WAKANDA:

The Avengers and JSA all made it to the labs and looked around at the technological city that was Wakanda. There was technology that looked like it was out of a sci-fi movie, beyond anything they've imagined.

"Gotta admit, not what I expected." Rick commented.

"What were you expecting?" Courtney had to ask, no idea what she was supposed to expect.

"Honestly, I don't know." Rick guessed.

"So, what are we supposed to do?" Bobbie asked as he sat in one of the seats as Shuri was using the main computers.

"We need to find out where Kraven is and who is helping him." Shuri explained their task to them.

"Well, who has a grudge against Wakanda?" Chavez wondered.

"You want the list?" Shuri stated just when her computer started to get errors, scaring Shuri as this has never happened before. "Oh, no!"

"What? What's happening?" Avery asked.

"The network is being hacked!" Shuri explained. "I'm trying to block them out, but the encryption is constantly changing. It's as if the system is eating itself out from the inside."

"How can we stop this?" Courtney asks.

"I don't see how you can." Shuri said before getting an idea. "Wait, they're hacking into the systems, meaning that we can track them back to their base."

"That's convenient." Teresa had to admit.

Going through the system backwards, Shuri was able to get them the location of where AIM is currently stationed.

"Where is that?" Yolanda asks.

"That's the main area that runs the Kimoyo network, if it goes down Wakanda is defenseless." Shuri explained. "We should check that out."

"Great. But how do we know this isn't a trap?" Beth wondered.

"Better keep your eyes peeled in case it is." Courtney stated as they all got ready to help them out.

The heroes made it to the servers of the network. The entire area looked sorta like a power grid but instead of giant boxes for electrical power, there was ruins. Seems they built the place over an older piece of Wakanda that fell during a failed invasion involving HYDRA and Captain America back in WWll.

"Seems everything is okay." Shuri said as she held her arms out to be ready to fire at any moment.

"Yeah, that's making me on edge." Yolanda admitted. "Nothing is ever as it seems for us."

"At least you've got one intelligent member." Someone said, getting everyone on edge as they spun around to where the voice came from and got ready to fight.

"Who goes there?" Shuri asked as they tried to get ready for a fight.

Suddenly, someone showed up sporting a giant trench coat and a purple mask appeared, getting Courtney to react by blasting him, But the man suddenly vanished and made it ahead of all of them.

"My Liege." The man said in a thick accent.

"Who the hell are you?" Chavez asked, ready to punch him.

"Baron Zemo." Courtney finally realized, getting a good look at him.

Zemo nodded and gesture to her. "Correct, dear child. And I have returned to finish what I have started."

"Right." Avery scoffed and sped at him, only for Zemo to vanish again.

"Superheroes shall not be allowed to continue to exist. I have no intention of leaving my work unfinished." They started to frantically look around to try and find out where he is. But all they could really see was jungle in every direction. "And now I'm in every system that you rely on."

"Return what you and Kraven have stolen, and we will not spill your blood." Shuri demanded, trying to act autoreactive.

That's when an explosion goes off, getting their attention as they saw that it was all just a distraction. But then Shuri watched as Zemo leaving a trace of something behind that was left over from his teleportation.

Shuri decided to take a sample with her scanner and that was followed by even more explosions, sending the entire team in a frenzy to hurry and rescue the trapped and injured.

BLUE VALLEY:

Cindy and Phoebe were looking for where Peter had gotten to when they split up and Phoebe checking out in the town and Cindy looking into some places that they would hang out and came across their small, abandoned hangout.

It was like a small fort they built for themselves out of an old shack they found when they started school and wanted to get away from everyone else.

Cindy walked inside and found Peter was sitting down looking at some of the older relics that they kept here over the years.

"Can't believe this place is still standing." Cindy admitted as she walked over to Peter. "You wanna talk about it?"

"Talk about what?" Peter asked as tears fell down his face. "I hurt Lila. My own aunt. The woman who cared for me for years."

"Why?" Cindy asked, wanting him to explain what happened.

"I...I was back on Battleworld." Peter started off. "And Doom was there. He killed everyone I love. And...I...I was so angry. I wanted to kill him."

Cindy was sorry for her friend and wished there was a way to make him feel better but knew all she could do was sit and listen to him.

"And I don't feel like I deserve to still be here." Peter admitted, feeling that he should have died on that planet."

"Peter..." Cindy sighed and walked over to hug him, which he easily took. "Your dad sacrificed his life so you could live. He knew you were going to be a better hero than he was."

Peter kept crying and had no idea how he's going to do that. "How?"

"Take it slow." Cindy stated and kept hugging him. "One step, one day at a time."

WAKANDA:

The heroes all made it out of the explosions and got as many people as possible out of there as they could. But there were a few people they couldn't get out in time and lost in the fire.

Angered by the loss of her people, Shuri made her way back to the main controls and saw the fire damaged their network.

"The evacuation is nearly complete, and the final tribes are being moved to the conference center as we speak." Shuri tells her parents, ashamed of how things turned out.

"And the Jabari?" T'Chaka asked.

"They were pleased to hear Zemo has compromised our evil technology and will reward him a quick death should he ever set foot in the mountains." Okoye informed them on what she was doing during it.

"Hey, so, if this Zemo guy crippled your, and I'm paraphrasing, super advanced internet, are we still safe?" Bobbie wondered.

"Birnin Zana is in full lockdown. No one enters the city or leaves without our permission." Ramonda assured them.

"Where is Zemo or Kraven now?" Courtney asked.

"They have made their way down into the mines." T'Chaka was sorry to say.

"What?!" Shuri asked. "That's why they took down the network. The defenses would be down, giving them the perfect opening."

"A technical genius and a hunter. Terrible match." Yolanda sighed.

"What's in the mines?" Rick wondered.

"They said that it's filled with Vibranium." Cassandra reminded him.

"If they get their hands on that much Vibranium, it could mean the end of Wakanda." T'Chaka said and looked to Ramonda who knew exactly what she was thinking. "And only a Black Panther will be able to defeat them."

"But the Black Panther died." Courtney reminded them, looking to Shuri who looked sad at the reminder. "Sorry."

"No problem." Shuri assured her.

"The Black Panther isn't one person." T'Chaka said and looked to Shuri. "It's the future of Wakanda."

Shuri seemed to understand what her family was saying and became afraid. "You saying..."

"Yes, in order to save our people. you must become the next Black Panther." T'Chaka stated, shocking everyone as they looked to Shuri as she started to hyperventilate at the idea.

WAKANDA:

Shuri was lying in a hole of dirt as the heart-shape herb was being crushed and getting ready for her to drink it. The team watched as she was then given the herb and saw something was coursing through her veins.

"With this herb, you shall become the next Black Panther." T'Chaka said as he fed his daughter the herb.

They then started to cover her in the dirt, as the team had no idea what exactly they were looking at. They didn't understand how the ritual works but knew that they shouldn't interrupt it.

Shuri then awoke and came out of the dirt to see she had reached the ancestral plane. Looking around, she was awestruck at what she was seeing when she looked and saw a tree filled with panthers.

Walking over to them, she wondered who she would see when one of them dropped down and revealed to be T'Challa.

"Brother?" Shuri asked in shock.

"Look at you." T'Challa said with a smile at seeing his sister all grown up. "You're all grown up."

Shuri immediately hugged her sister and cried at seeing him for the first time for years. "I'm sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry for, sister." T'Challa assured her.

"I shouldn't be taking your place as protector." Shuri stated.

"You need to." T'Challa stated. "Wakanda needs a protector, and there is no one who I believe to be more worthy."

"You think so?" Shuri asked.

"I believe you will be a true Black Panther." T'Challa promised with a smile and cupped her face. "You're going to struggle. But that's why you surround yourself with people you know you can trust. You will be the future of Wakanda."

Shuri then gasps as she was pulled out of the dirt and assured by her father. "Shuri! Breath!"

Shuri did as instruct and cooled down. "I saw him. I saw T'Challa." She then laughed and hugged her father.

"Wait, what?" Avery asked, no idea what to think.

2 YEARS LATER:

The entire world was filled with dead streets and overgrown plants, not to mention the hoard of psychopaths that are now everywhere as the team (what was left of all of them) were on a train on their way to somewhere they might be able to save everyone and fix everything.

Kamala Kahn stood outside of the train car and watched as they were leaving the city of New York, where they've been setting up base after everything fell.

"Hey, Kamala." A voice called, and Kamala turned to see none other than Rick in his Hourman gear, but it looked completely destroyed and ripped. "No wandering off, we gotta stick together."

"Okay." Kamala promised and Rick nodded before walking to the other car.

Kamala then walked away and was in her way to the other car when she heard something on top of the train car. She froze in fear and looked back to the opening and enlarged her fist, getting ready for whatever was coming when the roof exploded and caused her to let out an ear-piercing scream.

Rick turned back to where Kamala was and heard her cry of terror. "Kamala? Kamala!" She quickly raced back through the car and stopped at was he was seeing and saw Kamala on the ground, with someone biting her stomach.

But Rick recognized the figure easily.

"I think you've had enough there, Courtney." Rick snarled at the girl who was once his friend.

Courtney slowly raised back to her feet, revealing her torn Stargirl outfit, her mask is ripped and torn from overuse, and she walks into the light to reveal her bones that are shown. Her entire face is rotted away, it shows all of her skull, her eyes are now honey yellow, and an entire chunk of her head is missing, and all of her once curly blonde hair is filled with blood, half of it being hers, and the other being other people's.

Courtney then looked towards Rick and let out a snarl to her old friend. She then raised the Cosmic Staff, which was giving off a sickly green glow and blasted at Rick who quickly flipped the hourglass over before picking up the chairs of the room and shielded himself.

Kamala then got back up from the ground and went to bite Rick, but he just grabbed the now zombified friend and tossed her to the back of the train, his focus being more on her powered friend.

Peter then raced into the car and saw the two fighting. "Rick!" he cried when Kamala went to bite him, and Peter punched Kamala before shooting webs as a slingshot to shoot Kamala out of the car window.

Courtney took the distraction as her chance to go in for a bite, but Rick used that as her chance to punch Courtney, as the bite wouldn't affect him without saliva.

Rick then sent a giant swing to send Courtney flying and even shattered her entire face and sent the rest of her body toppling out of the car.

"Sorry, Courtney. But the JSA died off years ago." Rick apologized to the back of the car as a few of the other survivors of the apocalypse, Nadia Pym, Beth Chapel, Phoebe Cuckoo, Amadeus Cho, and Robbie Reyes to name a few, walked in and saw them.

"What happened?" Shuri asked.

"We just lost Kamala." Peter said in sorrow.
