5 YEARS LATER:
The world has taken a turn for the worst. Wakanda had been seized. Been put under the control of Kang the Conqueror to the point he and his forces have officially become unstoppable. All the remaining survivors have either bowed down before him or have turned into zombies.
All except for two people. The last remaining two decent people on the face of the planet.
Cindy Burman was currently driving a motorcycle that she and Peter Richards have hodgepodge together in the junk they could find. She was going down the decimated streets of Washington as she looked to see there was a swarm of Ultron bots coming at her.
Cindy was happy to see that they fell for their trap and tapped he ear. "Here they come. You have 90 seconds."
Coming out of the destroyed building was Peter, who had a new suit. His suit was a torn and ripped red shirt and blue hoodie with a spider insignia on it. Over the years, his suit became too small, and he needed to change it. Not to mention over the years, he also lost his right arm in a fight with some of the crime lords throughout the world.
But honestly, it worked in his favor. Never needed to worry about tiring that arm out, especially with his new weapons. Running out of chemicals to make the web fluid, took the swinging advantage out of the picture. So, needing to make up for it, he found secret stashes of Clint's arrows and found them with a bow.
Clocking his watch with a 90-second timer, he made his way out with a hood up to stay hidden. Aiming one arrow, he saw the swarm gaining on Cindy and fired. Quickly followed by several more arrows flying through the air toward the Ultron robots. After five years of shooting and studying their speed and patterns, he has gotten into the groove of being able to shoot them down with ease.
Cindy watched as all of the robots were shot down, being impaled in the head by the arrows, Peter took them all down in one swoop. Smiling at their plan coming together, she looked ahead to see the second swarm of Ultron bots coming around. There was always a second battalion nearby in case someone managed to take down the first group of robots.
Cindy just kept riding through the destroyed streets of the once capital of the country and avoiding the shots as Peter shot them down. Driving down an alleyway, she dropped several bombs that took the group, as well as two buildings down on the robots.
But they got a lock on the area where the arrows came from, giving them a location on where Peter was shooting from. But Peter reached down to his wrist and activated a cloaking device he created. When the robots came flying down to where he was, Peter used his robotic arm to punch through his chest and destroy it.
Taking one of his arrows, Peter threw it into another one of their heads, removed it from its head, and stabbed it into another one approaching from behind. Then he took the arrow back and kicked one of the Ultron bots coming at him. Shooting the arrow at one of them, the arrow caused an explosion that took several other Ultron.
But then a second wave came flying in, landing down near Peter and opening fire on him. Peter managed to jump and dodge the dangerous hits, holding his hand to shield his face from the blasts. That only ended with his arm getting blasted off and sent flying.
"Oh, come on!" Peter cried in annoyance at the robots.
As they aimed at him, ready to end one of the last remaining resistance members, a motorcycle came flying overhead. Cindy was able to use the snow, or rubble and ashes of the deceased (it's hard to tell) to make her way up to him. She jumped off of the cycle, using it to crash into the last two remaining robots before the timer ran out.
Cindy walked over and stabbed the heads, making sure they weren't going to get a signal out. She then looked to Peter, who was laying on the ground in defeat. Sighing, she walked over and picked up his robot hand before holding it out to him.
Peter looked up to see her standing there with the metal hand out for him to take to get up. "Don't." He warned her, knowing what was going on in her head. "Don't you dare say it."
"What?" Cindy asked, not following what he was saying. "Need a hand?" She asked as she scoffed and thought he knew her better than that to know she would never say something like that. "Come on, Barton, you know me better than that."
Even throughout all of these years, Cindy always registered Peter as that young boy that was always picked on in high school. She wouldn't call him Peter unless it was in moments of distress, and she needed to help him keep going.
Over the years, they only lost more friends almost as soon as they found them due to Kang. It was almost like the two of them were being followed by Kang's forces, but they could never prove it. That's where they discovered the 90-second time limit from Ultron.
Peter rolled his eyes as he reached up and took his hand, being pulled off of the ground and taking it back. "You really think that the Cosmic Cube is here?"
"Your sister gave it to S.H.I.E.L.D.," Cindy explains to him. "But that's not all we're here for."
"What else are we here for?" Peter was wondering.
"A way to stop Kang from following us," Cindy reminded him.
Peter's mind has become less reliable over the years. Unlike Cindy whose healing factor fixed everything, Peter has been taking one too many hits to the point he can't keep his head straight. That's one of the few other reasons he's never been able to continue with the spider silk formula. Because he could barely remember it half of the time anymore due to his injuries.
"We don't need him having the power of the cosmos." Cindy reminded him.
"Fair enough," Peter remembered, rubbing his head. "I think I took one too many to the head recently."
"Come on," Cindy said as the two made their way to the Pentagon.
Over the years, it was more than just the number of body pieces that have changed over the years. Cindy's hair had grown longer so it would stay near her hips but was currently up in a ponytail so she could have ridden the motorcycle more effectively.
Peter had on the other hand shaven his hair to the point that it became a buzz cut. He only saw it as something that would get in his way while shooting and wasn't worth worrying about. Cindy didn't see anything worth worrying about and saw her hair wasn't worth worrying about.
The two of them finally reached the Triskelion, where all of S.H.I.E.L.D. kept all of their secrets. Most of them were already destroyed or taken by Kang and Ultron. But when it came to the more dangerous weapons, they never placed them in the archives and left a paper trail to follow. This was unknown to everyone, and something that they needed to find out through the last computers.
They made their way into the archives and saw the 70 years' worth of information that needed to be looked over. S.H.I.E.L.D. filed everything under codenames, trying to make it harder for enemies to find the file. Which ironically made it harder for the heroes to find it to stop the enemies.
"So, what exactly are we looking for in here?" Peter wanted to have it clarified.
"Something that will help us take down Ultron and Kang's defenses. It'll give us a head to search for the Cosmic Cube." Cindy was used to repeating herself over the years and knew he was the only help she was going to get. "Just grab a box and start looking."
Peter looked up at all of the files and boxes in his sight and sighed. Rubbing his eyes, he was extremely tired after everything he's gone through. This was the last thing he wanted to do today after everything. But if this was getting him a step closer to fixing everything, then he'd gladly suffer.
They worked out every box, searched through every file for something that'd lead them to the Cosmic Cube or to something to help them take down Kang. But all they found were useless or outmoded information that wouldn't help them. But after hours of searching, Cindy opened one box and found something inside.
It wasn't anything completely useful, but it wasn't completely useless. It was a box that held an old prototype of Captain America's shield that was completely black with a red and white circle in the center.
Cindy had an idea when she turned and saw the annoyed look on Peter's face when he tossed another useless box down the halls in anger. "Barton?" She called, putting the shield on her back, but didn't get a response or look from him. "Hey, Pete?" Then Peter finally turned around and turned to look at her. "Is this my color?"
Peter just stared at her with an emotionless face and groaned. "Come on, Cindy. Don't try and make this fun." He then sighed and looked down. "We both know it's unnatural for you." Cindy's smile then faded and was replaced with a sorrowful look. "My will-to-live meter is starting to flatline as is. I don't need another reason."
Peter then walked over and pulled out another box, starting to look through it. Cindy took what he said to heart, really thinking that she'd been changing over the past years. But maybe he just didn't see it as he was too filled up with guilt after everything.
"Hey, you...wanna talk about it?" Cindy asked, walking over towards him.
"No," Peter stated, going back and looking through another box.
"Pete, if you want us to save the world, we need to work as a team," Cindy stated.
"I already had a team." Peter reminded her with a snarl. "And they're all gone."
"Pete, I understand you're frustrated-" Cindy was trying to lighten his spirits, but he went to bite her head.
"I'm not frustrated!" Peter cried in anger as he dropped down to the floor. He then started to cry, thinking back to the past ten years. "I'm just tired. I'm tired of the fighting. I'm tired of the running. I'm just...tired of losing everything." He then curled up, trying to keep his emotions in check, but failing miserably. "I'm not sure there's anything worth fighting for anymore."
"I know how you're feeling," Cindy said as she sat down beside him. "My dad used me for his experiments that turned me into this if you recall."
"Oh, yeah." Peter had to admit he did forget about that for a while. "Sorry."
"We've all done things, had to do things, or even had been forced to do things in life. Some things that we've done we regret." Cindy said, looking at her claws and thinking back to when she killed her mother. "Things that we regret or wish we could take back. But we've got to keep fighting if we want to get them back."
Peter sighed and nodded, seeing what she was saying. "Thanks, Cindy. I'm glad you found me that day."
"I'm thankful for that, too," Cindy admitted with a smile.
Suddenly Peter didn't know if this was his emotions messing with his head, or if this was something that was built up over the years, but he leaned over towards Cindy. Much to his surprise, Cindy was also leaning in to kiss him.
But halfway to the kiss, Cindy noticed a file that was behind him. Gasping, she reached past Peter and grabbed the file, pulling it out of the box.
"No way," Cindy said with a grin, seeing she found all their answers.
"What?" Peter asked.
"Let's say you're gonna feel like an idiot for almost quitting," Cindy stated with a grin.
"What? You found it?" Peter asked as he looked over the file.
Arnim Zola
"Zola? What is that, a code name?" Peter asked her, not seeing what she is.
"He's a man," Cindy explained to him. "Well, he used to be. I'll explain on the way."
And with that, the two of them started to make their way out and off towards the location on the map. But what they missed was that they were currently being watched by a drone that already knew of the location.
In the castle of Wakanda, Kang the Conqueror was sitting on the throne that he has improved, creating it into a throne with a mental cap, allowing him to do everything from his seat. Not to say he doesn't get up on his own, it's just easier for him to get everything done.
"Seems that they've found its location." Kang fomented, getting up and walking to the desks. "Arnim Zola. I wiped out every location that could lead them to the Cosmic Cube. And yet...they still found a way. Something to think about...In my next life."
SIBERIA:
"So, who's this Zola?" Peter asked Cindy.
The two were currently heading down an elevator that surprisingly still works after all these years. After over ten years, they finally have come closer than ever to saving the world.
"Arnim Zola was a HYDRA scientist that uploaded his brain into a series of databanks," Cindy explained as the elevator stopped. "The ISA and DA had their own copy that I used back when I was putting together...you know."
"The Injustice and Hellfire club." Peter finished for her. "Yeah, I remember them."
"Either way, the copy they had was destroyed when he took Blue Valley," Cindy explains as they made their way to the computes. "Not only will he be able to tell us where the Cube is, but he might something that is low tech enough to take down Ultron."
"Two birds, one stone," Peter commented with a grin. "Or is it two villains, one cube?"
Cindy smiled and was happy to see he was back to his joyful self. Either that, or he couldn't resist the joke. She then typed in the code to activate the program and a face came up on the screen. This was followed by the camera on top of the computer moving and looking them both over.
"Cynthia Cindy Burman," Zola commented as he eyed her before turning to Peter. "Peter Nathaniel Richards."
"Nathaniel?" Cindy asked, looking over to Peter with a smile. "How come this is the first time I've heard of this?"
"Move on. Don't worry about it." Peter stopped her from going further.
"I bet you have many questions about who and what I am." Zola guesses.
"No, I already met you before." Cindy broke to him. "Well, a copy. We need your help."
"Even though you work for..." Zola commented as he looked at Peter. "And he works for..."
"A lot has changed since the last time you booted up," Peter informed the computer game. "The Avengers are dead. The JSA are dead. HYDRA is dead. Basically, everyone on Earth is dead."
"Curtesy of an AI known as Ultron, and his commander, Kang the Conqueror." Cindy continued from his point.
"Und I assume you want me to infiltrate his code and dismantle it from the inside?" Zola took a guess.
"More or less." Cindy shrugged. "We also want you to track down an energy signature of gamma proportions to save the world."
"But why pray to tell, would you think I would want to help you?" Zola asks them.
"Because you're the last surviving Zola copy on earth," Peter stated as he raised a bottle of water over his system. "And I've seen a lot of kids ruin computers this way."
Zola gasped to the action. "Nein!"
"It's true. It got so bad, Riri got paid to fix the computers one year." Cindy confirmed with a grin.
Zola looked back between them with his camera and saw that they were serious. He was their last resort and were willing to destroy him if he didn't cooperate.
"Alright!" Zola finally gave in, watching a few drops leave the bottle. "What exactly did you have in mind?"
They then got to work, Peter pulled out an arrow with a USB stick at the end. This was something Clint used to download data or imprint it into an enemy computer. He then aimed it into the port of the computer.
"Download commencing," Zemo confirmed, his mind being downloaded into the arrowhead. "And as for the mission parameters?"
"We're gonna download you into one of the Ultron sentries, giving you access to Kang's network," Cindy explained the plan.
"Once that's done, you get us the location of the Cosmic Cube, and we fix the world." Peter finished her thought.
"Well, he won't be the first genocidal megalomaniac I have had to contend with, ja?" Zemo commented.
Peter then felt something coming and looked over to the entrance. "We're not alone."
"What?" Cindy asked, looking over to the entrance.
"You were foll-" Zemo was in the middle of panicking when he was shot in the face. Technically, it was the computer screen, but the same difference.
Luckily, he was downloaded into the arrow and Peter pulled it free. Several Ultron robots came blasting their way in and Cindy tossed the old Captain shield at the heads, cutting them off on impact. Peter then went over and stabbed the arrow into Ultron bots that he and Cindy ran past on their way out.
Peter ran and dragged the robot with them as they made it into a separate room with a separate door. Looking upward, they saw their only way out was through what looked to be some helicopter hanger meant for climbing out. Cindy stabbed the controls and caused the doors to crush several robots before closing properly.
"You know how long that'll last?" Cindy asked Peter.
"My guess? Fifty seconds?" Peter took a random guess,
"Correction," Zola said as he stood up, using the Ultron robot as a puppet. "Twenty-five seconds."
"Wow. It worked." Peter was actually amazed at this.
"Now you know what to do." Cindy reminded Peter, stabbing one of the Ultrons that were still working from the door.
Peter grabbed Zola and ripped his body in half, leaving the important functions intact, but ripping his legs off.
"What was that for?!" Zola asked them.
"Just a precaution," Peter explained. "In case you have any ideas on betraying us."
"Your team-building instincts need work," Zola informed the two of them.
"Yeah, yeah, tell it to HR." Peter sighed as he saw the robots starting to break in. "Do you have a location of the Cosmic Cube!?"
"Searching now..." Zola confirmed as he started his scan on the planet.
But it seemed they didn't have the time when the doors started to pry open. Seeing no other way out, Peter grabbed Zola and tied it to his back with his rope. The two of them started to climb up, trying to escape the Ultron robots before they could get in.
As they made it to the second floor, the door bursts open and they start to make their way inside. Seeing as she was ahead, Peter has Cindy take Zola up the pipe and shot the Ultron robots down with every trick arrow he had in the Arsenal. Shooting a laser arrow, it blasted a lot of the first wave of bots coming but didn't stop the rest of them.
"Peter!" Cindy cried, seeing she was almost out and he wasn't following.
"Go!" Peter cried, shooting one Ultron with one arrow before kicking another. "Go!"
Cindy saw a few of them getting past started to get past and stabbed one into the wall. Peter then saw he was getting overrun and tried to fight his way out when Cindy took her pistols and shot them down.
"Move up, Pete!" Cindy called out to him. "I've got your back!"
Peter can't believe he lives in a world where she said that. But he wasn't questioning as he leaped, using his powers to make it up higher and made it to her level. Having an opening without any Ultron's, he shot an arrow that created a forcefield. It covered the entire shaft and stopped them from following after them.
"That won't hold them for long!" Peter warned them as they made their way out.
With just a few more platforms to cross to get out, they think that they're home free. But the closer they got to escape, the harder the Ultron robots fought to escape.
One of them managed to break their arm through the forcefield and blasted up at them. Peter sensed the blast coming and saw it was going to hit Cindy. Working fast, he pushed her out of the way of it.
"Watch out!" Peter cried.
But that only ended in him being hit and send him toppling off the edge. Cindy got up and caught herself, making her way over and grabbing Peter's robot hand before he could fall.
"I got up!" Cindy promised when several more shots came at them.
Looking down, Cindy saw that more robots were breaking through and trying to take them both down. Zola made his new body useful and started to shoot back, using the same systems that he had. Peter groaned as he looked down and saw the shot hit him in the side, and he knew that was going to just slow her down.
Looking back up at Cindy's pleading eyes, he sighed and knew what he needed to do. "Keep going."
"What?" Cindy asked, not following as she tried to pull him up.
"Be the hero I know you can be," Peter tells her, reaching up and detaching his robotic arm.
"Peter!" Cindy cried in terror as he fell.
Just as he started to fall, the forcefield broke and the swarm came flying up at him. Peter showed no fear as he pulled out the most dangerous weapon in his quiver and tossed it. The arrow reached the Ultron robot and started to glow as it was ready to explode. Cindy saw this and immediately started to climb up the ladder, Zola holding onto her back as she did so.
When Peter closed his eyes as the swarm came flying at him, knowing that these were going to be his final moments. After all these years, he was going to still go out avenging his friends. And then the bomb exploded, taking the entire swarm, and even the roof as it fell and collapsed, closing in on them. But Cindy managed to jump out at the last second and avoided the blast.
Looking back at the explosion, Cindy ran and slammed into the ceiling. Screaming and punching it, causing her arm to immediately bleed, she cried for the loss of her friend. Tears fell down her face as she now realized she was their last hope. The person who once tried to kill them all was now trying to do all that she could to bring them all back.
If that isn't the biggest chunk of irony on her part, then she didn't know what was.
"We should get moving." Zola interrupted her crying. "Another patrol will be on its way."
"He died for this." Cindy couldn't believe what he did. "He trusted me."
"Then don't let his death be in vain," Zola said as he crawled over to her. "I have found out where the Cube is."
"Where?" Cindy asked with a snarl, ready to end this.
"It seems it never left the final destination it was last used," Zola informed her. "Looks like we need to go back to Blue Valley."
Cindy couldn't believe what she was being told and clenched her fist. She was ready to fix everything. "Then let's save the world, Zola."
BLUE VALLEY:
When they got back, Cindy took the arrow with the Zola virus, destroying the copy of him back in Siberia. He would have just slowed her down and she could easily get him back if she were to shoot another Ultron bot.
When she found the Cosmic Cube, she reached out and picked it up. She wondered why Kang never came back for it like he never knew where it was. It only took one scan from Zola to locate it and why wouldn't he want this power?
"You did this," Cindy told the Cube. "You are responsible for all of this." Then she reached out and picked it up, feeling its power go through her. "Andy you're gonna help me fix it."
Then a giant burst of blue erupted out of her, allowing her to see the full power of the Cube, sending her back in time to the day that everything went wrong. She wasn't going to let their sacrifice be in vain.
TAKE 2:
"Welcome to the Big Apple!" Scott Lang said as he kept the camera facing the skies, as he was standing on top of a warehouse outside the city. Which was right now doubling as their base of operations. "Home of the Mets, the Chrysler Building, formerly the home of the OG Avengers." He then turned the camera to face him with a smile. "And now...it's the dead zone for zombies, motorcycle gangs, Ultron, and the most dangerous of them all, Kang the Conqueror. "We've learned a lot about all the dangers that there are out there. And now we're going to teach you how to survive this Apocalyptic wasteland."
Courtney was now the one standing there, holding a sign that said: wear armor or long sleeves
"Do I have to do this?" Courtney asks him with a sigh.
"Come on, Court. What's gonna happen if we don't survive?" Scott asks her.
"I won't die of annoyance for one." Courtney groans.
Cindy Moon stood outside of the train car and watched as they were leaving the city of New York, where they'd been setting up base after everything fell.
"Hey, Cindy." A voice called, and Cindy M. turned to see Courtney. "No wandering off, we gotta stick together."
"Okay," Cindy promised and Courtney nodded before walking to the other car.
Cindy then walked away and was on her way to the other car when she heard something on top of the train car. She froze in fear and looked back to the opening, getting ready for whatever was coming when the roof exploded and caused her to let out an ear-piercing scream.
Courtney turned back to where Cindy M. was and heard her cry of terror. "Cindy? Cindy!"
Courtney quickly raced back through the car and stopped at was he was seeing and saw Cindy on the ground, with someone biting her stomach.
But Courtney recognized the figure easily.
"I think you've had enough there, Peter." Courtney snarled at the boy who was once his friend.
Peter Barton was now the zombie in this reality. He sensed Cindy's signature from across the city which made it easy for him to locate her. His whole mask was torn, showing off one of his eyes, his broken jaw, and his neck that had no skin left. The rest of his suit was torn, showing his skin, a few parts of it bleeding. His hands were missing gloves, but his web shooters were still intact.
At the end of the day, it was Rick who survived and found the Cosmic Cube. He got an idea as he went back in time and told the heroes they needed a lot more help. They used America Chavez's powers to tap into the multiverse and called on the help of their friends.
TAKE 3:
Ami Han stood outside of the train car and watched as they were leaving the city of Chicago, where they'd been setting up base after everything fell.
"Hey, Ami." An elderly woman called, and Ami turned to see none other than Kara Danvers, Supergirl herself. She was looking a bit paler than her current counterpart, and even looking much older. Up to the point that she has a few grey hairs coming to light from her blonde head. "We gotta stick together. No wandering off, we already lost too many."
"Okay," Ami promised and Kara nodded before walking to the other car.
Ami then walked away and was on her way to the other car when she heard something on top of the train car. She froze in fear and looked back to the opening and got ready for whatever was coming when the roof exploded and caused her to let out an ear-piercing scream.
Kara turned back to where Ami was and tried to see through the car, but the entire thing is made with a lead coating. "Ami? Ami!" She quickly sped through the car and stopped a few feet ahead of what she was seeing and saw Ami on the ground, with someone biting her stomach.
But Kara recognized the figure easily.
"I think you've had enough there, Nia." Kara snarled at the girl who was once her friend.
Nia slowly raised back to her feet, revealing her torn Dreamer outfit, her mask is also ripped and torn from overuse, and she walks into the light to reveal her bones that are shown. Her entire face is rotted away, her eyes honey yellow, and an entire chunk of her head is missing, only the left half of her brunette hair is left on her head as the rest was blown off.
Nia then looked toward Kara and let out a snarl at her old friend. She then used her powers to create a rope for them and throw it toward Kara who raised her hand and allowed the rope to wrap around her arm and then pulled, sending Nia flying towards Kara before she punched Nia and sent her back towards the end of the train.
Ami then got back up from the ground and went to bite Kara, but she just grabbed the now zombified kid and tossed her to the back of the train, her focus being more on her powered friend.
Hope made her way into the car and saw the two fighting. "Kara!" She cried when Ami went to bite her, and Hope began to shrink into Ami's mouth.
Nia took the distraction as her chance to go in for a bite, but Kara used that as her chance to punch Nia, as the bite wouldn't affect her in any way. She sent a giant swing to send Nia flying and even shattered her entire face and sent the rest of her body toppling out of the car.
"Sorry, Nia. But I need to keep these kids safe." Kara apologized to the back of the car and reached down to her neck and revealed a small locket and let a few tears fall from her face. "I already failed to do it once."
Ami then got ready to attack Kara when she suddenly exploded, and a few of the other survivors of the apocalypse, Kate Bishop, Courtney Whitmore, Phoebe Cuckoo, and Mike Dugan to name a few, walked in and saw them.
"Uh...guys, I'm covered in Ami!" Hope cried in disgust.
"Sorry, we left the hand sanitizer behind." Pietro apologized to her.
TAKE 9:
GoGo then raised a sign saying: How to survive zombies, wear armor or long sleeves
"For zombies, you need to wear long sleeves or any type of protective armor," Peter explained the sign.
"Why am I doing this again?" GoGo asked him, a little annoyed.
"Because it's the safety of the world at stake here." Peter reminded her and looked over to the doorway. "And action zombie!"
The door was then kicked open, revealing her friend Fred as he came marching out. "Here comes the zombie!" He then gets into character, acting like a typical zombie he's seen in the movies. "Rah!"
GoGo just stood there and sighed when Fred walked over with his arms reaching out. He took large steps toward GoGo, followed by him grabbing and biting her sleeve. Getting an extremely annoyed reaction from GoGo, he then squeezed a small ketchup packet in his hand, getting it in her eye.
America Chavez was on her way to the other car when she heard something on top of the train car. She froze in fear and looked back to the opening and got ready for whatever was coming when the roof exploded and caused her to let out an ear-piercing scream.
GoGo turned back to where Ami was and tried to see through the car, but the entire thing is made with a lead coating. "America? America!" She quickly sped through the car and stopped a few feet ahead of what she was seeing and saw Ami on the ground, with someone biting her stomach.
But GoGo recognized the figure easily.
"I think you've had enough there, Honey Lemon." GoGo snarled at the girl who was once her friend.
TAKE 231: (Avery's Perspective)
"COURTNEY!" Avery's voice echoed through the basement, quickly followed by an explosion, sending Courtney falling back when she looked up to see a portal of white open in the middle of the room.
Avery wore no gloves, their sleeve up from their arm to their elbow were black with stripes of yellow around them, and the rest of her suit was all light purple (or dark pink), and the boots, from what she could see, were also the same as the gloves.
"Listen to me now!" The new girl cried out to Courtney as her voice echoed through the entire basement as if it was sometimes being echoed before she even began to speak.
Avery tried her best to push through the portal, but the time barrier was holding her back, and could only get her right hand through. As she talked, her mask began to scorch, due to the mass and heat from the time portal. The Cosmic Cube couldn't get her all the way through as they only have a fraction of its power.
"It's May! It's May Parker! She's the key! She can help us save the world!" Avery cried out in terror, only confusing Courtney more as she looked seriously confused by this, and the girl seems to have recognized it. "Am I too soon?" She questioned and was shot back for a blink second before returning to her spot, her mask deteriorating every passing second. "I'm too soon! You were right about Peter. Kang is coming for him! It's because of him! You need to save him! Only you two can stop this!" She then began to be pulled back through the breach. "Find us, Court! You have to find us! The world depends on it!"
Then she was pulled back into the future, tossed into the wasteland of earth, and stabbed by Kang's lackey, Yolanda.
TAKE 572:
The final attempt was one time too many. It ended with Kang the Conqueror having the power of the Cosmic Cube, and access to every possible timeline out there. He merged all of the realities, as every time they traveled back in time, they created a new reality. And now with the power of the cosmos at his disposal, that's when they truly lost.
Now you know how this world came to be. How all realities were merged, and how every reality is always destroyed.
Ready to get back to Clint Barton?
Because you still don't know the impact Kang has had on the multiverse.
Clint walked through the portal and saw the wasteland that the world has turned into. There was nothing but death and destruction everywhere. Either destroyed buildings, overgrown plant life, or dead bodies and-or skeletons.
"My God," Clint whispered in shock. "What happened here?"
He kept walking and as he did, he appears to have stepped on a trap because a bell rang, and he was met with a group of men walking and aiming their weapons toward Clint. Their weapons consisted of spheres, worn-down guns, and axes, making them look like they were coming from a Mad Max convention.
"Are you a fighter, or are you food?" Their leader asked Clint.
Clint looked around, almost as if he didn't think he was asking him this but someone else. But after seeing he was indeed talking to Clint; he had no idea what to say after hearing that.
"I'm just passing through," Clint told them casually.
"It is food." He reported to his men and Clint was shocked to see these humans have resorted to catabolism. Working fast, he reached into his back and grabbed an arrow to shoot, only for a gun to shoot and destroy his bow.
"Aw, shit," Clint whispered as he was getting ready to fight them when a portal opened, followed by a repulsers blast that sends a few of them flying.
Clint then looked and saw a bigger portal opening, followed by Ironheart, Hourman, and Dr. Strange exiting and ready for a fight.
"Ha! Joey! Riri! Rick!" Clint cheered at the (strangely) familiar faces. "Boy, are you guys screwed."
Before the monarchs could even understand what happened, Joey used the bands and yanked several of them in the air as Riri blasted several missiles and created a smoke cloud.
"Yeah, Ironheart!" Clint cheered when he suddenly saw through the smoke that Rick picked up one of the men as he screamed in fear and Rick BIT his face off. "Uh...what are you...what?"
Joey and Riri also joined in and took down the rest of the monarchs by eating them. The only thing left filling the air was their screams of horror and chewing on flesh.
"Guys, this seems like overkill," Clint stated to them in disgust, wondering what's changed over the years. And wondering why they haven't changed.
Riri then raised her face from the mist and Clint was shocked to see her skin is pale...and has a whole chunk of it missing, including an eye!
"Holy God!" Clint cried as he saw that the same was visible for Joey and Rick.
Joey's face had his entire left cheek missing, his suit torn and his left arm showing the bone.
As for Rick, he almost looked the same, just without the pale skin and the fact his entire right leg is just a bone. Riri raised her blaster to Clint when the Cloak of Levitation came in and wrapped it around her blaster.
When the blast went off, the glove was redirected to the sky. Then the Cloak tossed Riri at Rick, giving them an extra moment to escape.
Clint couldn't imagine the kids as zombies and less to the fact he didn't want to hurt them and took off running.
But that's when Joey used his portals to end up ahead of Clint and was on his way through when the Cloak stopped him halfway through.
Clint stumbles backward and is barely missed by Joey when the cloak spins him around and stops Joey by allowing the portal to cut him in half.
Signing in relief, Clint thought the nightmare was over when Rick came over and was ready to bite. Clint sadly let out a giant shriek at the sight when someone grew and shot Rick in the face. Nadia Van Dyne panted in exhaustion before turning to see Clint Barton was indeed here.
Mike was right.
"Go. You'll be safe with them!" Nadia demanded Clint.
A truck drove up and was revealed to have someone behind the wheel. It was a women archer in the back, and a few other familiar faces in the back.
"What the hell is going on?" Clint asked her in shock, having never met the daughter of Hank Pym yet. "Who are you, people?"
"All that's left of the good in humanity," Nadia informed him.
That's when someone swings in and picked up Clint as he cried in terror for a second time.
"Hey, it's okay. You can relax." The woman told him, revealing to him that she was wearing a Spider-Man-styled Symbiote suit. "I'm just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Girl."
"Oh, really? Then what the hell happened to the neighborhood?!" Clint asks her.
