Alice, Jasper, and Carlisle managed to find Valerie in a very seedy apartment in Spokane. Jasper quickly broke the chains that held Valerie in place so Carlisle could do a quick look over the battered and weak woman. Carlisle could tell just by looking at Valerie that Edward had drained nearly 30 percent of her blood. He checked her pulse and it was very weak but she was still alive. Jasper's heart felt extremely torn and broken at Valerie's weakened state.

"Camilla...please pull through. I can't lose you." Jasper whispered.

Alice could see the worry in Jasper's eyes but it was somewhat misplaced as he misspoke the woman's name.

"Jasper, her name is Valerie...she isn't the same woman from your past and you know that." Alice tried to tell him.

Valerie stirred a bit and moaned in pain. She was only able to slightly open her eyes to see a blonde haired man that looked very familiar yet Valerie had never met him. Yet she knew this man and the only difference was the color of his eyes.

"J-Jasper? Is that you?" Valerie asked weakly.

Everyone's eyes widened at that since he hadn't given his name but Valerie knew Jasper. Alice was very confused as was Carlisle; but Jasper seemed to be very touched that somehow Valerie knew of him at least.

"Yes it's me...well I am Jasper. Camilla..."

A name Valerie knew too well but she needed to correct him.

"V-Valerie...but I do know her...I have her memories..."

Valerie closed her eyes since she was very weak and light headed from the blood loss. Everyone knew Valerie needed to replace the blood she lost from Edward's extraction. Edward was smart to take just enough to keep her alive but Valerie needed treatment.

"I can treat her at the house back in Forks. Jasper, can you carefully carry her to my car?" he asked.

Jasper nodded and he gently lifted Valerie in his arms. He was brought back to when he carried Camilla in his arms in a bridal fashion but this wasn't a happy moment. Jasper didn't want to lose this woman and he gently stroked her cheek.

"Will she make it Alice? I...we can't lose each other again." Jasper asked weakly, resting his forehead on hers.

Alice cracked a smile and nodded.

"She will make it Jasper; I see her with you...you're the happiest I've seen. But we need to get blood in her soon or she will go into shock." Alice expressed.

Carlisle nodded in agreement.

"Have everyone meet us at the house Alice; we need to figure out what we're all going to do. We also need to see how... 'unique' Valerie is."

Once Valerie was at the Cullen house, Carlisle treated Valerie on the living couch. He was able to have blood brought from the hospital to treat her. It would be some time before Valerie would be awake and coherent for anything to be done but at least she would be out of the woods.

Days passed and Jasper rarely left Valerie's side and only left to feed. He was very concerned about her and wondered just how she knew of his Camilla. In a way it didn't matter since Jasper felt this yearning and desire to be at her side. Was Alice right; was this woman going to be his mate and would she feel the same once waking up from her blood loss induced coma.

Julian and his coven stayed at the Cullen's since Cynthia was needed to assess Valerie's connections. However, she wanted Valerie's consent before digging into her heart's deepest connections and memories. Alice was worried for Jasper, even though she knew how this would all end. She'd never seen Jasper wanting to be so close to a human and he was even demonstrating extreme control being around Valerie. Jasper felt her pulse getting stronger and soon enough, Valerie's eyes fluttered open. At first a smile came across her face as she reached for Jasper's cheek. However she felt an IV in her arm and retracted it quickly. Her heart rate picked up and felt her breathing increase; she was panicked if that psycho could be near.

"W-Where am I?" she questioned.

Jasper gulped and he stroked Valerie's free hand.

"You're in Forks Washington...we brought you back to my home to treat you. Edward should have never gone after you and he...well he did something horrible to you."

Valerie felt sick and noticed another blonde haired man with golden eyes as well, but he was in a doctor's coat.

"D-Did that psycho bastard rape me or did he just drink my blood?" she asked Carlisle.

Carlisle shook his head as he took Valerie's blood pressure.

"He didn't rape you Valerie...all he wanted was your blood..."

"Because he's a vampire...are all of you vampires? If so, are you just going to let me heal so you can feed on me again!" Valerie interrupted.

She was scared Jasper thought and she had every reason to be.

"No one is going to feed on you Camilla. We all only drink animal blood. Edward was like that until his anger and blood lust for his ex became too strong for him. You were just the unfortunate focus of his attractions because of your blood singing to him and your looks." Jasper explained calmly.

Camilla...it was a name Valerie knew...she'd been Camilla in her past, weird as it sounds and she knew Jasper without meeting him until now...

"I'm not Camilla Westridge...but I was or at least I know her very well. This might sound strange, crazy even, but...I have memories of her life. There are others too, several others, that I have memories of and it's like I was them in past lives. Seeing you...is bringing back all these memories Jasper. I can remember so much about her childhood with you and your romance with her. She was heartbroken when you never came home and even when she married another and died when giving birth...you were always on her mind." Valerie explained.

Alice was very confused and looked to her sister. Cynthia slowly approached Valerie and introduced herself.

"Valerie, my name is Cynthia Flynt. I'm a trained therapist with a special kind of talent that can examine your connections with others. With your permission...I want to examine you. I want to see your heart's internal connections if that will be okay?" Cynthia asked.

Valerie just nodded and Cynthia began her examination. She trailed her fingers along Valerie's arm, temples, and chest and felt a slight jolt. Her heart and mind weren't completely hers and there were several thousands of connections within her. The oldest one seemed to be connected to Jasper as she trailed her fingers to Jasper as well. Both of them shared a very strong and warm energy within them, which did intrigue Cynthia. She pulled her hand back and she mused what she felt.

"What is it? Is something wrong?" Jasper questioned.

Cynthia shook her head and just looked at Valerie with a warm yet quizzical look.

"You are a very strange human. I'm getting connections that you yourself have had like a grandmother and a few childhood friends...but there are others. I've explored memories and heartstring connections that are not yours, spanning different decades and time periods. The oldest goes back to Civil War times." Cynthia told her.

This didn't surprise Valerie and she just nodded.

"I've known all my life that I must have been reincarnated. Most people don't believe in it but what else can explain the people I know that were before my time. I mean I knew Jasper..."

She trailed off since how could Jasper even be alive. Then she recalled the blood and it just clicked as she stared at Jasper.

"Is the reason you never came back for me...I mean Camilla was because you became a vampire?" she asked him.

Jasper nodded and averted his gaze.

"It wasn't by choice Camilla...sorry Valerie since I was overpowered by three female vampires who stole me after a battle that left me weak. You were in my final moments...Camilla was in my final moments and I feel so horrible I never was able to have you...sorry Camilla be my wife." Jasper explained.

Valerie wasn't bothered that Jasper kept calling her Camilla. In fact, she oddly felt comfort with him calling her that. Out of all the lives she'd experienced, Camilla's was the one filled with the most mystery, intrigue, and longing to find out what happened to her lost love.

"You're sweet and I can tell you were a wonderful man to her based on what I can recall from her life. It's kind of poetic that you were the one to find me...even though this is very weird and strange."

"Right very much so...almost like if there is a higher power...it was trying hard to amend a mistake of the past. I'm just so very sorry." Jasper murmured softly.

Bella, who had been keeping her distance, felt truly horrible for allowing Edward to live. Julian felt the same but at least they were able to kill Edward and he would never hurt Val or any other woman again. Valerie noticed Bella and it was very clear to her why she was targeted.

"Please tell me he's gone. I might have been saved but I don't want him to hurt anyone else." Valerie asked.

"Edward's dead; it should have been done much sooner but I wanted to do it myself. After the pain he inflicted on me; I wanted him to suffer at my hands. I didn't think he would have gone after another; neither did my mate Alice. I'm so sorry." Bella explained.

Mate? Valerie thought to herself. She noticed Bella and Alice being very close and tender to one another and it was very clear what mate meant.

"He couldn't accept you moving on to someone you loved for you? No offense but Edward was a psycho from what I've seen and you did the right thing." Valerie explained.

Bella sighed.

"It took me a while to see he wasn't the one for me and that he was gas lighting and manipulating me. He made me love him and mentally warped my mind to only have my life be for him. Alice saved me, my coven saved me and we are just thankful we were able to save you before Edward did the same to you. He went off the deep end and went for a different approach with you and it sickens me that the man everyone seemed to know was hiding a monster." Bella expressed.

Valerie looked at the doctor and tried to get up; but Carlisle shook his head.

"You still need to let your body heal. I asked my wife to get you some food to replenish yourself. You were out for several days." he explained.

Valerie's heart sank and she tried to check her pockets for her cell phone.

"M-My grandmother. I need to call her; she's probably worried sick about me and thinking the worst..."

"I called her and pretended to be you. I explained that you needed to rush out to Washington for a few days to meet a friend you met online. Not the best idea but that was the best choice that Cynthia and Alice saw." Bella told her.

Valerie raised an eyebrow and questioned,

"What, they can see the future?"

"Well my sister Alice can see things much clearer than I can since I can see more random outcomes. My real gift was looking through your heart to see it's connections. Usually it's to liberate people who are in terrible relationships so they can move on; however with you I wanted to see how strong your bonds to Jasper were." Cynthia explained.

Valerie seemed a bit concerned by that as she glanced over to Jasper. It was very strange in a way to have this connection to him even though it wasn't really her. Still, Valerie felt safe with him and could have a sense of trust with him. Perhaps in some way by having been Camilla in her past was helping Valerie to have these small feelings for him.

Esme soon rejoined the family with a whole spread of food for Valerie; including a cheese burger, fries, and a milkshake. Jasper remained with Valerie as she ate while the rest of the vampires needed to discuss what they were going to do with Valerie.

"The Volturi is not going to like a human knowing about our kind. It was precarious when Bella knew while she was human and now we have another." Carlisle expressed somberly.

Julian rolled his eyes and glared at Carlisle.

"I'll respect you because you're older than all of us but it is your fault Valerie was even abducted in the first place. You needed to be the patriarch and settle things with Edward before he left; but you didn't. We had to be the ones to step in and take him down before Valerie was killed and before he became a serial abductor of women." Julian expressed firmly.

Esme and Carlisle were still saddened at Edward's death. Even though he was no longer their son in demeanor by the time Bella killed him; it still didn't hurt them any less. Carlisle knew in his hearts of hearts Julian was right; it was his fault in a sense that Valerie was taken.

"Right but Carlisle does bring up a point. While she probably wouldn't tell anyone; she will be at risk from the Volturi regardless. It's sad she needed to be brought into our world like this." Esme sympathized as she watched Jasper and Valerie chatting softly.

"Does she have any family?" Bella asked.

Cynthia ran through the connections she saw in her head and nodded.

"An elderly grandmother and that's pretty much it. She doesn't have too many strong human connections otherwise so her being gone wouldn't alert much attention. I know the Volturi and they might be intrigued that Valerie is a special human with knowledge of other past human lives. They might either allow her to be killed or become a vampire...there is no future where Valerie will have a long human life." Cynthia explained with a sigh.

Alice didn't seem as melancholy as she watched Valerie and Jasper chatting. Valerie's smile was soft and she was even laughing at a joke Jasper made; Jasper making jokes was even something rare for her to see with others that weren't her.

"I think she will be fine sis. It might take time, but I do think Valerie will want a vampire life once her grandmother passes. Plus, you saw yourself the connection that is already there because of their link to Camilla Westridge and it might blossom even more; don't you think?" Alice asked.

Cynthia nodded.

"She can't remain in Forks though Alice. She has a life in Chicago and she can't uproot it just yet. Guess we have to be thankful it can be a cloudy city but I don't think Carlisle is planning to go there." Cynthia expressed calmly.

Carlisle nodded since Chicago wasn't the city he planned to take his coven...what remained anyway. He still had his Esme, Rosalie, and Emmett. Jasper had deflected from the family since Alice left for Montana and his future with the Cullens was already in question and Alice knew that. Bella studied Valerie and Jasper and she could see things in Valerie that she saw in herself when bonding with Alice. The subtle hand motions Jasper was doing with her free hand, the lingering stares with soft intensity, and Valerie's heart and breathing were calm and serene.

"When you're better; you probably need to head back to Chicago right?" Jasper asked with a slight frown.

Valerie nodded but also sighed.

"Yes but things are not going to be the same. I know Edward is dead but...it's going to feel just weird. I mean there has to be a reason I have memories of Camilla's life...your loving Camilla and...I just feel like you are supposed to be in this life now."

Jasper raised an eyebrow and he couldn't help but feel...warm and fuzzy at the sentiment.

"I hope you're not going to find this forward or see me as a stalker but...would you want me to escort you back to Chicago and maybe stick around for a while? Nothing has to be decided just yet about us and it would give me peace of mind knowing someone would be around in case something like this happens again. A lady like you shouldn't be on her own after what just happened." Jasper spoke softly.

Valerie chuckled softly since Jasper truly seemed like he was a man out of time. He not only wanted to escort her back home but also treated her like a lady in a respectable way. Valerie could even hear his southern accent coming through his speech and it was rather suave and charming. Unlike with Edward, Jasper truly seemed to care about her and there was no subtext to what his motives were.

"Your family isn't going to be worried about you?"

Jasper shook his head.

"They can fend for themselves and we haven't been a family for a while. I need the change and...a part of me doesn't want this to be our only encounter."

Valerie blushed slightly but nodded in agreement.

"I wouldn't want this to be the only time either...you know when I nearly died from blood loss and all."

Jasper could feel Valerie's emotions and they were at peace. There was a warmth building in her when she was with him and Jasper couldn't help but feel happy he was making her feel these emotions.

"I promise you will never be in this situation again; you can count on that."

Julian and Cynthia looked at each other and then back at Jasper and Valerie and cracked a light smile. Alice was happy at the sight too since it meant Jasper was moving on and Valerie seemed to be the person he was truly to be with. Carlisle was a bit on edge and asked Alice,

"You don't see Jasper losing control do you? He's always been the one to struggle the most with our diet and we're just going to let him be in close contact with her? The only reason he was able to go to school with everyone for the longest time was because you were with him."

"I'm confident in Jasper. He's truly synching up with her and they have a connection; one that is even transcending time in a sense. Jasper would never do anything to hurt the people he loves the most and I do see he is already falling for her and she is too." Alice defended strongly.

Carlisle looked at the pair once more and he couldn't help but feel happy yet sad. Jasper would be leaving to have his own life; perhaps his own coven with Valerie someday, and it was bittersweet to see him go but also have him be happy.

"They can make it work and they might have time to get to know each other and not be forced so soon for Valerie to become a vampire. Are you sure this is wise?"

Cynthia nodded.

"Jasper and Valerie have this warm connection. I have never seen a human who has memories of past lives and it is those memories that are connecting her to Jasper. Despite what some may see; Jasper is falling in love with Valerie and not just because she's somewhat a ghost from his past in more than one sense. If it makes you feel better Carlisle, the four of us will visit from time to time. Alice can even see their future to ease your mind but I feel confident that these two are mates and Jasper will be able to overcome his struggles to be with her for a long lifetime." Cynthia encouraged.

Carlisle cracked a light smile and nodded.

Alice wrapped her arms around Bella's waist from behind and Bella couldn't help but feel so relieved and happy.

"It's all over now." Bella spoke softly.

"That chapter of our lives yes; but we have much much more to come Bella. We will have so many memories to make together and so much love to share. I'm just glad we saved Valerie since I see a bit of us in them don't you?"

Bella cracked a smile at Valerie's tenderness towards Jasper and nodded in agreement.

"Everyone should have a chance and I know they are going to be well together; just how we are."

Edward's actions didn't end in tragedy except for his own life being taken. Valerie was saved and it seemed like she and Jasper have this budding romance forming that will take time. As for Bella, Alice, Julian, and Cynthia; they were finally at peace and could continue to be a loving family for all eternity.
