and Kalawarner outside. Speaking of them, they would come to help her, right? In that case, she just needed to buy herself a little time.
But that wouldn't happen.
He however didn't answer and just looked in Asia's direction.
"Good hunter, I thought you'd make me wait longer. Looks like you've finally remembered motive ," she said.
The moment she said those words, Raynare's eyes widened for some reason.
He thought so too. If it wasn't for those two people who helped him, Issei probably wouldn't have made it in time. His eyes flicked to Raynare, who was looking at him in shock. She was looking more precisely at her Boosted Gear.
"I-impossible..." she started to walk away.
"There's no way you can own a Longinus!" She screamed as she formed a spear of light and threw it at Issei.
He quickly dodged, and the spear hit the wall with a thud. Raynare looked more scared than he'd expected. Maybe the reason is why her eyes widened when Asia called him a good hunter?
Another spear came towards him, and this one had no way to dodge it, so he simply punched it with his Boosted Gear as hard as he could. The spear broke, but Issei could see his Boosted Gear was slightly damaged, and pain coursed through his body. Seems like even with the Boosted Gear he can't avoid the damage huh.
Issei ran towards Raynare who was desperate. She then had an idea. His eyes turned to Asia. He ran towards her.
Issei who realized this increased his speed.
[Boost]
He reached for Raynare's heel, and with considerable force slammed her into the wall causing a loud thud.
"Ugh!" She screamed in pain.
As she started to get up, she saw a shadow on the floor. It was Issei with his Boosted Gear.
He brought his hand to her neck and lifted it.
"B-Let me go..." She managed to say with great difficulty.
Issei however, said nothing. He reached up to one of her wings and...
*Rip out*
"Aaaaagh!"
She screamed as her right wing was forcibly ripped off.
Issei placed his hand on the other wing.
"N-no! P-please don't!" She was begging through her tears.
[Boost]
He didn't care and ripped off his left wing.
"Aaaaaarrgh!"
She started crying in pain nonstop.
"S-stop! F-stay away!"
He increased the strength of his grip on her neck. She could feel the Boosted Gear's claws on her neck.
"P-p-please..."
She with eyes filled with tears looked at the only hope she had.
"Aa-asia... p-please make him, aaargh, make him stop, please!" She managed to finish with great difficulty while looking at Asia.
The girl just looked at her before saying.
"I told you, didn't I?" She said looking at the Fallen Angel. "I had warned you that the 'Good Hunter ' was going to kill you, didn't I?" His voice came out without any desire to help.
Raynare's eyes widened.
Yes, Asia had warned that the 'good hunter' would kill her. But she just thought it was some silly invention of hers to escape her fate. But now...
She looked at the person who was squeezing her neck. It was getting harder and harder to breathe.
[Boost]
She trembled when she heard that voice, for she knew what was to come. And as expected, the grip strength increased. She looked at Issei with eyes filled with tears.
"P-please... II-" She couldn't finish speaking as the grip tightened again.
"Don't you dare beg me to spare your life after all you've done to me before. "
His voice came out as a roar. Just behind him, she saw a large red dragon roaring at her. This sight left her completely frightened.
She then began to remember the phrases she spoke to him when she killed him.
"Don't blame me, honey. Blame God for giving you this Sacred Gear."
And here was the boy she'd killed before, ready to kill her.
She just gave up. His body went limp.
And then...
A loud crack was heard and his limp body fell to the ground with a loud thud.
Issei just looked at the body with a blank face.
He then heard heavy breathing close to him.
Turning to the side, he saw them.
Koneko, Akeno, Kiba e Rias.
The entire club was here.
They were looking at him with frightened eyes. He could see Koneko trembling, and upon catching his gaze she tightened the sleeves of Akeno's clothing.
"Good hunter?" Asia's voice snapped him out of his stupor.
"Ah, Asia?"
Issei looked confused.
"Rias? Guys?" He spoke to them.
He then looked at himself. He saw all the blood covering his body. He looked at Raynare's corpse on the floor, and just ahead, several bodies of dead priests. His vision suddenly started to blur.
What was happening...?
He did that...?
Did he kill these people?
Suddenly, Issei started vomiting up everything he had eaten. He couldn't bear to see all that blood. How could he have done that?
He heard voices coming from the people in the club, but he couldn't hear anything.
And right after, came the big headache causing him to scream in pain putting his hands on his head, and then he passed out completely.
Before passing out, he had a brief vision of a doll calling to him.
So, what did you think of this chapter?
Before you ask, Asia is not 'exactly' the doll. She and the doll are 'different' people but they have a kind of 'connection', more than that will be a spoiler. But here's a tip, it has to do with her new 'personality'.
The fight against Raynare might have been pretty weak, but that was the intention. Although not much, this Issei is stronger than his original version. What I really wanted was to show some of the 'friends' hunters. Who are these two? Do you have any theories?
In the next chapter we should have a small appearance of the 'hunters'. Maybe Lady Maria will finally show up, who knows?
I just wanted to let you know that in the future there will be some Dark Souls stuff. But the main crossover is between DXD and Bloodborne so don't expect anything too serious. Just a few bosses paying a little visit...
As some people already know, my first language is not English, but Portuguese. Because of this it is normal that there are some mistakes and pronouns that are confusing for you. Because of that, I'm looking for a Beta. If you want to help improve the quality of the fanfic, I appreciate it :)
See you in the next chapter.
