A/N: Hello. Long day. Going to keep this brief. Short update and not sure when I update again. Have fun.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jessi felt Paul back her up against the pole again and deepen the kiss. He rubbed little circles on her hips with his thumbs for a moment before grasping her hips and lifting her up so that she had to wrap her legs around his waist. She gasped as he moved his hips against hers, starting a fire in her lower belly.
Why am I letting this happen? Jessi wondered, moving with him. But Gods does it feel good. I shouldn't be letting him touch me like this…is this a side effect of smoking? Oh God, what will Jack think? Will he care? Will those fuckers back at home smell him on me? She breathed in when he parted from her for just a moment to give her a playful smirk. He nipped at her and then went to her neck with soft kisses. Hey, he smells good. Maybe they won't know what's going on. And who says I can't have fun? If it's one rebellion tonight, why not rebel again?
A gasp passed through her lips when Paul bit down on her neck lightly, then soothed the burn with his tongue. Jessi felt his hands gathering up her skirt and panicked.
"Wait, wait, wait," Jessi breathed, tightening her grip on his jacket. "I can't…as much fun as I'm having…I can't…"
Paul pulled back and looked at her with his beautiful playful eyes. If he would have pouted, she would have given in on the spot. But he didn't. He smiled and set her back down on her feet, holding her in his arms.
"You were having fun with me?" Paul teased, swaying with her. "No shit?"
"No shit," Jessi said, shaking her head. "But don't get used to it. I'm going to keep you at a bat's length distance from me."
Paul laughed at her. "Beautiful, you don't have your bat with you AND I'm holding you right here. So ha! Whatcha gonna do now?"
Jessi stood up on her tiptoes and bit him on the neck, which startled him into letting her go. She laughed and slipped by him.
"Well, I could do that. And then do this." She turned and ran away from him, kicking up sand in her wake.
Paul howled behind her, but Jessi knew better than to look back when running away from someone. The rocker moved up the beach stairs and took off through the crowd on the boardwalk, her boots pounding the ground hard. She dodged past Video Max and made it to the main entrance to the boardwalk before stopping in surprise.
There stood Faith, looking like a perfect fragile goddess with the most perfect, dangerous people on the boardwalk. Faith looked at her with gray eyes and straightened on the back of a platinum blond god's motorcycle. He intimidated the piss out of Jessi and she felt the need to run but also grow closer to them.
"Jessi," Faith said, waving. "It's nice to see you again. I love your outfit."
"Uh, thanks?" Jessi scuffed her toe on the ground. "You look good too."
"Hey Paul!" a curly haired biker called out, looking beyond Jessi. "Look who we bumped into!"eyDHHey Hey
Jessi heard running feet behind her and then Paul was at her side, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. He laughed breathlessly and had the largest smile on his face. He was practically adorable.
"Did ya scare her, Marko?" he asked. "Because I was hoping to keep her around for a while."
"Wait," Jessi said, ducking out from under his arm as something clicked in her head. "Are you – are you guys the Lost Boys?"
"Well, it includes girls now, so…" a beautiful tanned teen said, leaning against a Native.
"It still counts as Lost Boys," the platinum haired god cut her off. His ice blue eyes looked at Jessi like he was seeing through her. "And why the fuck does it matter if we are, Blondie? We're the best bet for your protection around here."
"David, play nice," Faith ordered, curling her fingers in his outer jacket.
"Yeah, where's your happy face, Davie?" Paul asked, bouncing on his toes. "Jessi just wants to be friends with everyone, right Jessi?"
Jessi glanced at him and saw the hope in his eyes. "Y-yeah."
"Paul told us you were having problems with your roommates," the Native said, looking at her with unfathomable eyes. "But you don't think you have help outside of you and your brother." He chuckled. "As if."
Color hit Jessi's cheeks. "It's the truth."
"Bullshit." David climbed off his motorcycle and approached her, towering over her with his large body. He poked her in the chest. "You're fucking protected. Which means we look out for you. If you need us, you get us as quick as fucking possible. When you became a part of Paul's life and Faith made that damn proclamation, you became one of us. Understand?"
Jessi grabbed the finger that was poking her and twisted his backwards until he growled out. She narrowed her eyes. "I understand, but I don't remember accepting that offer. So forgive me when I call you out on your bullshit, David."
David glared at her and turned his hand back, causing hers to twist. "I don't play nice."
"Great, because if you think you can take on the roommates that make my life hell, you can't play nice. They won't. They will tear you a new one and then I have to clean up the mess." Jessi shook her hand free. "So why bother trying?"
"Because you want to run away from Santa Carla and that would make Paul unhappy," Faith said, wrapping her arms around herself. "I haven't seen him this happy in ages."
Jessi glanced at Paul again and he smiled at her like a proud little boy. It hurt her to see him this way because somehow this was her fault. He kept coming back because of something she did or something she said. She was sure it would only lead to disaster.
"Look, I appreciate the offer, but I'm going to have to go now," Jessi told them. "It was all nice and shit to meet all of you. Let's not make it a habit."
She moved past them and out into the darkness of the streets beyond the boardwalk. I hate myself.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Paul was sent after Jessi on his motorcycle – not that he had to be ordered to follow her. He would have done it on his own because he was concerned and their night was not yet over. Jessi wasn't too hard to find either. She was walking past the park when Paul came upon her and jumped his bike onto the sidewalk to give her a spook.
"Paul, you idiot!" Jessi exclaimed, jumping out of the way. "What sane person almost runs another person over?!"
Paul laughed loudly. "Who the fuck says I'm sane? Have you tried hanging out with the people I live with? No one can be sane after that."
Jessi rolled her eyes and continued walking. "Go home, Paul."
"Go home, Paul," Paul mimicked her. "How about no, don't go home, Paul. Right Paul."
He revved his engine behind her and then pulled up alongside her. "Why the attitude towards my bros, Beautiful?"
"Because."
"Because why?" He shook his handlebars. "C'mon. Share with me."
Jessi tried to push him over, but Paul prided himself on his cleverness. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him until they were nose to nose. He snapped his teeth at her playfully.
"Get on," Paul said, guiding her around him.
"Why?"
Paul laughed. "Because."
Jessi let out a heavy sigh and climbed on behind him. "Just try not to get us killed getting to wherever you're taking me, okay?"
"No promises."
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Paul took Jessi to a look out hill and she climbed off his motorcycle, looking out at the glittering city of Santa Carla in the darkness. She looked at peace as she stood there, the breeze kicking up her hair a bit. He took a deep breath and breathed in her scent.
She smells good, Paul thought. Ignoring the blood under her skin and the weed I gave her, she has a very pleasant scent. I like it. But I can smell them on her too. The others. Why won't she just come out with the fact that she lives with a bunch of vampires? It would make it so much easier.
Would it though? Think. She hates vampires. She's trying to escape Santa Carla because there are vampires aplenty. What do you think would happen if you told her we were all vampires trying to help her get out from under her own vampire problem?
Gee, Dwayne, I don't know. Why don't you ask your psychic girl friend to tell me what will happen like you always do. And while you're at it, fuck off.
Paul got off his motorcycle and moved to stand slightly behind her, wrapping his arms around her smaller curvy body. He rested his cheek against her hair and looked out at the world that he'd seen change so many times over the decades.
"Okay, so I understand that you don't do well with people," Paul commented, rubbing her arms with his thumbs. "But why so hard on my family?"
Jessi shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe because y'all are the fucking Lost Boys and I've heard stories about how dangerous y'all are. I should have known by all the leather, but there are so many posers…" She shook her head a bit. "I'm sorry, okay?"
"Okay," Paul said, pressing a loud kiss to the top of her head. "Now, tell me about these assholes that you and your brother call roommates."
"Why?"
"I like to know a bit about my enemies before I make them scream like little bitches and run away with their tails stuck between their legs."
Jessi stiffened. "They're dangerous."
"I can handle dangerous."
"Not this dangerous." She turned her head slightly and looked at him with one eye. "This isn't the normal kind of dangerous."
A slight laugh popped out of Paul's lips. "So what? They're Russian spies? Mercenaries from overseas?" He flipped his hair. "I can take 'em."
Jessi looked away from him and sighed. "You can't."
"Sure, I can. Have you felt my muscles? C'mon, feel my muscles."
"Paul…if you try to do anything to these bastards, they will kill you. I've seen what they can do to a person…they rubbed it in my face. Too many times." She shook her head again. "I can't let you become like that."
Paul hesitated, thinking. "What makes you so scared of them?"
Jessi sighed and shook her head, refusing to speak for the rest of the night.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
