A/N: So…not back, but not gone. Just kinda hovering in the present not present state. If you catch my drift. Please give this short update a chance. Thank you.
OOOOOOOOOOOO
Jessi walked down the halls of hotel cave, not caring that she was getting lost several minutes later after having a screaming match with David. Well, she had screamed and David had just been his mocking asshole self, cool and collected as could be. She knew that Faith would get him, she had seen it in the redhead's eyes. There was always something in that girl's eyes that Jessi couldn't place.
"Jessi, wait!" Paul called, hurrying after her, the sway of a lit torch showing his hurried pace.
Slowing down, Jessi wrapped her arms around herself and waited for Paul. He slipped an arm around her shoulders and it was all that she could do not to melt into his touch.
"You should have told me," she whispered, staring at the distant darkness.
"That you were now part of some vampire turf dispute? Jess, did you think I wanted to bring you in on this in the first place?" Paul asked, leaning his cheek against her hair. "If there had been a way to keep you far from this all, I would have found a way to do it in a heartbeat."
"You know that I should have been given a choice, right?" Jessi commented, closing her eyes.
"Would you still have chosen me? This? Us?"
"Well, I certainly wouldn't have chosen Lester and his douche gang," Jessi grumbled, shaking her head. She gripped his free hand. "And yeah, maybe I still would have chosen you. Because you're a persistent bastard that can't take the word 'no' and would have chased me to the ends of the earth to win my heart."
"Round and round a million times over, Beautiful," Paul promised, bringing their joined hands up to kiss her knuckles. "There ain't no one in the world like you."
Jessi shook her head and looked at him in the flickering glow of the torches. "What are you Boys going to do about the other vampires, though? With them getting, you know?"
Paul laughed. "We're going to give them the big K.O! of course! Whether they like it or not!" He pulled her closer to him and his eyes twinkled. "But onto more important topics. How loud do you think you can scream in a cave while I make you come over and over and over again?"
Color lit up Jessi's cheeks. "Um…"
OOOOOOOOOOO
Paul placed his hand over her lips after a while because he got word that Laddie was questioning if Paul was hurting the blonde rockstar lady. He chuckled softly as he rocked his hips hard into her and felt her hit that edge again. His own demise came and he came hard inside of her, rolling his hips languidly against hers until he was spent and limp.
Jessi glared up at him from his position, his hand still covering her mouth and she did something that he would never expect her to.
She licked him.
Paul laughed and shook his hand off, backing off of her. Jessi swiped her tongue across her lips and then worked her jaw for a moment before pointing at him, her clothes in disarray around her.
"Don't put your hand on my mouth again if you don't want it to be licked or bit off."
Wicked light shone in his eyes. "What if I put something else in your mouth, Beautiful?"
"Then I'll bite it off and give it to the dogs."
"Oh c'mon. I'm sure that David and the others don't want to play with that!" Paul laughed before wincing as his brothers complained loudly in his head.
"Serves you right," Jessi said, leaning back on the bed, looking pleased and absolutely beautiful with so much ivory skin exposed.
While his sister, Faith, was porcelain all the way – Jessi was ivory all over and he loved it. He especially loved that little cluster of freckles on her right hip that he'd found when he'd gone 'exploring'.
Color lit up her cheeks. "You're staring."
"You're beautiful, Beautiful," Paul said, plopping down next to her.
Jessi leaned into his touch when he caressed her cheek. Paul felt his undead heart try to beat again and wished for a moment that it could. And only for her.
Jessi sighed and snuggled closer to him, even as she whispered, "I should be heading home soon…"
"You could stay the day…" Paul whispered, feeling the pull of the coming dawn on him even though it was still a few hours away. "No one will disturb you."
"But you…"
He grinned. "But me."
"What about Jack?"
"Jack's a big boy, he can take care of himself." Paul nuzzled her hair. "You need to remember, he needs his private time to. I saw him eyeing this one chick the other day. Big rack and everything."
Normally, that would have set her off, but she was quickly drifting off. "Oh?...Remind me to kick his ass when I get home. And throw a toaster on her in the…the bath tub."
Paul chuckled and held her close. "That's my girl."
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"Jack…"
Jack looked up when he heard someone whisper his name. "Jess? That you?"
"Jack…"
No, it couldn't be Jess. She hadn't come home yet. Toni had said that he'd seen her go off with Paul and that meant she might be gone for a while. Plus, this seemed to be coming from outside.
Whatever you do, don't invite anyone into your home, David had said, looking Jack in the eye. I don't care if you've known them all your fucking life, you don't let them in here. Because once you break that boundary, you're fair game to whoever wants to party with your blood. You understand me, Jack?
Jack heard the doorknob shake, but the door didn't open. The windows rattled. The lights flickered.
"Jack….Jack…Jack…"
"Enough!" Jack shouted, heading for the front door.
Standing on the front porch, just out of reach was Lester, looking annoyed. Jack stared at his former bandmate and roommate, unafraid, but worried. Lester's fingers kept clenching and unclenching like he was waiting for something.
"What do you want, Lester?" Jack demanded, one hand braced on the door.
"I want you to give me the girl," Lester ordered, glaring at him with cold yellow eyes. "She doesn't belong to you and she definitely doesn't belong to those fuckers that call themselves the Lost Boys."
"Give it up, Lester. She didn't choose you. She'd never choose you. You're nothing but a creep and she saw that right off the bat!" Jack growled, sticking his chin out defiantly. "You never stood a chance with my sister like you've never stood a chance with most of the girls in Santa Carla. She chose Paul. Get the fuck over it."
Lester's eyes narrowed. "I'm not getting over the fact that the bastard stole my mate and you just let him, Jack!"
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
